Quick question for all that have packed hospital bags. I really need to start it as am 35+5 today likely to be took in for section between 38+3 with a funny feeling this baby is going to make an appearance sooner. Have you ironed babys clothes ? Am going to pack into ziplock bags from Amazon with grower nappy vest and bib but unsure wheather to iron will they just crease anyway being in ziplock bags for 3 weeks ?

Lostintranslatio · 11/05/2022 10:19

@Flowerbug1994 ive washed and iron all my baby clothes, but pretty sure that it will be the only time they are ironed 😂😂😂😂 I have packed baby's bag, but I still need to get some stuff for me to pack mine.

@pregnancydiaries did you clean the oven yourself? I have a can of oven cleaner waiting but I'm kind of afraid of using it now. And definitely the oven needs to be cleaned, especially now that we are moving out.

@Slanketeer i feel so jealous right now of you being in your new house. We are also moving but still not sure when it will happen, so boxes everywhere waiting too for me 😑😑

Vimto1991 · 11/05/2022 10:20

@Flowerbug1994 I just packed them in neatly, although DH threw in some spares without neatly folding 🤦‍♀️I’m not sure it’s the type of material to get really crinkly anyway.

imhereforthecake · 11/05/2022 10:58

So I had an interesting night.
Had a massive bleed and ended up on delivery suite. Bleeding has all stopped and baby is fine but they have given me steroids just incase. No answer to what caused it. Waiting on the next dose then fingers crossed home tomorrow! Steroids have sent my sugars dolally so having to have them checked hourly 😭
Grateful baby is ok but I just want my bed!

EarlGreywithLemon · 11/05/2022 11:07

@Flowerbug1994 definitely no ironing here I’m afraid! I did wash them, because they are our daughter’s clothes who came from the attic. But when she was born and they were new, she wore them straight out of the packet. No harm done - although maybe I’m a bit more germ phobic now post Covid.

@imhereforthecake gosh, how scary and stressful for you! I’m so sorry to hear, but glad you are both OK. Fingers crossed for going home ASAP!

fpeg · 11/05/2022 11:39

@imhereforthecake glad to hear it's all stopped but how scary for you! You have my sympathies for the steroid injections because they are not fun! Hope it all stays settled down!

beansprout55 · 11/05/2022 13:17

Oh my gosh @imhereforthecake! How terrifying for you. So glad both ok. Was it spotting or bleeding like a period? Bright red?

@JAR1981 I phoned the MW about my pink/purple discharge and she said as it happened last week AND this week she wanted me to phone the hospital to get it checked out.... I phoned and they said as long as it's not bright red and my waters haven't gone they don't want to see me.
I hope they're right and all is ok!

33+3 and it hurts to walk, sleep, eat and breathe. All those who are further along, does it all get much worse?? 😂

imhereforthecake · 11/05/2022 13:19

@EarlGreywithLemon
@fpeg

Thank you both

@beansprout55
Unfortunately it was full on bleeding with clots. I stood up and laughed to my husband that I have wet myself but was blood. All ok at the moment though thank god. Just having to have steroids just incase he decides nows the time!

Vimto1991 · 11/05/2022 13:59

@beansprout55 sorry to say it only gets worse 😂 36 weeks here and I went out shopping and felt like passing out. Fatigue is so bad at the moment!!

@imhereforthecake Good to hear bleeding has stopped. How strange they aren’t sure why! Hopefully you can get some answers, stabilise, and go home to your bed asap!!

when lying on your side does anyone else see their belly pulsate? I’m not sure if it’s my pulse or the baby doing some weird hand play, or even babies pulse.

pregnancydiaries · 11/05/2022 14:14

@Lostintranslatio no I just scrubbed it all clean and the trays and then my OH will put the cleaning solution in it over night tonight because like you I was too scared to use it 😂 I can't believe you're moving now!!

@imhereforthecake I'm so glad to hear baby is ok, that sounds absolutely terrifying. How are you feeling? Emotionally and physically drained I assume. Lots of hugs xxx

Lostintranslatio · 11/05/2022 14:25

@pregnancydiaries I have taken the spray out of the press three times just to put it back in straightway 😂 I will have to go after DP so he cleans it 😂

Yes! We are moving! I'd have chosen for it to happen in a few months but it has to be now 😳

Flowerbug1994 · 11/05/2022 14:51

Looks like am heading back in for reduced movements been brilliant for a week really consistent and today just been so quite I tried something to eat and cold sweet drink as was told by midwife but only had 4 movements in 2 hours which doesn’t sit well so am going in xxxx

Letsbekindplease · 11/05/2022 15:25

@Flowerbug1994 let us know how you get on.

@imhereforthecake gosh, you must have been so scared. I’m glad everything is ok though. Wonder what caused that.

I also haven’t ironed anything apart from the “going home outfit” but I only did that because it was so creased. With my 1st born I washed and ironed every single thing lol

Flowerbug1994 · 11/05/2022 16:05

@Letsbekindplease i think am in for a long wait here. I feel silly coming in for like the 4th time but after 3 days of very active movements it’s slowed right down and I just panic something is wrong

sunflower198 · 11/05/2022 16:58

The heartburn is really getting me the past few days. Last pregnancy I lived on Gaviscon but it doesn't seem to be doing anything this time around, what's everybody else using for heartburn? X

I've just been prescribed omeprazole

annie1994 · 11/05/2022 17:05

@imhereforthecake how scary for you! Glad bleeding has stopped for now and fingers crossed you’ll be back in your own bed tomorrow 🤞🏼

@Flowerbug1994 hope everything is ok! I wouldn’t worry about feeling silly. If you’re just going to stay at home and worry then you’re better just going in for the reassurance/ just incase!

I had a growth scan this morning and baby is still transverse. I’m 33 weeks so still time, and he still has his big belly, must take that from me 😂

annie1994 · 11/05/2022 17:06

@unknownscot omeprazole but you need a prescription from GP for it. Take one or two a day and works really well preventing the acid reflux!

Vimto1991 · 11/05/2022 17:10

@Flowerbug1994 hope all is okay! Fingers crossed you don’t need to wait too long. Never feel silly, you are putting your baby first at the end of the day. Hey, if it’s busy, all those other moms also felt the same. :)

@sunflower198 brute strength is all I am surviving on. Can’t take a lot of heartburn stuff cause of my thyroid medication, when I can take it in the evening I survive off standard rennies, but I’ve heard heartburn all day this week. 😭

fpeg · 11/05/2022 17:13

@Flowerbug1994 hope everything goes ok and baby is just being a monkey! It's never wasting anyone's time to check things are ok x

@sunflower198 gaviscon stopped cutting it for me about 3 weeks ago as well and I got prescribed omeprazole which has been wonderful! Hospital consultant prescribed me 40mg a day, GP said "oooh that's high I'm only going to give you 20mg" I've ended up alternating one day at 20 and one day at 40mg and that works for me.

sunflower198 · 11/05/2022 17:16

Thanks all for the omeprazole recommendations - I hadn't considered the GP could prescribe something 🤦🏻‍♀️
I've just been bought more gaviscon so I'll see how I get on tonight (but hardly slept last night as felt so rough!) and I'll probably ring GP tomorrow and see if I can get omeprazole prescribed 🤞🏻

Vimto1991 · 11/05/2022 17:18

@Flowerbug1994 I’m also curious to know what you regard as movements as you said you had a few within a few hours. My baby does a bit of rolling (36 so maybe all they can manage) once an hour, I just class that as one movement. I don’t really get kicks depending on their position, so don’t feel like I can’t count some of their movements?

Flowerbug1994 · 11/05/2022 17:27

@Vimto1991 i generally count them as a good roll or a kick am 35+5. Mines breech so I don’t get kicks or movements high up I get kicks low down and like feet patters. I had 4 movements in 2 hours which I just know is not right for him. I haven’t had a pattern whole way along but the past 3 days had a super active baby and then not much today.

Vimto1991 · 11/05/2022 17:38

@Flowerbug1994 fingers crossed all is okay, I had a super active baby for three days and then one quiet day (almost
like they were getting their energy back) then movements got back into a bit of a pattern. Still not something I can just rely on, so always best to rely on instinct so you have done the right thing going to triage even if it’s just for peace of mind!

Has anyone looked into a perineal massage tool?
