@Prema112 @unknownscot I have a fertility baby too good luck ladies xx

Starbeach · 08/06/2022 16:08

anyone know if a sudden increase in acid reflux is a sign labour will be starting soon

Prema112 · 08/06/2022 16:57

@Annabell1 amazing how differently people react! Hope you're doing ok with the contractions.

@Starbeach thank you!

They were just about to put propess in for me and discovered I'm 5cm dilated. Did not know you could be that and not be having contractions. She gave me a sweep and I'm back in 24 hours to have waters broken if nothing happens tonight. Come on baby!!

unknownscot · 08/06/2022 18:01

What is Propess? 🙈 is that the 24h one that's like a tampon?

I got the 6h one.
That's me just had my second pessary x

Prema112 · 08/06/2022 18:07

@unknownscot Yes! 6 hour ones sound good!

Jammymare · 08/06/2022 18:42

Midwife attempted but failed to do a sweep today, 2/5 engaged but cervix posterior long and closed 🙁
induction booked for 16th June when I’ll be 41 weeks, but I really want to avoid it if possible. Came straight home and onto Amazon to order raspberry leaf tea bags and clary sage oil. I’ve already been over consuming chillies and curries and getting my 10k steps in, any other tips to try?

Rolledthedice · 08/06/2022 18:46

@Jammymare are you also eating 6 dates a day? That seems to be one of the only DIY methods that’s backed up by studies! I believe the intention is to tone the uterus for a more efficient labour.

beansprout55 · 08/06/2022 18:49

@Starbeach not sure but I hope so as mines come back with a vengeance these past few days! Baby beansprout was also conceived with a little help, think there's 5/6 of us in this group.
@Prema112 and @unknownscot, praying your babies will come tonight and all goes smoothly! So exciting! Will be checking in to see if there are any updates from you both until it happens. Eeeeeekk 🙈🥰 xxx

Jammymare · 08/06/2022 18:50

@Rolledthedice i have a huge pack of dates that I bought a few weeks ago with the intention of working my way up to the 6 a day by 38 weeks, but they are the one food that genuinely still makes me nauseous! I think the only way I could eat them would be in a sticky toffee pudding and I’m not sure that’s quite the same 🤣

Rolledthedice · 08/06/2022 18:54

@Jammymare I hate the taste of dates too! Find them far too sweet and sickly. But my OH has found a way for me to drink them instead - I soak 6 dates in hot water for a minute, slice them into smaller chunks and then blend together with almond or cashew milk. It’s much easier to drink that then eat sickly dates. 😊

Rolledthedice · 08/06/2022 19:00

I’m struggling to keep up with all the new arrivals but just wanted to say how wonderful it is to see all the gorgeous new babies everyday! 🥰 Good luck to those who are so very nearly there! 🤞🏻😊 I’m 39 weeks and had no signs of anything other then putting my back out today after stupidly lifting a chair. Just trying to chill and let labour happen when it’s time. Also still having acid reflux @Starbeach, but I don’t think it’s a sign of labour.

destiEos · 08/06/2022 19:20

Good luck @Prema112 and @unknownscot - hope your little ones come soon 🤞🏻💕

unknownscot · 08/06/2022 22:36

I'm being so so sick with it all. Not looking like I'll get third and final pessary. Will see how it goes.

beansprout55 · 08/06/2022 23:08

@Rolledthedice and @Jammymare - I hate dates, so DH made me these. He probably put loads more in to get me eating more! Goes SO nicely with a glass of cold milk at 3am.

thehappyfoodie.co.uk/recipes/melissa-hemsleys-no-bake-chewy-nutty-bars/

@unknownscot are you ok? Why won't they give you another?xxx

unknownscot · 08/06/2022 23:42

Just as I'm reacting so painfully to them. Next examination in half an hour so hopefully progressed enough to go to labour suite but will see.

I'll keep you posted.

Next pain relief option is morphine which always makes me sick but it's my only option so may need to try

unknownscot · 09/06/2022 00:15

Third pessary in.
Not much change in cervix 🙁

beansprout55 · 09/06/2022 00:24

Gosh! What time did you have your first? Really hope this one isn't so painful for you. Has your partner had to leave for the night too?
Are you able to have the morphine now?
xx

needarainbow · 09/06/2022 00:29

@Rolledthedice @Jammymare I'm another one who has really struggled with eating the dates! Tried a few different ways of getting them into me quickly but I've found the best and quickest way for me is to have a large glass of juice, take one date with a large mouthful of juice and just quickly chew chew and then swallow with the juice. Usually gets it over and done with in a couple of minutes and makes it feel less like I'm doing a bushtucker trial each night 😂.

Too many to name but huge congratulations to everyone who has had their babies! 💕 thoroughly enjoying the cute baby pics on fb and reading everyone's different birth experiences! Feeling a little bit jealous and impatient 😂

MrsNT · 09/06/2022 04:57

Almost 38 pages to this thread..might have to do a due in June Thread 13 soon!!

Jammymare · 09/06/2022 05:34

Maybe I will persevere with the dates then, lots of suggestions to try!
I had pretty painful period like cramps quite low down for about an hour last night. Was just starting to get my hopes up when they fizzled out. Assuming that the attempted sweep irritated my cervix maybe 🤷‍♀️
happy due date to everyone else due today

Prema112 · 09/06/2022 06:20

@unknownscot So sorry to hear it's been so painful, how're you doing now?

@Annabell1 & @Brightsmoke how's it going for you both?

My waters will be broken today so things are about to kick off 💦😬👶🏻

Prema112 · 09/06/2022 06:22

@Starbeach @beansprout55 @CurryandSnuggle thanks so much ladies.

Baby beansprout is the cutest name! Wish I'd picked a user name that was cute on a baby 😂

Prema112 · 09/06/2022 06:24

Also whoever asked about inducing labour at home, I have done EVERYTHING they suggest to get this baby out and nothing worked. I think some babies are just stubborn! Oh the only thing I didn't do actually was acupuncture so maybe try that!

CurryandSnuggle · 09/06/2022 07:27

The only thing that wirje

MrsNT · 09/06/2022 07:28

Ive been having contractions 20min apart since 8pm last night..reduced to about 15 min then 6min and now going back to 15! Almost 12 hrs now since started. Is this false labour or early labour? Called hospital and they said only come in when it gets to 5 or 4min or water bursts. Really confused regarding is this real or not as its my 1st time
