I’ve been up for hours so uncomfortable and acid reflux. I’ve got the obstetrician today so hoping to book in my c section. Still not sure on little man’s position but have a scan for that - not till Wednesday though so a bit annoying it’s after my obs appointment!

@Vimto1991 how are you getting on? Hope things are progressing for you 🤞🏼

well, we did the deed last night after me
saying We wouldn’t be and it did nothing. I don’t exactly know what I'm
expecting to happen, but it would have been good for the sex to happen then hours later labour to be brought on haha. Sadly, it doesn’t work like that! Not for me anyway!! I had the worst braxton hicks though. Most of the evening was full on proper pains. Couldn’t sleep for hours. Feeling fine today. Back on the tea, ball and pineapple. Due date is Wednesday. Fingers crossed something happens over the next few days

@Vimto1991 im crossing all my fingers and toes that today is the day for you. I’m in awe of your perseverance, I’d have had a meltdown by now!
@Letsbekindplease are you me? We DTD last night too, all it did was wake up the baby and give me the most horrendous lightning crotch on and off until about 4am and nothing since. Not even a show. Due date Thursday, but I did persuade my midwife to book a sweep a day early so heading in Wednesday morning for a rummage…

@Jammymare I’ve been close to many meltdowns 😅 yesterday was the worst when it took ages to get pain relief haha! I just have to have to end goal in sight, no matter how tired or painful this journey is. 😤

my MIL is the sort of woman that said she wants to see the baby straight away and will camp outside the house if she has to. If I give birth today (with a possible stay due to my thyroid), I’d rather not see anyone until the weekend just so I can recover from this week. Is that unreasonable do you think? My own parents are very chilled and would be fine, it’s just MIL who’d get angry.

@Jammymare haha. Horrible isn’t it! Similar to you, my sweep is Thursday. Hence why trying sex because I had hoped I wouldn’t have to get one. I know I don’t need to have one, but I feel I want to try anything that could help. If I go early then it’s a bonus. Good luck

@Vimto1991 i think it depends on your OH, if you can trust him to be firm with her and she’ll listen to him I’d be inclined to let her have a half hour visit sooner, but if he’s a pushover with his mum then set some boundaries now!
In my case it’s my partner wanting to ban visitors for the first week, whereas I’m a bit more why don’t we just see how we feel.

@fpeg tha is for sharing your mum’s tip. I am definitely going to try that one - genius!

@CurryandSnuggle congratulations. I LOVE the name ruby, it’s my cousin’s.

@Jammymare & @Letsbekindplease I would definitely recommend getting the sex in before a sweep. I've had bloody discharge ever since my first sweep and it's pretty sore down there so sex is off the table for us. I did have an extremely spicy curry last night...

Anyone got a positive induction story for me? I'm feeling quite sad about finally conceding to one on Wednesday and nervous it's going to be horrendous. Also did anyone try castor oil to bring on labour? I keep looking at the bottle and wondering if I should go for it 😬

Honestly, most stories I've heard are positive. We have no idea how our bodies will react so can't plan but just keep focus on breathing and relaxing. Take lots of snacks and lots of movies.

Ask if you're allowed out to walk about etc, I'm allowed to walk around the hospital so I'll be as active as I can.

At least we know there will be a baby at the end of this unknown!

@Jammymare he would be firm with her tbf, and I did always say we will see how we get on day by day, I just worry she’d turn up out the blue and expect to stay all day. 😩

thanks everyone for your positive thoughts. I really hope today is the day, I am tired of contractions!! Anyone had a back to back birth and have any recommendations? I was going into this birth with a water birth and gas and air in mind but I am tempted to go with an epidural because it’s like I’m being stabbed in the spine every 6 minutes for a minute. I can’t even sit down at the moment. 🙃 just pacing my room (thankfully I am solo in here!)

Yesterday I was feeling what I thought would be contractions or braxton hicks, I wasn't sure (FTM), went to the hospital only to be told (after being there for 3 hours) and it turns out that it was just extremely strong kicks from baby! I feel so stupid for dragging my husband there in the evening and wasting the hospital staff time for nothing...They also checked my cervix and it is pretty closed so baby will not be coming any time soon

@Brightsmoke its not hurting or sore. But when i try to express..u know how nipple has multiple ducts...one of them is bleeding rest is ok. Tried again this morning for a second to see if cleared but hasnt. Have got midwife appt so will check with her later today

Hope you're doing okay.

I agree, think a 30-45 min visit is worth it rather than the hassle of not allowing her to visit.
Ensure your partner knows that after that time he needs to ask her to leave if she doesn't by herself!

Baby girl arrived overnight at home as planned - thanks all for the support on this thread. I've not been the biggest contributor but feeling part of this community has made a huge difference to my pregnancy and now birth! Good luck to all those with babies yet to arrive - I'm still in shock!

Anyone know if I do have to go Im 38+4 whether they would just give me an emergency section? my C section is booked in for the 16th as she is currently breech and refuses to move
