@Nutella99 any bump I have now is a combination of constipation, trapped wind and crisps 😂 I've tried to avoid all jeans, because of the bloat. Just been living in dresses!

Graceybaby · 20/05/2022 12:14

@AG96 I'd say that's more of a boy skull shape, looks similar to my boys scans xxx

Sdoubleyou · 20/05/2022 13:43

Those are lovely scans ladies! As for anxiety, I think it's normal. I'm feeling better as well at 10+3. When I had my MMC I had all the symptoms. Just trying to take it one day at a time and breath through the anxiety.

Question for everyone, are you moisturizing already to prevent stretch marks, and what are you using of so?

Rose2022 · 20/05/2022 17:10

Has anyone been and collected their bounty pack? I know I shouldn’t complain about something that’s free but it was just a pack of nappies and a leaflet! I was expecting some free samples and vouchers as that’s what it said on the bounty website! Disappointed x

Amphibian94 · 20/05/2022 19:32

How is everyone getting on? I have my 12 week scan Monday, v nervous! My nausea has stopped too which I am grateful for but it's also making me nervous somethings gone wrong! I hope I can start to relax after Monday.

Also, anyone had a UTI this early on? I have a very mild burning sensation down there... not sure if I should be worried or not? Not sure if it's even a UTI? Will I be OK leaving it till Monday when I see my midwife?

KittyKat1989 · 20/05/2022 19:56

Hi everybody. I am 11+5 and have my scan next Wednesday. I’ve had some horrible cramps over the last two days, but no blood. The cramps tend to be to one side which I don’t think is a good sign. Does anybody have any experience of this please? I’m really worried. X

Myotherusernameisaferrari · 20/05/2022 20:26

So I'm 8 weeks tomorrow and have tested positive for covid! Feeling pretty rough. One saving grace is I felt horrendously nauseous at the beginning of the week but thankfully when I started getting covid symptoms, the nausea abated.

Amphibian94 · 20/05/2022 21:08

@KittyKay1989 cramps are really common as everything is stretching. I still get cramps as if I am going to come on and everything so far has been fine. As long as its not terrible pain or bleeding I wouldn't worry. If it gets worse contact your epu x

lovesT · 20/05/2022 21:33

Hello everyone, I've just sent ages catching up as we've been away exploring the Highlands for the best part of the week 😄. I've seen a few posts about symptoms, mine have really calmed down the last couple of weeks and I'd say in week 9 I started to feel less nauseous and generally better. Will be 12 weeks on Sunday and feel much better, still off some food and sore boobs but even that in the last few days has been calming down which I do remember with my first, sore boobs stopped around 12 weeks ish. I have had stretching pains the last couple of days, they had calmed down a bit too but have definitely had some today. Seeing lots of posts it looks very normal for symptoms to calm down around 9 weeks but of course it's different for everyone!

My scan is on Friday so a week today, I'm a bit nervous but will just wait and see and hope all looks okay 😊😊.

@Sdoubleyou I used bio oil with my first but honestly it didn't do much and I was quite good at using it 🫤 I definitely don't have the worst stretch marks at all and they have definitely faded so can hardly see them but for me my skin stretched and has never completely gone back so it's a bit squishy and wrinkly haha (I'm only 27 😑). I really don't think there is much you can do BUT bio oil is supposed to help and moisturising can't be bad to try. Plus if it wasn't for my funny stretched skin on my tummy I don't think you'd really see the stretch marks now so maybe it did help 🤷. At the end of pregnancy mine were sooooo itchy which drove me mad ....

Hope everyone is okay x

KittyKat1989 · 20/05/2022 21:48

@Amphibian94 thank you. It’s so hard not to worry, but it does make sense that some stretching is needed considering what is going on in there! X

Tofu35 · 21/05/2022 09:00

Off to have a brunch hangout with some friends today. The friends I'm meeting today wanted a big boozy brunch with cocktails and then a wander around some craft markets. Instead of making up some excuse about medications that I can't drink on or being the designated driver, I just told them. I'm 11 weeks today so still early but beats the weird tales we have to say to cover up feeling grim! So I told them and now it's food brunch and back to theirs for a catch up.

Need to check the NHS site for the foods to avoid- I think poached eggs are risky?

stuntbubbles · 21/05/2022 09:08

Ah, @Tofu35 that’s so nice you told! It’s funny how we shroud it all in secrecy when actually, if the worst happened we’d need our friends’ support. Eleven weeks doesn’t feel too early given you can have your “12-week” scan from 11 to 13 weeks!

Anyway, poached eggs are fine: all eggs are fine, even raw, if they’re British Lion-marked ones. Have a fun brunch!

Over here, we have to clear out the house today for our buyers to measure up, but we’ve spent the night playing musical beds with a poorly DD, and the tiredness is triggering my gag reflex and it’s raining, so we’re about to set out on a “dry heave around a museum” expedition with a sleepy 3yo draped over DP’s shoulder. 😂😭 My kingdom for a hotel room, and quiet, and a giant vom bucket. Also some brunch pancakes.

DogsAndGin · 21/05/2022 09:12

@Tofu35 brunch sounds lovely - even raw eggs are fine, as long as they’re British Lion.

Sorry to hear some of you are feeling anxious about lack of symptoms - but remember, we’re very close to the end of the first trimester, where symptoms reduce and energy levels increase. It makes sense that some of us will experience that a bit early or a bit later than precisely 12 weeks.

@AG96 what a fab scan! Looks like a really baby now - I’ve no idea about skull shape, but it’s a very cute baby 😍

baby2in2022 · 21/05/2022 09:14

@Sdoubleyou I used bio oil with my first but I always forgot so to be fair I hardly used it. I thought I'd be prone to stretch marks as I have a few on top of my legs from growing up and I ended up with none.
I've read a few articles that say it's genetic and moisturising makes no difference. A lot of people do recommended the palmers coconut oil. It's worth doing just in case xx

AG96 · 21/05/2022 17:01

@Graceybaby I'm convinced little boy as well. Will be getting a private gender scan June 20th 💙

@DogsAndGin I know! Proper wriggling baby. Amazing what difference a couple of weeks makes to the scans. Just saw a blob at 7 weeks and now a month later a proper looking baby

Phoenixwings1989 · 21/05/2022 19:05

7 weeks and dark red blood appears. Hope it is just spotting.

hopefulsunshine11 · 21/05/2022 19:56

@Phoenixwings1989 please call your EPU on Monday morning! It's always best to get it checked. Hope all is ok.

Phoenixwings1989 · 21/05/2022 20:33

@hopefulsunshine11 DH suggested ringing 111 tonight to get checked out but nobody is free to babysit. Have just been on PAU website and they say unless over 18 weeks the have to go through GP/111. Monday will be best anyhow. Thank you.

baby2in2022 · 22/05/2022 08:33

@Phoenixwings1989 hope the bleeding has stopped for you. Lots have had bleeding in the group and baby's have been fine. Can bleed for so many reasons but definitely get checked out when you can for peace of mind xx

DogsAndGin · 22/05/2022 08:40

@Phoenixwings1989 I called 111 and they told me to go to A&E. But I told them the EPU would be better - to which, they replied that A&E can refer me there. I kindly reminded them that THEY could refer me to EPU, to save me the trip to A&E and they finally did refer me, but it took some persuasion. I was seen two days later for an early scan and everything was fine. Good luck x

hopefulsunshine11 · 22/05/2022 11:24

TMI girls but, I've not needed a no2 in about 3 days. I don't normally monitor but I feel like this isn't normal for me. I don't feel constipated or uncomfortable! Has anyone had this? Not sure what to do to get things moving or what really causes it?

Phoenixwings1989 · 22/05/2022 12:48

@baby2in2022 Bleeding has turned into all shades of brown, so not sure if that's good or bad. The fact so many have bleeding early is reassuring and will see about getting checked out tomorrow.

@DogsAndGin I can believe it. Had issues with 111 myself in the past and try not to go through them unless it's urgent. Saying that my GP Surgery is the same and it's like pulling teeth trying to get sense out of them at times as well. No better off.

@hopefulsunshine11 whenever I have issues I take dulcoease tablets and usually they do the trick.

DogsAndGin · 22/05/2022 12:50

@hopefulsunshine11 Don’t worry too much, I hadn’t been for almost 3 weeks, and if I go once every three days I’d be very happy indeed! I’m lucky to go once a week at the mo 😅🤣 Constipation is very common in pregnancy, but my dr recommended lactulose to get things moving - you can get it over the counter

Kaybubs · 22/05/2022 13:54

Has anyone got any top tips for nausea? I'm at 8 weeks. Several years ago I moved from the UK to an extremely hot country, which is not helping the nausea right now 😭 I miss the drizzle and wind. Also craving sausage rolls and mini eggs. Sigh

Sdoubleyou · 22/05/2022 14:55

@baby2in2022 & @lovesT, thanks, I agree that I'm not sure how successful it'll be, but I figure it won't hurt. I'm using an oil from a company called Saje. We'll see how it goes!

Are you ladies growing out of your clothes? I have a slim/athletic (not curvy) body type and my style is usually very fitted, which is not working for me and my bloated belly right now. I'm especially having trouble with jeans/shorts. I'm using an elastic band to hold everything together for now, but if I'm eating I need to just open it all up. Not sure I should get a band or invest in some loose summery clothing. It's been like 30'C plus humidity here already and we have really hot and humid summers (I'm in Montreal). Any advice? This is my first baby so not sure how to navigate my growing body throughout the seasons.
