@PeeAche2

Definitely. Always trust your instincts. Rather be sent away fine then to not go.

How is baby peeache?

Brightsmoke · 02/05/2022 12:06

@JAR1981, avoid doctor google! Hope you're feeling a bit better about it today

Is anyone else just feeling a bit bored of waiting? I want my little man here now and I'm so fed up of waiting 🙈

AlbatrossSociety · 02/05/2022 12:44

Someone mentioned piles/haemorrhoids earlier and just wanted to say that when I got one I went to the pharmacy and they wouldn't sell me the cream and told me to go the GP. I didn't want to go the GP so I called the midwife advice line and she advised me to use a cream - germaloids I think it's called - and to just send someone else to go into the shop for me if I thought they wouldn't sell it to me. She said usually on the package it says 'consult your GP or midwife before using this product in pregnancy' and by calling the advice line that is what you are doing!!

Please don't just soldier on, I used cream and it honestly gave me so much relief and actually shrank down back to normal within about a week and is now completely gone. Call your midwife and get some advice because as far as my midwife was concerned you don't have to just put up with it because you're pregnant!! Also it is SO COMMON in pregnancy and whoever you speak to will not think twice about it. I'm not sure why I felt more comfortable talking to a midwife than my GP but she honestly just said something like 'oh no! Poor you! Welcome to the wonderful world of pregnancy side effects no one warned you of!' And then gave me advice on what products to use. It was so not a big deal.

EarlGreywithLemon · 02/05/2022 13:27

Second that- I went to the GP with haemorrhoids last time I was pregnant. She prescribed cream (I think it was Anusol but not sure) and Movicol and advised me to take them both, or it could get a lot worse. Don’t suffer in silence!

Vimto1991 · 02/05/2022 14:03

@PeeAche2 that’s why I went on Friday after remembering your story. 4pm had erratic movements then nothing, it made me panic cause it felt like they panicked. Went to triage, ctg was fine, started picking up movements and heart rate was good. They saw contractions (it was just braxton hicks cause I needed to pee) haha, so sent home after cervix check. Saturday was fine, Sunday until 8 was fine. They just haven’t really stopped moving.
just went to the fetal assessment unit for monitoring just, baby was kicking to begin with and then fell asleep and as soon as the monitor was off kicked again. They think it may be their position has changed (my belly button has gone from outie to innie so might be it). Passed the test still feel confused and anxious. 🤷‍♀️ But heart rate was fine and passed the ctg test so I guess baby is just for lack of a nicer term… fucking with me. 😅
honestly don’t know what to do going forward. The midwife said she’d rather me there every day and see the baby was fine, I feel like I might as well live there. 😬

Letsbekindplease · 02/05/2022 14:08

@PeeAche2 and so glad you did call and go to hospital. Hope you’re both doing amazingly. I certainly will remember your story

@AlbatrossSociety @EarlGreywithLemon I actually had to go for a scan today and asked my midwife if I could use Anusol and she said I could. Offered to take a look at my “assteroid “ as I call it. Of course I declined and happily came home to use said cream. Hoping it gives me some relief soon.
scan also looking grand and baby is head down. 35 weeks this week.

Lostintranslatio · 02/05/2022 14:27

Ladies, re car seats: I have narrowed down to two options but just realised they don't have the handle bar to carry the seat out of car, I assume they are supposed to stay in the car all the time. So have am I supposed to take baby out of hospital to car? Will they refuse to let us out until we bring one car seat to hospital?

Vimto1991 · 02/05/2022 14:49

@Lostintranslatio depends on the trust, mine won’t without a handle bar unfortunately :(

pregnancydiaries · 02/05/2022 17:07

@Letsbekindplease good to hear scan went well. Did you hear any more about iron transfusion?

@PeeAche2 hope little princess is continuing to flourish xx

Prema112 · 02/05/2022 18:33

@Vimto1991 Good to hear baby is doing fine, it's so tricky when movements aren't consistent! They cause us so much stress don't they

Anyone getting a nursing chair? I keep going back and forth with it, we had one last time and it was so comfy but they are expensive and we don't really have space

Vimto1991 · 02/05/2022 19:01

@Prema112 yeah ctg all went well! it’s really not helping my anxiety at all. I feel so helpless and lost at the moment. :( I think baby has gone back to back as my outie is now an innie and my stomach is flatter when sitting up, which explains why I am feeling more than before. I have to go in for monitoring on Thursday, Monday, and the following Thursday, as I’ve had two instances of pattern changes. They can’t move my scan which is due in two weeks so monitoring until then. I booked a private scan for tomorrow as I think it’s worth it 🤷‍♀️ Until then, my night is filled with noting movements. I’d like to know if anyone else’s frequency is like this? As someone with anterior, it’s not been like this, especially when I think baby has faced back to stomach as they should. Would be interesting to know if my little diary sounds familiar to anyone else.

Due in June - Thread 11!
Prema112 · 02/05/2022 19:21

@Vimto1991 A private scan sounds like a great idea for you, I hope it really reassures you to see baby again. Try not to worry too much tonight as your monitoring is all fine baby is probably absolutely perfect x

Vimto1991 · 02/05/2022 19:23

@Prema112 thanks, I am hoping for further answers tomorrow or to just learn it this is the new normal! Going to try and actually get proper sleep tonight 😩 I don’t think my anxiety will help the baby at all.

Letsbekindplease · 02/05/2022 19:36

@pregnancydiaries no, 18th may they will do my bloods again and then decide. I actually feel ok but not sure if I’m just used to being so tired ?

im really struggling with the pile. I want to cry. I have googled and it’s like a thrombosis pile?? I’m worried. My surgery will be open tomorrow and I’ll call them. I can’t go on like this and certainly can’t for the next 5/6 weeks!
I don’t even have a bath so I can’t sit and relax in one to shrink it. Apologies on the TMI but I am in so much pain and mortified. I can’t remember the piles as bad after my first child was born. This seems different. Much more painful.
between this and PGP I’m really struggling. 😅

Octoblockisadick · 02/05/2022 19:41

I've been to Blackpool for the day and done quite a bit of walking, struggling now though. Think it's annoyed baby a bit because he keeps squirming and stretching which is rather uncomfortable! I must have been pulling faces at it because my husband looked at me in a bit of a panic and said we haven't got anything packed yet.
Another growth scan and consultant appointment for my giant baby tomorrow haha.
@JAR1981 I'm not planning on packing anything until 37 weeks as it stands, might change my mind but I doubt it tbh haha.
@Starbeach I've been signed off for a birth centre water vbac 🤞. My midwife said if you have growth scans they won't measure with a tape, definitely not within 2 weeks of a scan.

EarlGreywithLemon · 02/05/2022 22:12

@Prema112 tricky - all nursing chairs I saw last time were semi reclining, which is bad for my back. According to my physio (and she turned out to be right) I need a straight backed chair with a relatively narrow seat to get good support and get my feet flat on the floor. The few armchairs I found like that all had order long lead times - and somehow I managed to leave it too late this time too!!! 🤦‍♀️ Hope I manage to make do with the chair and cushion arrangement I improvised last time…

JAR1981 · 02/05/2022 22:38

@Prema112 @EarlGreywithLemon i got this chair for nursing. It’s quite firm but a decent price and I think will work, lovely colour pop too! www.argos.co.uk/product/8887562

Im feeling better knowing lots of you will also be doing hospital bag around 36-37 weeks. I have got most of it organised and laid out in the spare room, just need to pick up a few more bits and decide which baby outfits we’ll take with us. And husband to recover so I can supervise him packing it haha!

Still testing negative here however I feel like I’m getting a scratchy throat tonight, really hope it’s nothing. Husband has been feeling proper rubbish today, like a serious case of man flu 🤦🏻‍♀️.

@Vimto1991 sorry movements are causing you so much anxiety. Hopefully the scan tomorrow will reassure you. I would say my movement is fairly variable and I’m convinced it is down to which way the baby is facing. There are a few times a day when I’d worry if I got no movement though as they are always active 5am and around 9-11.30pm. That aside it seems to depend which way they face, what and when I eat, and how busy I am. So hard to say I have an exact pattern. Hope you feel more comfortable soon and all goes well tomorrow.

Rolledthedice · 03/05/2022 00:55

Thanks for the birthday messages! Glad we got a bit of lovely sunshine on Saturday 🥳

@Vimto1991 - sorry to hear that you are struggling with movement anxiety, a private scan sounds like a good idea to give you peace of mind. It’s so tricky having an anterior placenta. I also have one and I wouldn’t say I have found a pattern as such. My midwife said not to overthink it too much and follow instinct, so I don’t write anything down but I’d notice if she was quiet in the evening when I’m resting. As JAR said, it depends on what I’m doing and eating etc too. I’m sure your little one is perfectly happy in there swimming about. 😊

@Letsbekindplease that sounds dreadful, you poor thing! Have you tried a Sitz bath? I know it’s not the same as a long soak in a proper bath but might offer some relief?

DaimDillyDoo · 03/05/2022 01:58

I couldn't find the new thread for ages... Im laid in bed itching everywhere and just catching up. Is anyone else itching? I know it can be a sign of ICP but it also can be one of those annoying pregnancy symptoms. I'm genuinely tempted to wake DP up to itch my back

I'm back for my second growth scan to see if little miss is still small on Friday. @Clomid1 thinking of you and your little one.

Vimto1991 · 03/05/2022 05:55

@EarlGreywithLemon @Rolledthedice thanks guys! I am used to not really feeling them much, maybe ten minutes spurts once an hour, maybe once every two hours. I’m now feeling baby every two minutes. 🤯Ctg is fine and the midwife couldn’t give me an answer which I find the most frustrating part. As far as she knows the baby isn’t in distress I just don’t know how movement can change so much! My belly has changed to flat and in an innie rather than round and an outie, so if they’re back to back I guess that explains why I feel… everything now. I said that to the midwife and she said ‘we wouldn’t want to just put it down as their position, though’, well investigate and find out why then!! 😭

@DaimDillyDoo yes! I even got tested for ICP and got the all clear, next day I came up with a rash and no one really knows what it is, but apparently we become more sensitive to things in pregnancy. Or it was something biting me in my sleep (we’ve washed the sheets now 😅), but DH wasn’t bit if so!

EarlGreywithLemon · 03/05/2022 10:40

@JAR1981 thank you so much! That chair looks like exactly the kind of thing I need 😀

Also, a big thank you to whoever recommended the Mama Mio leg cooling gel (so sorry that I’ve forgotten who). It really helps!

GrowBabyGrow · 03/05/2022 10:45

@DaimDillyDoo good to get your bloods tested for ICP just in case but it could just be sensitivity! I also am itchy all night and have been tested twice now and each time the bloods come back all clear. I think for me it's because I'm getting quite hot at night which is making my skin itch.

Letsbekindplease · 03/05/2022 11:18

@Rolledthedice I’ll have a look
online. I don’t have a bath in our house (yet) so this will be ideal.

I keep singing Fergie - Glamorous song at how glamorous I feel haha.

Prema112 · 03/05/2022 11:29

@JAR1981 Ooo thank you that does look nice!

Prema112 · 03/05/2022 11:31

@Letsbekindplease So sorry you're really struggling! I also have piles, they haven't been too bad so I've just been ignoring them but I think they are getting worse (I refuse to look!!) So I've bought some germoloids- thank you to whoever recommended that!
