@Turniptracker mine has been very similar to what you describe for the last week.

@Vimto1991 yay! For the (almost) night's sleep 😁

@Letsbekindplease glad they wore off for you! Hope the sickness subsides too though, not very nice 😔 I've been having more of a feeling of nausea too and am extremely uncomfortable where she is positioned so I'm pretty sure it is to do with just running out of space (she's fully engaged and I thought that was meant to free up space, not true for me so far!)

beansprout55 · 09/05/2022 09:58

@Turniptracker my CM has varied so much throughout pregnancy, as it would a normal cycle. Dry days, egg white days, creamy days. It's totally normal.
This week I had a giant glob of jelly and the next two days pink discharge! Apparently your mucus plug can start shedding weeks before labour and it can rebuild itself again. I'm guessing that's what it was - MW wasn't concerned in the slightest, didn't even want to see me. I'm 33 weeks.

CurryandSnuggle · 09/05/2022 09:58

@fpeg my bubba is 3/5 engaged so not fully however I also still don’t have much space. I’ve been snacking on healthy things throughout the day which has really helped.

EarlGreywithLemon · 09/05/2022 10:00

@RooSut25 we are using the original mattresses for both the Snuzpod and the Shnuggle Moses basket; we did the same for our daughter (but bought new mattresses this time). We have a waterproof mattress protector and four spare sheets for each. Our daughter was very refluxy, so we needed them!

Vimto1991 · 09/05/2022 10:28

@Octoblockisadick yeah that was me this morning 😆

has anyone had a craving for smells?? Got to be my weirdest pregnancy symptom by far, but I crave the smell of my car as it still has the new car smell. Like the idea of just getting in it and sitting in it would make me so happy. 😂 I can’t be alone in this… please!!

CurryandSnuggle · 09/05/2022 10:44

@Vimto1991 YES! I loved the smell of warm rubber like car tyres, bike tyres, or rubber mats when I wad pregnant with DS, I used to go into Halfords just for the smell lol!!!

This time round I love getting in our car when it’s hot as it has a distinct smell that I like.

Vimto1991 · 09/05/2022 10:55

@CurryandSnuggle I am so glad it’s not just me!! Yeah I think it’s rubber as well as I like the smell in the porch where the shoes are kept, and you can smell the rubber off the shoes. 😂 such a weird craving to want to smell things. I don’t want to eat them, just sniff. 🤣

pregnancydiaries · 09/05/2022 11:24

@CurryandSnuggle eek, 3rd June is SO soon. I'm jealous. Our due date is 21st June but getting a section on either the 7th or 14th, will be decided at our 36 week growth scan - hoping for the earlier tbh!xxx

Vimto1991 · 09/05/2022 12:03

The car park for antenatal said full but I could see spaces, I think it was broke as it wasn’t let me in, a guy in the car behind me called the number and they let us into the car park. I parked up and went to say thank you but his partner was SCREAMING and I figured they had enough going on right now. 😅 then I got a little freaked out that that will be me in a few weeks.

CurryandSnuggle · 09/05/2022 12:15

@Vimto1991 lol our chat made me want to go and hoover the car out just so I have an excuse to breathe in the aromas without looking like a crazy person 😂😂😂😂 (SO WEIRD). But turn I remembered that I have completely lost my sense of smell with covid. I can’t even smell deodrant let alone the car smell 😂 so I’ve decided to park that idea for another day when I can reap the benefits LOL 😂

@pregnancydiaries oooh well that’s exciting, you’ll get a fixed date and it’s not too long to wait 😍

NorthDevonBeachLover · 09/05/2022 12:19

@CurryandSnuggle due date buddy! How are you feeling now with Covid?

@Vimto1991 i've had no cravings at all, slightly disappointed by this, was looking forward to wanting something unusual!

pregnancydiaries · 09/05/2022 12:21

@Vimto1991 that car park story made me laugh 😂😂😂 the maternity unit at our hospital has 4 parking spaces for patients!!! And the main hospital car park is at the bottom of 2 very steep hills 😅 very poorly organised. Good luck for whatever your appt is today xxx

pregnancydiaries · 09/05/2022 12:22

@Vimto1991 realised you just said antenatal and not the hospital but I've still had my moan 😂

Vimto1991 · 09/05/2022 12:24

@pregnancydiaries it’s at the hospital but a separate car park (anyone can park there, though), always struggled with spaces at this hospital. 😩 I’d be forever late to my thyroid appointments!

@CurryandSnuggle oh no!! Hope you get your smell back so you can smell your car 😆😆 honestly, my car is losing that fresh smell and I’m so sad.

I'm the same as you - due 22nd but induction or section around the 8th

pregnancydiaries · 09/05/2022 13:00

Eek! @unknownscot how you feeling about that? Personally im happy for him to come a little bit earlier...but now I've had diarrhoea all morning and convinced myself it's labour...not THIS early!!xx

Vimto1991 · 09/05/2022 13:41

Just had a trainee midwife try to locate the baby and pressed so hard down on my pelvis and stomach she made me wince. The teaching midwife said sorry but I raised it to another midwife who said well the CTG after was okay and baby is well cushioned so shouldn’t be any damage as long as I’m not in any pain now, and sometimes they have to press hard to find the baby. The teaching midwife didn’t need to. 😩 honestly I worry so much for this baby I could have tackled the training midwife to the floor as soon as I felt pain. I hate the idea of them squishing or hurting them.

im going to be so overprotective 😞

pregnancydiaries · 09/05/2022 14:09

Oh no @Vimto1991 you really are having a worrying time but as you say CTG was all good and thats the best reassurance we can get at the moment. It's never nice when they press hard but there is sooo much cushioning 💗

pregnancydiaries · 09/05/2022 14:10

Ladies - how do we go about picking a cot mattress?

I know little one won't be in his cot until at least 6 months but I'd like the nursery finished. It is a total mine field. Foam or spring? Firm or soft? I've no idea where to start 😂

Vimto1991 · 09/05/2022 14:13

@pregnancydiaries it’s not so much worrying anymore but they have me here twice a week for monitoring as I had increased movements more than once so I think it’s standard practice, I feel part of the furniture now, but baby has been doing well, just has no pattern at all. 🙈
yeah that’s one reassurance they are so padded, I am just so overprotective, to be fair, even DH is when MIL felt my belly yesterday and he said she felt it ‘too hard’ (she didn’t) 😂😂

Vimto1991 · 09/05/2022 14:14

@pregnancydiaries I’ve always read firm is best! It is a bit of a minefield, we still don’t have one for our cot but they won’t be in it like you say for another six months. I think as long as it’s breathable it’ll be a good shout.

unknownscot · 09/05/2022 14:18

@pregnancydiaries 😂 maybe hold off two or three weeks then sooner the better. I have been thinking about induction but if the pessaries don't work I want to go to section rather than the drip.

Octoblockisadick · 09/05/2022 14:40

@Vimto1991 there aren't specific maternity spaces at my hospital, you just need to take your chances with general patient parking (which is horrific). Antenatal is on the 3rd floor too 😅.
Tbh when you said she pressed really hard i thought you were going to say she made you wee yourself 🤣🤣🤣.

I'm currently sat in the bathroom at work with cramp type pains that are making it hard to get up haha. I'm relatively comfortable so don't want to move, it hurts a bit when I move!

Vimto1991 · 09/05/2022 14:44

@Octoblockisadick oh that sounds like a nightmare to park! Especially if you turn up in labour. 😞 you’d think they’d have more specific ones!

oooh the cramps don’t sound fun! Are you going to call your midwife? 😱

annie1994 · 09/05/2022 14:46

@beansprout55 I lost a bit of my mucus plug at like 20 weeks!! Apparently it just grows back - so grim isn’t it 😂 with my first labour I had my bloody show about a week before I gave birth (after I had a sweep) and it was just like a big blob of snot with a bit of old blood.
