@mrkb @Vimto1991 my pains seem to have stopped now, putting them down to dehydration and the bug.
I've managed to keep down a bottle of lucozade so hopefully start feeling better soon.

Also agreed with the metanium recommendations, it's amazing stuff.

Vimto1991 · 06/05/2022 10:20

@Octoblockisadick must be something going around. I was up at 3am this morning stuck to the toilet 😭 I feel exhausted this morning so you have my sympathy!! Glad you’re feeling a bit better now.

i thought taking ML early meant I’d have the whole house in check and be able to do all the things, but I just want to nap. 😂 so exhausted.

mrkb · 06/05/2022 10:22

Glad yours have gone away @Octoblockisadick

I know what you mean about being hard to tell @Vimto1991! Mine are still here - I've had moments where they felt like they were getting better but then come back with a pang. I rang the maternity assessment unit and they're not worried but have told me to come in anyway just in case so now on my way to the hospital! On the plus side it's a beautiful day and I'm getting a little bit of sunshine whilst waiting for the train!

Vimto1991 · 06/05/2022 10:24

@mrkb got my fingers crossed for you, that’s what I did yesterday, tried to make a day of it for myself as well :) mine has gone away with some orange fanta, I’m off to Tesco to get lucozade sport as well haha

mrkb · 06/05/2022 10:29

@Vimto1991 thank you! They're probably just going to tell me it's braxton hicks and I'm being dramatic haha and now I have a craving for orange fanta...!! 😅

MrsNT · 06/05/2022 12:44

How is everyone doing

Vimto1991 · 06/05/2022 12:58

@MrsNT currently lying on the sofa watching the lion king as baby kicks away. Feel like I have no energy when all I want to do is housework! Anxious about my baby shower tomorrow as I’ve been really keen to make sure I feel baby once an hour, so worry I’ll be in my head. 😞

how are you today?

MrsNT · 06/05/2022 13:01

@vimto1991 im ok. Chilling today as work not very busy. Fingers and ankles of my a tiny bit swollen so removed my rings from hands incase it gets stuck .

Vimto1991 · 06/05/2022 13:09

@MrsNT ooh yes I had to do this a month or so ago, it wasn’t incredibly tight but I was worried I’d forget to take them off in time! 😅 nice to hear work isn’t too bad for you at the moment!

MrsNT · 06/05/2022 13:11

Anyone here that tested positive for gbs (group B strep ) bacteria in urine. found out at my last appointment with gp so i will now have to get antibiotics via IV/drip during labour as a precautionary measure and extra observation during and after labour. I did get a course of antibiotic medicine aswell though

Im glad it got caught before labour though but wondering if anyone here has had a similar situation?

MrsNT · 06/05/2022 13:13

@vimto1991
Funny enough one of the rings I removed is my mums and it doesnt fit her anynore because she had to get the ring cut off her finger with a saw type thing!! as it got stuck when i was little.

So she then got it repaired but the size of ring became smaller and used to fit me.

Brightsmoke · 06/05/2022 13:27

Just had my scan and part way through seeing midwife and freaking out a bit. Baby is still estimated to be growing massive. His heart rate is accelerated. The placenta/umbilical cord efficiency has dropped significantly. She spoke to head MW, who is also concerned, so had now gone to speak to a doctor.

I'm positive news, his head is lower than 2 weeks ago, so he's getting ready to come out. I think they'll want to force him out early though.

NorthDevonBeachLover · 06/05/2022 13:48

@MrsNT @Vimto1991 I had to remove my rings a few weeks ago as didn't want them to get stuck. Am currently at work pretending to work, counting down the days to mat leave (last day next Thursday) Off for CTG and blood pressure monitoring again later today which will hopefully be okay. 36 weeks today and really feeling it now, am overthinking every movement that happens, guessing that's normal FTM anxiety! xx

MrsNT · 06/05/2022 13:50

@NorthDevonBeachLover hoping this is just swelling and not permanent size of my fingers

MrsNT · 06/05/2022 13:52

When do you ladies plan on setting up crib/cot/next to me cot/ in your rooms? Ive bought it but its stored away. Week 38 to Week 39?

InvisibleDragon · 06/05/2022 14:01

Glad I'm not the only one with the baby anxiety dreams! I guess it's a normal part of processing a major role change!

I've also removed my wedding ring - wearing it on a chain round my neck instead.

34 weeks today, with 4 more weeks of work, including a big deadline in 3 weeks ... Give me strength!

@Brightsmoke That sounds like a stressful appointment. Glad you and baby are being well looked after though!

Flowerbug1994 · 06/05/2022 14:19

@Brightsmoke Will be thinking of you this afternoon hope you get sorted. Just try and remember your in the right place xx

@Vimto1991 movement anxiety is real today ! I’ve been running around since 9 o’clock getting sorted for my baby shower so don’t feel like an feeling much I had a sit down at about half 11 and got about 15 movements in half an hour so that satisfied me. Going home now to chill for an hour see how he is after I eat and have a drink xxx

fpeg · 06/05/2022 14:20

@MrsNT last day today, so obviously people come to me today with new projects 🙄 it's taking everything I have not to tell them to just f**k off! (Especially when the email starts... "I know you're about to go on Mat leave but I have this project I think you'd be perfect for, due for completion in October... can you do it?" - ermmmmmm no!

Also have sent off for a test kit for GBS, not sure if it and the results will be with me in time given this one's apparent predilection for an early arrival!

After my scare last week we set up the crib, want it to be ready when she decides to make an appearance! Car seat also fitted now.

@Brightsmoke that's a stressful visit, hope you are ok, is your OH with you for support? At this stage baby will be ok if they do need to come out but I know we'd all like them to stay long enough to get to term ❤️

@NorthDevonBeachLover hope the scan and CTG goes well! I'm 36+3 today and literally every day just feels that bit harder now

Prema112 · 06/05/2022 14:21

@MrsNT We're aiming to get everything set up this weekend, IKEA order getting picked up tonight which will hopefully give us the storage we need and then need to see how everything fits. I'll be 36+4 so feels like about the right time. Also aiming to have bag packed by 37 weeks, still convinced baby is coming early

Just been to the lido, such a lovey swim but then got pretty bad stabbing pain at bottom of bump again and had to hobble out, people were quite concerned asking if I was ok. The pain went away with a warm shower. I do wonder what it is though, maybe a stitch for the bump?!

@Brightsmoke Hope the dr has good news!

Prema112 · 06/05/2022 14:22

@fpeg Happy last day!

Letsbekindplease · 06/05/2022 14:22

Our bedside cot is half built in the room just getting in the way because we’ve not organised a proper space to have other things to have crib by bed lol. We just wanted it built so big brother would get used to the wee changes around the house. Everything’s half built so looks absolutely terrible. Moses basket stored under our boot bench with all the covers off it etc. need to get my finger out

@MrsNT no haven’t had any issues. Did you ask about the GSB? I thought it was something you need to ask them as they won’t investigate if you have it or not? I’ll ask at my next midwife app. She did say I had slight protein in urine but that was it. No concern

Brightsmoke · 06/05/2022 14:56

@MrsNT I checked my NTM cot fitted where I want it last week and have partially packed it away. I'll dig it out when he arrives I think

Haha no he wasn't @fpeg. First one he's missed because I said it'll be nothing to be concerned about and his work is super busy

So it's not as bad as MW made me think it was initially. She spoke to doc who isn't concerned about placenta at all. They're advising against homebirth, but they have to in case he gets stuck. But basically he's just big for no reason so I'm still pushing for homebirth. I've got a consultant appointment next week, so in limbo until then really. Still haven't managed to do my birth preferences with the midwife because last app she wanted to get me booked in for checks first and this week obviously all this has come up 🙄 Still a concern about his HR but could just be accelerated due to him being awake and moving about.

MrsNT · 06/05/2022 14:57

@Letsbekindplease so when i went for my 31 week gp appointment ..she checked my urine ..how they do usually where they check for protein, nitrates etc. So anyways this time she found nitrates in my urine which is a sign of infection. And then sent off sample for further testing which then came back with GBS positive.
At my next appointment which was with midwife the urine tested negative for nitrates as I had started antibiotics. But since ive tested positive once ill be on antibiotics iv at labour time

JAR1981 · 06/05/2022 15:36

Oh no @CurryandSnuggle not you too! I feel shocking. Progressed from chills and very achey joints on weds to now having breathing difficulties. Went for a 15 minute waddle down the road last night after dinner (I live very rural so no risk of spreading) and got really faint and dizzy with a tight chest after about less than 10 mins. Husband was with me luckily and managed to get back to the house to fetch the car. It was very scary though. So today I’ve taken it super easy and moved no further than the sofa. Still short of breath though especially when I eat. And this baby has decided today is the day for non stop pokes in the ribs which doesn’t make it easier! Although feeling reassured they are moving well. Hope you get off more lightly than me.

Also my pulse has dropped massively - down to 50-something beats a minute. The midwife said it’s unlikely to be COVID related. Anyone else had this?

JAR1981 · 06/05/2022 15:42

@Brightsmoke sorry to hear about your scan stress. How big is baby now? They brought me in to have my scan yesterday despite COVID after clinic hours which I was v grateful for. Baby estimated 6lb 13 at 35+5. So consultant pressuring me to make a decision between ELCS and induction at 39 weeks. Doesn’t look like I’m going to get my wishes for a spontaneous labour after all. Anyone planned CS ladies - any good resources you found to read up on it? I pushed back and asked for another appointment at 38 weeks to make the final decision.

@MrsNT we set up our snuzpod at 34 weeks, husband was excited to build it! Will be doing car seat and hospital bag and pram this weekend if I’m well enough. We are all so close now!!

@Clomid1 hope your scan went ok?
