Anyone else due January 2023?! Found out yesterday I'm pregnant with baby #2. If my dates are right, I'm 3+6, due 27th January! My daughters a Jan baby, but was due feb (she was 3 weeks early). May just must be a very fertile month for us! We fell pregnant last May too, but never met them😢.

@Kerryw93 Good luck for today!

Pickle0901 · 20/06/2022 09:37

@Kerryw93 good luck today! Let us know how you get on! Hoping it turns your nerves to excitement. And we told my partners family yesterday at Father's Day lunch and my family after the scan. Keeping it to close family for now. Although one of my best friends guessed at 6weeks because I wasn't drinking so she is sworn to secrecy too.... x

TokenGinger · 20/06/2022 11:58

I hope your scan goes okay today, @Kerryw93.

I've started to tell a few people - my mum, dad, brothers and best friend. I feel like, if something does go wrong, they're the people I will want support from, if that makes sense? So it felt right to tell them x

Kerryw93 · 20/06/2022 16:30

Hey guys!!!

The scan went well!! Bean is 7+5, the exact day calculated by ovulation (my cycles are 32 days) so so happy and relieved!

Absolutely understand that telling close people are the ones you need support from. I've told my work colleagues and close friends as I liked having their support on my EMC.

Baby January 2023!
Laurzz · 20/06/2022 19:45

@Kerryw93 amazing! So glad everything went well 🙂

Kerryw93 · 20/06/2022 19:46

Thankyou @Laurzz !!!

How are you feeling today?

EDD 1st Feb.

Laurzz · 20/06/2022 19:57

@Kerryw93 I don't feel pregnant at all. Last few days been feeling good and energetic. I'll be 11 weeks tomorrow. I'm not sure if it's good or bad 🤔.

How you been? The sickness gone?

Kerryw93 · 20/06/2022 21:34

The lady who done the scan told me that the umbilical cord was developed and that soon the placenta (maybe next week) will take over and I'll feel better (I've been feeling rather sick) . So maybe it's your placenta taken over sweet? Xx

bedfordmum22 · 21/06/2022 23:44

Hi everyone. I'm due around 15th Jan. Got my 12 week scan on 4th July x

bedfordmum22 · 21/06/2022 23:46

Hi and congratulations! Have you had your 12 week scan yet ? X

TokenGinger · 22/06/2022 21:41

Hi ladies, how are you all getting on?

A frustrating one for me today. I have a genetic disorder which is fatal to boys. There's a 50/50 chance I would pass it on to a baby. In my last pregnancy, once it was determined DS was a boy, I had regular scans, fortnightly, consultant-led care and was basically just looked after really well. Generally, I'd be expected to miscarry, if the boy did have it, by 16 weeks but there are instances where women have carried to full term and baby has died at birth.

Anyway, I digress. Last week I had the blood tests to determine the sex. I got a phone call today and thought it was the results, but it was the Genetic Counsellor saying that the sample had failed so I had to go and give more blood. So it's going to be another week or two when we know.

I just feel so full of anxiety over it. Knowing won't make a huge difference, it's just knowing what I'm dealing with. If it's a girl, I'll know the miscarriage risk is low and that she could survive with the condition. And if it's a boy, I know at I'm risk which isn't pleasant, but it feels better than not knowing.

Fingers crossed the results don't take too long.

Kerryw93 · 23/06/2022 18:31

@TokenGinger I have no words of comfort but I am so sorry to hear this. Really preying for the best results!!
I know it must be a horrible wait to see what baby is. But really preying for the best. Xx

TokenGinger · 23/06/2022 20:27

Thank you so much @Kerryw93 ❤️ That's really sweet of you xx

Hey everyone,
I'm new here 🙂 10+2 weeks, due 23rd Jan, this is my first and I've no idea what to expect.
Had some mild nausea and tender breasts but no sickness thankfully.
Got my 12 week scan booked for 11th July, I know it's not long off now but I'm debating whether to get a private early scan as I want to tell family and close friends but want to be sure first. It doesn't feel real yet but hoping it will feel more real if I can see baby on screen and have a picture.
Got 2 big work functions coming up in July (one is before my scan) and dreading them as don't know how I'm going to get away with not drinking without it being obvious I'm pregnant. I'm not ready to tell work yet, waiting on a promotion which is dragging on so want to make sure this is secure before I announce my pregnancy 😬

Hi all,

So happy to finally be able to move from a TTC forum and over to a pregnancy one! I'm new here :)

According to all my apps, I'm 10+1 weeks today and due 19th Jan 2023 and have my 12 week scan on 6th July. We already had a 7 week scan as I'm a fraternal twin and so are my younger siblings, so risk of multiples, but it showed only one baby measuring at roughly 7 weeks and even saw the heart beating!

At 9+2 weeks morning sickness hit me like a ton of bricks - couldn't keep anything down for days and now seems to have settled a little. It comes on strong around 5am (so I have to keep biscuits by my bed for an early morning snack), if I let myself get hungry, if I walk too soon after eating, and at the smell or sight of some things like tea, coffee, garlic, baked beans, mushrooms and simply picking up raw meat still in it's packaging - that one I found out in front of the ASDA delivery driver on Monday and started dry heaving over some duck legs 😂

I suffered with bloating really bad in the first couple weeks but it's gone now and my stomach feels like it's hardening a little and I'm noticing a very tiny bump!

We've already jumped the gun and told both our immediate families as we'd been trying for 13/14 months so figured if the worse happens, we'll have the support. Just counting down the days for the 12 week scan now, but hoping this sudden morning sickness is a good sign.

Wishing everyone here a happy, safe and healthy pregnancy and can't wait for all the January announcements 😍

x

@Charlie023 I feel you with the trying to hide the pregnancy - the week we found out we had 4 birthday celebrations (May is a busy month for us) and each one everyone was enjoying a few drinks. I ordered my drinks at the bar away from everyone and asked for either a mocktail or a rose lemonade to be served in a wine glass to make it look like an alcoholic drink - no one suspected a thing!

I know exactly what you mean re: a private scan. I have my 12 week scan on the 7th July and a part of me is so tempted to book in for a scan just to check it's still there. I think when you have so few symptoms, it's easy to convince yourself something might have gone wrong 😩

Awww, we're so close together. My due date is 16th Jan.

I hear you on the sickness! I didn't suffer with it in my first pregnancy but I have this time around. Though since I hit 10 weeks, it seems to have gone and I was reading that this week the placenta begins to function so sickness can reduce once baby isn't taking everything from you. Fingers crossed you get some relief xx

Babycakes1989 · 25/06/2022 10:44

It’s so nice to hear some peoples sickness/nausea is easing at 10 weeks like mine! I’m 10+3 and feel best I've felt since finding out 🙂

lilroo87 · 25/06/2022 10:51

My sickness has been nowhere near as bad this pregnancy. My first pregnancy was awful from 6 weeks to 14 weeks but this time so far it's just waves of nausea on odd days. Thankfully! I'm 9+1 today

KayC19 · 25/06/2022 12:10

@TokenGinger so close! I’m curious if mine will change when I have the dating scan, but I like that we’re having a winter baby. All the kids in our family amongst friends and family are born between May - Early August, so nice to spread it out 😅 oh so glad to hear your sickness eased around week 10! Today is the first day I’ve woken up feeling myself again - actually washed my hair and did my makeup and even put on some jewellery. Since Saturday last week I’ve just had no energy, so it’s nice to feel more upbeat!

TokenGinger · 29/06/2022 13:15

How are you getting on, ladies?

I'm feeling really anxious this week. It's been a fortnight since the scan I had at 9 weeks, and another week until my 12 week scan and I just feel so worried that it may no longer be there, or something has happened. I feel like the first trimester is the trickiest. The risk of miscarriage is the highest and there are so few appointments or opportunities to check baby is still there, and I just feel a week until the next scan is so bloody long.

I've toyed with the idea of booking a private scan just to check all is okay, but then I worry I'm being too much of a worrier!

Laurzz · 29/06/2022 13:35

@TokenGinger just feeling anxious but got my 12 week scan on Friday.

Friday will be my first scan but i've convinced myself there will be no heartbeat but i need to stop being soo negative. Easier said than done when you've been though a previous loss.

Hang on in there, your almost there!

Did you get any further with the situation around the sex of the baby? That will be adding to your anxiety.

TokenGinger · 29/06/2022 13:56

@Laurzz Ah two more days! I hope it all goes okay for you. I know exactly what you mean, that's my exact fear but let's think positive and focus on a wonderful experience for you ❤️

I still haven't had the results 😞 I initially had the blood tests on the 15th, then got a call on the 22nd to say the sample had failed. I have no idea why - maybe they didn't take enough blood or something. So I had to go and give another blood sample on the 22nd and I was hoping I'd get the results today, as it took a week between the first sample and the test to fail, and it's been another week now, but I haven't had a call. I did call up the genetics department earlier to see if there's been any results but the Secretary just said she'd send a message to my Genetic Counsellor and I haven't heard back.

I do think you're right though, it's definitely adding to my anxiety. I was worrying did the sample fail because there's no baby there anymore and they needed to double check that with a second sample, but I think I'm just being paranoid xx

Laurzz · 29/06/2022 14:07

@TokenGinger aw thank you! I'll keep you all updated.

How frustrating, especially when these results are so important to your babies health. Sounds like they haven't taken enough blood and the error is on them. Probably is a degree of paranoia but I completely get it I'd be the same.

Hopefully you get your results this afternoon 💕
