Anyone else due January 2023?! Found out yesterday I'm pregnant with baby #2. If my dates are right, I'm 3+6, due 27th January! My daughters a Jan baby, but was due feb (she was 3 weeks early). May just must be a very fertile month for us! We fell pregnant last May too, but never met them😢.

Good luck on your scan ladies!!! I hope you both have really good healthy beans in there @Laurzz I totally feel you about being convinced there will be no heartbeat, that's exactly how I was!it's easy to give advice when it's not you but try stay positive. I was thinking this before my 7/8 week scan. Then to my total surprise there was a healthy bean 😍 . My 12 week scan is on the 18th but I've booked another private scan on the 11th (I didn't realise the dates were actually so close to my hospital scan 🤷🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️ .
Please post scan photos 😍 I love seeing them! Xx

Kerryw93 · 30/06/2022 17:06

@TokenGinger ,the wait must be agonising ! Truly I wish for the best outcome for you and baby. . Hopefully you'll have the results tomorrow and your mind will be at ease. Xx

Charlie023 · 30/06/2022 19:22

Decided to go for a private scan yesterday as I couldn't wait for my 12 week one, I just needed that reassurance that baby was live and developing ok.
Got to see the heartbeat and bay was waiving it's arms and legs around. I was so relieved and happy. My dates were spot on too due 23rd Jan 🙂

@Laurzz and @Kerryw93 - Thank you for the well wishes, ladies. Still no results so far. Fingers crossed for tomorrow.

@Charlie023 Look at that lovely little bean 😍 I'm so thankful that people are clinics exist and we're able to get that reassurance a little earlier. Your mind must feel at ease knowing all is okay xx

Charlie023 · 30/06/2022 23:23

@TokenGinger thank you, really hope you get some good news tomorrow xx

Laurzz · 01/07/2022 13:05

Thank you to everyone who wished me luck for today. We had a healthy 13 week old bouncing about 💕 . Due date 6th Jan.

Such a relief, hopefully I'll start to relax and enjoy pregnancy.

Hope everyone is doing and keeping well.

TokenGinger · 01/07/2022 17:03

Awwww @Laurzz, I am so happy for you! 13 weeks ❤️ First trimester complete. I'm so happy everything was okay xx

TokenGinger · 01/07/2022 17:06

I had my results today. Baby is a girl. It's funny, because either option had pros and cons, so I'm not sure if I could say I feel relieved, but it's settling to know.

If baby had been a boy, then there'd have been the increased risk of miscarriage to be concerned about which is obviously not what I wanted. However, a boy would have guaranteed that the condition dies with me.

I'm pleased a girl means that I know she can survive, regardless of if she has it or not, but I do have some guilt that if she does have it, she'll face the same problems as me when she's older and wanting children herself. But nevertheless, I'm just so thankful that I know she can survive it ❤️

Laurzz · 01/07/2022 17:22

@TokenGinger thank you, we've told both our parents now but still not sunk in.

Congratulations on your baby girl. Amazing news 💕. Hopefully your mind will be slightly more ar ease.

Hi all,
Jumping on this thread, due beginning of January. Here's my scan at 13 weeks. Not going to find out the gender no matter how tempting!
I hope you're all well😁

Congrats! I'm 12+6!

I've decided to keep my gender a surprise too - but it is very hard to not give in to temptation

Congratulations! Is this your first?
So far I'm enjoying the suspense of not knowing and people making guesses haha

Eeejjj · 02/07/2022 13:35

@CJones11 yeah it's my first, is it yours?
I've got everyone to do guesses and it's literally 50/50, but I feel like I'm having a girl, what do you think you're having?

My second! This time has been different to my first but I think all pregnancies are different. I had a boy first time:)
My partner is convinced this is a little boy too😇 but I have no instinct this time, with my son I just knew. This time around, I am clueless

Eeejjj · 03/07/2022 21:02

@CJones11 aww so sweet! Ur little boy is gonna be a big brother! I feel you on the instinct, I just know I'm having a girl, I can't wait until January, but so much to buy and I'm so lost! Lol

TokenGinger · 03/07/2022 22:45

I agree with you both on the instinct. In my first pregnancy, I just felt like I was having a boy, and I was right. This time, my symptoms have been different. I've still had very few, like I did with DS, but different. With DS, I had terrible acne along my jawline and chin and I put this down to the male hormones in the system. This time, I've had no acne but I've been sick the last few weeks, and I wasn't sick a single time with DS, so I just really felt that it was a girl. So much so, that my best friend had already bought a pink outfit before we got the genetic tests back to say she is a girl 😂

LA9610 · 04/07/2022 03:55

Hi everyone! Hope you don't mind me joining, I'm 13+6, due 3rd Jan with first baby. Was TTC for 17 months with no losses so first ever pregnancy. Had my first nhs scan on the 1st Jan, measuring 2 days behind. Anyone got a bump or gained any weight yet?

Baby January 2023!
Laurzz · 04/07/2022 07:21

Hey, some amazing scan photos. Congratulations everyone!

We also wont be finding out the sex although i have a slight suspicion it's a boy. All i long for is a healthy baby!

@LA9610 My weight has remained the same really, although i've had some sickness and lack of apatite. I wouldn't say i have a bump but i have bloat. At my scan they told me the baby was right underneath my belly button but that could have been due to my bladder being so full!

TokenGinger · 04/07/2022 12:34

Hey ladies, how are you all today?

My weight has stayed the same so far. I'm 12 weeks today. I'm overweight (probably 2st above my ideal that I didn't lose after DS) so it'll do me good to stay steady for a while. I was doing Slimming World before I got pregnant and the midwife told me to continue with it, but at the moment, I'm still mostly eating just toast and wraps and anything bland. Once my sickness subsides, I think I'll try to stick to it to try and minimise my weight gain as I struggle when carrying too much weight (I have lower back and hip problems), so whilst I'm definitely not somebody to encourage watching your weight in pregnancy, I feel I need to this time around just for my own comfort.

I'm officially 12 weeks today! I've got my scan on Thursday, I'm hoping she's still there kicking away and all is okay.

Has anybody started to think about names?

Laurzz · 04/07/2022 13:18

@TokenGinger good luck for Thursday, you'll be just fine 😀. Please keep us all updated!

We haven't spoken about names yet but I have a few I like. The names I like are pretty 'common' but that doesn't matter too much to me. I've got a friend who is trying to find a baby name that is out there and some she has come up with are ridiculous 😂. I also would like to give me child a middle name. Are middle names too old fashioned now?

TokenGinger · 04/07/2022 13:27

I think I much more a "common" name to some of the "unique" names you see nowadays!

I don't think middle names are old fashioned. We'd have a middle name, too.

My partner's background is Nigerian, so we'll be using a Yoruba name. My son has a Yoruba name too, but a Christian middle name, so I think we'll follow the same pattern with this one.

LA9610 · 04/07/2022 15:48

@Laurzz @TokenGinger - that's good to know re. weight. I haven't gained anything either, actually a few pounds less than I was when I found out which I guess is down to a reduced appetite as i've luckily only been sick one morning.

I haven't really thought about names yet, I was waiting until we found out the sex but now I think we may not find out and have a surprise instead! Honestly no idea where to start! Middle names is something me and my DH have disagreed on - if we had middle names, he wants them to be family names rather than just random but we are both the last of our siblings to have kids so all of the family names have already been used, he doesn't think that's an issue but I just refuse to have my kids have the same middle names as cousins? So I think we may just end up without lol.

I'm also overweight this time around. I feel disappointed in myself for being pregnant and bigger. I followed slimming world first time around and only gained 6kg through the whole pregnancy but like you this time around all I can stomach is bland carbs.

No names, still haven't told anyone so trying yo ignore the fact that it's happening until its out in the open. Do you have any names?

TokenGinger · 04/07/2022 22:10

I feel the same as you, @CJones11 - just a bit disappointed in myself that I didn't make a better effort to get the weight off beforehand. I was still slightly overweight when I conceived DS1, but I was very happy with my figure. Now I'm already unhappy at 2st over my ideal, plus whatever pregnancy weight I'll gain.

A gain of only 6kg in pregnancy is impressive - I really hope I can start stomaching decent food again soon so I can work on damage limitation.

I haven't got any names just yet. My best friend is called Leah, and I think I'll use that as the middle name as I've always loved it, but other than that, I haven't found anything I really love just yet xx

CJones11 · 04/07/2022 22:28

Because I was following slimming world I continued to lose the first trimester then maintained the second. I'd love to do the same this time but that's unlikely with my appetite..
I'm awful with names anyway, my partner named our son because I was too indecisive!
