@MooBugz I had that pain after sneezing the other day. So strange

madeinthe80z · 25/06/2022 12:53

@Skylark1990 my top tip for covid testing a toddler....its a bit gross but just get their snot on a tissue and rub the swab in it. That picked up my daughters covid in April!

MooBugz · 25/06/2022 13:59

@madeinthe80z oh as gross as that sounds that's better than my method of pinning them down on the floor when we all had it in feb 🤣 ..did have to use the same technique to test OH too at the time 😆

I am absolutely raging. So as you guys know I had a MC earlier this year and I put it down to covid as I had it around that time too and have had healthy pregnancies before (I know it can never be proven but still) and I've just found out that one of my sons nursery friends has had a covid household all week and lied to my face and said they didn't. It's since spread and extended family in that household has got it and now I'm absolutely petrified that history is going to repeat itself now.

What's more is when I had covid that household avoided me and the rest of my family like the plague even though I had the decency to be straight and let them know they haven't done the same even though they knew my circumstances and what happened before and that I've been trying to get pregnant.

Legit. So scared right now. Any advice appreciated. ps @Skylark1990 I know you have covid and this isn't to scare you at all this was just my situation at the time and I know that others are totally fine with it and pregnancies have been unaffected so please don't be alarmed it was different for me personally

@Skylark1990 Awww really sorry you’ve got COVID. The variants kicking around right now are milder so hopefully it will pass soon 🤞🏻 But yes, plenty rest and fluids - I hope you feel better soon x

@MooBugz the imagery of you pinning you your OH down 😂 Also let me try and find that article about COVID and pregnancy outcomes. It was very reassuring 👍🏻 I hope you manage to avoid it though 🤞🏻X

RedElleJ · 25/06/2022 15:02

@MooBugz Okay so I can’t find the article. However, I have had a skim of recent studies. There seems to be no increased risk for miscarriage in early pregnancy; however, it would be really important to keep an eye on your temperature in case you spike a fever.

I can’t remember who said it on here but think of the conditions mamas to be have had to ordeal in the past (wars, famine, etc.) We and those little beans are made of tough stuff. I really do hope you manage to avoid it but if you don’t, be extra kind to yourself and take it easy so your body isn’t under anymore stress x

MooBugz · 25/06/2022 17:06

Thanks @RedElleJ appreciate you trying to find that. Honestly it's just the circumstances that surrounded my mc I guess I'm always going to be on edge with covid even if there's evidence to say otherwise. If you let me you'd see I was the very level headed about covid from the get go and stayed that way very rational throughout but when I caught it I was fine even then. But after the mc it just gives me the fear and like I said even if that's not the cause it's going to be one of my triggers so I got myself worked up earlier but have calmed down since after speaking to OH and taking some lateral flow tests 🥴

You're right in saying our bodies are tough though superwomen

Hello ladies, had a crazy busy week so have barely had time to sit down so have missed lots on this thread!

Hope everyone is feeling okay and not worrying to much! Covid seems to be everywhere at the moment so I’m trying to avoid that as well. Hope those who’ve tested positive aren’t feeling too rough.

@RedElleJ sorry for slow reply but yes I rang the EPU and they agreed to a scan at just before 7 weeks, which feels a little late for me as last time by 6 weeks I had already bled internally and ended up in emergency surgery! but fingers crossed everything goes well (I’m trying to think positively). Although the 8th July feels ages away! But hopefully this next week will be a quieter and calmer one where I can relax.

I’m struggling to sleep atm, probably because I’m so nervous/anxious anyone got a tips for a better sleep?

BEL88 · 26/06/2022 02:16

Insomnia is really hitting me tonight!! Is that a symptom?

I don't know but I've been sleeping awfully lately too. My fit bit says I slept for 3 hrs 34 last night Hmm.

seven201 · 26/06/2022 07:03

I'm 6+1 today and my clearblue is still on 2-3 Sad. I know I shouldn't worry, but I will of course!

RedElleJ · 26/06/2022 07:35

Happy Sunday everyone ☺️

I hope you all have a lovely evening yesterday and have a nice Sunday ahead of you.

I think fatigue and mood swings have hit me. I was nothing short of a moody brat to my husband yesterday and I felt so bad I just went bed for 30 mins to re-centre. He came up, asked me what was wrong, and I just burst out crying 😂 And everything feels like a slog at the moment which is making me sooo tired!

How is everyone else feeling today?

@Boggles24 i am a podcast gal! If I’m lying in bed and I can’t sleep, I just pop a podcast on and I’ll nod off. I find it helps to keep my brain quiet in terms of anxiousness - not everyone’s cup of tea though.

Hope you managed to get some sleep in the end @BEL88

Awww @seven201 I am sorry you’ve not got your 3+ yet but the ladies highlighted just how inaccurate they can be! Did you say you have an early scan booked as that may give you more reassurance? If you do test again I would leave it 78 hours like the girls suggested. I’ve decided not to go for the 3+ now - as I don’t want the tests planting anymore seeds of doubt in my head than I already have.

@HarryPotterGeek84 and @Victoria98 - sorry I missed your messages yesterday.

How are you feeling now @HarryPotterGeek84? I know that cramping and spotting can be normal symptoms but it absolutely causes some of us worry and concern.

@Victoria98 I am sorry that you haven’t felt reassured by the scan and that you have a bit of waiting game ahead of you. Do you have another early scan booked at all? Sending lots of cuddles and positivity your way x

Skylark1990 · 26/06/2022 07:50

Hey everyone, hope you all had good days yesterday and have nice sunny Sundays to look forward to! Are all of us in the UK or some overseas? Be interested to know 🥰

@MooBugz so sorry you are feeling anxiety re covid, can completely understand especially due to the circumstances around your last MC. Sending love and I really hope you don't get it again - as you had it recently, it's very unlikely you'll get it again - surely! Or if you do it'll be very mild.

It's great having @RedElleJ on this thread as she seems very scientific! Love how you look up all the studies for us @RedElleJ 🥰😘

I'm doing ok with covid I think, had a tough day yesterday with some aches and pains, headache, sore throat and a bit of a cough but it's definitely not as bad as my partner has it and just hoping it passes me by quickly. I still feel a bit rubbish today but maybe slightly better. Decided I'll take tomorrow off too so I can rest another day at least. Not taking any risks due to this little bean growing (hopefully!) Inside me.

@Boggles24 I find it helpful to have an hour or so before bed when I dont look at my phone if struggling to get to sleep, just helps my mind switch off. I also try to focus on my breathing while in bed and that can help switch off my mind. Just follow my breath as it's in and out. So hard though when insomnia hits! Less caffeine and sugar in afternoon can help too. My DP loves podcasts too @RedElleJ for getting to sleep, he's basically addicted and can't do without them now 😬😅

@seven201 so sorry the 2-3 is causing you anxiety - it's so common for them to be off but I can fully understand your worry. Did you say you have a scan booked for early this week? Hope that gives you some reassurance ❤️

Ally256 · 26/06/2022 10:25

I'm 6+1 today and the nausea is crazy. Had a two hour nap yest and a lie in today and I just feel so, so queasy. Wasn't like this at all with my miscarriage, which I suppose is good, but wow do I feel grim!

seven201 · 26/06/2022 10:53

@RedElleJ thank you. Logically, I know the 3+ threshold is very high, it's much higher than other charts out there. I think you've made a wise decision deciding not to www on a stick for that one. Yes, I have a scan on Tuesday, so will wait for then. Sorry to hear about your mood swings - I've been the same. Had a falling out with dh on Friday; it's pretty rare for us to fall out. Was over the dishwasher!

@Skylark1990 I'm in the SE of England. I'm glad you're doing a bit better covid wise today. Definitely take Monday off too. See how you feel, but maybe you should take Tuesday too. You are more important than work.

MooBugz · 26/06/2022 11:05

Morning all how are we doing?

@Skylark1990 so far so good I think yday was a wobble along with hormones lol fun times. Feeling in a better headspace today although soo tired. Have a taste in my mouth that doesn't go away which I remember from previous pregnancies.

@seven201 all the best with your scan tomorrow and others who are booked this week 🫶🏽

Going into week 7 shortly so will be getting my private scan booked for week 9 before I know it. Just keep giving yourself milestones it makes the time go in quicker.

Feeling blessed today to be in this position so going to embrace every day as best as I can because rather this than having another month upset ttc right ladies there's no winning with us sometimes 🤣❤️

@MooBugz
You're right, positive pants pulled up today. Instead of terrifying myself about what will or won't be, I should actually be celebrating that we have had success in our first IVF round, its exactly what we wanted, and I haven't had a hideous, painful sodding period in 2 months! Woop!

OceanbreezeSun · 26/06/2022 15:05

@Pleasenotagainn
I’m sorry you are going through such a worrying time. I really hope everything works out for you. It is good you heard a heartbeat but I know that won’t stop the dread you feel❤️

@Skylark1990 hoping your covid symptoms stay mild. Mine did, although I’ve had to keep blowing my nose constantly!

@MooBugz
can totally understand why covid would be a trigger. When I had my mmc, I started to think things like ‘is it because I was carrying heavy shopping or I walked too far’ I know it wasn’t any of those things but it doesn’t stop you thinking it. If you do catch it, hopefully it will be mild, which I hope will make you feel less anxious.

I had a small streak of brown blood in my underwear yesterday - my first thought was ‘no, not again’ I sat there for 5 minutes to calm myself. I didn’t ring the epu (I was at my parents house 90 mins away) but I will if there is anymore. There hasn’t been anymore today.

When I was pregnant with dd, I had little one off brown spots of blood around week 7 and 11, both times had scans at epu and all was ok.
With my mmc in Jan, it started off as brown blood but it was there everytime I wiped after a wee, rather then a one off. I think that’s when I knew something was wrong and that’s when I rang the epu.

Just trying to stay calm right now. I will ring my midwife tomorrow just to see what she thinks.

MooBugz · 26/06/2022 16:43

@CNizzle for sure that's so much positivity in that one paragraph alone so huge congrats and being able to look at it that way. I'm a big believer about positive vibes and they'll come back to you.

@OceanbreezeSun good for you being able to calm yourself down like the at and being level headed and happy that it hasn't happened against since. You have the reassurance of knowing it happened with your healthy pregnancy before too so that would help.

We're all fighting mental battles through these hard weeks and just have to be here to support each other through the roughies when our mind takes over our thoughts.

Happy Sunday all 🥰

Rubes1234 · 26/06/2022 18:12

Happy Sunday everyone!

So sorry to hear a few of you have had a rough couple of days! There are brighter days ahead for all of us though and you all have a bunch of amazing and supportive friends here who will help pull you through the darker days!

Somuch to catch up on. I really need to check in more! I still haven’t taken the clear blue digital. I’m scared and also still in denial that I’m even pregnant again to be honest. I think it will become real when I see that 3+ and I’d like to try and be as stress free until we know it’s even in the right place and we have something to worry about. I am ringing the EPU tomorrow though as I was meant to as soon as we found out but the same as above.

I seen someone asked where we were all from I’m in Northern Ireland but originally from Liverpool, England!

I totally agree with @CNizzle , we are all so lucky to be having the stress of this. The news this week I’ve found incredibly triggering and just scary. Like cnizzle. I’ve put on my big girl positivity pants and tried to block out the stressors and haters! 😂

Is anyone at the stage where the bowels are just starting to cop on that we’re pregnant? Mine have totally slowed! I’ve also been a crank and the food aversions have started. My partner cooked bacon sandwiches for us and I no longer like bacon!! WHAT!! I cried obviously. Then felt awful cause he had made me something after me being hangry! 😂 How do they cope with us?!

Ive just been to pottery class and I’m really trying to just get out and do stuff when the energy allows. I hope you can all get yourselves out for a little fresh air or a chill in the back garden. A bit of you time! You deserve it xxx

CNizzle · 26/06/2022 18:33

Agreed @Rubes1234 the news this week has been so triggering. I cried in the car listening to it on Friday.

I'm in Glasgow, but originally from the Wirral, officially been in Scotland longer than England now, not sure what I class myself, not quite Scottish, but not 100% English any more.

RedElleJ · 26/06/2022 19:11

@Rubes1234 although those symptoms don’t sound fun - they do sound like things are going in the right direction! 🤞🏻Good luck calling EPU…hopefully they get you in quick.

The news has been so difficult to process. I don’t even have the words 😕

I live in South West England but I am originally from Scotland - should be moving back sometime soon too.

Skylark1990 · 26/06/2022 19:50

Agree about the news this week...
I was just on Instagram reading posts about the news from the USA and it's just mind boggling and so upsetting isn't it. Everyone has the right to choose and it's so important to provide people with that support to do so safely if they need or want to... Been reading about how it's also going to apply to medically necessary abortions such as if women have an ectopic or need a D&C. It's just so so so messed up, I can't believe it. I hope something or someone stops this. So triggering and upsetting 😞😞 🌷❤️ sending love to you all and all our sisters in the States.

I agree about being positive, we are all pregnant which is amazing and we are lucky 💕 and so agree good to take some time for ourselves when we can @MooBugz @CNizzle

Gamergirl84 · 26/06/2022 20:23

Hi everyone. I'm on another thread on MN but stumbled across this one and actually really pleased there's one for ladies like us... no one really gets it unless they've been through it.

Im 5+6 (ish) and have an early scan tomorrow. Absolutely terrified.
We had a failed IVF transfer/ chemical in January and before that three pre 12 week miscarriages.

Logically, I know the likelihood of finding a heartbeat at the scan tomorrow is very slim given my dates but I'm so nervous they won't find anything.

I've been having very mild symptoms-a little cramping and tiredness but no nausea or food aversion. Boobs feel normal etc.

Feels like the days are dragging and I just want some news either way really.

Skylark1990 · 26/06/2022 21:26

Sorry Mumsnet went weird on me and couldn't finish my message!

Location wise I am in England too, Buckinghamshire. Love that we are all spread around!

@OceanbreezeSun so sorry to hear of the spotting but like you say it sounds like it's almost certainly not a bad sign and probably just some old blood from implantation, reassuring you got it with your DD. Hope it doesn't come back and sending love, I know that must be nerve-wracking ❤️ thanks for the kind words re covid, I'm feeling very tired right now but do feel I'm slowly getting better. How are you going, how is bf for you ATM?

@Rubes1234 yes! I am constipated too (is that what you mean 😂😅) and have been for ages! Actually I've been ok the last two days or so. ... But before that yes. I got some lactulose and I recommend!!

@RedElleJ how are you doing lovely? Are you feeling less anxious today? Hope so x

@Gamergirl84 welcome and I'm so sorry to hear of your previous losses, that must have been so hard 😞🌷 we are a lovely bunch (if I do say so myself!) So hopefully you find some good support here ☺️

@seven201 best of luck for the scan on Tues!

@Pleasenotagainn @Victoria98 how are you both doing?
