I know this is very early but I wanted to start a thread for those with a January 2023 due date.

I got my BFP 2 days ago and am about 4 weeks pregnant today. I already have a little boy born in November 2020 and I’m super excited for him to get a sibling but I know it’s early days and have had 2 early miscarriages in the past so slightly nervous too!

@PurpleSpottedLeopard I know exactly what you mean. I have a history of missed miscarriage and it does make it very difficult to relax and trust that all is well. But as a lot of others have said in various comments on this thread: there is nothing we can do. Eat well, try to get enough sleep, exercise gently and often. Beyond that we just have to hope for the best xx

Amarie01 · 15/05/2022 09:32

Congratulations to everyone on your BFP! 🎊🌹 Hope you don’t mind me joining this thread. My husband and I were ttc for 15 months and then took a month off and it happened 🙈 We are still in shock and over the moon! Also nervous about something going wrong but trying to keep distracted!
Day 1 of my cycle was 2 April so due date would be around the 7th January (I am 6 weeks). I have first scan booked for 7.5 weeks (26 May). Feels like a lifetime away 🙈
How is everyone feeling? Symptoms so far for me are tender boobs, fatigue and mild cramping every other day, oh and bloating!! I am delighted to find this group with you ladies around the same stage as me 😊

LemonZestDribbles · 15/05/2022 10:21

@fancyfrogs congratulations!! My edd is then too. Very exciting!!! My ds is September 2020 - going to be interesting with two 😅🤣

@PurpleSpottedLeopard eopard it's really really hard. You've just got to hope for the best and look after yourself. I agree telling something close and possibly an early scan (I'd aim for 8ish weeks as most likely show heartbeat etc). It gets a bit easier when you can feel movements x

@Badhairday101congratulations!!!

@Amarie01 congratulations!! Must have felt like am absolute lifetime. Crazy how these things happen

brogan12 · 15/05/2022 10:30

@LemonZestDribbles ahh my ds is September 2020 too!

NV42 · 15/05/2022 12:11

Dear all

I had 5 pregnancy tests when I was 4 weeks and all were positive.
Today I thought of using a remaining pregnancy test I had and it showed negative. I am 6 weeks pregnant. I am so worried that I may have miscarriaged. Did anyone ever have a similar experience but ended up still being pregnant?

I am having my early pregnancy scan on Tuesday.

I hope everything is still ok...

mrsgtobe97 · 15/05/2022 12:30

5w6d today and apart from the odd nauseas feeling in the morning I do not feel pregnant at all, freaking me out but google says it's normal 😅

Maybe it's the hook effect and your HCG is so high? Have you tried watering down your urine and doing another one? Hopefully your scan gives you reassurance 🤞🏼

Moosh18 · 15/05/2022 12:47

@NV42 yes try watering down, mine had been lighter this week then last, until I added a lot of water! It's called the hook effect as @mrsgtobe97 has said xx

Cat2hop · 15/05/2022 13:41

@NV42 - I suspect all is OK if you haven't noticed anything other than the weird urine test and sending you good thoughts. The ultrasound is the best test to find out what's going on. But false negative tests after 5/6 weeks are a known phenomenon.

There are a few reasons why a urine test may be falsely negative and this is the science behind why it may be negative at 5+ weeks

www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/the-hook-effect#prevention

But, basically

  • urine pregnancy tests are good screening tests but don't really make sense to keep testing: a blood test and USS are the tests that confirm pregnancy because they are specific - ie, give an actual bHCG level rather than bHCG subject to the difference in how concentrated urine is (how hydrated you may be, how long you held the urine, if you use sequential urines to test with (gets diluted if you pee all within an hour or so). Ultrasound is the best test after 6+ weeks when you can see the developing embryo.
  • blood HCG levels vary a huge amount between people and a single HCG doesn't tell you much, it's the trend (up or down) that counts. The line on a urine test is a yes or no, you can't really conclude if blood HCG levels are increasing/decreasing based on that
This article has a table showing how much the low end and high end of the normal range of bHCG is week by week - massive differences!

americanpregnancy.org/getting-pregnant/hcg-levels/

  • after a miscarriage bHCG does decrease but it's not immediate so you might test positive for days/weeks after (the further along the pregnancy the longer the bHCG takes to drop back to zero).

Hello everyone! My periods aren't too regular but my app is saying I am 5+3 and due Jan 13th 🥰
This is my first pregnancy and potentially being sent for an early scan due to some pains and bleeding. Here are my tests ☺️

Due January 2023 ❤️
Amber17 · 15/05/2022 15:41

Hope everything’s ok @NV42

Ended up in A&E today with bad cramps. HCG is 175 which I thought was fine for 4 weeks (I’m somewhere between 3+5 and 4+2 whether you go off LMP or ov date) but they’ve said it’s low? No plans to recheck it and way too early to scan. Cramps have settled but I’m now really worried by the comment that it’s a low hcg.

@sophxx1 same due date as me 😁if everything goes ok with me

BritneyW · 15/05/2022 16:23

Congratulations :) First person I’ve seen on here this early, found out I am 2–3 weeks pregnant 4 days ago 😆 this will be my first. Any advice for new mummy’s will be great x

plantflowersforbees · 15/05/2022 16:34

@Amarie01 Congratulations! We're almost due date twins, my first day of last period was 1st April so my due date is Jan 6th! My symptoms today are exactly the same as yours, my boobs are so tender and I have some twinges of pain across my lower abdomen if I move suddenly too.

My first appointment isn't until the 6th June and my first scan is on the 22nd June, it feels like forever away! Let me know how your scan goes, I'll be thinking of you :)

sophxx1 · 15/05/2022 17:34

@JenniferR2021 how exciting. Fingers crossed for us both x

sparklyhippo · 15/05/2022 18:14

Hi everyone, would love to (anxiously!) join this thread! Got my first ever BFP on Friday at 9DPO, EDD is 27th Jan according to NHS site but my cycles have been a bit irregular over the past year or so, so that could change slightly. Currently going between being incredibly excited to incredibly anxious that everything will be ok!

JenniferR2021 · 15/05/2022 19:19

I've had 2 miscarriages so mega anxious this time x

281717O · 15/05/2022 19:33

It’s so hard to not be anxious about every little thing. I know I didn’t ovulate until cycle day 24, apps are saying in 5w5d but I know I’m probably only 5 weeks (however nhs will follow there rules for scans etc)
I took a clear blue today (annoyed with myself) it said 2-3 weeks, was really hoping for 3+!

symptom wise I have the odd 10 minutes where I feel abit ‘meh’ a few aches in my boobs but nothing really. I’ve never suffered with pregnancy symptoms so this doesn’t worry me (too much)

ive read a few people have had spotting, with my first boy I had bleeding at 7w4d bright red then again at 25 weeks, it was that bad I could ring the blood from my socks!
my second little boy (the one I lost at 22 weeks) I had bright red bleeding again at 7w4d nothing related to the loss, doctor just said it’s normal! So id try not to worry too much. My miscarriage last month started with spotting, within 30 mins it was heavy and bright red with moderate stomach cramps.

SweetPeaPods · 16/05/2022 05:48

Congrats to the new joiners. Sorry to hear of all the anxiousness.

LemonZestDribbles · 16/05/2022 07:07

@brogan12 matching ds! Absolutely crazy age isn't it? My ds has learned he can spin and keeps doing it until he falls over laughing 😅🙈

@mrsgtobe97 6 weeks was when the sickness really kicked in for me. Hoping it's not as bad this time 🤞

@sophxx1 welcome and congratulations!!!

@Amber17 that's awful to say low but not offer a retest. Can you contact your gp? Hope you're okay ❤ it should be fine as you're still early days?

@BritneyW congratulations!

@sparklyhippo welcome and congrats! I'm sure the hormones don't help the anxious to the excitement shifts either. No wonder we're all so tired

@JenniferR2021 sorry about your previous mcs ❤

@NV42 how are you feeling? Did you try diluting?

I was in my bed at 8pm (planning to watch some netflix) but fell straight asleep 😅 absolutely knackered atm

brogan12 · 16/05/2022 07:09

@LemonZestDribbles mine also finds spinning hilarious 😂 he looks out of the corner of his eyes whilst he is doing it, never seen anything so funny 😂😂 they are definitely at a keep you on your toes age!

IE00 · 16/05/2022 10:17

Hello, can I join? I'm only 4w+3 but I am staying positive. I've already got a DD who is 17 months from IVF, hoping for a sibling. I've had two further rounds of IVF with the second getting a BFP.

Nice to meet you all. I share all your anxieties and hoping this thread will make it all seem more real. I've decided to not do any further testing (as of yet) because I feel it will just add to my worries. Hope I made the right decision!

With DD I had brown spotting / bleeding throughout the 1st trimester from the pessaries (I think), turned bright red at 8 weeks. 111 said that this was a fake period, apparently that is quite common as your body tries to menstruate but then stops as it "remembers" you are pregnant.

I'm looking forward to having more pregnancy symptoms as I think that would reassure me. My scan isn't for another three weeks!

Fifi1994 · 16/05/2022 10:28

Hello 👋🏽 New to NetMums, so I hope you don’t mind me joining in.

I was wondering if someone could help as I am a first time Mum and a tiny bit confused about whereabouts I am in my pregnancy.

LMP was 21st March (very accurately tracked all of my cycles using Flo) and also recall this date as my last two cycles prior to falling pregnant were stupidly irregular. (40 day cycle in Feb and then 26 in March) got a positive test on 25th April. Went for a private scan yesterday and was convinced I was 7 weeks + 2 days but they’ve put me back to 6 weeks and 3 days and due date is the 5th Jan 2023. They did say that this is an estimate and to wait until my NHS scan. Would this date then be determined by me ovulating late or the date of conception? I am also convinced I had some implantation bleeding around the 15-17th April.

To cut a long story short, I am a bit confused with the calculation as I thought GA was from the LMP - which would put me further than I was told I am. Any insight or input would be appreciated

Sincerely,

A very lost, first time expecting mother 🙈

brogan12 · 16/05/2022 10:33

@IE00 congratulations!! The days seem to be going so slow arnt they! I also have a scan booked for the 5th June, so another 3 weeks away too which seems like forever away! Xx

@Fifi1994 congratulations to you! Try not to worry about the date they gave you at an early scan! I had an early scan with my baby back in 2020 and I thought I was 8 weeks but the scan showed me at 7 weeks exactly and they gave me a due date of 4th october! My 12 week scan they changed it too the 30th September and my baby infact came on the 1st of September! So the first scan was completely out! Sorry for rambling haha point is try not to worry too much! Xx
