@Prema112 my baby is in a similar position to yours! She also rolls with me at night when I roll over.

@Letsbekindplease yes I love my ball. :) It’s the best thing I’ve bought all pregnancy! I got it for prenatal Pilates so have been using it daily since about 20 weeks. It’s also nice just to rest on it using child’s pose.

Also joining the swollen vag club, although I’ve had this since about 29 weeks as there is apparently an invisible varicose vein (lovely). I find putting a small ice pack down there gives relief, and I wear my belly belt/support when walking.

EarlGreywithLemon · 16/05/2022 21:05

36+1 today (or 35+6 by my dates) and suddenly I’ve hit a real wall today: exhausted, nauseous, awful heartburn, back and pelvis hurt, legs feel heavy. I also have zero appetite. Definitely didn’t feel like this with our daughter! I may well have overdone it - went for a long walk with the toddler yesterday and another one today. In hindsight I should have rested today. I hope at least she sleeps well tonight for it!

MrsNT · 16/05/2022 21:36

What does it feel like when baby is head down? Do you feel any pubic bone pain sometimes? Or could it be with any position?

MrsNT · 16/05/2022 22:30

Also does anyone get a round bump sticking out near belly button. Mine is sometimes left sometimes righr side. Wondering if thats the butt or knee?

beansprout55 · 16/05/2022 22:53

I have exactly that! And I wonder the same thing... it's so big and it feels round, like a head or butt? I'm useless at knowing what's what!x @MrsNT

Prema112 · 16/05/2022 23:03

@MrsNT Yes! Mine is definitely baby butt as sonographer showed me, he sticks his butt out a lot! Also I don't feel much pressure in my pelvis and my baby is head down. I wouldn't know his head is there, I guess he's not 'engaged' yet

@PleaseSendNoodles welcome to the club you NEVER asked to join! I'm basically in denial about everything that's going on down there.

MrsNT · 16/05/2022 23:11

@prema112 @beansprout55 that gives me some hope that baby is head down. If thats the butt where are the legs🤣. Definately wiggles butt alot

fpeg · 17/05/2022 00:38

Hi guys, hope everyone is well. Posting from a FTM perspective (as I'm sure that those of you who have done this before will be well aware 😁). I've been really enjoying being able to breastfeed, but ouch my nipples! (Mainly because they got traumatised when I wasn't making sure she had enough of my areola in her mouth). Today I got some nipple shields delivered and have just used them - OMG the difference! Being able to breastfeed in comfort is so nice. I'm going to use them until my nipples have healed and then se how I go, but mainly to say... don't hold off get them if you think you need them. My milk came in today and my boobs are totally solid if she's had a decent break.

Also, maybe I was just being dumb, but I thought breastfeeding meant they got on the boob bs just kept going until they've had enough, was talking to midwife today and she said what I'm experiencing is totally normal- go on to boob, good few meaningful sucks then a pause then a few more, often having to re-establish latch. She described it as like us drinking a cup of tea, they do it in "sips" - made me feel so much better that I wasn't just doing it wrong.

We ventured to the supermarket for our first outing, made me realise I need to take it slow as I was shattered and my core muscles feeling it after labour. OH was brill though, saw I was tiring and just took care of everything. Major kudos to those of you that have toddlers, etc. as I'm finding it energy draining with just the baby!

Still loving following everyone, the end is in sight! I was in the completely exhausted with pregnancy club and having them in your arms is just so much better, even with the mahoosive sleep deprivation. Fingers crossed she sleeps before 4am tonight 😂

Rolledthedice · 17/05/2022 01:51

So lovely to hear from you @fpeg! 😊 Very glad you’re enjoying being a mummy and getting into the swing of things with breastfeeding.

I’ve been contemplating nipple shields as MW thinks I’ll be sensitive due to having Raynaud’s. So I think I’ll get some in case! What ones did you buy?

PleaseSendNoodles · 17/05/2022 03:25

Hey @fpeg ! Sounds like you’re doing brilliantly! So glad you’re keeping in touch.

fpeg · 17/05/2022 03:46

@Rolledthedice I got the Medela ones. I just folllowed the sizing guide they have and works well.

I've just had 2 hours sleep! Time to celebrate!!!

Starbeach · 17/05/2022 06:16

Morning ladies I feel awful today sorry for for the rant but at 5 o'clock in the morning woke up to a massive row with the oh over my alleged snoring. I know I snore and its been made worse by 2 things pregnancy and the cold he gave me. He keeps waking me to tell me I'm snoring but what's really pissing me off is half the time he's telling me I'm snoring I'm wide awake! Either I'm uncomfortable baby's kicking or I'm boiling hot, one time I was even on my phone as I couldn't sleep!

He keeps telling me to lay facing away from him but he doesn't get how uncomfortable we get. I laid their crying for the best part of an hour this morning before he just got up before his alarm he had no idea what the time was as his phone was charging on my side of the bed. He didn't put his arm around me or nothing which made me feel worse.

He's now got up saying sorry I must have imagined it but I know he's just saying that to shut me up and keep the peace.

I just feel like complete shit now.

CurryandSnuggle · 17/05/2022 06:26

@Starbeach aww I’m sorry to read that. I’m snoring super heavily too, which cannot be helped when we have all this extra weight added to us plus restricted lungs! I do feel for him too as it’s obviously going to affect ones mood when they cannot sleep especially when they’ve got work, so I do get it from his perspective as well. However it’s not your fault and I’m going to hazard a guess that he’s feeling a bit guilty as logically, in the cold light of day, he knows this.

Is there any way you can sleep separately for the time being?

My DS has a bunk bed so DH has been sleeping on the bottom bunk recently.

CurryandSnuggle · 17/05/2022 06:27

Also I snore when I’m just daydreaming/awake but thinking lol. I’ve noticed myself doing it. So maybe you were still snoring even though you were awake 😂 @Starbeach

fpeg · 17/05/2022 06:31

Oh @Starbeach I'm so sorry, massive hugs from me xxx they really don't have any idea just how uncomfortable we get at all! Take the apology, even if he is doing it to keep the peace as you say. Despite his rubbish (ok downright sh*t) behaviour last night, even a keep the peace apology is an indication he is aware he's crossed the line in some way, so it's a win, no matter how small. I'm sure others will be here soon with great advice and even more virtual hugs soon! Tell him you appreciate the apology, and you really need his support not angry words at this stage, especially with hormones as they are. ❤️❤️❤️

CurryandSnuggle · 17/05/2022 06:33

@MrsNT my bubba does this and it’s her bum. Been head down for ages but I only really noticed when the head engaged as it feels rather unpleasant on the bladder. Also when I need to poo it’s much more urgent as there’s quite a bit of pressure there; I’ve started needing to get up for a number 2 in the night which never happened before! (Sorry for TMI)

@fpeg amazing update, and glad she’s feeding well ❤️ thanks for the nipple shield tip. I had luckily thought to buy some just in case and put in the hospital bag, I got the MAM ones. I just struggled to get DS to latch (he wouldn’t open his mouth) so I’m hopeful to get breastfeeding established this time.

Starbeach · 17/05/2022 06:36

@CurryandSnuggle I've told him to just leave me on the sofa but he won't And I hate the thought im waking him as he works stupid hours starts at 6am doesn't come home until 8-9pm (we live on site) and worried he's going to have an accident.

I just think I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed at the moment baby is breech, I'm trying to finish uni, decorating so my house is a mess and doing everything is just getting on top on me.

It's the quickest I've moved in a while though 😂 xx

CurryandSnuggle · 17/05/2022 06:41

@Starbeach aww bless, you’ve got a lot on your plate without lack of sleep and DP having a go as well. I think you need to have an honest chat that you can’t help snoring, you need your sleep as you’re overwhelmed and also you need to be as rested as possible for labour/when baby arrives. Acknowledge it’s hard for him too and you want him rested for work and that’s why it’s important you sleep separately.

I’d honestly sleep on the sofa myself if it meant we were all rested and able to cope better mentally. I did this when I had a nasty cough with covid a couple of weeks ago, and I reckon I slept better on the sofa as didn’t have the guilt of keeping DP awake.

CurryandSnuggle · 17/05/2022 06:45

Also your DP could try earplugs and you could try nasal strips (they are supposed to open up the nasal passages as hormones in pregnancy cause the nasal passages to swell which makes them close together when you lay down).

Letsbekindplease · 17/05/2022 07:36

@Starbeach id it makes you feel better, my DP woke me up the other night to tell me I was snoring like “steam train”. I was absolutely raging because it took me forever to get back to sleep! Of course I didn’t miss him when I saw him the next day. I know he’s tired like your DP but we can’t help it! Like PP mentioned before, our lungs are constricted, so much more weight on us and the amount of saliva we are producing is just adding to the snoring.
may least he gave you a bit of an apology but he needs to u sweat and that it won’t get better any time soon lol. I’d let him take the couch if he finds it u comfortable. Just until the baby is here. My couch isn’t comfortable for me hence why I wouldn’t sleep on it.

@fpeg what a lovely update. So nice to hear from you. Hope you are both doing well. I’ll get those Nicole shields you speak of l. I’m really not clued up about BF at all. I want to initially do it but then switch to formula. Just to get the goodness out and then be able to let partner do some feeds.

I had another crap sleep. This heart burn is torture.

Vimto1991 · 17/05/2022 09:21

On the way to the hospital for my final growth scan and I’ve started getting back cramps. 🤯 my maternity bag is still at home 🙈 really hope it’s just a false alarm or if not I get to come back and grab my bags!!

@Starbeach how horrible of him! I snore loudly, too, and DH has mentioned it to me. He also snores so I just fire that back to him 😅 the whole ‘you must have imagined it’ is very much gas lighting, though. Hope he realises what a dick he’s been to you considering you’re pregnant!! You are going through something just as draining as work right now.

@fpeg what a lovely update, glad you are all doing well! Making me very excited for what’s to come (other than the sore nips), will look into getting some nipple shields just in case!

unknownscot · 17/05/2022 10:09

This is probably TMI ... two bouts of loose stool this morning. I'm really hoping with the cramping that that means my body is preparing for labour in the next few weeks 😂🤞🏼

Prema112 · 17/05/2022 10:49

@unknownscot Sounds promising!!
@Vimto1991 Hope you can get your bag if it is labour! So weird that it's kinda any day in these last weeks of tri 3
@Starbeach Sorry to hear you've been upset this morning ❤️ Lack of and interrupted sleep can cause so much strife, definitely not your fault you are snoring! Hope you can find a way for you both to get a better sleep before baby comes.
@fpeg So lovely to hear from you! Nipple shields are great! You've reminded me I need to sterilise mine, or maybe just buy new ones.

Ladies with kids already, are they reacting to baby coming at all? My 6 year old is being pretty awful, I assume it's because mummy doesn't play much anymore and maybe the fear of the unknown. We are trying to talk to him more about what's going to happen and how he's feeling. He's made me cry a couple of times this week with unkind things he's said, of course I'm super emotional right now anyway so crying a lot, our house feels quite fractious right now

unknownscot · 17/05/2022 11:59

One massive piece of advice - book a pregnancy massage at home.

I've just had the most blissful full body massage at home which she ended with reflexology and I'm soooo chilled.

Off for a nap x

Vimto1991 · 17/05/2022 12:51

@Prema112 i mentioned the pain to my consultant and she said it’s very common to get aches and cramps this far gone!

im also being induced to make sure I don’t go over 40 weeks, they’ve booked me in at 38+6 for a sweep but it’s the day before the anniversary of my aunts death, I hope they let me move it to when I’m 39+1 :(
