Good luck to everyone with scans today (and this week!) so exciting!

I made it through the first night by myself with the 4 kids! (2 human and 2 canine!) just today and tonight to go! My bed has been invaded by my 10 month old DS who thought it was time to get up at 5.30 but I'll take the cuddles while he wants to give them! DD runs away when I ask for a cuddle now! Typical toddler! 😂

lifechanginglemoncake · 06/06/2022 06:18

Hope you managed to sleep @Loudandclear - sending all the good thoughts for today.

Jampot36 · 06/06/2022 07:54

@lifechanginglemoncake i dont think scans get any easier. I've had 2 already and my 12 week isnt til 14th, can feel the anxiety starting!

Most car parks have a card payment option now if that helps!

Good luck, let us know how you get on!

lifechanginglemoncake · 06/06/2022 08:06

Thanks @Jampot36
I haven't had an early scan so this is my first one but I was just the same when I had my son.
The letter from the hospital specifically said the car park only takes change. Why????? Got to go to a different hospital as they do all the 12 and 20 week scans at this smaller one in my trust. It's 30 mins away instead of 5.

@lifechanginglemoncake perfect excuse to get a tenner out and treat yourself to a nice bar of chocolate for afterwards!

I have my booking in appointment and dating scan set for next week. Had to push the booking in original date as it clashed with a work trip at the end of this week. I'm going to a conference in Vienna, which should be lovely, except for no booze to help ease the networking conversations (particularly as I'm an introvert). 😬

I'm 11+5 today and not looking forward to getting back to work after the long weekend. At least I'm working from home today, especially with the tube strike on!

I haven't bought any proper maternity clothes yet but quite early on I had to buy the next size up for work trousers and a couple of bras. I think that was down to all the ivf hormones (over several cycles) and eating too much junk! Luckily I can wear track suits when working from home. But now my work blouses aren't fitting either --too tight across the chest, so it looks like I need to get a few next size up so I'm not popping my buttons.

When we did the paperwork for our NIPT test we checked the box to say we wanted to wait to find out the gender. But I can totally see a time when I'll be desperate to find out.

LC84 · 06/06/2022 10:15

Found you all! These threàds are filling up fast!
11w today and still got to wait til 22nd for thr dating scan it feels sooooo far away...

All my symptoms have gone now apart from bit of tiredness but am still getting over chest infection so not even sure thats pregnancy anymore!! Have had 2 early scans but doesnt seem to disperse my worries much 🙈🤣

lifechanginglemoncake · 06/06/2022 10:17

Heartbeat and most anatomy fine at the scan. Baby wasn't behaving for a dating measurement or the screening measurement. Off for a second walk but if this doesn't work they're running out of time as by my dates I'm 13+2 and with the bank holiday there's no more slots (plus, you know, I work).

Talk to me about the private screening tests. Where do you go? How much is it? When can you have it? Does it work for higher BMI?

BuchananBaby · 06/06/2022 10:32

@Jampot36 I'm going to see the killers tonight! Got absolutely nothing to wear though so god knows what I'm going to do 🙈

Good luck to everyone who has their scans over the next couple of days 🥰

Aww @Mommabear20 my daughter was up at 5.30am this morning too 😩 her sleep has been awful recently but she's furniture surfing so I think she's taking a leap and will be walking shortly. She woke me and her dad up then I brought her in with us and she fell asleep and me and DP were wide awake by then 😩

Wanderlust16 · 06/06/2022 10:49

@lifechanginglemoncake our wee one wouldn’t move to the right position either. We’ve been set an appointment for 15 weeks where they will do scans and blood tests to do some of the screening tests. They should explain all of that after your walk if they haven’t moved yet! I hope you’re doing ok!

TeamBluex3 · 06/06/2022 10:53

Hi Ladies 🙂been lurking around this group since thread 1 started as i found out i was expecting on mothers day! Wanted to wait till i knew everything was 100% okay as didn't want to jinx myself, well thats how i felt about it as i have 3 beautiful boys & also had 3 recurrent misscarriages (last one was in october after seeing a HB at 6 & half weeks!).. 5 months later i've fallen pregnant again for the 7th time but looks like this little bambino is here to stay 😊currently 14 weeks & 1 day today & due on the 4th December so this makes baby number 4 for us.. also just want to say goodluck to all those going for their scans this week too ❤

Mommabear20 · 06/06/2022 10:56

@BuchananBaby aww bless her! How old is she? DS has wanted nothing but cuddles so far this morning, he's a little bit warm too so think he's possibly coming down with something 😢 The kids and I are supposed to be out for dinner with my mum and her boyfriend tonight so gonna have to see how he goes the rest of the day as to whether we go.

Hi, I can see from other people that when they didn't get a clear scan they were told to move around or walk then go back. I wasn't given that opportunity! I just got told to go back for bloods for the Down syndrome screening and I'm not even getting another scan that day just the bloods which is next week. I did get a photo of my baby and the wee one was measuring fine she said but now I'm anxious that if something was wrong she didn't pick it up. The baby was moving a lot and waving legs and arms lol but it's not a clear baby shape like a lot of scans being posted. I'm probably just over worrying as usual but has anyone else had this? My 20 week scan is 5 weeks away and feels like an eternity!

Jampot36 · 06/06/2022 11:16

@lifechanginglemoncake hopefully the walk jiggles baby around!
I googled private ultrasound clinics near me, checked reviews and that was it. Cost £50.

@BuchananBaby where are you seeing them? I'm so excited for Saturday. I've got either a roomy sainsburys jumpsuit or i can still fit into my stretchy leather leggings with a long top. I figure comfort is key!

Well funnily enough i had my scan last monday and baby was completly upside down! Sonographer told to lift my bum up & wiggle my hips like shakira 😂i am suprised you wasn't given the chance to wiggle to see if baby would move, sounds unfair! I've felt abit worried as she couldn't take measurement of the fluid behind baby's head but she did say "it looks fine" 😕 i suppose they are trained aren't they & will know if something was to not look right so try not to worry too much hun but i do understand x

hopefulsunshine11 · 06/06/2022 11:28

@TeamBluex3 Aww lol. Tbh the baby was moving so I don't have concerns there it's just that she couldn't get the measurements and thought she'd maybe let me have another scan when I went back for the bloods to check fluid etc. I know, they are trained but it just felt so rushed! I am a panicker though so that doesn't help.

TeamBluex3 · 06/06/2022 11:33

@hopefulsunshine11 just figured out how to tag rather than quote your whole comment 😂 can tell im a newbie to mumsnet! & yes i suppose its easier said than done so don't actually listen to me as i too am a natural worrier.. well hopefully when you get the bloods back everything will be okay (sure it will be) 😀 when is your 20 week scan then? x

hopefulsunshine11 · 06/06/2022 11:40

@TeamBluex3 lol it took me a while to figure out too. I know, I'm sure it's happened to lots of women. It's not until 14th July. I am teetering on getting a private scan but can't make my mind up! When will your next scan be? I also found out on Mothers Day 😍

TeamBluex3 · 06/06/2022 11:51

@hopefulsunshine11 mine is on 19th July 😀 and me too 😂 i have been in two minds whether to get an early gender scan or not (could get 1 from 15 weeks so next week) but then apart of me is thinking well what could i spend £69 on instead 😂 Their so expensive i think! So apart of me thinks 6 weeks will fly byyy & atleast its free! 😂

Hi ladies

So glad I found the new post! I kept getting an error on the last one when trying to post and couldn't understand why!

The weekend has been quiet for me had a little sickness feeling yesterday evening but for the most part it's gone now. Struggling with sleeping at night though! Is anyone else?

Our next scan is 21st and it seems to be dragging so much! I have the diabetes glucose test on Thursday though which seems far earlier than when I was having my daughter as I will be 11 weeks then. Has anyone else had it that early yet?

Jaaxe · 06/06/2022 12:29

@Ababy0506 thank you! Nice to have people to talk to, I’ve just booked my 12 week scan this morning, it’s in 2 weeks. Going off my period my due date would be New Year’s Day but I hope you guys don’t mind me being on this group as opposed to the January one because when I spoke to the consultant last week she said given my history they would plan for an elective csection at 38weeks for me….so I’m looking just before Xmas instead 😬 are people getting morning sickness still? I seem to get it in an evening, don’t know if it’s indigestion or sickness tho but I just feel nauseous a lot x

Chanel05 · 06/06/2022 13:11

@tasha4eva10 that seems really early for it! Mine is at 28 weeks my midwife told me. My mum has type 2 diabetes and I lied when I had my dd to say that no relatives of mine had it to avoid the glucose test 😂. I forgot this time and mentioned it in my booking appointment, so now I have to have it 🙄.

@Jaaxe welcome! Is this your second (or more)? I'm 11+1 and I have nausea pretty much all waking hours and often when I wake up in the night it hits me too 🤦‍♀️. I had it until 16 weeks with my daughter so I know I've likely got a while left of it.
