@Vimto1991 thanks, yes - really pleased measurements now seem to be normal, there was a lot of fear for no reason :/ I feel you on the monitoring - it’s so damn hard trying to see if there’s a pattern! I’m sure there isn’t one, and get nervous if it’s been more than a couple of hours without anything and then as soon as I get worries - he starts moving about…sighs… Oh dear, it sounds like you’ve had no fun - I’m terrified of falling over and would absolutely sacrifice knees if I went over, cannot imagine bumping the bump :(
@sunflower198 I don’t really want the metformin either, but insulin makes me very uncomfortable. I know I’m being stubborn, but I just don’t think that occasionally going slightly over is that concerning. Fundamentally I feel rubbish enough already and I really don’t want to take any more meds.
@JAR1981 Obaby have actually offered to collect the drawer - so that’s £60 we’re not losing out on, very good of them! We still have to tidy the rest of the room and apply nursery stickers, looking forward to how lovely it’ll look when finished though!!
@Prema112 Thanks, so relieved - I had to take a few days off to recover and this thread moves so fast, hard to keep track, hope you’re doing well though.
@Letsbekindplease Yes, anusol cream and pessaries are both ok for pregnant women - my trust gave me a list of things that are ok and those are both on there. They do help, but even with fybrogel I’m finding that piles are ‘under control’ rather than going away. I’m guessing once I stop taking the iron supplements things will go back to normal, so basically after giving birth…it is rubbish, isn’t it.
@mrkb I’ve not had any questions about ELCS, they seem very keen for me to do that, so I’ve not had to persuade anyone :D Hope your conversation went well - remember it is fundamentally your choice. Just caught up to the last couple of days and seen this went really well - very glad to hear it! Also, I’m a bit gutted we’ll be having a May baby, but also very pleased he’s coming earlier!!
@Octoblockisadick ockisadick I KNOW - can’t believe how inaccurate the 5th centile must have been to be measuring 50th 2 weeks later :/
@JAR1981 and @beansprout55 sprout55 - be careful!! My God, electric shocks when pregnant must be terrifying! I’m sure if you both came out of it ok, then bubs did too, but crikey!
@Clomid1 - seriously, I can’t overstate how worried we both were - also referred to foetal medicine and have now been moved back downstairs for scans are everything is fine. I think the measurements can be inaccurate, and also that some babies are just small (or big). Anyway, try not to let them scare the shit out of you, as there is literally nothing you can do to increase or decrease size anyway..
@JAR1981 I still need to do my bag, I have everything I think, but need to put it all in a second bag. The baby has all his stuff ready to go - I figured that needs to be ready, I’ll be fine with a hospital gown if needs be, then DH can bring all the other bits in an emergency. Still, probably should get it sorted now. And car seat…might wait til the baby is even born - there’s no need for it to be in earlier, is there?
@Prema112 I ordered this one: www.mamasandpapas.com/collections/nursing-feeding-chairs/products/bowdon-nursing-chair-footstool-silver-sebwoa102 it’s straight backed and narrow seat - the other one mamas and papas do is much ‘comfier’ but DH pointed out that this one is much more supportive, which is going to be more useful as @EarlGreywithLemon pointed out. I do have to wait 13 weeks though, so won’t be delivered til end of June..
@Rolledthedice Happy birthday! Hope you had a lovely day :D
@RoseValleyRambles I find it really patronising when midwife suggests ‘trying’ vaginal birth or breastfeeding, it’s just so patronising.. I mean I’m going to try with breastfeeding, but I am so not going to continue if there’s some of the devastation I’ve heard about nipple-wise!
@Flowerbug1994 as you can probably tell by the essay above, I am more than struggling with work - think I may have to pull maternity leave forward a week, I cannot concentrate and seriously finding it very hard to care too. I only have tomorrow and next week and I’m dragging myself through… Glad to hear scans show everything’s ok - seems like the best idea is to just head in if you’re worried, they are very supportive I’ve found.
@AlbatrossSociety - boy here, we both wanted a girl initially, but I’ve come round. A boy is just fine :)
@pregnancydiaries yup, nausea has also returned - my favourite part is the reflux that tastes of dank lake-water or something disgusting I’ve started the cyclizine again but I think I may have to increase from 1 a day already. I also have GD, so can’t eat some bread or a cracker which helped a lot last time. Pregnancy is poo.
@CurryandSnuggle I feel your pain, everything seems to be getting worse for me too, as well as all the above,
having baby’s foot in my rib-cage permanently now - had to take a couple of paracetamol this morning at 2am, as my right lower-ribs and shoulder were just aching (of course, if you Google that, it’s pre-eclampsia :’() - I’m sure it’s his wee foot, as I can feel it digging into me, but I am thinking of calling to confirm, just don’t want to have to go to hospital again…
@NorthDevonBeachLover sounds like you’ve had a bit of nightmare, glad that you’re ok, even if elevated risk. Hope you’re taking it very easy and looking forward to mat leave!
@imhereforthecake - I think 28-32 weeks is when you do develop GD, I was tested at 28 weeks.
@PeeAche2 Oh how exciting! Congrats :D You must be so pleased!
