TTC24 · 19/05/2022 09:32

Anyone else due January 2023?! Found out yesterday I'm pregnant with baby #2. If my dates are right, I'm 3+6, due 27th January! My daughters a Jan baby, but was due feb (she was 3 weeks early). May just must be a very fertile month for us! We fell pregnant last May too, but never met them😢.

@H44123 Well it sounds like your just going to be preg now until your old lol 😂 I’m sure your story will be one of those ‘least expected to go into labour while doing the dishes’ stories. Very excited to hear it when it comes time !

I think the thrush may be itchier if your blood circulation is building down there ready for labour. Fingers crossed itl clear up once baby arrives.

i went out this morning and the midwife came when i was out. So they’re coming back tomorrow but she was ok about it, but I needed to go out to the shop and they said they don’t give a specific time to visit which is frustrating if you want to go out and get some fresh air etc .

H44123 · 02/02/2023 15:21

@Jusmakingit yep I think I will be pregnant forever at this rate.

Yes I read they don’t give times when they visit which I find a bit silly. You can’t be expected to stay in all day just waiting around but at least they are coming back. Glad you’re getting out and about, must be nice now to try and get on with normal life now baby is here!

I hope it clears when baby comes… I read it could give baby thrush which hopefully doesn’t happen but also it could be a sign of strep b. I didn’t get tested for this I don’t think and im probably panicking and reading into it too much. You can buy a test online but it takes a few days to come then waiting for results etc think I left it too late. I will just mention my issues when I ever actually go into Labour!

Jusmakingit · 04/02/2023 01:16

@H44123 hello ! How are you getting on ? Anymore pink after wiping … hope your labour starts naturally though soon and you don’t need an induction. Keep us posted !

H44123 · 04/02/2023 09:50

@Jusmakingit I’m doing OK thank you. Finally managed to convince partner to DTD last night 🤣 woke up with stomach pains along the front of my belly at the bottom but this has now gone. Not sure whether it was because I was sat up and a bit leaning on it or it was nothing. Did have quite a bit of discharge yesterday, almost like ovulation discharge but no blood or colour to it, like clear jelly.

How are you getting on? Settling into life at home with a newborn? Has your pain from your fall got better to help too? Xx

Jusmakingit · 04/02/2023 10:05

@H44123 oooo mens erm juice lol has progablin (can’t spell) in and that’s the chemical they use to induce you because that ripens the cervix so maybe something could be happening . I hope so !!

im good, bit tired lol and sadly my pelvis pain and muscle pain is back. Also my inner thighs from having them up during the birth so slight delay in my body feeling it but it defo feels like I have had a baby now lol 😂 although the ‘undercarriage’ soreness isn’t as bad today.

omg also have a few big horrible hemaroid as which best start going down soon cause I don’t want them staying lol

try get as much sleep as you can. I napped in between being induced and ate when i could , remembered from my first birth I didn’t sleep or eat for 3 days and felt horrendous and this time isn’t as bad

Kerryw93 · 04/02/2023 13:07

How are you getting on @H44123 ?!

How's the little contractions? Any more of the show?! Not long now! You're nearly there! I cantbwait for the announcement last.

@Jusmakingit are you okay?! Recovery is definitely the worse part of birth for me. It's long, dragged out and sometimes scary.

I was in A&E last night with my little one.S She had two very swollen eyes! She has an eye infection.

Struggling with breastfeeding atm. She's 11 days old and so far no formula but I want to do both so my fiance can help at night, but she won't take the bottle 🙈

Jusmakingit · 04/02/2023 17:22

@Kerryw93 i hate the recovery . I feel worst four days after birth then I did the day after. I’m not breastfeeding and have defo got mastitis - it’s sooo painful, red , swollen and rock hard . I seemed to have it in both but ones defo a lot worst. It’s literally like another boob shape coming out the side of my breast into my cleavage. I have felt hot and cold all day, headache, really drained , which are the main signs of an infected milk duct. Only noticed cause I’m having a bath but they just generally felt swollen until I saw them 😩. Got a decent nights sleep, baby only woke three times for feeds finally after a rocky start during the nights . Fingers crossed for a repeat tonight. When I went for a wee at 4 am I felt a big lump coming out of me, so wiped and there was a kidney size blood clot - it was gross 🤢. Rang the midwives and they said I would need to be checked over back on the maternity ward but then I said i feel ok and if I hadn’t of seen it I don’t think I would have noticed. It’s so tempting to breast feed to clear this mastitis but I don’t want to breast feed. Hope your ok, just keep trying baby on bottle . The help does take the pressure of you from breastfeeding exclusively. I couldn’t do it, I need the mental break and to know I’m not needed all day incase I need a nap or to go do something

x

TokenGinger · 04/02/2023 18:38

@Jusmakingit Please be careful with monitoring the mastitis. I was also really hot and cold, feverish, with the headaches etc. I rapidly got worse and when I went to the GP, was sent straight to hospital as my heart rate was so high and blood pressure high. I was in hospital for four days with baby with me on IV antibiotics and they were monitoring me on the sepsis pathway because my infection markers were so high. If you get any worse, please get it checked out xx

Jusmakingit · 04/02/2023 20:49

@TokenGinger oh god they never said anything about any of that . I have a midwife app at the hospital in the morning so I’m planning on speaking to them anyway . It’s really uncomfortable and I looked deformed. I’m worried now, I thought it was just due to my iron levels but might be mastitis getting worst :( I don’t want to go back to hospital. I’m not breastfeeding so if they need me to stay in atleast baby can be home . All the stuff we have to deal with after the baby is born . It all passes but at the moment it feels like it won’t x

H44123 · 04/02/2023 21:20

@Jusmakingit @Kerryw93 well bit disappointing nothing changed! Started with the period cramps which have now completely disappeared!! But they actually hurt quite a bit which worries me for actual Labour 🤣 if it ever happens hah!

@Jusmakingit oh no my friend had mastitis and said it was awful. Make sure you get yourself seen soon, you need to look after yourself too!

@Kerryw93 hope your little one is doing better! That worries me re breastfeeding. In an ideal world I want to breastfeed and bottle feed together, I really don’t want to breastfeed alone (that’s even if I can do it) makes me think of just going straight to formula to prevent the risk of bottle rejection!

Jusmakingit · 05/02/2023 15:23

Saw midwife who checked my boobs out and immediately called the doctor to come check. All my BP etc are fine , they wanted to keep me in on a 48 hour IV so I said is there medication I can try at home first so they said ok but if it gets worst or no improvement by Wednesday on this flucloxicillin then I will have to go in and stay but upside is baby won’t need to so atleast il be able to rest .

hows everyone else doing ?

Oh bless you. Keep an eye on it and if you feel any worse, go straight in. The infection can develop into sepsis which is a serious concern. My partner's mum died of sepsis so I was utterly terrified of the possibility of it. I really hope the antibiotics takes the edge off it quickly for you, lovely. It's such a nasty infection and so, so painful. I have so much sympathy for you ❤️

Jusmakingit · 05/02/2023 19:32

@TokenGinger its so scary isn’t it. I feel like all these things our bodies go through is exhausting already and then these risks that come with having a baby aren’t obv always talked about . It’s worth it for the baby but still , it’s scary and I don’t think women get near enough credit for what they go through. Oh and baby has colic so explains why she doesn’t sleep well. Got some infacol so really hope that is kicking in for bedtime 🥱. How’s it going your end ? X

H44123 · 06/02/2023 08:24

@Jusmakingit hope your feeling a bit better and the meds have started to kick in! Sometimes we are so focused on baby but you need to make sure you look after yourself too. How did the infacol work?

I feel so silly.. last night I honestly thought Labour started. Didn’t ring anyone or go to hospital etc but actually timed them and it was approx every 20 mins, a big cramp which felt like a wave type feeling and my bump went hard with shocking backache. I was worried my partner going to work today but said let’s see if I can sleep, if I can sleep all night it’s obviously not it. Took a while but shock I slept and woke up to nothing!

If that was BH they actually hurt and I worry how I will cope with the real thing! Or how I will ever know if it’s the real thing if I thought that was. 3rd sweep today but I’m just inclined to ask to be induced asap so I don’t have to doubt and worry when it’s actually happening! 9 days overdue now so I think I will be induced in the next few days anyway!

Jusmakingit · 06/02/2023 11:24

@H44123 that sounds exactly like I was having a few days before I was induced and exactly how I felt with the balloon induction . I really panicked and thought no way I can do this. I took my ear buds with me to hospital and listening to some good chill out accustic music when the waves of contractions hit. It really helped.

also if your induced you can get the epidural once they break your waters and I slept through most my contractions and labor until I needed to push lol it was bliss !

last night I slept on the sofa , other half spent night with baby just so I could catch up on sleep. Seems to have started to work but only evenings will tell.

my mastitis seems to have eased pain wise but still very swollen :(

H44123 · 06/02/2023 11:58

@Jusmakingit glad you had some rest, sounds like good team work. And at least your pain is easing which means it’s getting better but please keep an eye on it and if the swelling doesn’t get better speak to them asap! Don’t put yourself last!

I’m hoping she sees some progress today at my sweep. She rang me earlier and I explained the pains she said it could be latent Labour which made me feel a bit better, more so in that maybe the pains were worse than BH after all and I’m not being that dramatic. My dream would be an epidural and to sleep through all the pain! Had the occasional period type cramp today but nothing like last night. I think I’m to the point where I would prefer an induction to get an epidural from the get go and then at least I know it’s actually started whereas now I’m just like is this it?

she said my induction is booked for Thursday and they will ring me on the day with what time to go in.

Does anyone know whether they would move my induction date if by that point im 12 days over? I have read a lot of people waiting days to be induced as they keep getting pushed back with emergencies coming in which is fine I know they take priority but im worried I will then go over 2 weeks overdue?

Jusmakingit · 06/02/2023 13:20

They broke my waters, waited an hour to see if natural labout set in , it did but not really quick enough so then they said , they will do the drip to just get it all going, thats when i was like right epidural then before it gets to painful. I was having contractions when they were doing the epidural which was fun haha having to sit still through contractions. Just rest as much as you can and eat. while i waited betweent the ballon and them breaking my waters which was 9 hours, i went for a walk , ate and slept so i felt really good going into the labour room, then had the epidural then slept for like 2-3 hours while i had most contractions with going from 6cm - 10 cm , then woke up and two hours later said lets start pushing and that was it. no way i could have done it without the epidural , you can still feel the baby coming out and pushing and your on the monitor so they can see when your contraction is building to push.

its soooo frustrating the symptoms , like me having them for weeks and nothing. but those latent ones sound like the start, just a false start i guess but good to know thats the level of pain and if it keeps going then you know for sure , also they offered to induce me earlier by only one day but still always worth asking your midwife

H44123 · 06/02/2023 18:01

Had my sweep. She said the pains I am having are definitely working as the sweep was a success. She said I am about 1cm and she easily got in the cervix and it wasn’t at the back anymore. I feel relieved that I wasn’t imagining these pains as just BH so finally some progression at least.

Havent started timing anything yet as although painful i don’t think they are as bad as what people get. They might go and I can sleep again tonight 🤷🏻‍♀️ It hurts when baby moves so I’m finding it hard to know when it’s like a contraction/cramp or just baby moving. Weirdly though I feel pressure on my bowels. Not like I need the toilet as such but definitive pressure there!

I felt a lot of pressure around my bowels when I started to have contractions, when my waters broke it was the biggest relief!

H44123 · 06/02/2023 19:23

@Eeejjj thats good to know.

Im now timing my pains/cramps/contractions… approx 10 mins apart and they hurt a lot as in I have to brace and breath etc but not to the point of shouting/screaming etc which I thought I would do. They feel like a really really painful period pain. I’m just wondering when to go in hospital. Obviously I would call them beforehand but I don’t know if it would be pointless if they got closer together but not anymore painful?

When I was having contractions, I went in when my contractions were every 3/4 minutes and they did a cervical check and sent me back home because I wasn't dilated enough, so I waited until I was SCREAMING at home and went back. At that point I was 7cm dilated. It was the best thing for me personally as it stopped me from getting any pain relief which I didn't want., I literally went in to do the final pushes

Definitely go in if your waters break though!

TokenGinger · 07/02/2023 12:40

Thinking of you @H44123 and hoping you have you gorgeous little baby in your arms now ❤️

H44123 · 07/02/2023 12:47

No baby yet. Pains got quite bad last night so was up at 4am this morning. Held out to 8am and rang hospital. Said I didn’t sound in Labour or pain which annoyed me because I don’t know how you can tell if it’s between a contraction 🤷🏻‍♀️

Anyway I was shaking this morning and being sick along with the pain and went in. At my sweep yesterday midwife said a bit of protein in my urine but not to worry. Hospital today my bloody pressure kept being high and baby’s heartbeat kept dropping so was monitored for 2 hours. Registrar reviewed and said to induce today but no space to induce today or tomorrow so sent me home. Got to go back at 11am tomorrow for more monitoring so plan is induction Thursday still unless waters break or contractions get worse. Midwife said I’m contracting every 5 minutes but didn’t check how dilated I was as I had a sweep yesterday.

Glad I went in to be checked though and at least I know I’m contracting and baby is ok. Thought it’s bad though registrar said induce today but I have to wait 2 more days due to availability when they have obviously found things they are concerned about 🤷🏻‍♀️

TokenGinger · 07/02/2023 15:49

@H44123 Jesus, you poor bugger. Contractions are horrendous and to be left until Thursday with them every five minutes apart is awful. You must be absolutely exhausted. I really hope baby makes their own way here before Thursday so that it's not such a length labour for you xx

Aleks86 · 07/02/2023 18:25

hi ladies! Big update from me: we had our baby boy on Jan 28th at 8am. he was 3005g and healthy and well. we havent chosen the name yet lol

We moved to the new house on Jan 27th and went to bed. then right after midnight I started having contractions.

Around 5 am I called MAU and they told me to come in. They checked my blood preassure and assesed me and said "I dont think its labour yet from looking at you" but then after vaginal examination the midwife said "you make it look so easy, youre 5cm dilated!"

So they took me a floor below to the birth centre and I went onto a bed on all 4s, using gas and air to live through conractions but I was fine. 40mins later I said I have the urge to push, they checked me and I was 10cm! I pushed 1h 20mins and he was out with his hand on his face 🤣

everyone laughed it was such a speedy delivery. and with no interventiins, I did it all myself which Im so glad about!

Now he is feeding nicely and even sleeping 3-4 hours at a time at night after having juandice for the first few days and being poorly.

We are so in love with him we already want another baby haha!

Im feeling ok and am mobile, got a bit teary today with no reason. no depression just teary and anxious. hope thats baby blues and will pass.

I will try to catch up on your messages later xx
