@PinkFizz1 glad it's reassuring 😊

@GraceyBaby totally agree, has to be chicken flavour, no way could I eat bacon flavour 🤢. With my last pregnancy for a while I craved chicken noodle soup but without the chicken ... I actually found some 😂

hopefulsunshine11 · 05/05/2022 14:26

My cramps are getting worse today and I'm terrified, keep going to the loo to check. They're not excruciating but I've taken tablets to help ease it as they're stronger than they have been. There's no point in phoning epu as they'll just tell me to monitor it. I'm thinking of leaving work sharp and heading home with a hot water bottle and cuddling up in bed. It's a really low pain and a lot of like pulling and pushing, just feel like I'm going to come on any time now.

My scan isn't for 3 weeks and I keep putting off an early scan after my bad experience last year!

Kaybubs · 05/05/2022 14:59

Mmmm I've got some serious cravings for chicken noodles (and picked onion monster munch) after reading all these posts.

@hopefulsunshine11 sorry to hear you're feeling rubbish. Hope the pain subsides soon 💜

Thanks for all your first scan advice. Going tomorrow so I'll keep you posted.

Does anyone have any clever tips to hide the fact that I won't be drinking at a party this weekend. Some of my closest friends and family will be there so I have to be extremely convincing 🧐

LolaJ87 · 05/05/2022 15:28

After more spotting on Sunday I was really, really nervous about my scan today, but it went great.

I was previously measuring 5 days behind my LMP dates and today I measured 4 days behind my LMP dates so all looking good and on track with a revised due date of 7 December 😁 It looks so much more like a baby than at my last scan 13 days ago, it was wiggling away too! I am over the moon!

@KittyKat1989 I know you were in the same boat, and I said I'd keep you posted. I'm sure yours will go just as well.

LolaJ87 · 05/05/2022 15:32

Whoops, photo didn’t attach!

Its a photo of a hard copy, so not the best quality but it was super clear on the screen.

@LolaJ87 what fantastic news and a great pic!

LolaJ87 · 05/05/2022 15:43

Thanks so much @PinkFizz1 - I can't stop smiling!

lovesT · 05/05/2022 16:05

@LolaJ87 that's a lovely picture! How many weeks are you? It's crazy how quickly they change!! Can't wait for my scan on 27th!

LolaJ87 · 05/05/2022 16:18

@lovesT I was 9+5 going by my LMP dates but I'm 9+1 based on measurements. They'll check again on the 23rd 😀

The only downside of measuring behind is that because I've just hit 9 weeks and I'm chunky, my NIPT may be inconclusive. So they did say there's a chance I'll need to come back for a re-draw.

Luckyme2022 · 05/05/2022 16:39

@PinkFizz1 I got my scan on week 13 too. It will be my first midwife meeting. I had 3 MC before so I was hoping to get an appointment earlier but the hospital told me there isn’t any earlier appointment available. Did you try to call them to move the appointment forward?

@Bluebonnet3 congrats! I am also just 7 weeks and went thought similar journey as you with MC and failed IVFs. I am 40 now and this is my first. So honestly it’s a constant worry everyday that something will go wrong. But let’s be positive and fingers crossed everything goes well for all of us ❤️

Does anyone experience frequent stomachache? I am not having nausea or morning sickness, but I am just hungry and getting stomachache everyday.

lovesT · 05/05/2022 17:17

@Lolaj87 aww lovely!! I should be 9+4 according to last scans and baby centre app but haven't had a scan since 7+4 weeks. It exciting to see what baby should look like around now though 🥰 my next scan will be at 12 weeks, I remember that one being exciting with my daughter so I hope it's the same ❤️

PinkFizz1 · 05/05/2022 19:29

@Luckyme2022 sorry to hear about your MCs. No I’ve not tried to get it moved forward, tbh I’ve had my booking appointment, I’ve got a midwife appointment next week for bloods etc and I’ve had 2 scans already (1 private and 1 due to some bleeding) AND I’ll most probably get another private scan before my NHS one anyway 😂 I have allllll the anxiety!!

Luckyme2022 · 05/05/2022 19:46

@PinkFizz1 I see. So you’ve got the midwife appointment next week. That’s great. I am not sure if I have any midwife appointment before my scan coz I haven’t received any document except a text for scan. I will ring the hospital to check. Sounds like you do have a number of scans. I will probably get a private scan before that too. 😊 too much anxiety obviously.

I had to to ring about mine as heard literally nothing back from my self referral, apparently they had a new system and some letters never got sent 🙄 anyway, I have a blood test next week and a phone appointment the following week - I kind of assumed it would be a face to face appointment, so a bit disappointed for some reason

stuntbubbles · 06/05/2022 07:48

Six weeks today! 🥳 Feels like six years already thanks to early testing. But also a decent milestone so I’ve caved and done my self-referral to the midwives, eek.

Mommabear20 · 06/05/2022 08:16

8+6 today! Anyone else finding it difficult to lift their kids now? My DD is not yet 2 but I literally can't lift her more than to put her in her crib!

Didn't get much sleep last night as DS wouldn't settle at all in his crib so he came in with us, to which my husband rolled his eyes muttered 'ffs!' And rolled over so I was awake most of the night with DS. Seeing my BFF today though for the first time in almost a year so I'm looking forward to that!

Tofu35 · 06/05/2022 08:24

Lovely news @stuntbubbles, let's hope week 6 treats you well :)

@Mommabear20 aww spending time with your bff sounds great, are you going to tell them or is it being kept a secret for now? I didn't get a lot of sleep either, but that was caused by a migraine. Very cautious about taking anything for it, might just call in sick to work and lie in a darkened room today.

stuntbubbles · 06/05/2022 08:25

@Mommabear20 Thankfully 3yo DD has just gone into a big girl bed so I don’t have to hoik her into the cot anymore! And her nursery is only 4 minutes’ walk away so I can just about manage carrying her there when she’s being lazy/stubborn/3 – it’s the lifting up/putting down I find knackering rather than the carrying itself. My whole body aches!

TradedAtlanta · 06/05/2022 08:46

I think I'm 7 weeks today... long and irregular cycle means I'm not entirely sure and all the pregnancy apps that calculate from LMP say I'm further along which makes me feel 12 weeks is going by even more slowly. I can't remember my first pregnancy feeling this interminable. I feel like I've been pregnant for ages and only just crawled to 7 weeks! I didn't have any kind of private scanning in my first pregnancy but all your stories are making me sorely tempted. We're going on holiday with my in laws when I think I'll be 12 weeks. If my first NHS scan isn't arranged for before that, I think I'll book a private one - I'm obviously going to have to tell them as I won't be able to disguise the pregnancy for 2 weeks but I want to be confident everything is OK before I do!

Jj19 · 06/05/2022 09:06

Yes @Mommabear20. Finding it tricky to carry round my very tall 2.5 year old. It’s mainly the lifting and bending over as it makes me feel sick. Plus he’s a super cuddly boy and the smothering me is making me feel worse 😭

LolaJ87 · 06/05/2022 09:45

@Tofu35 I get migraines too, and it's awful not being able to take anything. I found that using those Kool & Soothe strips on my forehead and neck, as well as a sleep in the dark provided some relief, but it is rough. I hope you feel better soon.

Tofu35 · 06/05/2022 09:47

Thank you @LolaJ87 , I'll give them a go!

Graceybaby · 06/05/2022 09:57

Loving all the talk of scans, getting me excited for mine next week.. think it may finally sink in that I'm actually pregnant!

7 weeks tomorrow and the nausea kicked in this morning.. I'm not sure if its a bug or pregnancy related though, been a bit run down for the last few days so may have picked up a bug as my heads very foggy too.

Finding being at work so hard atm especially with the nausea, I have no energy and just no drive.. don't remember feeling like this with my son, those having baby 2+ do you just think it's because we're just generally more tired this time round?

xxx

baby2in2022 · 06/05/2022 10:16

@Graceybaby I'm definitely more tired this pregnancy. I didn't get any first Trimester tiredness with my son.
The tiredness doesn't feel like the tiredness I had before I was pregnant though. It feels like jet lag. It is probably worse because we can't rest whenever we want though x

TradedAtlanta · 06/05/2022 10:31

@Graceybaby I do remember coming home from work and lying in bed for an hour in my first pregnancy before I could do anything. I'm feeling way less motivated this time round but that may be partly because of wfh more, meaning there is less incentive to disguise my pregnancy tiredness in work hours. It's definitely having an impact having to keep going for my DD and not having such good sleep at night... plus this time I'm not so naive about what's coming when the baby gets here 😓
