TTC24 · 19/05/2022 09:32

Anyone else due January 2023?! Found out yesterday I'm pregnant with baby #2. If my dates are right, I'm 3+6, due 27th January! My daughters a Jan baby, but was due feb (she was 3 weeks early). May just must be a very fertile month for us! We fell pregnant last May too, but never met them😢.

So 40 weeks today. Had my last scan today which is baby's due date 18/01. No longer breech yay. Than gone upstairs to delivery suite and had a pessary for my induction. On monitors as had slightly high BP. Now waiting. Baby seems to have dropped down a bit so that's good. Will keep updating as I can. !

Jusmakingit · 18/01/2023 13:57

@H44123 You will go into labour friday night haha baby is waiting for you to finish work. Iv read that on here, so it does happen. Im soo tired and just generaly fed up a bit now.

@VgerEdney Aww good luck for the induction to work! Sounds like baby is pretty comfy in there! Its my birthday today haha maybe 18th is a good day for a baby lol Keep us updated and get some rest when you can.

H44123 · 18/01/2023 14:13

@Jusmakingit Happy Birthday! Are you doing anything nice for your birthday? I’m happy if he does come but then at the same time I have a list of cleaning jobs I want to do next week when im off!

@VgerEdney good luck and hope all goes well! Can’t wait to see your arrival announcement!

Jusmakingit · 18/01/2023 15:12

@H44123 thank you 🥰 just going out for a meal with the other half, we have a few nice pubs around our area so it’s just down the road and my mums coming to babysit our DD . I genuinely wouldn’t be surprised if I go into labour while I’m out lol
just be typical, fully prepared haha.

Haha nesting ! Iv been cleaning on and off for a few weeks. Mainly our windows cause of the condensation on the bottom . There’s just one window I cannot reach which really annoys me every time I see it lol 😂 little and often with cleaning. I actually have a Henry hoover but cause I can’t carry it up and down the stairs and fed up and it falling over dramatically at every corner I went and got a Dyson so I can whip that round when there is some dirt on the carpets which has made me feel a lot better about keeping on top of it all lol I’m so sad lol 😂

H44123 · 18/01/2023 16:26

@Jusmakingit that sounds a lovely evening. Hope you have a nice time! Perfect to get some time before baby comes. Fingers crossed baby stays out tonight to let you have the evening out!!

I have my sweep on Monday bur Everyone is telling me unlikely to work first time so I can sleep get my cleaning done that week 🤣

How strange… my partner got me a new cordless vac yesterday so today I have had a go and got so excited flying round the house. I had an old heavy hoover I couldn’t get up and down the stairs too and kept complaining. We can be sad together about a hoover 🤣 it’s the little things to keep us going!

Kerryw93 · 18/01/2023 17:22

Hey ladies I've tried replying all day but it doesn't seem to work on my phone!

How are you all? Can't belive last night wasn't our nights ! Hahaa. I had midwife today for my pre op. 6 more days!

How are you both feeling? Any signs yet?! My washer broke yesterday!!!! Absolutely heart broken. Not what I need 6 days before a newborn !!! Must laugh, not cry haha! Xxx

H44123 · 18/01/2023 18:19

@Kerryw93 oh no that is definitely not what you need. Weirdly in my family something breaking like that, a washer, fridge etc always happens before a big event So maybe baby will come sooner for you!

How exciting that you kinda have a time frame though! No signs at all for me but I feel ok actually as I’m not as uncomfortable as I was a few days ago. Plus I don’t think I can carry on symptom spotting for another week til due date or potentially 2 weeks after it would drive me mad!

how are you feeling after the pre op?

VgerEdney · 19/01/2023 00:41

Just a quick one,
So scan showed baby in the right position for once! So went up to induction and had a pessary around 12 lunchtime. So far nothing really happening. No waters broke or mucus plug. No contractions to speak off. I'm being monitored every four hours. My BP a bit high. Partner is with me but not my mum til I'm in active labour. So didn't come on the due date 18/01, Today is my brother's birthday 19/01 so he may come today ... .. they said they will try the gel next and wait 6 hours than try one more gel wait 6 hours than move onto injection or drip hormone.
Update when something happens, love to you all x

PopsicleHustler · 19/01/2023 05:46

Wish you all the best @VgerEdney the hormone drip is hard though, so brace yourself!

Kerryw93 · 19/01/2023 09:12

Good luck @VgerEdney !!! Keep us updated. Enjoy the process and savour it! It all goes so quickly!

@H44123 how are you feeling today? Any updates?

I feel nervous but pleased I have a plan in place, I feel less stressed lol

Jusmakingit · 19/01/2023 09:16

@VgerEdney good luck and I hope your doing ok! Fingers crossed not much longer !

no update from me except I feel horrendous. I cried over my cereal this morning cause I’m so uncomfortable and tired. Worst night sleep every and had the weirdest dreams 😴

H44123 · 19/01/2023 09:25

@VgerEdney eekkk exciting! Hopefully not long to go! Wishing you all the luck!

@Jusmakingit did you have a nice birthday meal? Having a bad night makes everything worse but cry if you want/need to, you often feel better getting it out. Can you have some naps today? I struggle at night too but naps help during the day.

@Kerryw93 nerves are completely normal but you will do amazing. I would love a plan in place as I hate the unknown but it is what it is. I haven’t even discussed a birth plan with my midwife, I’m guessing maybe we do that Monday when I have my sweep but all it will say is pain relief pain relief pain relief (epidural) 🤣

Im feeling fine, kind of at peace for now in that it will happen when it happens. Quite bad snow where I am today though so really hoping nothing today as it would be a struggle to get to the hospital and actually off my street with it being a big hill!

Aleks86 · 19/01/2023 12:31

Hi ladies! I feel weird writing this but I've been following this thread for over a month since I came back from abroad to live in the UK again. Im 38+5 weeks and am waiting and stressing haha especially that we're due to move any day now but we're waiting for referencing process to be over so we can sign the contract and move in. The house is empty so not even a bed which will be fun with a newborn 😣 And its 2.5h drive away from where were staying now.

Just wanted to say hello instead of lurking like a weirdo.

Congratulations to all who have had their babies and sending good vibes to those who are still waiting like me.

Pickle0901 · 19/01/2023 13:48

Hi all, hope everyone's doing well - those waiting and those with their babies....

I am booked in for an induction at 7am, which I'm really nervous about but I actually think my waters have broken or are in the process of.... nothing gushing out but a definite leaking...

I've just had a shower, washed my hair & put another pad on... not sure whether I should go in early or stick to tomorrow if I'm not having any pain. I have bad backache which I know can be the start but I've had that on and off for weeks.

I'm just reorganising my bags and haven't even told my partner yet, as I don't want him racing home from work when I don't think I'm having contractions. I thought last night I was having braxton hicks but maybe it was the start.

I have no idea, feel totally out of my depth but also a little more in control than I was expecting as I have been filled with nerves....

Do you think i should just stay home until I notice more signs?

Jusmakingit · 19/01/2023 15:19

@Pickle0901 i would just ring up and ask what they want you to do cause you could go into natural labour overnight. Good luck and let us know how you get on !

@Aleks86 hello long time lerker lol ! Welcome and keep us updated it’s great hearing everyone’s stories and plans. Hopefully you get chance to get settled before anything happens baby wise :)

@H44123 im really unsure what’s happening with me. I’m so drained , emotional and hate my partner right now lol 😂 I think if I have another bad night of cramping and pain etc then il go get checked in the morning. No doubt itl just be ‘pregnancy’ but everything is getting more difficult and struggling to breath lol

H44123 · 19/01/2023 15:42

@Aleks86 welcome to the thread! I was super nervous before my first post but now I don’t stop 🤣 Im not surprised you feel stressed (pregnant and moving)! Hopefully the house move goes smoothly and quickly for you!

@Pickle0901 how exciting! I hope when it happens for me I am like you. You sound so calm and collected! Give them a call, if not for anything but advice and peace of mind, they won’t mind at all! Keep us updated and wishing you all the best!

@Jusmakingit ha I think we all go through phases of hating/blaming the partner - I certainly have! Yeah go get checked, you have nothing to loose and always better to be safe. I know I keep saying it but I do think it will be soon for you with all the signs you have been having. And once baby is here, this will all be a distant memory xx

halloumi1 · 19/01/2023 16:06

Hi everyone - so gutted I missed this as I’m now 39 weeks with our second and due on Sunday 😂

Lots of positive thoughts to those waiting for their babies and lovely to hear about those who have had their beautiful babies.

I don’t think I could ache anymore - bad back and hip pain for the last 2 days! Sweep booked for next week and they’ve automatically booked me an induction for 41 weeks although I went spontaneously at 41+1 with DS.
DH’s work have also changed his shifts (next week) from day shifts to part day - midnight finishes on a job where he’s much harder to contact so very stressful but hoping she will come soon!

SouthwestSis · 19/01/2023 16:24

For anyone who was interested, my little boy (born in December) got selected to receive the RSV jab on his appointment on Tuesday and has been fine since.
So chuffed that he is now protected from that horrible virus!

You can sign your baby up by searching for the HARMONIE trial (they jab has already been shown to be safe for babies in previous trials)

Jusmakingit · 20/01/2023 12:59

Update from me : better night sleep , no BH but this morning stepped out the house and slipped on the ice , literally did the splits , landed on my side and my side of my bump. So I’m in hospital with all my pelvic and hip muscles completely pulled and torn, can just walk (with the aid of strong pain relief which makes me feel hungover and drunk at same time) . Baby seems fine but doing a scan this afternoon and hopefully can go home to recover. The pain is on another level and my pelvis has separated a lot so I’m in for a rough few days on general whiplash and bruising :(

stay safe everyone !

Omg! This is awful, you poor thing. I hope baby is okay at the scan. I'd be so shaken up by that. I hope you're okay and manage some rest xxx

Aleks86 · 20/01/2023 15:08

@Jusmakingit I'm so sorry to hear that, its horrible!! I hope you will feel better soon. That is definitely not the kind of update I was hoping for from you 😣

Ive been at the appointment with midwife today as I'm almost 39 weeks today. Baby and I are ok.

I've had a few cramps like period but very mild and they went away. Hopefully I still have a week or 2 before the little one goes out to move to the new house.

He does prefer my right-hand side so I feel very full there and has his leg up my rib 🤣 I also have been feeling he is making his way down my pelvis and lightning strike like feeling in my cervix.

Weirdly I sleep fine.

My midwife mentioned a sweep today but i want to avoid induction (and a sweep is a kind of induction). She said with what Ive been experiencing in the last couple of days she thinks I will go into labour spontanously. lets hope so!

H44123 · 20/01/2023 17:37

@Jusmakingit oh I’m so sorry that’s happened to you! Not what you need at all. So glad you and baby are ok and in the hospital. Hope the scan went ok too and you’re getting some rest. Thinking of you and sending you love ❤️

@Aleks86 glad you and baby are ok. All sounds very positive for you so hopefully you won’t need an induction 🤞I want to avoid an induction too but im
open to trying a sweep just more to find out more information I think

@halloumi1 sorry your in pain with the aches, I have had them occasionally but not to much luckily. I have my first sweep booked for Monday but don’t think it will work but I am interested to find out about my cervix. My partner also works funny shift hours too and is often away which can mean it could potentially take hours to get home when it starts. Hopefully baby comes soon for you to enjoy.

Aleks86 · 21/01/2023 11:45

@H44123 lets hope the sweep will work for you.

Anyone else afraid of labor? 🤔

TokenGinger · 21/01/2023 13:36

@Aleks86 I was afraid of labour second time around, but not first time. I think first time, I had no idea what to expect so I wasn't bothered. Second time, I knew exactly what to expect and so I was terrified. However, my second labour was so much easier and the two differences for me was, I stood up through all of my contractions last week and it made them so much easier to tolerate than when lying down. I also felt it helped labour progress quicker because gravity was doing its job and letting baby move down. The second thing was I birthed on my hands and knees. When on my back with DS, I was pushing for an hour and it felt like I was getting nowhere. After standing with DD, I then knelt on the bed and she was out in one push. Again, the gravity helped.

I 100% agree with this! Although I've only given birth the once, I found contractions more manageable when standing up/walking through them and I pushed on my knees leaning against pillows. My labour was all of 4 hours with minimal tearing and was manageable with gas and air
