@CurryandSnuggle

I went in on Friday night due to my swelling. They did bloods as I'd had headaches and blurred vision too.

All ok but my ankles are enormous and stay pitted with pressed.

The midwife reassured me but to keep an eye on it.

See how you are after a sleep and if still swollen tomorrow morning id ask to be seen

Xx

PeeAche2 · 14/05/2022 21:24

Congratulations @fpeg !!!!! Xxxxxxxx God, she's gorgeous. Partyi

beansprout55 · 14/05/2022 21:25

@CurryandSnuggle have you been very active today at all?

@unknownscot big hugs. We all know how you feel. Remember we are our own worst enemies when it comes to critiquing our bodies, you are pregnant - not unattractive!x
Tomorrow is about you and baby, all your friends/family just want to see you and have fun, you'll look gorgeous and be glowing with your beautiful bump. xx

beansprout55 · 14/05/2022 21:26

Yay @PeeAche2!! How is it having baby girl at home?? Are you both doing ok??x

CurryandSnuggle · 14/05/2022 21:43

@unknownscot sorry to read you’re struggling with it too, it’s quite uncomfortable isn’t it. I’m glad yours is all ok ❤️ I’ll phone the hospital tomorrow if it’s still bad.

@beansprout55 less active today than other days, but it has been hotter today which could have something to do with it.

mrkb · 14/05/2022 21:46

@pregnancydiaries I've had this for the last 2 weeks. I went in last Friday and they said it was either: braxton hicks, a sign that labour was on the way within the next week or 2, or something unrelated to pregnancy, so not that helpful. Even though it's not gone away I haven't gone back in again - I figure as long as I can feel baby move and it doesn't get worse then I'll just wait and see.

@unknownscot I have cried loads today and yesterday and I know it's hormones but still not fun. I also feel enormous, unattractive and am sick of feeling like I don't have any control over my body. We had a picnic with BIL & SIL earlier and I farted loudly when clearing some stuff up completely out of the blue and was just so mortified I burst into tears! Just trying to tell myself that we're in the final stretch now and it will all be worth it!

RoseValleyRambles · 14/05/2022 22:19

@pregnancydiaries I've had that on and off throughout, though in my case it's related to fibroids. Worth getting it checked if it persists. X

PlodandPod · 14/05/2022 23:18

@CurryandSnuggle @unknownscot I've had swollen feet and ankles for about 2 weeks
now. Sometimes really painful too. They stay pitted when pressed and are definitely making me feel unattractive! The only time mine are normal is for about 5 minutes when I first wake up in the morning 😬 Midwife told me to try and elevate my feet above my heart but very much easier said than done 😂

I’m in the no sex club too. I couldn’t think of anything worse this full pregnancy lol. DP gets weirded out about it too so it suits us both haha. Obv if I want to try being labour on then we have agreed that we will try but only as a last resort.

I feel like I could drop any minute. Hoping for a good nights rest and the next few weeks to be nice and easy.

JAR1981 · 15/05/2022 02:58

@laurenGame as @CurryandSnuggle says you wouldn’t mistake your bloody show. I had mine this evening 😱. Jelly-like blob about the size of a £2 coin that was tinged with blood and have had pink watery/blood tinged discharge since. Typically it happened just as we were going out for our last fancy dinner date. I was a bit distracted!! Was hoping it was a sign things are about to get moving but nothing else beyond the odd bit of lightening crotch yet, which I don’t think is a sign.

I am up however up with the absolute worst leg cramps. Did someone say they had these a few days back? I literally jumped out of bed squealing, I think my poor husband nearly had a heart attack. Now sent him to sleep in the spare room as my leg is still so sore I just can’t get comfy and need to keep walking round.

laurenGame · 15/05/2022 03:52

I did have a blob bigger than £2, maybe about two of those! No blood but either white or milky, I can't leave the house without pantries and even then feels like a period 🫣 It's been like this for weeks and I'm only almost 33 weeks, really hope it's not labour soon, need the bub to cook for a little bit longer.

@beansprout55 yes I'm in Aus, what good memory you have Grin I kind of went off the radar for a few months mid-pregnancy, no reason just got busy with life.

Yes the bleeding stopped at about 14 weeks, I remember you were bleeding similar to me and it was such an awful nerve wracking time, bless us. I don't bleed anymore but when discharge is heavy and I think it'll be blood, I'm not worried at all Smile

Brightsmoke · 15/05/2022 06:22

Also in the no sex club. My husband is weirded out by it, so won't try it at all 😂. I just want baby out so will do anything 🤣. My delightful child has woken up at 5.30 each day this weekend. He's too excited about his party today, yay for me 🙃. I have my last pregnancy massage on Tuesday, so really hoping she relaxes me enough for baby to make an appearance afterwards haha.

Hope everyone's had a lovely weekend so far. Today will be so full on for me, but I'm planning on sleeping alllll day tomorrow

PleaseSendNoodles · 15/05/2022 06:56

@laurenGame and @caz198917 you’re both back! Hi! Doesn’t it feel like thread 1 was a million years ago??

Sorry everyone, I struggled to keep up for a couple of weeks but feel like I’m more up to date now! I’ve had a crap week, going to the hospital far more than I would have liked. Think all is well with tiny babe…

BUT it’s currently 2am (where I am) and I’m sat awake waiting for movements. This anterior placenta doesn’t make it easy. I was monitored for decreased movements last night so I realllyyyy don’t want to go in again.

As much as I don’t know if I can hold onto this stress for another 4 weeks, husband won’t be home until then so she better stay in til 39 weeks 🥴

Anyone else’s baby currently breech/transverse?

RoseValleyRambles · 15/05/2022 07:32

@pleasesendnoodles Hope you got your kicks! We're still breech here, and consultant doesn't think he has enough room to turn. Bladder kicks to the very end for me...

Prema112 · 15/05/2022 08:03

Not much sex going on here either, we're both too tired and busy! But will try it to get labour started for sure. @Brightsmoke good luck for party day! I found my sons party last weekend so draining but I was going on adrenaline so didn't feel tired until it was over. @JAR1981 I had an awful leg cramp a week ago and then couldn't walk the next day- hope you can today! Welcome back @laurenGame & @caz198917! @PleaseSendNoodles Sorry to hear you've had a worrying time, really hope your baby stays put until your DH can get to you, you've done amazingly well doing most of your pregnancy alone

unknownscot · 15/05/2022 08:17

The leg cramping is worse for me when in bed and usually during the night. A good flex of my foot to stretch out the calf muscle usually does the trick. If I extend my foot down it's absolute agony!!

Prema112 · 15/05/2022 08:27

@unknownscot Same, always in bed, I find if I can get my toes up and heel down (while lying down) quick enough it stops the cramp progressing

Prema112 · 15/05/2022 08:59

Anyone else got a constant half numb thigh?!

GrowBabyGrow · 15/05/2022 09:14

I had my worst ever leg cramp last night, absolute agony and had to use my hypnobirthing breathing to get through it until it calmed down! Did make me a bit nervous about labour...

@Prema112 my friend had that when pregnant with her DC, it was because baby was squishing some of the nerves

CurryandSnuggle · 15/05/2022 09:27

@RoseValleyRambles my DS (first pregnancy) was breech, I tried the techniques on Spinning Babies website and it worked. Don’t write it off yet, there’s still possibility that bubba will turn with a helping hand

@PlodandPod omg I know, how are we supposed to raise our feet higher than our heart when we aren’t supposed to lay on our back lol. It also annoys me as I’m trying to remain upright as much as possible as it’s conducive for a better fetal position for birth, but my feet are so swollen and uncomfortable. Argh! Can’t win. On the plus, only 3 weeks to go hopefully.

Octoblockisadick · 15/05/2022 09:28

So tmi (sorry!) but I want to know if its normal and i dont know who else to ask haha.
We tried to have sex but it didn't go too well. It gave me contractions, and now I have a really low pressure in my pelvis. Pains have stopped now though. Also felt very 'dry' which made it quite painful. If it hurts to have sex, how the fuck is a baby going to come out 😩😩😩.

Sorry for the tmi!!!

CurryandSnuggle · 15/05/2022 09:35

@Octoblockisadick your body is designed to birth your baby, try to remain positive as you don’t want to panic. Maybe look up some positive birth affirmations to help you when doubts creep in.
Also, as grim as this sounds, all sorts of liquid will be coming out of you when bubba is being born, giving you lots of natural lubrication.

Maybe you were dry during sex because you weren’t able to get comfortable and relax. Try not to let it panic you. Remember putting something in is different from something coming out!

Vimto1991 · 15/05/2022 09:48

Anyone else suffering in this heat? I have slept only a few hours last night through the heat, even the fan didn’t help. I’m so worried about SIDS with the baby, our room is at 23 right now that’s with a window and fan on :( it’s sooooo stuffy as well.
I have no idea what to do, maybe get an air con unit?

doesn’t help I think I’m getting DHs head cold. Whichever side i lie on I find my sinuses block. On top of it, my ear keeps croaking and my jaw hurts.

EarlGreywithLemon · 15/05/2022 12:15

@PleaseSendNoodles our baby was breech at the last scan three weeks ago. We have another scan next week, so we’ll know more then. But I don’t think he’s turned - first because I didn’t feel a big turn, and also because I’m getting lots of movement low down in the pelvis that feels like kicks. It doesn’t matter so much for us, as I’m having a C section anyway.

Clomid1 · 15/05/2022 12:47

@Vimto1991 this scares me too and I think many people. Our lounge is a couple of degrees colder than our bedroom so if it gets really hot I thought we could move her down there (got a bedside crib so shouldn’t be too difficult to move).

I’ve bought a dehumidifier to try and pull down the humidity level and make it slightly less stuffy. Also have a large tower fan. I thought about whether I should get an air conditioner, they are about £600 in currys unsure if they are any good. But like you I am super worried and wondering if thats the safest option to go for.

hopefully someone who isn’t a ftm might be able to advise
