Never been more grateful for facemasks today. I kept doing silent retches this morning so I popped on a facemask as I was walking around work this morning. Really hid my secret boaks.

Feeling much less queasy now but the retching is here to stay!

Jaaxe · 06/06/2022 13:33

@Chanel05 thanks! Yes this will be baby number 4 and csection number 4 too which they don’t really recommend so Im very anxious about it all, but consultant said I’m just more high risk and would need extra scans to keep an eye on things and an earlier elective section by a consultant.

sorry to hear others are suffering nausea too, how many are finding out the gender? We did with my other 3 but this time I know it’s my last and as it was a surprise pregnancy (failed morning after pill) I think may aswell have it all a secret and keep gender secret too, might cave tho 😬

Dating scan today bought us back a day. So lovely seeing them on the screen wriggling around. Saw the tiny feet and I'm just so in love

Well after two lots of 30 minutes walks, hip wiggles, jumps and some bruising we got there. Due date of 7th December. Husband went mad texting everyone so I guess we're not waiting until the screening results come back!

Jampot36 · 06/06/2022 17:22

@lifechanginglemoncake thats great!!!

Sounds like it was quite an athletic event in the end!

RhiRhi1996 · 06/06/2022 17:37

Is it important to have access to your maternity notes or does it not really matter?

2.5 weeks ago my midwife texted me saying she set me up on badger notes app but it seems she may have entered my number incorrectly as when it comes to verifying mobile number to get in, I don't get any text.

I messaged her twice about this but she hasn't responded. She isn't very good at replying to be honest. I know they're busy and I don't expect quick replies. But 1-2+ weeks for response or not getting one at all is a bit annoying although I hope and presume if I'd messaged her in an emergency type situation I'd get a quick response.

I've only met her once, at my 8 week booking appointment and won't see her again until week 16, so still a while to go as I'm only 11 weeks.

So yes , my question is, is it not that important to have access to the notes ? I would have liked to see my results for bloods etc but presumably that's all fine since she hadn't said anything.

KittyKat1989 · 06/06/2022 17:55

Good afternoon ladies - hope you are all doing well and feeling OK.

I have my 16 week midwife appointment next week (at 15 weeks, as I'm on holiday the following week). I just wondered if anybody knew what I should expect please - in particular, I've heard different things about maybe being able to hear the heartbeat through a doppler? Are partners invited or is it 1-2-1 only in these post-Covid times?

Thank you xxx

@KittyKat1989 I didn't get one last time as it was covid and a phone call. I'm not sure about the heartbeat but they will deffo do urine and blood pressure checks! I don't think they start measuring bump until after 25 week appointment. My partner can go and so can my son as it's in the family centre. If it's in the hospital I assume they will have different rules. Can you contact them to ask?

RSmamaa · 06/06/2022 18:45

@RhiRhi1996 I have badger too and had it for my previous pregnancy. I do recommend having it as all your blood results, appointments, scan results, bump measurements and antenatal clinic bits and bobs go on there. It's nice to look at.

I can't really remember my last birth as it was a bit traumatic for me and I was drugged up, but they put all the info on the postnatal section on there so it was really nice to have it written down so I could jog my memory 😂. Babys bits will be on there too after the birth. I would just sort it at your next appointment

RhiRhi1996 · 06/06/2022 19:02

@RSmamaa thank you for your response! Yes I would like to have a nosey what's on there, but I guess I'll have to wait until my 16th week appointment if she doesn't respond 😅 x

RhiRhi1996 · 06/06/2022 20:04

Has anyone experienced sharp shooting pain in one or both breasts ?

It happened to me a few times over 10 minutes, very painful. I was wondering if this is pregnancy related or may be a seperate issue ?

I have a breast lump, and had an ultrasound a few weeks ago. but because of the changes in my breast, I couldn't locate the lump like usual, as it was covered by the bigger boobs. They located a lump and ultrasound it but I realised afterwards it wasn't the right lump (which I had suspicions about at the time, but as I couldn't locate the right one, I figured it must be that). I realised when checking afterwards, it was a completely different lump they checked , one that has only came since pregnancy.

I figured I'd wait until pregnancy / breastfeeding is over to query it again as it is so hard with the breasts being bigger and fuller now.

But a bit worried now I have this shooting pain in only that breast.

AG96 · 06/06/2022 20:50

@RhiRhi1996 I had sharp shooting/burning pain but felt like fire coming out my nipple. Happened to one nip or both at the same time. Think it was a raynaud's thing. Unsure if that's what your feeling or if it's just boob pain and not nipple? Mine feels like lasers shooting out my nips 😂

OP posts:
RhiRhi1996 · 06/06/2022 20:58

@AG96 yes it is mostly on the nipple, about half of the nipple and a small bit of breast. It happened for about 30 mins intermittently. Seems to have stopped now! I've never had it before so unsure what it is! 😅

AG96 · 06/06/2022 21:01

@RhiRhi1996 did your nipple get cold beforehand? Happens to me when it's cold outside or if I get out of bed and it's cold. Could be that maybe. Also lumps in breast can come and go with hormones but of course get them checked to be sure 😊

OP posts:
RhiRhi1996 · 06/06/2022 21:04

@AG96 no I didn't feel cold at all, I was laying in bed where I had been for a good while so no change in temperature or anything. I will keep an eye on it anyway and if it continues i will make appointment with gp! Thanks for replying anyway! :)

HayleyBean · 06/06/2022 21:19

@Jaaxe my morning sickness has been present since 6 weeks. I'm 13 weeks tomorrow. This evenings bout of puking was rather painful...orange juice and a cereal bar. I do not recommend that combo 🤢

@KittyKat1989 - with our 16 week scan it's a home visit and we get to hear the heartbeat as well

Jampot36 · 07/06/2022 08:23

Does anyone know if the badger notes is updated after 12 week scan?
Mine is putting me at 13 weeks (I'm 11) because it goes off your last period, this isnt accurate for me because we did ivf so i know the conception date. My midwife couldn't put the info in any other way but i dont know who to speak to or if it'll revert to where it should be after dating scan?

PinkFizz1 · 07/06/2022 08:31

@Jampot36 mine was updated instantly. I was still in the hospital when I checked and it had updated to my new due date/week from the scan.

tasha4eva10 · 07/06/2022 09:46

Hi ladies

Can anyone advise, I went to the toilet around 8am and when I stood up I saw this in the toilet, I have never had a miscarriage so don't know what it looks or feels like but does this look like I have lost the baby or just a clot? I haven't had any bleeding since, I had a little cramping in my hips but that's stopped. I have phoned 111 and my gp surgery who have both just told me to wait and see 😭. I'm 10+5

It is tmi but giving all the info possible..... we did have anal sex last night so not sure if the clot come from there or vaginally.

@Jampot36 mine is like @PinkFizz1, it updates with new appointments as soon as I make them but I never had an accurate dating scan (wee one was upside down and refusing to move) so I haven't experienced having to update my dates!

13 weeks is too early for "baby brain" but my memory is like a sieve this week. Husband asked me to empty the washing machine while he was out yesterday and I instantly forgot about it. Think I need to start writing notes to myself or setting alarms 😂
