@Sdoubleyou yes definitely worth trying! I will probably do it again anyway, especially if my tummy gets itchy again because of the stretching. You might be absolutely fine and not have any anyway.

I have a few pairs of maternity jeans/ leggins which I'm already wearing as they're so much more comfortable and I already have a small bump at 12 weeks, then just loose tops. I managed to get some maternity/ nursing tops on vinted for really cheap 👍

@Kaybubs this is my profile. If you add me I can add you to the group. That goes for anyone else that would like to join! It’s completely private so nobody can see you’ve joined it except the others in the group x

Mememe17 · 23/05/2022 10:23

@Kaybubs Where in the world are you? I'm in Asia and the heat plus mask wearing is just the pits for nausea. Keeping full of carbs is the only think I can do at the moment. Bleurgh

Mememe17 · 23/05/2022 10:24

@Jj19 I've sent you a message on FB. Been praying for a FB group so I don't have to use my VPN to access mumsnet as it's blocked here.

Clearly mumsnet so dodgy! Haha

Mememe17 · 23/05/2022 10:26

@hopefulsunshine11 I think progesterone slows the whole poo system down. I keep thinking I can see a baby bump....er no.... I just need the loo. Romantic.

Mememe17 · 23/05/2022 10:26

@Phoenixwings1989 How's things today, did you get to go to EPU? Xx

Thereistwo · 23/05/2022 10:50

Hi all, I’m 8 weeks! I’ve paid for a scan and I’m having TWINS! What do I do now?? I’ve still not heard anything from my gp or midwife? I’m now really scared and excited, it’s my first pregnancy soo does anyone have advice? Thanks ☺️

GabsK92 · 23/05/2022 10:55

@Amphibian94 yes I’ve had two UTIs in three weeks. Definitely go get them checked out as infections are not good when pregnant. I had to take antibiotics for them and all cleared up now. They’re very common in pregnancy apparently x

GabsK92 · 23/05/2022 10:57

Anyone know what they’re having yet? I just had my enhanced blood test results back and found out I’m having a GIRL! So excited 🌸💞
Hope everyone’s scans go well these next couple of weeks! xx

PinkFizz1 · 23/05/2022 11:46

Hey all,

Not much to report for me. Im 11+5 today and not had the worst headaches for the past week or so. Sore boobs are still there & waves of nausea. Got my officially NHS scan next week which is when we’ll be announcing so fingers crossed everything goes well. I’m already having anxiety about the DS etc tests 🙄 I’m such an anxious person I really wish I wasn’t!

how is everyone else doing? @GabsK92 amazing! Is this your first baby?

Laughingmole · 23/05/2022 12:51

I had my 12 week scan today. All is good, such a wiggly baby and so cute seeing him touching his face 😍

Mommabear20 · 23/05/2022 12:52

Just checking in! I'm 11+2 today, nausea now comes in waves which is better than the 24/7 nausea I did have! Got my scan next Monday so getting excited about that! DH still isn't happy about the situation and is making it known at every possible point throughout the day (and night when DS wakes up!) regardless of him and his negativity, I'm very excited to have another little baby! Can't believe I'm over 1/4 of the way there!

@Laughingmole how lovely! I can’t wait for my scan!! Sooo excited.

@GabsK92 ahh wonderful! Are you thinking of any names yet?

@Thereistwo wow congratulations! You need to have your booking appointment soon - have you told your GP you’re pregnant? They’ll advise how t go about making the booking appointment - it might be an online appointment request form, or you might get a call from the midwife. In the end, they forgot about me, so I called the midwife unit and told them I still hadn’t had my booking appointment, and they booked me in.

LolaJ87 · 23/05/2022 14:46

I had my booking visit / 12 week scan this morning. I think I was unprepared for the length of the appointment, it has left me very tired! Delighted to say everything is looking good though. So exciting girls, we are starting to make it out of the first trimester one at a time...

@GabsK92 so exciting! Congrats on your daughter 💗I've had an NIPT done and should know next week hopefully.

@Laughingmole glad your visit went well too! It's such a relief isn't it?

@Mommabear20 your husband sounds like he's making this really hard for you.... that's very sad and I hope you're ok.

Wanderlust16 · 23/05/2022 15:00

Sorry DH isn’t being too supportive @Mommabear20 ! I’ve got my NHS scan next Monday too. I hope it goes really well for both of us :)

stuntbubbles · 23/05/2022 15:46

@Thereistwo Exciting! Have you referred yourself to your GP/midwives/local trust? Everywhere does it differently but usually you contact them, then they’ll book you in for the first appointment and the 12-week scan. Nothing much happens until those two things, and even after that there’s a big gap to the next appointment.

Hope everyone’s doing well, I’ve had a weekend of ENERGY and NO NAUSEA and have naturally got myself into a massive anxiety spiral about not feeling pregnant – even though according to DP I am now starting to show, at eight weeks! So of course this morning the vomming and exhaustion returned with a vengeance, just as I’d made plans for a swim and to tackle mountains of life admin and laundry. Instead I have had two naps and eaten some crumble. Reassuring myself that last time around, in the “nesting” bit of the third trimester I had the energy of 10 women and achieved years’ worth of stuff because I’m barely up to plucking my eyebrows right now.

Phoenixwings1989 · 23/05/2022 16:04

@Mememe17 I have just got off the phone to my EPU and explained I'd had spotting that started on Saturday and has now settled into dark brown. The lady advised that I monitor it, take another pregnancy test and if it is positive then I'm to ring her back and she'll arrange an early scan. But she said the earliest I can rest is Saturday morning. Does this seem right?

Laughingmole · 23/05/2022 17:10

My scan picture wouldn’t attach earlier but here is my bouncing bean! I’m now due 4th December.

@LolaJ87 glad yours went well too! Good luck to everyone else having their scans soon!

For those of you a few weeks behind, you will be delighted to hear that there is light at the end of the nausea tunnel! The last week I have felt so much better and I can eat most foods again now (in small portions!!) x

LolaJ87 · 23/05/2022 17:28

@Laughingmole congratulations! What a great scan. Any suspicions on the gender? Are you planning on finding out?

My scan today wasn't actually as clear as the one I had Thursday... so maybe it was a good thing I had needed that one!

buzz91 · 23/05/2022 22:19

Impatiently waiting on getting my scan appointment through so I have something to look forward to, 9+6 today.

Walking round town Saturday left me with such bad hip and lower back pain that I was struggling to get up the stairs and couldn’t stand on one leg in order to get my comfy trousers back on when I got home - don’t remember all this pain this early last time!

Had my booking appointment last week and midwife said because I was preterm last time, just (36+6) I would likely be invited to an appointment with the consultant at some point with a possible transvaginal scan to determine if the length of my cervix was the cause - anyone had one of these appointments and have any further info?

GabsK92 · 24/05/2022 02:44

@Kaybubs @Mememe17 I’m in South East Asia and I feel your pain! I am limiting outdoors to early morning and evenings because it’s just unbearable otherwise.

@PinkFizz1 yes first baby! How are you getting on? Got my fingers and toes crossed for your scan! x

@LolaJ87 so exciting! Let me know how it goes :) yes we’ve got a few names we love. We’re from different countries so trying to find names that work in both cultures which is always fun.

Tofu35 · 24/05/2022 09:01

This time next week will be my scan! I am celebrating this countdown with a lot of morning time retching. Nothing says "I'm ready for the day" like that feeling and noise 😂

tasha4eva10 · 24/05/2022 09:04

Gosh I know what you mean I'm finding if I'm not eating something small the sickness comes thick and fast! To the point I have had to make a snack drawer next to my bed and eat before I even get out of bed each morning 🙈 this mornings snack was birthday cake 😂.

I have my first official NHS scan on Friday when I will be 9+2 and it can't come quick enough, I paid for a private one at 7 weeks so it's going to be nice seeing how the baby has grown so far

RSmamaa · 24/05/2022 09:06

@buzz91 that exact pain in the hip/back/thigh started for me the weekend too!! Deffo didn't get this early last time. I'm going to ask for some exercises when I next see the midwife. Not looking forward to PGP again 😢

On another note I'm 10 weeks today yaaaay finally hit double figures and baby looks like a tiny baby! I have my scan in 13 days I can not wait!
