Great news @Vimto1991, keep LO cooking another few weeks!xxx

fpeg · 30/04/2022 08:00

@Vimto1991 great news! Glad you made it home (and at a semi sensible time by the looks of things!). These babies just need to settle down and behave themselves! 😂🤣

JAR1981 · 30/04/2022 08:17

Happy birthday @Rolledthedice 🎉

So glad all ok and you made it home @Vimto1991

Vimto1991 · 30/04/2022 08:22

Thanks everyone :) @fpeg they really do! Putting us through our paces. As a FTM I’m finding it a minefield to know what’s normal and the babies movements are getting so much bigger yet they have less room, the fact I went in one week for reduced and the next week for excessive Must make me seem so anxious… of which I am. 😂😅

Flowerbug1994 · 30/04/2022 08:39

Morning everyone but of advice needed.

I went to maternity assessment yesterday with reduced movement. They put me on machine for an hour and heart rate was fine got movement for the first half of it and tailed off the second half. They booked me a scan for tomorrow as am due growth scan and my trust has had staff off so 2 weeks behind and won’t get scan for another 2 weeks so they booked it in the unit for me. They was happy with this overall. I come home had something to eat and got a bit of movement in bed and stuff last night. I feel like this morning am not getting much movement again. What would you do would you go back or wait for scan. (Just had a kick whilst I wrote this 😂)

Octoblockisadick · 30/04/2022 08:52

Happy birthday @Rolledthedice !!
And @Vimto1991 lol about the full bladder! I'll remember that one for future haha.
@Flowerbug1994 if you are concerned I would go back today, depends how little movement there is I suppose.

Re the perineal massage, i saw a video on Instagram that seemed quite good, I'll try and find it again.

Octoblockisadick · 30/04/2022 08:55

Found it!

@Flowerbug1994 I didn’t get much movement on my scan (two kicks at the beginning and some ten seconds before it turned off) they think the baby was sleeping, but as long as the baby passed the test (begins with a d) that normally indicates they are fine. And if they are kicking now that’s a good sign also? Obviously call in again if you are still having doubts, atleast they can test again and allievate some concerns, I do wish there was further explanation given to us at the time to help. When I left last night I was still anxious thinking how they hadn’t moved much on the test, but I was up at 3am to pee (which woke the cats up) and baby was having a party. 😳 so I take it they were just quiet during the ctg, but still passed the test, as I considered going in today even on the drive home.

re: perieneal massage - are peeps doing this themselves or asking OHs? I’ve told mine no funny business allowed. 😂

Flowerbug1994 · 30/04/2022 09:08

@Octoblockisadick @Vimto1991 typical since I posted he has had a good 12 movements he must of been having a sleep in 😂😂 going to see how I go for abit now. Not taking any chances if he goes quite for a couple of hours am going in. I feel like this last trimester is as anxiety inducing as the first now 😭😭

Vimto1991 · 30/04/2022 09:14

@Flowerbug1994 100% I thought once I got to 12 weeks I’d be sailing through but I’m anxious all the time monitoring movement and I’m not sure it’s super helpful to ask moms to do that. I can see why they stopped people counting kicks and recording tbf

fpeg · 30/04/2022 09:37

@Vimto1991 @Flowerbug1994 midwife made a comment to me yesterday about how they expect to see pretty much every mum to be at least once and often more ever since they put the onus on the mums to be monitoring movements. She did say she couldn't think of a better way but it's actually comforting to know that they're expecting you to be in touch. (Well it is for me anyway 🙃)

Flowerbug1994 · 30/04/2022 09:38

@Vimto1991 100% movement anxiety is next level isn’t it. I think It’s worse than first trimester anxiety because to a certain extend you know first trimester there’s nothing you can do your just a sitting duck. In 3rd trimester you feel like everything is on you to be on the ball and noticing everything. Roll on the next 5 to 6 weeks when I get to meet him and start worrying about him in person 😂😂

Flowerbug1994 · 30/04/2022 09:41

@fpeg love it when you see someone who is super reassuring like that I went in at 32 aswell with reduced movement and the midwife said to me if you come every day it’s not like we’re going to shout at you we would rather you come.

Katiebaby13 · 30/04/2022 11:59

@RoseValleyRambles dungarees sound like such a good idea!! Hopefully the weather will be getting warmer so we can start wearing dresses without it getting too hot for us all.

@Octoblockisadick thanks for sharing the link to the perineal videos.

I'm going to try do it on my own and then maybe ask DP if I need too but I don't know if he will find it a bit too much. He's the type that seems to think when I ask for a massage it's code for something else 🤣

Lostintranslatio · 30/04/2022 13:20

I'm also finding very stressful the movement monitoring, because is not good enough to feel the baby on a daily basis, you need to keep track of their pattern of movements, the intensity of the movements... And I don't know yours, but my baby have quiet days and other days when she does not stop moving and rolling around my belly 😑

NorthDevonBeachLover · 30/04/2022 13:31

@Brightsmoke I took your advice and have just picked up a couple of Primark bras, they look super comfy. I'll wait a couple more weeks until I get some more as I suspect I'll grow more in-between.

Happy bank holiday weekend all X

Clomid1 · 30/04/2022 13:52

@PeeAche2 Congratulations on your little girl sorry I haven’t kept up with the threads so had no idea.

I had a growth scan at 32 weeks which found baby on the 3rd centile. In and out of hospital for extra monitoring at the moment, will find out on Friday at 34 weeks if she has grown. If not then they’ll deliver early. Very stressful and not great for my mental health at all.

PleaseSendNoodles · 30/04/2022 14:38

Oh @Clomid1 that all sounds very stressful. Hoping she’ll have had a little growth spurt by Friday! 💕

and I agree with everyone about anxiety over movements! It never goes away!

unknownscot · 30/04/2022 14:39

@Clomid1
Glad you are being monitored and scanned closely. Hoping it all goes as smoothly as possible 🥰

We picked up our pram and car seat today - and I built them. I'm getting a bit impatient now 😂😂

Clomid1 · 30/04/2022 16:48

@PleaseSendNoodles @unknownscot thanks ladies. Will come back to let you guys know how it goes.

@unknownscot which pram and car seat did you go for?

I picked the Joie i360 spin. Haven’t bought it yet given current situation but hopefully can buy it soon.

AlbatrossSociety · 30/04/2022 18:35

@Vimto1991 I am definitely planning on doing perineal massage myself, not asking my husband! I imagine it might be a bit uncomfortable and feel much morw comfortable doing that to myself. Plus he hasn't been near that area in a while and I'm not sure I want the first time in a couple months to be for perineal massage... I'm 33 weeks though so still have a week to wait before I start. I actually have one of those plasticy things to help me reach.

@Clomid1 that sounds really stressful, will be thinking of you and your little one! Was baby bigger at 20 weeks or small then too? I hope she gets a bit more cooking time but hopefully she will be strong and thrive if she is born early. It must be a lot to get your head around.

@RoseValleyRambles I live in dungarees. I'm slightly embarrassed about how many dungarees I have. I had about 4 pairs pre pregnancy because they're great for work but that number may have doubled. 🙃

We got the Oyster 3 pram with the Maxi Cosi Pebble 360.

We found a bundle online and got our local pram shop to match it which was great.

Vimto1991 · 30/04/2022 18:50

@AlbatrossSociety yeah same here for my DH, so would rather do it myself, but I don’t even know if I would reach down there, getting a urine sample is hard enough. 🙈

Hope everyone’s enjoying their long weekend! Although looks like it’s about to rain. 😅
baby is moving so quickly at the moment, as a FTM it’s so scary. Last week it was too little, now it’s too much, I’ve spent the evening on the verge of tears feeling like I’ve never understood this pregnancy, and almost creating anxiety when the baby is probably perfectly fine. Anyone else with an anterior placenta around 34 weeks finding movements to either be: rolls, light jabs, or suddenly lots of erratic strong kicks to the side?😳 I never knew they could kick or punch me so fast, but I guess this is the new norm for my pregnancy. Atleast if I have a second I can sort of remember what to look out for!!

AlbatrossSociety · 30/04/2022 18:54

@Vimto1991 this is what I have to help with that aspect www.perimom.com/

Believe it or not my husband bought it for me for VALENTINES DAY, I kid you not. He said he saw it advertised and thought of me?? Which is nice I suppose?

Brightsmoke · 01/05/2022 06:21

Funny you said that @PleaseSendNoodles, it was DHs birthday Friday, so I was able to have some cake 😋

@Vimto1991 glad it was just BH! I don't remember my sweeps being too uncomfortable, hope they aren't for you either. I struggle a bit reaching around my belly to do the perineal massage so asked DH to do it for me. He was shit so I'll just stick to struggling 😂

Hope you had a good birthday @Rolledthedice :)

That did make me chuckle @AlbatrossSociety 😂
