@RoseValleyRamblesah yes - I remember you saying about baby being breech now! Thank you, she eventually moved! I ended up going in to get checked today anyway. She’s apparently kicking loads I just can’t feel it… which is frustrating!

@Prema112Thank you! I’m starting to feel it a bit more emotionally, now. Especially dealing with the worries of abnormalities/reduced movements alone.

@EarlGreywithLemon I guess being scheduled for a section takes the pressure off trying to get baby to flip! Also. I really thought you were naming him Jim for a minute 😂

@annie1994Sounds like they could be turning! I guess you can ask at your next appointment!

@Flowerbug1994 I get this, 100% They wont even attempt a breech vaginal birth at my hospital but I’m not complaining. I’m tempted to try manual turning but only a day or two before a planned section. CERTAINLY not doing it without my husband present… which means holding off til last minute when it’s unlikely to be effective…. 🤷🏼‍♀️

EarlGreywithLemon · 16/05/2022 04:56

@RoseValleyRambles I was discussing baby products with our health visitor at her first post partum visit, and she said “anything but Johnson!”. So you’re right, it does have issues.

RoseValleyRambles · 16/05/2022 06:51

@earlgreywithlemon Sad days, but it's what I expected. Maybe I'll just have a bottle around to sniff occasionally... :D

Octoblockisadick · 16/05/2022 07:19

@Brightsmoke you have good friends and family! Always appreciated when people help clear up afterwards haha.

@Prema112 oh I know the feeling about not picking stuff up from the floor! I've decided stuff can live there now until someone else moves it haha. I'm also ready to have baby now. And sorry about your chair, you looking for another one?

@RoseValleyRambles @EarlGreywithLemon I remember going to baby massage with my daughter and they used vegetable oil haha. I asked about j&j, and they said absolutely loads of babies are allergic to it.

Last week of work before mat leave for me today, I'm torn between being ready to leave, and wishing I was staying a couple more weeks. Don't think it helps that I've got a new job so not really going back as such. I'll be based in the same hospital but with a completely new team, and I'm starting to get nervous haha.
Also bought baby an outfit in asda yesterday, how cute is this haha

Also, bump update haha. I feel huge!

Prema112 · 16/05/2022 07:45

@Octoblockisadick Such a cute outfit!! Yeah I'm now looking at just buying a chair, I don't know why I'm so obsessed, we can't even fit a chair in our flat but I reeeeeeally want one!

Prema112 · 16/05/2022 07:45

Lovely bump!

CurryandSnuggle · 16/05/2022 08:39

Beautiful bump @Octoblockisadick perfect size 🙂

Roxystar23 · 16/05/2022 10:37

Hello Everyone! Hope you all had lovely weekends!

@Octoblockisadick - Aww! Lovely bump!

I finish work 2 weeks on Wednesday - I can’t wait. I hated firing up the laptop this morning and opening my work inbox. I’ve got to go into the office on Wednesday (hopefully for the last time before I go on leave) - I’m already dreading it. It takes me ages to get going in the morning & then I will have to waddle the long walk from the car park to the office building and then navigate myself to my desk. When all I want to do is stay at home in my comfies.

I’ll be 37 weeks this week - bag still isn’t packed! 😳@Octoblockisadick - Might have to purchase some crisps for it - great shout! Although I can see myself as someone who will just try and drink fluids and maybe send my partner to M&S for some watermelon slices or something. @Letsbekindplease - thanks for sharing your list - Dry Shampoo is added to my shopping list. Great contingency plan!! I think my thinking is that I can’t relax until my bag is packed and baby won’t want to come until I’m feeling relaxed so I’m keeping myself in this limbo land a bit longer. Haha! Maybe after I’ve been to the office this week I will pack it then - I’ve just got visions of my waters breaking in the middle of the office at the moment and really don’t want that. Haha!

Letsbekindplease · 16/05/2022 10:44

@Roxystar23 I can’t relax either. My bag will be finalised in the next 3 days. I FINALLY got a nightdress (the one I gave birth to my son in. Found it in the loft last night. And I also got some crisps from previous recommendations. So I’ll get that all sorted. i don’t know why I’ve left this so late haha. I’m terrible. I can’t even use work as an excuse because I’ve been off for a month.

hope your last few days at work goes great and quick @Roxystar23

gorgeous bump @Octoblockisadick

unknownscot · 16/05/2022 10:46

@Flowerbug1994

Interesting you say kicks high up are a sign as a head down baby.
My baby has been head down for at least 10 weeks or so but is curled right up so kicks are low left as he/she is head down, bum upper right and legs lower left.

unknownscot · 16/05/2022 10:53

@beansprout55
Thank you. It was honestly the most perfect day. Everyone had gone to such an effort. We did some games and had food and cakes.

One of the games everyone had sent in a baby photo and I had to guess who they were, it was adorable.

And the most special thing, instead of cards everyone bought/brought the baby a book. Either an old or new one, but one that meant something to them or to me.

It was such a special day, even more so after theee rounds of IVF!

Flowerbug1994 · 16/05/2022 11:09

@unknownscot when I was wondering why i wasn’t getting high up kicks or the feet and stuff sticking out of bump what people usually have i was told it’s because he’s breech and legs are low down. I suppose everyone is different depending on position.

CurryandSnuggle · 16/05/2022 11:10

@unknownscot thats how my baby is positioned as well! I also mostly feeling the kicks on the left, usually low but sometimes high.

Prema112 · 16/05/2022 11:20

@Roxystar23 With my first I refused to pack my bag until after 37 weeks when I'd finished work with the same rationale as you: baby won't come until you're feeling relaxed! Worked for us but I guess it's a little risky 😂

Prema112 · 16/05/2022 11:23

My baby is also head down and curved so I get kicks on my far right and occasionally in my ribs and his bum pushing out just to the left of my belly button!

Prema112 · 16/05/2022 11:26

I've finally attempted perineal massage at 37+5 and definitely can't reach! I'm not buying a tool so either DH is gonna have to do it or it just won't be done. I'm all swollen down there plus the piles just does not make me want anyone fiddling around so likely won't be doing it!

Letsbekindplease · 16/05/2022 12:03

@Prema112 my pile pal 😅

Prema112 · 16/05/2022 14:04

@Letsbekindplease 😂😩😭

CurryandSnuggle · 16/05/2022 14:17

@Prema112 I’m not doing the perineal massage either, there’s no way I would reach and no way DH would do it 😂

I tried colostrum harvesting today and barely got anything. 😬 I’ll try again later!

CurryandSnuggle · 16/05/2022 14:19

Oh also I went to the clinic today to get my blood pressure and urine checked due to swelling - no issues. Phew! 🙂

PleaseSendNoodles · 16/05/2022 16:21

@CurryandSnuggle oh that’s great news! Must be a relief.

@Letsbekindplease and @Prema112 can I join the pile club? 😆 They’re really getting me down. I think it’s knowing they’re not leaving for a while that’s the worst… also not bothering with perineal massage as C-section so likely for me 🤷🏼‍♀️

Vimto1991 · 16/05/2022 17:24

@CurryandSnuggle
i tried it the other day and it made me feel faint. I squeezed and got a bit of… ahem… juice out… but not thick like I was expecting. Should I have just kept going? It’d have taken ages to fill the syringe. 😂

also my babies position is head down but they change so much it changes how much I feel and where. I have such a wriggly baby and I think that’s why there is no pattern. On a usual day I think bum is in my right rib, legs kick the left side of my belly. The past two CTGs they’ve had to strap in the straps as baby is neither back to back nor back to belly but at an odd angle. 😅

I am not sure how you guys are still at work. I have the upmost respect. I’ve been off for two weeks now and feel so tired and drained just from house work or trips to the hospital when baby doesn’t cooperate. 😅 earlier DH was installing the Isofix base into my car and I carried the car seat back upstairs as I don’t want to leave it in my car and felt like passing out!! So kudos to you guys still out there. 🥺

Vimto1991 · 16/05/2022 17:26

@Prema112 i feel swollen down there, too!! Honestly the past week it feels like someone’s kicked me right in the fanny, I had a feel down there as it’s all swollen! 😬 how strange!

Letsbekindplease · 16/05/2022 20:25

@PleaseSendNoodles of course! Proudest club I’ve been a part of haha. I’m just glad mine isn’t sore anymore. Still very much there and causing be grief some days, but not like it was when it raised its ugly head! Ugh!

My vag also feels swollen and that whole area is weighted down with baby.

do you guys spend much time on your balls? I’ve just managed to get mine blown up and bouncing away on it (when my toddler isn’t trying to steal it) only doing 10 mins here and there.
