@baby2in2022 Yes, definitely like jet lag!.. If only I was in a hot sunny country to make me feel better 😆Although it is beautiful weather here in East Sussex today!

@TradedAtlanta You're definitely right about being naive the first time round! I'm already thinking about everything that comes once the baby is here where as with my son I just went into it completely blindly!

I know my mornings are going to suddenly become a lot more chaotic that's for sure!!

Sunshine92 · 06/05/2022 11:02

@Graceybaby I am exactly the same, really struggling with motivation and feeling absolutely exhausted.

I had to call into work sick today because I just couldn’t face it.

hoping that I’ll get some more energy soon!

Melusina123 · 06/05/2022 12:42

@graceybaby @baby2in2022 completely agree it's like jetlag! It absolutely feels like I'm on the first week of getting back from the other side of the world and I just feel very sleepy and confused by how bright it is outside. 😂

Can't complain too much tho as other than that all is good here except the development of some very mild nausea (just enough to feel like things are progressing...!)

bb226 · 06/05/2022 13:15

Does anyone else work in healthcare? I’m 6+5 today and have waves of nausea all day, really struggling as I have to wear a mask all day plus am on my feet most of the day. I looked into those anti sickness bands but they have to be worn on the wrist apparently and I have to be bare below the elbows 😫 would love some advice if anyone is in a similar position! X

TradedAtlanta · 06/05/2022 13:28

@bb226 I'm NHS though split clinical and management role so able to wfh some of the time. On days I'm ward based I'm also really struggling with the masks, especially on warmer days. The other thing I'm grappling with is deciding when to inform work about the pregnancy. Last time round risk assessment meant I had to be non patient contact from as soon as I informed and it was so boring and frustrating. I'm toying with not informing before I legally have to but then I'll feel guilty giving less time to find maternity cover....

RSmamaa · 06/05/2022 14:03

Scan went well this morning. Saw the heartbeat and the picture was much clearer on screen. Glad everything is currently healthy ❤️ based on LMP I should be 8+2 but from ovulation I should be 7+3 which is exactly where the scan measured so I'm happy it's not behind that

LolaJ87 · 06/05/2022 14:55

Congrats @RSmamaa what a lovely clear scan!

PinkFizz1 · 06/05/2022 16:51

@RSmamaa fantastic news!!

Tofu35 · 06/05/2022 17:03

Lovely to see such a clear scan photo @RSmamaa. A good start to your weekend!

Laughingmole · 06/05/2022 17:27

For the first time in a month, I don’t feel nauseous today and it is sooooo amazing!
I’m even thinking about ordering a Chinese for dinner but not sure if that would be too risky!

LolaJ87 · 06/05/2022 17:38

@Laughingmole do it! Eat while you can! The nausea may come back, make the most of it.

Noodle87 · 06/05/2022 17:39

I've had some quite heavy spotting today so called the doctor, who managed to book a scan....but not until Monday. I'm in for a long weekend 😩

Has anybody been in a similar situation got any tips on staying calm and not panicking? Feel a little bit like I've just been left to possibly bleed for 3 days. I hadn't even told my mum yet so don't know what to do

Tofu35 · 06/05/2022 17:56

@Laughingmole get that Chinese! Enjoy yourself :D

DogsAndGin · 06/05/2022 18:35

Oh @Noodle87 sorry to hear that. Try and distract yourself as best you can as worrying and frantic googling will drive you insane. You could possibly pursue a private scan over the weekend? There have been ladies with spotting and bleeding who go on to have completely normal scans a few days later. I’ve got everything crossed for you that this is the case for you too 💐

Astar21 · 06/05/2022 19:24

@Noodle87 I'm experiencing this too 😔 mainly dark brown discharge with some red spotting. Spoke to the EPU who won't see me unless it turns to very heavy bleeding or continues for more than 7 days. So I've managed to book a private scan for Sunday, when I'll be 7 weeks. Such a worrying time. Hoping for the best 🙏🏼

RSmamaa · 06/05/2022 19:25

Thanks everyone I'm so relieved x

RSmamaa · 06/05/2022 19:27

@Noodle87 how are your other symptoms? If you are still experiencing nausea etc I wouldn't worry too much x

Laughingmole · 06/05/2022 19:52

My Chinese was amazing! So good to eat food with flavour!
@Noodle87 and @Astar21 sorry to hear you have got spotting. Could you go to a&e over the weekend if it gets worse? Hopefully everything will be fine 🤞 from reading other people’s posts, it seems that some light spotting is ‘normal’ and to only worry if it gets heavier. X

HayleyBean · 06/05/2022 19:56

@graceybaby the tiredness is just so much atm, this is my first and I honestly said to my husband 'how do people cope with this when they already have a kid?' I'm barely functioning in the evening and my husband is doing most the housework plus cooking.
@bb26 - I work in the NHS and we're still wearing masks. I've been struggling the past few days as I've felt really hot with it on, plus being on my feet all day makes for a very tiring work day. I can't help with the nausea as mine is constant. The only thing I can drink now is plain water 😭 I bloody hate water!
@TradedAtlanta my NHS trust policy is non patient facing from 26 or 28 weeks. I told work a few weeks ago and they've not done a risk assessment yet. Took them 8 woeeks to do my colleagues when she told them a few months ago!

Noodle87 · 06/05/2022 20:20

@DogsAndGin I've been trying to tell myself the same, and I know that it might be all fine - it's reassuring to have seen others in the same situation with a positive outcome!! It's just a long wait to find out!

@Astar21 I had some spotting earlier on, at around 6 weeks, and they said they couldnt do anything at that point. Now I'm further along (9 weeks) and it's the second time they called EPU for me. Fingers crossed everything is OK for you!

@RSmamaa I've still been nauseous this evening, but also had a mini migraine (stress triggers, unfortunately) so could be that. I was still being sick last night and queasy earlier today so I'm trying to see that as a positive sign.

@Laughingmole my gp didn't advise on what to do if it got worse, so I'd probably ring 111 if needs be. Luckily, for now at least, it's settled down.

Laughingmole · 06/05/2022 20:44

@Noodle87 when I went for booking appointment, my midwife said if there’s any problems when the EPU is closed, then to either call 111 or go to a&e. X

Mememe17 · 07/05/2022 04:55

Hey everyone, seems I'm late to the party?! Can I join you?
I'm 8 weeks pregnant with number 3. A massive shock as my first two were IVF babies.
So I've only just found out as also I've been on progesterone for a cyst which meant I wasn't having periods! So strange how it's happened.
We've had a loss at this stage before so I'm just taking each day as it comes.
I'm being sick a lot but doctors won't prescribe anything where I live. In my last three pregnancies I was on cyclazine.
Anyway, nice to meet you all!

Mememe17 · 07/05/2022 04:58

@Noodle87 @Astar21 sorry to hear of the problems. Hope all is well

Mommabear20 · 07/05/2022 06:23

Dory to everyone having spotting or other concerns! Hope you all manage to get some medical advice and all is well! 🤞🤞

And welcome @Mememe17! I'm 1 week further than you (I think, but due to a contraceptive failure I'm not 100% sure on dates!) 😂 this is also my third and obviously a massive surprise! What do you have already? I've got a girl and a boy so either way this time, 1 is gonna be hanged up on 😂

Morning all. I'm six weeks with first ever pregnancy - apparently due New Years Eve. So I just squeak into this group!
