Hi everyone,

I'm sorry I've been so terrible at posting updates. Since having our baby home, life has just gone manic. The days are moving way faster than I ever imagined.

I'm so sorry to hear about anyone that has covid and I wish you a speedy recovery.

@thewindbeneathmywings congratulations on your gorgeous baby boy! He's beautiful. It must have been such a surprise.

I'm thinking of you all, ladies. This is now the most exciting and wonderful time.xxx

Lostintranslatio · 08/05/2022 11:05

I wasn't planning on getting a Moses basket because in our apartment our bedroom is beside the living room. But now that we are moving out, in the new house the master bed is on the second floor. Might be a good idea to get sth for the baby to sleep downstairs instead of going up and down the stairs all day 🙄

Prema112 · 08/05/2022 12:34

Hey @PeeAche2, just wondering what did you wear the first few days in hospital while you were still in bed? I can't remember from last time what I wore, nighties?!

Prema112 · 08/05/2022 12:46

Anyone in London recommended a pregnancy massage that's cheaper than cowshed?!

annie1994 · 08/05/2022 13:19

@Vimto1991 I get bad night sweats too! I hate it, wake up absolutely drenched in sweat. I remember getting them in my first pregnancy as well, never know whether to go under or over the duvet!!

pregnancydiaries · 08/05/2022 15:29

@Letsbekindplease we got this one for the living room! It was such a bargain and it's gorgeous and really good quality. Hood is detachable as I prefer it without xx

EarlGreywithLemon · 08/05/2022 15:32

@Letsbekindplease we have a Shnuggle Moses basket we had for our daughter. They are larger than usual, so she was in it for a while - about 5 months I think.

CurryandSnuggle · 08/05/2022 16:34

Sorry guys, catching up on like 5 pages but I had been feel really rather unwell with covid.

@thewindbeneathmywings OMG amazing news, beautiful boy, massive congratulations! Wow, what a speedy delivery too!!
@JAR1981 thank you for asking, I'm doing much better today, I feel like I'm coming out the other side now, aside from a nasty cough. I'm sorry to read your symptoms, that must have been quite scary for you. I'm glad you can breathe better now and that you're on the mend. I haven't had shortness of breath so haven't informed the hospital. Baby movements are good here too so I've tried not to get too anxious about it. But you did the right thing in contacting hospital in your case and getting oxymeter.

@t0nim92 Oh no, not you as well!!! Wishing you a speedy recovery. Bloody covid.

@Annabell1 @PeeAche2 Thanks for the well wishes
PeeAche I hope you're all settling in well, I'm so happy for you :)

Happy maternity leave @Prema112 Hope your son's birthday party went well. I started my leave on Friday too! Not quite the send off I was hoping for as I felt like death warmed up on Friday but woohoo REST TIME before bubba!!

@Brightsmoke if it helps re: size of the baby, my friend said she had a better birth with her 10lb baby than she did with her 7lb baby. Size doesn't necessarily mean that the birth will be more difficult.

@Vimto1991 I'm glad I got covid sooner rather than later as it would be a nightmare if it happened around due date, but ideally I would have preferred not to have had it lol. However at least baby is extra protected now.

@pregnancydiaries I am so sorry you are getting hypermesis again. Send love and hope you feel better very soon!

@letsbekindplease I bought this moses basket: www.online4baby.com/4baby-tiny-ted-grey-wicker-moses-basket-natural-folding-stand-white

pregnancydiaries · 08/05/2022 17:23

Thanks @CurryandSnuggle, not quite as bad as the early days but that's probably a lot of mental capacity knowing the end is near. So glad to hear you are starting to feel a little better, although sounds like you've had a rubbish time of it. Rest up - it can't be long for you now? I'm sure you're one of the earlier ones!

We also bought very similar Moses baskets, they are such good quality!xx

Letsbekindplease · 08/05/2022 18:26

Thanks ladies for the links etc. they’re very like what I had already and I loved it.

I feel awful tonight. Had a sore head today and just not feeling myself. Slept 2.5 hours and when I woke up I had to run and be sick! Haven’t been sick in so long so it took me by surprise. 36 weeks on Wednesday. Hate to wish a pregnancy away but boy am I!?!!

Octoblockisadick · 08/05/2022 21:09

@Vimto1991 I've been getting those! If I'm not under the covers I'm freezing, but as soon as I go under them I'm sweating like mad. I thought it was just my duvet was too thick for the warmer weather though, didn't even consider pregnancy 🤣

So glad you are starting to feel better @CurryandSnuggle . I've also heard that bigger babies can give easier labours - gravity helping the baby out perhaps? Fingers crossed anyway!

Anyone else feeling quite dizzy? I've felt dizzy and lightheaded on and off all day, I've had sugar and it's made no difference.
I also feel quite uncomfortable, I can't seem to get in a comfortable position at all.
Also been in nesting mode today, wanted to do a million things and annoyed at myself for being unable to because of the dizziness and struggling with moving around haha. I can't seem to win! 🤣🤣

Vimto1991 · 08/05/2022 21:11

@annie1994 @Octoblockisadick this is why I love this group. I get to find out it’s just a pregnancy thing and I’m not going mad or coming down with something. 😂 that is literally how I am the past two nights though, stuck between freezing and sweating. 😩

DaimDillyDoo · 08/05/2022 21:52

@thewindbeneathmywings congratulations!! ❤️

My growth scan went fine, she's measuring 5lb 11 and has grown since the last scan so we're all happy.

@PeeAche2 hope you've settled at home with your little one :)

I finished my hospitals bags yesterday and I'm all ready for her arrival. I hope everyone is well and enjoying the last few weeks!

PeeAche2 · 08/05/2022 22:16

@Prema112 I wore joggers and Ts.xxx

Letsbekindplease · 09/05/2022 02:30

ive had BH the full evening and I’ve just had to get up to be sick again. What’s going on? I haven’t know BH to go on for so long. I’m ok now apart from the sick park. No pleasant.

CurryandSnuggle · 09/05/2022 03:02

@Letsbekindplease you could be in actual labour. Might be worth speaking to labour ward.

CurryandSnuggle · 09/05/2022 07:03

@pregnancydiaries sorry almost missed your message!! Aww yeah it must help to know that the end is in sight. Glad you are coping 🙂

I’m due 3rd June so not long!! 🥰

CurryandSnuggle · 09/05/2022 07:04

When’s your due date out of interest? @pregnancydiaries

RooSut25 · 09/05/2022 07:41

For the Moses baskets, are you just using the mattress that comes with it or getting something thicker? Same question for travel cots... And are you getting waterproof covers / spare sheets or just using what they come with?

Turniptracker · 09/05/2022 07:53

Can I ask an awkward question about discharge? So I know it ramps up in pregnancy but so far it's been a creamy kind of consistency. Yesterday and last night (dark so wasn't really looking or paying attention) I noticed when I wiped it was very slippy, reminded me of the ovulation "egg white" discharge. Also in underwear the residue is different (actually reminds me a bit of dried PVA glue). Sorry tmi! Just wondering if this is just normal discharge I haven't had before in the pregnancy or it might be the beginning of the show?

Lostintranslatio · 09/05/2022 08:05

@RooSut25 I have bought waterproof protector for both the cot and the pram bassinet, and a couple of sheet for each, recommended by a friend as she had to wash them more than once after poonamis, baby getting sick, etc.

I still haven't decided about the Moses basket, but my mam bought a travel cot for her house and she says she is going to get a thicker mattress for it.

Vimto1991 · 09/05/2022 08:53

@Turniptracker I had this, but mine was slightly yellow. Turns out I have thrush again so prescribed canestan by the team of midwives at the hospital. Although, I’m not sure if my discharge has ramped up regardless due to us being so close to the end of pregnancy!

oh guys, I have truly been blessed with A FULL NIGHTS SLEEP today!! 🤯 the only difference I made was not drinking a lot before sleep and having a fan in the room to help with night sweats. Okay, I kinda lie, I woke up a few times with heart burn, but I almost made it a full night. 😳😂

Octoblockisadick · 09/05/2022 08:56

@Turniptracker no idea what it might be, but mine is the same.

Woop @Vimto1991 ! Yay for a decent night sleep haha. I find if I manage to sleep through I need a wee so bad when I wake up I can barely walk to the toilet 🙈

Letsbekindplease · 09/05/2022 09:19

@CurryandSnuggle the BH hicks
wore off. I was actually a bit worried thinking it was early labour. I have nothing organised ie- hospital bag etc so that was going through my mind lol.

I’ve been sick numerous times this morning. Proper bright yellow bile (sorry, too much information again) no idea whats going on there. Have the house to myself today and it will be spent in bed watching documentaries and feeling sorry for myself. I might even attempt the actually sorting of the hospital bag if I feel up to it

CurryandSnuggle · 09/05/2022 09:35

@Letsbekindplease awww bless you, that sounds horrendous! It could just be that your stomach is squashed by the baby. Not fun. My midwife said we can reduce it by eating small amounts often rather than bigger meals.

Just be careful of the symptoms of labour as sickness can also mean labour is starting for some people.

Hope you feel better soon.

If you don’t feel up to actually packing your bag (which is totally understandable), could you write a list and ask someone else to help you pack it? Xx
