TTC24 · 19/05/2022 09:32

Anyone else due January 2023?! Found out yesterday I'm pregnant with baby #2. If my dates are right, I'm 3+6, due 27th January! My daughters a Jan baby, but was due feb (she was 3 weeks early). May just must be a very fertile month for us! We fell pregnant last May too, but never met them😢.

Oh yes, I agree with @Eeejjj on the tearing, too! With my DS, I had second degree tears and needed stitches. Despite DD being a bigger baby, I didn't have any tears or grazes and they said the position helped with that. I felt much more in control with DD.

Aleks86 · 21/01/2023 16:28

@Eeejjj @TokenGinger thank you so much, this made me feel a lot better. I am planning to be active and not lay down so hopefully it will be fine and I will live 🤣

For the last two days I've had this weird feeling of something moving against my bladder when I sit to pee, its like after a few seconds of sitting something moves and releases my bladder but its uncomfortable. Is this normal?!

They told me on my 36th week scan and at midwife appt that baby is head down and engaged.

H44123 · 21/01/2023 17:47

@Aleks86 I’m a bit scared but more of the unknown but like people have said I think because I don’t know what to expect it’s helping me not think too much about it. And I’m just thinking what will be will be. I’m more worried about after as in if I get stitches that scares me the pain or if I need a c section for whatever reason the recovery.

But reading what people have said, I didn’t have a plan other than an epidural but maybe in the beginning being active through contractions to help 🤷🏻‍♀️I guess I can’t be stood up with an epidural so god knows. I’m just going to wing it I think

halloumi1 · 21/01/2023 22:48

@H44123 Thank you - we pregnant ladies definitely live at the edge of what’s surely doable carrying these babies! Sending lots of positive thoughts for your sweep and it gives you some good news about how things are.

Due tomorrow - hoping she’s like me as a baby and comes on her due date! Been for a beach walk and suddenly been organising my utility room cupboard/cleaning the kitchen - all the fun things of course.

@Jusmakingit That sounds awful - poor you! Hope you’re getting lots of rest and on the mend and both you and baby are doing okay

Jusmakingit · 22/01/2023 08:28

Hello, no real update from me except no baby, still pushing and wriggling into my pelvis which is weird cause my muscles etc around the bottom of my belly and my hips/pelvis are fucked so it’s just bruising and discomfort all the time now. I can’t believe I’m in such a state, thankfully it is easing a bit from forcing myself to walk and move around. Googled it and apparently can take up to 12 weeks to fully recover from pulled/torn muscles around the hips and waist which makes sense. You just massively take it for granted what your muscles actually do.

have a growth scan tomorrow (which will be fun getting on and of the bed) then the consultant so see what they say but there’s no way I can give birth now without an epidural.

liking the tip about moving around whilst in labour. My last induction I was wired up and told I could move cause it can mess the heart rate up of baby but if I manage natural labour without epidural im defo going to move around. I hate been stuck in one position lol 😂

hope everyone else is ok , enjoy baby cuddles or hopefully very close to it.

Jusmakingit · 22/01/2023 08:29

Couldn’t ** move

Kerryw93 · 22/01/2023 18:11

@Jusmakingit Oh my God I hope you're OK. How terrible it happened right now as you're about to give birth. I'm so sorry for my late reply. My phone hates mumsnet lol , how are you feeling today? Are you okay?.
I have had a busy day getting house cleaned, beds changed etc . Tomorrow is my last day of peace and quiet before my C section. New washer came , thank goodness lol , all bedding changed etc. My older girls are prepped for their nans while I'm in hospital. I'm so scared about leaving them, they are very emotional girls and sensitive to I feel guilty about leaving them. I just want them to not worry! . . How is everyone else getting on? Its nearly our turns woohoo!! Lol , xxx

H44123 · 22/01/2023 20:21

@Jusmakingit glad your both ok, was wondering earlier how you were getting on. Glad it’s getting a bit better with moving too. Just do what you can and take it steady, you need to recover too!

@Kerryw93 how exiting you have 1 day left before c section and get to meet your baby! And your washer has come… at least you don’t need to worry about that too!

Im feeling fine, no change for me at all. Got my sweep tomorrow afternoon, bit nervous it might hurt but more interested/excited to find out about my cervix ha although doubt she will say much she never does and I never think to ask til after! Got a week full of cleaning jobs I plan to do now I have finished work but who knows if they will get done!

Kerryw93 · 23/01/2023 11:54

Good luck on your sweep today @H44123 . Hopefully it will get things moving for you. How are you feeling about it now?

Charlie023 · 23/01/2023 14:29

Hey how's everyone doing today?
Not really much of an update from me, it was my due date yesterday but still no sign of baby arriving and I'm not having any labour symptoms yet although I do feel like baby has dropped down further as I've now got much more pressure on my bladder so feeling pretty uncomfortable.

halloumi1 · 23/01/2023 15:00

@Charlie023 Hi - same due date here! Well NHS due date was yesterday and today is my original LMP due date.
Feel exactly the same as you with no symptoms. Hope you’re doing okay and not too frustrated! Got kept awake for an hour the other night with pains but they stopped - so frustrating! Last night she was really active and her moving was so painful, was like someone kicking me in the front of my pelvis, really low down.

Sick of people messaging asking if there’s any sign and just want to hibernate 😂. Induction automatically booked for 41 weeks so Sunday coming, which I really really want to avoid!
Hope you get some signs soon

H44123 · 23/01/2023 15:43

@Kerryw93 thank you! I was really nervous before but it was ok. Similar to a smear but just longer lasting, not painful just uncomfortable. She said cervix is still a bit posterior but could feel baby’s head. Didn’t say I was dilated or anything but said she gave it a good good it just was a bit closed. Got another one booked for next Monday. Embarrassing though she said I had thrush internally, I had no clue as haven’t had itching like before when I have had it and I just thought the extra discharge was because I’m nearly 40 weeks.

So I went to the pharmacy to get caneston to be told they can’t give it to me as pregnant and I need to get a prescription from the doctors. Called the doctors and queued for 30 mins, so now just waiting to get the OK to go get some. What a performance! Midwife said I didn’t need to speak to the doctors.

Hope everyone is doing OK!

Jusmakingit · 23/01/2023 17:04

Hope everyone is ok ! Im still having BH , watery discharge, back pain , baby is low and had another growth scan today shes nearly 8lbs ! bigger than my last baby but im a week further along now than with my 1st DD. Mentally iv not been doing as well since falling on friday, still in a lot of pain on my bump, back, pelvis etc. Its getting easier but i cant tell my BH 's as much now cause the fall pain is worst. Consultant given go ahead for a stretch and sweep this wednesday with my midwife so i hope with all the signs and symptoms it might work, shes right into my pelvis so much that they couldnt measure her head properly. If S&S doesnt work then next week i can have an induction. Really hope the stretch and sweep works but its becoming a lot more real now lol im just mentally and phsyically done now being preg, im an independent person and having to rely on others these past few days is taking its toll. Lots of tears lol emotional prego !

@H44123 Keep me updated with your sweep and if anything happens ! Im excited nervous for you lol x

H44123 · 23/01/2023 17:20

@Jusmakingit oh I really feel for you, hopefully it gets better each day for you. Remember we are so close to the end now. And if it doesn’t happen before I bet the sweep works for you especially with all your signs.

I don’t think anything will come if my sweep as she said it wasn’t 100% effective. Baby has been really active since and I was getting shooting pains when he moved low down but again think it’s him hitting/touching something. But now Iv had the sweep I will be on edge thinking everything could be the start 🤣 I also don’t want it tonight so I can do the pessary and I keep thinking the mess after the pessary and imagine I have
midwifes/doctors seeing the mess from a pessary I would be mortified hahah!

Charlie023 · 23/01/2023 19:02

@halloumi1 I'm feeling ok thank you, not too frustrated yet as I'm still relatively comfortable and just trying to enjoy the peace and quiet at home whilst I still can lol but I'm hoping baby comes by himself within the next week.
Got a sweep booked for next Monday if not, and if that doesn't work then an induction for the following Thursday but hoping it doesn't come to that as I would rather not have to be induced but by then no doubt I will have had enough and just want him out lol
Hope your labour starts soon too. Keep us updated if you can xx

TokenGinger · 23/01/2023 20:42

I'm still keeping an eye out for all of your arrivals. I hope you're all doing okay ladies.

DD is 12 days old today and it feels like it's been so much longer than that. Last time I wrote on here, I mentioned about trying to establish breastfeeding. Well, what a stumbling block we hit. Wednesday last week, I had been feeling unwell for two days, feeling feverish and just generally unwell. The pain when breastfeeding was unbearable. I have a really high pain threshold but was screaming out in pain when she first latched and it was painful throughout. I had a visit from the breastfeeding team and they said I had mastitis and referred me to the GP. The GP took my stats and sent me straight back to hospital. Luckily as it was a post-birth complication, the maternity hospital had me back meaning I could keep baby with me. I had severe mastitis and the infection had spread and I'd become really unwell. I had high blood pressure, high heart rage and high temperature. I ended up admitted to hospital on IV meds for 3 nights, all whilst trying to look after baby. I persisted with feeding until the final night in hospital when baby spent from midnight to 6am on the breast and I was in agony. It was like she'd sucked me dry but still was so hungry. I got the formula bottles out and she took a full bottle and slept for 3 hours straight.

I just wanted to say thank you to you all as you'd commented on my last post last time to say not to put too much pressure on myself and that fed is best etc. I had those comments in my head that morning as I sat sobbing in the hospital with her latched to me looking down thinking it was the final feed we'd share together. It absolutely broke my heart, not because I feel any shame about formula feeding (DS was formula fed and he's a smasher) but because I felt like I was severing the bonding we'd had together. But she's doing great on the formula and still a happy little baby.

I’m so happy to hear you’re doing ok and what a journey you have been on with breastfeeding. I think I speak for every woman that you certainly can not ever doubt you didn’t try, it’s a very strange feeling to have to make that decision but your health is just important as the baby and I found when I switched to a formula (after an entire day of screaming hungry baby whilst I was on a pumping machine) she slept so well.

keep going mama you got this !!

H44123 · 23/01/2023 22:23

@TokenGinger so happy to hear both you and baby are doing ok, I was wondering how you were getting on. Thank you for sharing, I haven’t had baby yet but you have made me realise how much pressure we unknowingly can put on ourselves often not thinking of our own health too. Stay strong, you’re doing amazing after what you have been through!!

Jusmakingit · 24/01/2023 21:24

@H44123 any update since your sweep ? I’m hoping no update is good news and the sweep worked and you’re cuddling your baby ! Sending good vibes and fingers crossed

iv got mine tomorrow and I’m really nervous about real contractions and going into labour in the night. Got my waterproof mattress protector on already . Everything is getting very real. I feel like it’s my first time all over again .

H44123 · 24/01/2023 21:39

@Jusmakingit oh I had a giggle when you thought no update meant baby here. Literally no update. No pains or change at all. It was to be expected really I guess from the first sweep. Still a waiting game.. next sweep booked for Monday and then if no luck induction will be booked. I do wonder if my waters will break getting out of bed the effort it takes to manoeuvre myself.

You will be fine tomorrow… if anything at least you get a good idea this your cervix is! How are your pains from the fall? Hopefully still getting better? Good luck for tomorrow!! Keep us updated xx

Jusmakingit · 25/01/2023 01:31

@H44123 aww no :( I’m getting a bit anxious waiting now and randomly my heartburn and nausea is back. I’m getting really fed up and my partner keeps telling his friends every little detail so they keep messaging to ask how I am and how it’s exciting etc and my family keep asking about names and when baby will be here etc which is nice but it’s really winding me up now feel like everyone’s just talking about me and getting inpatient. Wish no one knew cause the pressure is building but I’m the one who will be doing it all. They just have to sit and wait to get the message Iv had the baby. Lol I sound terrible like lol 😂 xx

VgerEdney · 25/01/2023 07:02

So ladies... My little boy arrived in Sat 21/01/2023, by c section, 11.59 , weighing 7lbs14 and Is wonderful!
I tried induction, ended up with the pessary and two gos of the gel. I could have tried one more gel after a 24 hour rest but I decided enough was enough and said I wanted a c section. So after going in to hospital on weds 18/01/2023, had c section Sat and managed to get home by late Sunday.
I never could get my waters to break or get past 1cm so c section was the best choice for.me boy than.
It was fine. I felt sick when in theatre waiting to have the spinal block and had to tell my partner to get a sick bowl as felt very hot and sick. Did that twice than laid down and it was okay . I didn't bleed a lot and went smoothly. I was able to see baby after he came.out and than when he was checked, went into room next door but doors left home and partner went with and cut the cord. We managed to do the delayed cord clamp but wasn't able to do skin to skin for a while. Got taken back to the ward and with ten mins to go of the 'golden hour" got skin on skin! Than daddy had his turn. Baby boy has a lot of hair!! Explains the heartburn and is prefect.
As.c section taking it easy and my.mum is staying with us to go out extra. Partner could only use holiday as not been with company long enough but he's back next Monday. But can work from home a lot so.
My tummy is healing okay. Hurts but okay. Midwife had first visit and that went well. Went out for first pram walk with mum, partner and baby.amd dog! Today.
We.havent decided finish the name bit think he will be Greyson Edney ...... and using my partners surname as we will get married and I'll take.his surname.
Managing to breastfeed so far. It's not been painful altho today my boobs are so heavy and huge and full. Been leaking !! Have decided to do a bit of combo feeding and expressing and move over to formula as it is hard on me having to be available and heal and rest enough. I'm happy I was able to do the first four days plus of his life and got some.gpldness into him but this will make life easier and also I like to know how much food he is getting !

Baby January 2023!
Jusmakingit · 25/01/2023 08:59

@VgerEdney i love this birth story and it’s very inspiring. Well done for taking control and opting for a c section , clearly he was very comfy in there. Glad you’re home and recovering well.

breast feeding can be exhausting both physically and mentally so just go with what you feel is best, your instincts are always going to be on point with your child so don’t feel pressure or expectations to force yourself. Go with the flow (no pun intended lol) I did the first few days then my milk stopped for a week then a tidle wave but by then we had a good formula routine and it worked for everyone. Breast pads are you friend !

also loving the name idea, very strong and unique name !

well done mama x

Aleks86 · 25/01/2023 12:29

@VgerEdney congratulations, well done!

@H44123 @Jusmakingit still waiting game for us then!

I had a real bad night sleep today with pain in my hip from laying on my side.

In the morning I started having sharp pain in my cervix and dull in my back 😮

Pain in my back dissappeared after I went to the toilet.

The sharp pain in front, in my cervix, comes in waves when baby moves but hot watter bottle helps. I guess its not labor yet?

We will get keys to our house on Friday so I really hope he is going to hold off until then. The pain is intense though and Im getting a but stressed its the latent phase.

H44123 · 25/01/2023 13:14

@VgerEdney massive congratulations! Glad your both doing ok!

@Aleks86 i had a bad night too, felt like I was half asleep/awake all night and just couldn’t get warm or comfy. TMI (sorry) before I went to bed I went to the toilet which is unusual for me. I woke up today just feeling out of sorts. Again went to the toilet. Had an appointment at 10 and got there and thought I’m not going to be able to sit here, I need the toilet and kept going hot and cold. Luckily it passed but driving home kept feeling hot and cold and just made it home to the toilet again and twice since. Can’t seem to get warm (laid in bed with heating on) and my stomach just feels heavy at the front and low down. Very strange feeling!

exciting you get the keys Friday, fingers crossed baby waits til after then for you!

@Jusmakingit no you don’t sound terrible… we have enough to deal with and then anything else is just too much! Just try ignore it, we would all like to know when baby is coming, especially the mums 🤣 luckily I haven’t had people messaging yet asking but I’m sure when they do it will get on my wick! Good luck for the sweep!
