@Vimto1991 I have found myself calling it to DH many times telling him I've "turtled" myself and can't get up - from bed or bath. Yet to do it outside but I don't get out much 🤣 Glad you're ok though.

destiEos · 05/05/2022 19:48

@JAR1981 oh no 😢 sorry to hear, but thank God it's further down the line covid-wise and hopefully scan will go smoothly 🤞🏻 Feel better soon 💕

Roxystar23 · 05/05/2022 19:53

I’m still catching up on the last few days on this thread (I’ve missed loads!) but I just wanted to say Congrats @PeeAche2 - this is fantastic news! So pleased for you!!!

I will continue reading now - baby has just started 4th hiccup session of the day. Poor thing!

destiEos · 05/05/2022 19:54

@Clomid1 good luck for tomorrow - try and get as much reassurance from the sonographer as possible, I was scared and quiet and regret not asking more questions. It might have become clearer that it was most likely just small and not actually necessarily worrying. The fact that you're not going to foetal until next week may also be a positive sign, they sent me straight there. Try not to get too anxious, easier said than done, I know - but cry if you need to and don't invest your thoughts in negativity. The likelihood is everything is fine 🌷 Let us know how you get on, I'll be thinking of you 🤞🏻🍀💕

destiEos · 05/05/2022 19:57

@Octoblockisadick I haven't had them but that sounds like Braxton Hicks from what I've read. Speedy to hear about the vomiting, I'm just nauseous again, the cat got the ham from my sandwich today - cheese on toast was as far as I could get 😕

mrkb · 05/05/2022 20:06

@Octoblockisadick came here to ask the same thing! I've been having period-pain type cramps in the evening the last few days and again just now. I didn't think Braxton Hicks were meant to be painful!!

Katiebaby13 · 05/05/2022 21:21

Has anyone had any swelling? I've just started to notice I am but just one ankle randomly!

I am the same, although both feet/ankles are a bit swollen the right is definitely worse than the left 😂🤦🏽‍♀️

@destiEos I have a number of maternity/breastfeeding jersey nighties from Seraphine. Very soft and I wore them long long post pregnancy last time - the whole of almost two years until I was pregnant again in fact!!

Prema112 · 05/05/2022 21:48

@Octoblockisadick & @mrkb I think the main difference between BH and true labour is labour progresses; contractions get closer together and stronger where as BH they come and go. BH can be painful as well I believe but the pain doesn't get worse. My labour was like super intense period pains that got stronger and longer over a few hours

@Clomid1 Thinking of you and praying your scan is so reassuring x

EarlGreywithLemon · 05/05/2022 21:49

Our two year old came back from nursery with the start of nappy rash today, and that’s reminded me: Metanium in the yellow tube is a life saver to have at home (don’t think needed for the hospital bag). It nips it in the bud. Sorry if I’m stating the obvious, but a friend told me when I was pregnant and it was very helpful to have some in.

Babyno21990 · 05/05/2022 22:25

@Prema112 oh we have the same date!!! Well today I've lost a considerable amount after 3 visits to the toilet. Getting lots of lightening crotch today 🙈 my 1st was a week late so never felt any of this until week 39! What will be will be I suppose lol

@Letsbekindplease yes I phoned my midwife who said completely normal which was reassuring and just keep an eye etc. Also with your last was your mucus plug bloody? With dd1 I lost my mucus plug at 39 weeks and then at 40 weeks I had a bloody show but I know some people treat them as the same.

Letsbekindplease · 05/05/2022 22:44

@Babyno21990 I thought they were the same thing lol I am a bit clueless with these things. That’s good to know it’s normal though.

@EarlGreywithLemon I swear by it. My son never, ever had nappy rash. We used the cream you spoke of and we never had any rash. It’s a bugger at staining clothes though haha

CurryandSnuggle · 05/05/2022 23:25

@PeeAche2 Amazing news!!!

@Prema112 woohoo, you’ve finished work! It’s getting so real now!! It’s my last day tomorrow too!! 🎉

@MrsTwentyNine ooh yeah it probably is the baby’s knee in that case.

ooh on that note - I had my midwife appointment today (asked if I should go in and she said she’d still see me as I’m triple vaxxed and testing negative) - baby is head down and 3/5 engaged! Trying not to freak out that I’ve checked my notes and my bump is measuring the same as 2 weeks ago, however google tells me this is quite common when the head engages as there’s less upwards growth. Will see what happens at next one in 2 weeks.

Had birth plan call with VBAC consultant recently too - having a sweep at 40 weeks, if labour doesn’t start by 41 weeks then I’ll have artificial rupture of membranes (I’ve refused any further medical induction though so no pessaries or drip), and if this doesn’t work then I will have a c-section shortly after 41 weeks.

@Babyno21990 ooh very exciting, good luck! When my mucous plug came away in my first pregnancy I went into labour a couple of hours later!

@Katiebaby13 @destiEos @JAR1981 @Prema112 thank you for support re: covid. Desti, sorry to read that you are having a hard time! Hope things improve for you very soon ❤️ JAR, sorry to read that you have now got covid. Wishing you a speedy recovery.

Katiebaby13 · 05/05/2022 23:26

@PlodandPod it's so weird seeing all these changes happen isn't it. I'm wondering if I'm going to slowly start swelling everywhere now.

@EarlGreywithLemon I hadn't heard of metanoim, I will get some. Do you only use it when they have a rash? First time mum to be and Clueless.

CurryandSnuggle · 05/05/2022 23:29

Further to my previous concern about growth not changing since last appointment. I reckon it’s more likely that the previous midwife got the measurement wrong based on growth chart!

CurryandSnuggle · 05/05/2022 23:29

@EarlGreywithLemon ooh good shout, I swear by metanium too 🙂

Brightsmoke · 06/05/2022 06:28

@Rolledthedice I'm ready to argue my case. Luckily my MW is amazing and super HB supportive. Consultant app is online, so I'll just hang up if they aren't listening 🤣

@Octoblockisadick sounds like you're the same as me, baby will come when he comes, however large he is. Not having intervention because of a large baby

@PeeAche2 that's amazing news, so pleased for you!

@Clomid1 I have the same car seat and fits on bugaboo too 😊

Yay for Mat leave starting @Prema112. My sons birthday party is next weekend, let me know how you cope with it! I've got my mum and sister coming to assist with it. Whole class party seemed like such a good idea at the time...

Sorry to hear you've got it @JAR1981. I had it about week 28, just take it easy if you can

Finally got my letter confirming no GD 🙌🏻. Scan to check size/growth again today

Prema112 · 06/05/2022 06:37

@Brightsmoke We don't have anyone coming to help which could be a mistake but they are going trampolining then for cake in the park so not much for me to do except watch... hopefully will all go smoothly! DH picking up Costco cake this eve!

mrkb · 06/05/2022 07:12

Thanks @Prema112 ! I've had period like cramps since about 5am radiating down my legs 😩 baby moving though and feel fine apart from that so heading into work, mostly because I accidentally left my laptop there last night and need it haha. If anything changes I'm going to phone midwife though just because I'm so uncomfortable! Third trimester is the gift that keeps giving...

CurryandSnuggle · 06/05/2022 07:13

It’s official, I’ve got covid now too 😫

Prema112 · 06/05/2022 07:35

@CurryandSnuggle &@JAR1981 so sorry you've both got Covid!! Hoping it's mild for you both xx

EarlGreywithLemon · 06/05/2022 08:02

@Katiebaby13 yes, the one in the yellow tube is a nappy rash cream. If you have it around and put a little bit on at the first sign of redness or irritation, it stops it in its tracks. Best £2.50 I’ve spent! They do an every day one in a white tube, but we haven’t tried that one, we just use Sudocrem.

annie1994 · 06/05/2022 08:33

@Prema112 @Vimto1991 @EarlGreywithLemon oh that’s good then! I have no idea how he’ll fit like that at full term so hopefully changes 😂

But like @EarlGreywithLemon I’m pretty set on an ELCS so shouldn’t matter too much his position. Obstetrician and MW said I’d be allowed one due to my first birth so hopefully next Obstetrician appointment I’ll have made up my mind and maybe have a date!!

Vimto1991 · 06/05/2022 08:38

@mrkb im having period pains, too, although at the same time I do also have a bad stomach and can’t tell if it’s the same pain. 😩

@CurryandSnuggle oh no!! But atleast you have it now out the way for labour. That’s my biggest worry!! If it’s like my trust they won’t even ask for an lft when you go into labour if you had covid in the last 12 weeks. Part of me was tempted to go maskless to see if I could get it beforehand. 🙈
