baby2in2022 I definitely started feeling better around the same time and now feel mostly normal at 11+1 apart from a few symptoms but tiredness and nausea is way better. Seems loads of others are the same. I didn't worry so much with my daughter so I can't remember but I'm pretty sure it was the same with her! X

baby2in2022 · 16/05/2022 19:41

@Tofu35 the whole of Eurovision is impressive. I was tempted but can't predict what time my son wakes up so didn't want to risk a late night

@MadamMaltesers sorry you've been so poorly. I swear I've felt a little tap twice but only 9 weeks so it's probably wind haha

@stuntbubbles haha that is very emotional. I'm not suffering at all with my emotions. Feel exactly the same as pre pregnancy. sounds a lovely day out and I'm jealous of your nap

@lovesT it must be the placenta taking over. I'm so thankful for it. Last week I think my tiredness peaked it was horrific. Couldn't have lasted much longer like that

DogsAndGin · 16/05/2022 20:36

Oh girls I’m endlessly thirsty and have had a headache all day! Just don’t seem to be able to quench my thirst. I’ve had maybe 7 pints of water today plus juice. That’s about 4 litres! I wake up feeling like I have l awful hungover dry-mouth 😩

Rehearsals for the school production, sang at full volume, all day, has not helped my head!

Sdoubleyou · 16/05/2022 20:37

Hi everyone, it's funny that emotions came up today because I completely came undone last night. I don't want to be too much of a downer but essentially was thinking of how unfair it was that the baby we lost last year didn't get to live. I don't know where the heck that came from, but I had a good sob and journaling helped. Im also in tears at just about any emotional tv show (bawled through the last episode of This Is Us), even commercial.

We had our (almost) 10 week ultrasound today and I'm relieved and overjoyed that it went well! Baby looked like a little teddy bear wriggling it's hands and feet. Heartbeat was a brisk 161 and we got compliments on it's spine, which is apparently not usually so visible. I'm a proud Mama ❤️😆

@Dogsandgin oh my goodness the thirst 😧 it has intensified for me the last few days, twice this week I've been in Tesco to get some food and have been overwhelmed with feeling thirsty and no way I could think about food so had to buy some water to carry on haha. I've been thirsty anyway and have a drink every time I wake up (meaning when my daughter wakes me up 🙄) but it now comes on so suddenly and I'm just sooo thirsty haha.

@baby2in2022 yes good old placenta! It probably is that as it's supposed to happen around that time. I was the same with my tiredness, I was with my daughter all day and the tiredness hit me sooo hard. I fell asleep whilst she watched telly and just couldn't function 😩

Bulldogmom · 17/05/2022 07:43

Hi! New to mumsnet. Due 12/12!

Tofu35 · 17/05/2022 07:58

After my boasts about a late night at the weekend, I was asleep at 930 last night. Thoroughly knackered!

@Bulldogmom welcome!

siobhanmt247 · 17/05/2022 08:05

Morning ladies. Has anyone had round ligament pain or lightning crotch yet? I thought it wasn't supposed to happen until third trimester but it describes the oain I felt last night. I was rolling over in bed as must have caught a nerve or something? It was so painful but over in a flash. Really felt like it must have hurt the baby and I've been stressing so much. Was fully expecting to wake up bleeding this morning :(

tasha4eva10 · 17/05/2022 08:10

Yes I have been having it for weeks now with my medical team confirming it. They also said it could develop into SPD for me so not something I had anticipated this early on! I brought a bump support band yesterday so hopefully that will ease things

Bulldogmom · 17/05/2022 08:16

Thank you!

MrsCrumbtious · 17/05/2022 08:48

Anyone else noticing their symptoms going around 9 weeks? It’s either something completely normal or bad news looking through old posts here 😔.

AG96 · 17/05/2022 08:57

@MrsCrumbtious I started to feel better in my 10th week. Still tired but more human feeling. Probably 80% normal. Even went for a carvery!
This week (11th) the acid reflux is killing me 😩

Melusina123 · 17/05/2022 09:01

@MrsCrumbtious fwiw my app says wk8 is usually the worst, so one would expect things to get a bit better in wk9? The miscarriage odds reassurer says odds of MC in wk9 are down to less than 1 in 20. So hopefully just the placenta doing its thing?

I'm 8+2 and feeling pretty grim - no vomiting, but nausea from waking up to when I go to bed the last two days. 😩 Wouldn't hate if symptoms chilled out a bit, but I know I'd stress about it too!

LolaJ87 · 17/05/2022 09:29

@Sdoubleyou The hormonal ups and downs are something else. That is a beautiful scan though, congratulations.

I'm lightly spotting again. Both previous times were fine so I'm hoping its the same again, but it feels like I am never going to be able to relax, always worrying through this pregnancy. However while my nausea has abated a lot, I'm getting loads of headaches and my boobs are really sore again, so hopefully all good signs.

baby2in2022 · 17/05/2022 10:31

@MrsCrumbtious I'm definitely feeling a little more human. I remember last time my symptoms suddenly disappearing around week 9. I'm 9 weeks again now. I really don't think symptoms are indicative of a healthy pregnancy. Placenta is probably starting to take some of the burden off you now xx

tasha4eva10 · 17/05/2022 10:36

My symptoms seem to be settling a little too, not had much sickness this last few days but the tiredness is definitely still here, also the constant need to eat to keep sickness at bay is a new one for me! Waking up super hungry as though I haven't ate for days which in turn makes me feel sick so I have to have something to eat at the side of my bed upon waking up

stuntbubbles · 17/05/2022 11:15

Wish my symptoms would settle. The sickness has truly ramped up to horrifying levels; signed off work today as I was awake all night and puking shows no sign of abating. Got my booking in on Thursday and will mention it then/beg for meds this time.

Tofu35 · 17/05/2022 14:07

I'm sure it's not just me, but...

Is anyone else feeling really impatient recently? Don't know if it's the constant nausea but when my husband starts rambling on, I just say "get to the point" or just change the subject. I can usually sit through his 20 mins chats about whatever, but wow. I need the advert not the feature length film 😂
Also I think because of the ol' food aversions, I'm having to be much more decisive with regards to what I want to eat. No more "oh you pick". It's now "it needs to be this, or I'll not eat today".

Like a personality transplant!

DogsAndGin · 17/05/2022 17:26

@Tofu35 That’s me at the best of times 😆 I am soooo impatient to meet baby, and I still have 30 weeks to go 🤣🤣 I wasn’t born with an ounce of patience.

Yay @Bulldogmom that’s a great due date - far enough away from Xmas day! Welcome to the December crew. I am really pleased about having a Dec baby, I think it’s such a lovely, magical time of year. The in laws have already cancelled their Xmas plans to make sure they’re here for babies first Xmas 😅

I finally had my booking appt today, and I’ve got to say, it was very impressive! Aren’t we lucky to have the nhs!? She has booked me in for my scan, at 13+3, so it doesn’t clash with jury duty. And she’s booked me straight in with the antenatal mental health team. I plucked up the courage to mention about having an ELCS, and she was totally on board. Lovely first appointment.

Bulldogmom · 17/05/2022 18:05

Agree! Happy that its during December. Thats great, I also got really great service on my first appointment.

MrsWindrush · 17/05/2022 21:04

Just wondering at what stage did people hear from local midwife teams/have their booking appt? I’m 7+6 today and haven’t heard anything yet. Filled in a form online, got an automatic email reply saying to ring if you hear nothing after 5 days so I did that but it was an answerphone so left a message, and haven’t heard back yet. I’m in the Cotswolds/Gloucestershire - anyone else around here too?

LC84 · 17/05/2022 21:10

@MrsWindrush Im 7+6 today same as you bur different area of UK.. I just did a self referral online at 5w and got a letter through friday saying my appt is 31st may when I will be 9+6.. no idea on 12wk scan though but was relieved I got something back as just sendinf a form into the internet ether never fills me with confidencd

PandaOrLion · 17/05/2022 21:12

My booking appt was through my GP and was at about 6+4. It was made when I first rung my doctors to let them know I was pregnant.

I haven’t heard anything about my scan tho and currently 9+3. It’s at a different hospital to the main one in the trust I think it’s because of that.

stuntbubbles · 17/05/2022 21:16

@MrsWindrush I’d keep trying! I had to change my scan date and called endlessly; when I finally got through it turns out they only answer between 9am and 10am, but didn’t put that on the letter… Midwife teams are often busy so rather than wait for them to respond to your message, keep trying!

Is anyone else bloated as hell? I look like I’ve swallowed a space hopper. Apparently the cure for bloat is “drink more water” but I’ve developed a water aversion 🤮

MrsWindrush · 17/05/2022 21:20

Thank you @LC84 @PandaOrLion and @stuntbubbles ! I guess not having done this before means I don’t know whether I ought to just wait or chase…not sure what’s normal or expected! Can appreciate that they’re busy though - everywhere I look atm there seem to be pregnant people! Wonder if we’re part of a little post-covid baby boom…?
