@bbno2 my GP told me that she'd had two mmcs between 8 & 12 weeks (both after seeing a heartbeat) and two healthy pregnancies, and she had no spotting in her mmcs and spotting in both healthy pregnancies.

She was making the same point you are, which is that symptoms say very little about the health of an individual pregnancy. I don't know if that's reassuring or not, but at least it puts things in perspective...

HayleyBean · 12/05/2022 16:57

Hey how is everyone? My constant nausea has today progressed to actual vomit at 9+1....yayyyy. Anyone else crashing out early and waking up early and just feeling tired? Last night I was asleep by 9pm and then up at 3:45. How people with kids do this I have no idea!

LC84 · 12/05/2022 17:08

@Melusina123 @elliejay9 @Chanel05
Im with you guys... 7+1 today and had my first propee nausea this morning at work (not sick but only carbs kept it at bay lol).. apart from that just huge tender boobs and feel bit hungover every day... and for some reason im wide awake most nights between 2am and 5am which prob doesn't help 😳🤣

But I did expect to feel a lot worse so am wondering if Im getting away with it/about to ne floored or if everythings ok 😬😬😬

lovesT · 12/05/2022 18:15

@tasha4eva10 it's easy how tiny they are! According to my app baby should be just over 3cm (about the size of an olive) so maybe! Still tiny though! My tummy on the other hand is not looking so small anymore 😅

@bbno2 Mumsnet is a pain sometimes isn't it, I hate the tagging thing too!

It's hard to know but yes lovely if it is. I always loved feeling the kicks, nothing like it. I thought it was just one of those muscle spasms and it might be but it keeps being in exactly the same place. I'm 10+3 today.

Today I had a lovely morning out with my daughter swimming, glad I didn't see any mums I know there as the tight swimming costume definitely highlighted a small bump 😅.

In the afternoon I was hit by extreme tiredness 😴😴 I fell asleep on the sofa whilst my daughter was watching Peppa as I just couldn't keep my eyes open. This I'm going to introduce caffeine again 😬😬☕

@HayleyBean it's definitely not easy 😅 I don't remember finding it this hard when I was working, a toddler is a whole other level 🥴

Noodle87 · 12/05/2022 18:16

I had my first appointment today for bloods etc, and it was a lot better than I thought it would be, and the midwife, (although she won't be mine) was really lovely. Typically I was quite dehydrated so she struggled to get blood, but she got there eventually after a couple of stabs. Everything is starting to feel quite real now, especially as we've decided to tell family this weekend!

I've started to feel a little more human now and rather than being sick I now feel more occasional nausea, though the evening trapped wind is something else! SO uncomfortable. Pease tell me that this phase is one that passes (excuse the pun)...

Well, this morning my 3 year old climbed onto my back and hugged me round the neck while I crouched over the loo bowl, saying, “Don’t worry, mummy, I look after you… WOW! That’s a LOT of sickies!” So, you know, we have help Grin

I’m also going to bed early, then wide awake at night… but I wfh so I’m doing a lunchtime nap then, tbh, just finishing work whenever the fuck I feel done in. Our head of HR said “oh god, just go to bed instead of staring mindlessly at a screen, do whatever you need.” 4pm finishes it is.

Luckyme2022 · 13/05/2022 08:32

Good morning ladies and happy Friday! Finally another weekend is approaching. Any plan?

@stuntbubbles oh your 3 yo is so adoptable 🥰

I am 8 +3 today. Got my reassurance scan yesterday. Little one is looking healthy 😌. Anyone has suggestions what kind of test should be done when exactly ? Just conscious not to miss any deadline.

Due December '22 thread 2!
Luckyme2022 · 13/05/2022 08:33

Sorry @stuntbubbles I wanted to say adorable, not adoptable 🤣

Tofu35 · 13/05/2022 09:47

@Luckyme2022 I'm off to a wedding fair with my sister this weekend! Shes not booked a venue or set a date but wants to look around some suppliers. Can't wait!

NHS have some good webpages about tests (and when they happen):
www.nhs.uk/pregnancy/your-pregnancy-care/your-antenatal-appointments/
www.nhs.uk/pregnancy/your-pregnancy-care/antenatal-checks-and-tests/

baby2in2022 · 13/05/2022 10:20

Hope everyone's doing ok. Haven't managed to keep on top of the chat the last couple of days. I've had a couple of really bad days were the tiredness has been unreal. Had to swap a morning tea for an afternoon coffee to get me through.

@Luckyme2022 My little boy was 1 yesterday we had a great day at the farm and we have his birthday party tomorrow. Family barbecue 27 of us.
Do you have any plans?
As far as I remember the tests are just the bloods at the 12 week scan if you've opted for that and the 20 week scan then the routine blood tests that the midwives do. My memory is hazy and it wasn't even that long ago that I did it last xx

Horriblewoman · 13/05/2022 13:47

Urgent help!

I'm at a station about to get on a train to go to a hen party. I felt weird and went to the toilet and I've got some blood in my knickers and it's bright when I wipe. What the hell should I do?

I'm 7 weeks tomorrow and had an early scan on Wednesday which showed a heart beat.

Tofu35 · 13/05/2022 14:11

@Horriblewoman that must have been frightening for you to see. Sorry it happened just before you got on your train to the hen!

This might not be anything to worry about, a few of the posters here have had some random bleeding and everything has been ok.

But try and get a sanitary pad from the machine and stick it in your knickers. If your bleed gets heavier, and you start having really bad cramps, it might be worth contacting EPU or your midwife team (if you have one at this point) to get some advice.

Horriblewoman · 13/05/2022 14:14

Epu were pretty useless, I've decided to not get on the train because if it is the worst news I don't want to be 6 hours from home sharing a bed with a friend. Will see how it goes this afternoon

Melusina123 · 13/05/2022 14:26

@Horriblewoman I'm sorry to hear about the bleeding! I wouldn't have got on the train either. It is probably/hopefully nothing, but at the very least you'd spend the next few days stressing about it. Did EPU just say watch and wait? Will they book you in for a scan soon?

@LC84 - I'm finding it reassuring that there's a few of us around the same stage who are having similar/mild symptoms - otherwise I think I'd be really stressing about something being wrong. Early scan next Fri at 8+5 so we'll see then whether there is actually a baby in there and whether everything is (hopefully!) OK.

Luckyme2022 · 13/05/2022 14:48

@Horriblewoman i am sorry to hear you are experiencing the bleeding. It must be super stressful. If you can’t get the EPU for a scan, maybe try a private one? Crossing everything for you!

@Tofu35 it’s nice going to a wedding fair with your sister. But I bet you might need to go to a few more with her until she finds the perfect dress 😆. Thanks for the NHS link. I will have a nuchal scan on 12+5 and heard that the NIPT could be done before this time, even though NHS will offer the test too. I am just not sure the difference doing it early privately or later with NHS.

@baby2in2022 happy birthday to your little boy and good luck with your barbecue tomorrow. It looks like a big crowd. Hope you manage to hide your secret without showing too much symptom tomorrow.

BuchananBaby · 13/05/2022 15:59

Hope you're all doing well 🥰 11+3 today and exhausted!

Has anyone else's child suddenly had a personality transplant since you found out? My daughter is 14 months and now doesn't nap unless on me and oh the tantrums 😐!

@lovesT I thought I felt bubbles popping last night and thought oh that feels like the baby moving 😳 I felt DD at 15 weeks I think so I'm not sure although I do look pregnant 🙈

Melusina123 · 13/05/2022 17:58

Well, update on symptoms - I have a UTI. Anyone else joined that fun club yet? 😂 The doctor was like, "have you been feeling run-down or nauseous?" Well, yes, doctor, but that might not be the UTI...

RSmamaa · 13/05/2022 22:00

@BuchananBaby my son is just turning 14 months and he has been so clingy to me. Climbs all over me and just wants cuddles!

tasha4eva10 · 13/05/2022 22:03

Evening ladies, how is everyone doing today? Well we have our first private scan tomorrow morning and partner has tested positive for covid 🙈. For those who have had private scans before do you think they will be ok with me FaceTiming him during the scan so he doesn't miss out? I'm really nervous now about the scan I don't remember being this nervous with my first! I'm having lots of symptoms and have a bump so there's no reason to think otherwise but the anxiety is real!

Mommabear20 · 14/05/2022 07:38

@BuchananBaby my DD hasn't seemed to notice anything but my DS who is 10pm the old is clingier than ever! Sitting next to me isn't good enough anymore, he has to be sat on me, held by me, sleep on me and if I let him, eat sat with me (I'm very strict that food is only eaten in high chairs though! 😂)

My scan can't come around quickly enough for me! Not got any anxiety or anything like that, I just can't keep it a secret from family any longer 🤣 I've got a definite bump now so have to wear baggy jumpers every time I go out in case I bump into someone! 🤦‍♀️

@BuchananBaby no kids in the house, but my cat is determined to lie on me or next to me at all times 😂 don't know if animals can sense it?

hopefulsunshine11 · 14/05/2022 08:24

@Tofu35 my cats usually like to lay next to us, but the boy cat keeps lying on my stomach too, I wonder if they can sense it?

Horriblewoman · 14/05/2022 11:53

My bleeding yesterday was a miscarriage, first pregnancy so a bit hard to handle but it clearly wasn't meant to be.

I'll be bowing out now but good luck to everyone on this thread, I hope you have happy and healthy pregnancies and the best babies.

Mommabear20 · 14/05/2022 12:09

@Tofu35 one of my dogs is usually the type to want her own space but every time I've been pregnant she becomes my second shadow! Curls up with her head on my lap, licks my belly, and is just generally very affectionate. When I was in labour with my second (at home before we went to hospital, she knew something was happening and then started 'protecting' me from my husband if he came anywhere near me to make sure I was okay or rub my back, she'd growl at him as if to say 'back off! I got this!' 😂 she was the one to then lay under the Moses basket anytime either of them were in it. She's definitely the protector in our family ❤️ the other dog on the other hand just gets annoyed she can't sit on my knee anymore when I get a bump and there's no room anymore 😂

I'm so sorry @Horriblewoman, heartbroken for you. There are some really supportive groups on MN that I found really helpful during those early days after my miscarriage. You are not alone, please reach out for any support you need. Sending you love and strength xx
