Hi @Myotherusernameisaferrari congratulations! What a due date!

Hello @Mommabear20 I also have a boy and a girl. Are you hoping for another boy or girl? I'm really not fussed at the moment. But boy would be easier as we have more young boy stuff lol.

And also a lot of confusion over dates here, I had a scan on March 10th for an ovarian cyst and there wasn't a baby there... but seems I was actually pregnant then! I've had a dildocam scan since then to confirm dates as the blood test put me at 10-12 weeks but scan said 8.

DrummerMama · 07/05/2022 08:44

Hi everyone,
Brand new to the site and currently 8+6 with my first via ICSI. Been really interesting reading about all your experiences so far and congrats to us the December crew! I have to say, I'm over the moon about being pregnant but it is tough! Since wk5 I've been almost constantly nauseous, had headaches, been crying at nothing, am unimaginably exhausted and now hate food. I LOVE cake (always have, always will), but that is not a responsible thing to solely survive on now is it?! Some days fruit works, other days carbs. Mostly carbs. I'm meeting friends for breakfast soon and the thought of eating, let alone eating in a restaurant is filling me with dread! All the smells! Oh food my new nemesis

littlecontis · 07/05/2022 08:45

Hope ladies with spotting get seen asap and hope there's nothing to worry about.

I've been waking up in the middle of the night feeling nauseous 🤢 and so I haven't been sleeping well recently. Anyone in the same boat?

BuchananBaby · 07/05/2022 09:33

Congratulations to all the new pregnant mamas 🥳🥰

@DrummerMama if cake is what gets you through the next couple of weeks do it! I've just sent DP to mcdonalds for breakfast for the 2nd time this week and absolutely not regretting it, I'm 10+4 and just getting my appetite back 😁

@littlecontis my sleeping has been awful constantly tossing and turning and much harder to fall asleep too, I had the same with DD when I was pregnant and actually slept more/better after she was born 🙈

Got my scan date it 🥳 26th May so I'll be 13+2 then I can finally tell my gran 🙈😂

stuntbubbles · 07/05/2022 09:36

@littlecontis Keep some breadsticks next to the bed, and a sick bowl! I keep waking DP up with my 4am munching but it keeps the sick at bay; the bowl is a psychological comfort that I won’t spew on the sheets.

@DrummerMama I’m eating Pickled Onion Monster Munch almost exclusively. The baby will emerge extremely tangy. Every smell is awful, isn’t it? I opened the cupboard yesterday and got a waft of bread and had to rush to the sink and throw up. Bread! Of all the fucking things.

AG96 · 07/05/2022 10:08

Really sorry to see a few have been experiencing worrying things such as spotting. Everything crossed that all is okay 💐

Had some sharp stretchy pain in pelvic area last night. From my googling seems like ligament pain maybe? Today I'm feeling very "full", bloaty, tight in my lower abdomen/pelvis. Anyone else feel this or felt this?

Melusina123 · 07/05/2022 11:13

@AG96 I've had various weird crampy, spiky or stretchy pains - as long as they don't hang about for too long or keep occuring in the same place I try not to worry too much about it? (But always making a mental note to tell midwife at booking appt...) I think stretchy pains and feeling of pressure are classic early symptoms so hopefully nothing worry about. :)

Meanwhile, my newest symptom is cystic acne 🙄 got one under my eye atm. Delightful!

Orcarain · 07/05/2022 11:26

So my brown spotting has stopped! Which I’m so delighted at.

But now I’ve tested positive for COVID! Thankfully I’m very chill about it. Based on scouring here if you’re going to get it, get it in your first trimester!

How is everyone else?

AG96 · 07/05/2022 11:45

@Melusina123 Yes I think will be all normal growing uterus feelings! This is my first pregnancy so any different feeling I'm always wondering if it's normal

Sorry to hear about your skin troubles. Unfortunately can't advise as I have eczema and my skin is the texture of a dry Weetabix and mostly incapable of forming a spot 😩😂

PandaOrLion · 07/05/2022 11:48

We’re off to Spain today and I am preparing to annoy everyone else on the plane by needing to wee constantly. SUCH FUN!

Sorry to hear about so many people having spotting and nausea. Mine (both) come occasionally but thankfully pretty rare. Who knows what a flight will bring though.

KittyKat1989 · 07/05/2022 12:01

Good morning ladies. I’ve just asked my husband to confirm that I didn’t drink last night. I’ve woken up with what feels like a terrible hangover - sick, dizzy, headache. I’m 10W tomorrow so already counting down to the second trimester when things hopefully calm down a bit!

Tofu35 · 07/05/2022 12:27

@DrummerMama the aim of the next few weeks is finding some food your body thinks is safe. If that's a big plate of carbs and cakes, enjoy! Had that chat with my husband yesterday because he said having two chocolate brioches, crisps, crackers and couscous wasn't a lot of food for me. So I had to explain that on that day wet food is bad, and eating certain textures (weetabix...) would make me sick. Just be happy I'm eating! 😂

@KittyKat1989 aww that's a rough start to your day, hope you can have a quiet one and recover!

@PandaOrLion eek! Enjoy your holiday!

@Orcarain hope your symptoms are mild, seems like this strain is getting everyone!

@AG96 yes definitely feeling bloated some days, although I found that ginger beer seems to help shift some of the bloat. So that's my evening tipple :)

@stuntbubbles hating bread is the worst! Why does the first trimester want to make us miserable!

@littlecontis agree with @BuchananBaby keep some crackers or bread sticks at your bedside, soon as you wake up, have one of them and some water- only thing that keeps me functioning in the morning!
I tried to tag BB but it tagged this username below and now it won't let me delete it 😑
@buchanan

DrummerMama · 07/05/2022 12:58

@littlecontis yes also experiencing nausea in the night making it hard to sleep. Had an awful night of it a few nights back where I was really dizzy and dry retching too. I've found having a small carby snack just before bed is helping me a bit. I have to force myself to eat it usually, but the nausea is worse if I don't eat enough. I also always have water on hand. Hope you find something that helps

PinkFizz1 · 07/05/2022 13:11

I’ve just bought my first ever maternity dress, only 9+2 but I feel like the size of a house already!

DrummerMama · 07/05/2022 13:14

@stuntbubbles a tangy baby sounds perfectly fine! Thankfully I made it through the breakfast. I managed to have a cold fruit mocktail and pancakes with fresh fruit and am actually feeling ok. The door was open in the restaurant so it helped circulate the food smells. Thank goodness!

@BuchananBaby I went off Mcdonalds a few years ago but went past one the other day and thought 'hey that smells quite good', so I may be doing the same soon. Honestly I'd eat almost anything at the moment just to eat something! Glad your appetite is coming back, enjoy it!

@Tofu35 totally get you on wet food days and textures. I don't like bananas on their own usually, due to texture, but now its one of the only things I can eat. I can't have hot drinks anymore (and with that, my love of coffee has evaporated). Drinks have to be cold, ideally fridge cold. I can't eat wet foods unless they're hot. It feels like such a nonsense! Happy eating to you too. I love a good brioche

LC84 · 07/05/2022 13:14

Went for early scan yesterday... measuring bang on dates at 6+3 and a little heartbeat...!!

Not gunna lie I did panic when it took a while to locate- apparently my tilted cervix, tensed up vag muscles (hard to relax when someones digging around!) and large amounts of gas (charming!) Made it trickier 😳🙈🤣

Feel relieved having seen heartbeat as didnt get to that stage with previous early MC (mc at 8wks but baby hadnt grown past 5).. so altho it is still really early days and no guarantees, it has put my mind at ease a little...

LC84 · 07/05/2022 13:18

@DrummerMama Cake!!! Ive never had a sweet tooth at all before but for the whole of this week I want cake every single day... victoria sandwich or cream cakes specifically 🙈🤣

DrummerMama · 07/05/2022 13:30

@LC84 aww love a good Victoria! Enjoy. Well happy to meet a new fellow cake buddy. I try to have some fruit on mine so I feel less guilty😂

DrummerMama · 07/05/2022 13:39

@LC84 forgot to say congrats on a successful scan and heatbeat yay! I'm in such awe of what all our bodies are doing right now. My mind is literally blown every week reading about how much more the little one has grown and what parts of their body have further developed. Its bonkers!

Meowcat89 · 07/05/2022 13:45

@DrummerMama I am the biggest cake fan but I seem to have gone the opposite way. If I so much as look at an image of afternoon tea it makes me feel so nauseas. My husband is shocked 😂

Mommabear20 · 07/05/2022 14:09

@Mememe17 I'll honestly be happy with either, we have most things for both and the big bits (playmat & jumperoo etc are all neutral) but we REALLY struggled naming our son so on that basis alone, I'm hoping it's a girl as we've still got 3 names we both love so will actually be able to name the poor bear before it turns 3! 😂

Sdoubleyou · 07/05/2022 15:46

After reading all the comments about cake I spent about 20 minutes searching for red velvet cupcakes in my area. Am about to leave to buy a dozen. Very much hoping I don't take one bite and get turned off!

AmyAW · 07/05/2022 16:48

Having been for our early scan this morning, I'm feeling confident enough to join this thread! Due 30 December, our new year baby! The magic of seeing a heartbeat today was unbeatable.

Fortunately not too many symptoms yet, a bit of stretching sensation, tiredness and nausea, but it's early days. We go on a long haul holiday on Tuesday and I am begging I stay relatively asymptomatic....😬

stuntbubbles · 07/05/2022 16:55

@Meowcat89 This is me. Could ordinarily nail an entire bag of Haribo in one sitting but I’m absolutely off sugar. Except for possibly a cream bun. But brownies, cake, biscuits – bleurgh. Give me salt. Don’t give me vegetables, obviously. Just salt.

baby2in2022 · 07/05/2022 17:04

Those who are enjoying/gone off cakes. Apparently craving sweet stuff means girl and salty /savoury food a boy.

Although I was all for the sweet stuff when I was pregnant with my son but that was me before pregnancy as well rather than a craving xx
