Yey @Vimto1991 she's finally here!! I'm so so pleased your labour is over you poor thing. She is beautiful and looks so peaceful! So sorry you had to go through all that, wishing you a quick recovery with lots of baby cuddles ❤️

Prema112 · 07/06/2022 15:04

@Octoblockisadick That's so sweet about your daughter, I hope my son is the same. He gives my bump a cuddle goodnight every night ❤️

RooSut25 · 07/06/2022 15:50

@Prema112 she's in newborn size and they're huge on her - she was 3.31kg (7lb 4oz) at birth so pretty much average. We were expecting her to be massive (97 percentile) from growth scans but fortunately they were way off. I would have thought unless your boy is huge they should fit fine!

destiEos · 07/06/2022 18:08

Oh my - so many new babies!! Congratulations all of you 💕

@PlodandPod lovely photos on the fb group and congrats again! @EarlGreywithLemon, congrats and glad you got childcare all sorted in time, your hospital accom sounds very grand! I could see Wormwood Scrubs from my hospital bed 🤣 @pregnancydiaries congratulations, I'm also biased cos Harry looks a bit like mine 😉, also love his blue bunny! @RooSut25 love the name Lyra, congratulations and nice going on the textbook labour!

As for nipple pain - loads of advice from all and sundry, including every midwife, all different obviously! Personally, I'm usually wincing on latch and then it fades as he carries on munching... Sometimes it continues for the feed and then I need to skip a boob feed eventually to let them recover, and go for a pure formula feed (usually I'm one latch per boob, as long as he lasts and then top-up with formula). Yesterday afternoon I was at wits end, today he's been latching and very little pain...sighs... From what I understand after initial latch, pain should fade and that is usually what I've experienced. @fpeg I haven't actually expressed at all, just boob and bottle - I'm not even sure how much of the pain is caused by tongue tie and hire much is just "ouch he's sucking on my damn nipples!" 😕 thanks for solidarity, much appreciated 🙏🏻 @Octoblockisadick - I felt the same yesterday, thinking it wasn't worth it and today seems to have gone really well...?!? Also, I hadn't even thought that baby's getting bottle fed anyway, so the nipple shields are no big deal as @fpeg and @mrkb mentioned! ☺️ I'm blaming information overload...

@fpeg just wanted to mention that DH has very strong anti-circumcision feelings (and he's not) but I can certainly see why this is causing issues for you and your other half. I hadn't ever given it much thought personally, but realised years ago talking to DH that it's a very emotive issue. Glad to hear you're both sounding like a reasonable conversation is on the cards, good luck 🤞🏻

@Vimto1991 - yay! Finally! Congratulations 💕🥳🌷 worth it all, I'm sure!

Also crying every day over here. Mostly happy tears, but definitely overwhelmed a lot and emotionally fragile. Loving this space though, glad you're all here with me 🙏🏻❤️

destiEos · 07/06/2022 18:10

Quick one - John Lewis Newborn are huge for little one (born 7lb 8oz), he's in Tiny Newborn from there. Morrisons, Tesco and Primark's Newborn size fit him perfectly though, so worth checking the actual weight they specify for their sizes!

Prema112 · 07/06/2022 18:22

@destiEos & @RooSut25 yeah I think I remembered next being huge, I've got tiny baby and newborn from there so hopefully tiny baby will fit him, he's a week late but has always measured small so should be ok.

@unknownscot How you feeling about tmw? (unless you've had your baby naturally today?!!) I'm nervous and excited!

aus12 · 07/06/2022 18:33

Has anyone’s waters broken naturally? What does it feel like? And is it a lot of water?
I think mine might of just broken but I’m not sure as it wasn’t much. I was sat down & bent down to take my leggings off & had a gush of water. Enough to leave a patch on the bed where I was sat, my underpants & also my hand as I moved it there as a reflex 🤷🏼‍♀️ definitely not wee as I’ve smelt my hand. No other signs of labour, just the sudden gush of water.
I’m 38wks today & due to see the midwife tomorrow so not sure if I should go to hospital for them to check or just wait till tomorrow.

beansprout55 · 07/06/2022 18:41

@Vimto1991 yay yay!! I too feel like I've been waiting for baby Vimto's birth almost as much as my own for some reason 😂
She is so so scrumptious!! Did you know you were having a girl, I forget?
What an ordeal you've been through. When you're feeling up to it let us know how you're getting on. Must have been such a shock to end up having a section, bless you. So so happy that she's here safe and sound, finally xx

unknownscot · 07/06/2022 18:41

@Prema112
I'm just excited now - after years of fertility treatment and three rounds of IVF I am just so excited to have a baby in my arms.

I'm being as positive as possible and open to everything, I'm telling myself I'll be home by Sunday hopefully (I'm really hoping sooner!) 😂

How are you?

X

annie1994 · 07/06/2022 18:51

@aus12 I think you should call your maternity triage as I’m pretty sure they will want to see you if your waters have gone! I think from when your waters go they like you to deliver baby within 24 hours to prevent infection x

Prema112 · 07/06/2022 18:59

@aus12 definitely go to triage, they can easily test whether it's your waters or not, sounds like it might be

Prema112 · 07/06/2022 19:09

@unknownscot I love your positivity it's helping me to feel positive too! Have also been waiting many years for this baby and had IVF. Best of luck tmw and I hope we are both home by the weekend!

unknownscot · 07/06/2022 19:56

@Prema112
Are you on the Facebook group? I don't know how to message on Mumsnet app so could keep in touch on Facebook tomorrow 😂

laurenGame · 07/06/2022 20:07

@aus12 I've been having this for weeks - water gushing when I bend over too sharply to pick sometning up, or when I get in the car too quickly. With me it's Just discharge I've been told at triage. 🤷‍♀️

@annie1994 @hellointhere I finish work tomorrow so two more days but I seem to be struggling. Said some mean things to my mum who's driving me insane and telling me I'm doing everything wrong. Then painting it as if she's Just being caring and I'm being crazy. I swear she's gaslighting me.
It's not like me to be mean to people and not to cope with things so that's why I feel awful and like I'm struggling.

Couldn't sleep last night cos of it, 5 hours of tossing and turning and up for work again now Sad

Annabell1 · 08/06/2022 00:43

@PlodandPod @pansytub @pregnancydiaries @RooSut25 @EarlGreywithLemon @Vimto1991 Congratulations to all of you! So many gorgeous new babies in our group! ❤️ All the best and a speedy recovery.
@Vimto1991 I'm glad you finally got to meet your baby girl! 💕

I was induced yesterday as well because of low amniotic fluid and static growth. I'm on the second pessary (propess) now and the first one got me to 1cm but since things have been really slow. Looks like it will take a few days. Hopefully I will meet my little baby girl soon. ☺️

CurryandSnuggle · 08/06/2022 05:55

Thank you so much everyone ❤️ And congratulations to all the other mummy’s who have delivered. Beautiful babies ❤️

@Prema112 sorry for delay, things have been manic the last few days with visitors, settling in at home, recovering etc. Ruby is clusterfeeding as well but I’m hoping my milk has started coming in 🤞 but in answer to your question, my son absolutely loves her to bits, saying how cute she is and how much he loves her. He is less nervous about holding her now than he was when we first brought her home.

Whats happening re: your birth, are you being induced? Xx

Letsbekindplease · 08/06/2022 07:56

Congratulations @CurryandSnuggle abd @Vimto1991 wonderful news.

good luck @Annabell1 hopefully it’s not too long and you will have your little bundle in your arms.

@laurenGame try not to worry. My mum was the same when I had my son. I remember having a full scale argument with her in mothercare because she was asking me a million questions about if I had this that and other things for the baby. Things she knew I didn’t have but seemed she was making a point in me having them. (A top and tail basin. Who even knew that was a thing). Anyway, we had a huge argument because I felt she was gaslighting me too lol. Your hormones are all over the place and she will know that. Don’t stress or worry.

it’s my due date today. Still no signs of any sort of labour.
I wanted to ask a mucus plug question though. This makes me sick just typing it, but I need some sort of hope here. Last 2 days I’ve had a green snot type of discharge. Not clear or any traces of blood through it. Is this just discharge or is it part of the plug?
my last pregnancy it was more clear and snotty like. Sorry to anyone eating breakfast

im having major anxiety about being induced 12 days from now because it seems far too late.

Prema112 · 08/06/2022 08:59

@unknownscot I've found you on Facebook group and messaged you! X

Prema112 · 08/06/2022 09:55

@Annabell1 Joining you on the induction today! How are you finding the propess? Are you having contractions?

@CurryandSnuggle That's so lovely!! Induction today as despite my best efforts this baby does not wanna budge!

PlodandPod · 08/06/2022 10:13

@Letsbekindplease I'm no expert but mine was clear and came away in parts like clear mucus for about a week, and then I had the bloody show on Saturday (delivered Sunday evening). It was slightly yellow at times but not green, it may be worth mentioning to the midwife that it is green just for some reassurance xx

OP posts:
annie1994 · 08/06/2022 10:27

@laurenGame you’re so so close to mat leave, you’ve got this!! I would see how you get on, if you’re still struggling a lot once finished work, maybe it’s worth mentioning to the midwife? Most likely just the hormones, discomfort and stress but just incase it’s any mental health illness, better to nip it in the bud.

@Letsbekindplease I personally would talk with midwife as I’m not sure if green is ‘normal’ so to be safe I would check!

CurryandSnuggle · 08/06/2022 10:50

Aww @Prema112 good luck, I’ll be thinking of you. You’re so close to meeting your baby! 🥰

@LetsbekindpleaseThanks a lot 💕
@Prema112 I hope everything will go smooth for you. 🤞🏻 The first Propess started my contractions but they got a bit too strong (6 in 10min, almost back to back) so they removed it again and a few hours later I got the second one. So I have been contracting for 1.5 days now. I'm generally coping well but it is quite exhausting.
The lady next to me however, is on her third Propess without contractions. It really shows how different everyone reacts to it. All the best, keep me posted 🍀

unknownscot · 08/06/2022 13:45

First pessary in - I'm on the 6h ones, not the 24h tampon looking one - will see how it's gone at around 5:30pm tonight
