@Graceybaby I'm feeling the same. I wake multiple times in the night and eventually give up and go downstairs and try and get an hour on the sofa or something. I also have been having days off work but can't do it much as I don't get paid if I'm not there.
Not sure if there's anything we can do or take but you're not alone.

Tofu35 · 05/05/2022 07:03

@AG96 @Graceybaby another member if the wide awake club here! By 10pm I am exhausted, but wake up at 2am (among other times) feeling like I've slept for 12 hours. I haven't found anything to help yet, just have some water, have a teabiscuit and try not to be jealous of my snoring husband beside me!

lovesT · 05/05/2022 08:09

Sorry to those suffering with insomnia! I feel like I had it before I had my bfp a bit but now all I do is sleep when my daughter isn't waking me up at night. Last night I was so tired so went to be at 8:30, woke up 2/3 times for my daughter but otherwise slept and husband went down with my daughter so I got up at 7:30. I soooo needed it. Maybe your midwife would know about things that night help??

stuntbubbles · 05/05/2022 09:19

Also have insomnia, but could sleep for england in the day.

Anyone else suffering from extreme “can’t be arsed-ness” at work. I’m supposed to be preparing a training course, gearing up for my annual review, doing a plateful of stuff… just can’t motivate myself to care! Why isn’t my job “sitting on the sofa eating crisps”?

baby2in2022 · 05/05/2022 09:27

@stuntbubbles I'm same with work. I've only been back a month from my last maternity and knowing I'll be off again from December leaves me with no motivation. I'm working from home as well which doesn't help.

I had insomnia in my last pregnancy. Think it was just the anxiety waking me up. I found meditation apps helped. The Harry styles sleep story on calm usually did the trick. Was very relaxing xx

PinkFizz1 · 05/05/2022 09:45

Morning everyone. Just wondering if anyone else is having random aches? Not the period type cramps we had in the beginning, but since last night I’ve been having an ‘ache’ in one specific part of my uterus, quite low down and to the left. It’s coming in waves and it’s not painful but achey, always in the same spot. Never anywhere else. I’m just wondering if that’s normal and what it could be? I’m 9 weeks today. Had a scan on Monday due to some light bleeding but that stopped very quickly and baby was fine. Any ideas?

RSmamaa · 05/05/2022 10:18

@baby2in2022 they came back at 137,000 something (i think thats what she said) and have a scan tomorrow 😃

AG96 · 05/05/2022 10:20

@stuntbubbles I feel you with the work thing. I work in an electronics factory. It's okay when I get to work at my bench but I often find myself in ovens or dipping things in metal that 450degrees and I'm so sweaty and fed up lol.

Think I've definitely broken the record for person who has cried the most in the factory 😂

F03t · 05/05/2022 11:04

@Graceybaby @AG96 @Tofu35 absolutely the same on the insomnia, i'm soo tired all the time but randomly wide awake from between 3-5am every day despite feeling exhausted/needing the naps during the day! One of my friends has just recommended a diffuser - maybe worth a try?

Otherwise, aside from chronic exhaustion my symptoms have still completely disappeared for the last week (9+3 today) - have managed to eat & smell everything lately, no sickness, no sore boobs - not sure whether to be happy or worried but feeling the latter!

Graceybaby · 05/05/2022 12:07

@AG96

Thanks everyone, So glad I'm not alone! - I feel less insane now!

Struggling at work today.. just having to keep snacking to keep my energy levels up..

I've spoken to the doctor this morning and she said to go to the Pharmacy and get some antihistamines?... I have struggled with Insomnia previously (After I split from my sons father) and took these then and found they didn't work so I think I'm going to give that a miss plus I really don't want to be taking any pills, natural or not.

I have however just ordered some Magnesium sleep spray from 'Feather & down' ..I have read good reviews so thought I'd give it a go!

Also going to try changing my night time routine and have a bath just before bed and avoid the TV before bed (usually I have a bath then watch a bit of TV before bed)

  • I will try anything right now!

x

Graceybaby · 05/05/2022 12:10

Oh and I have a Yankee candle sleep diffuser.. cost me £40 but it doesn't help!! Does smell amazing though!😅🙈

lovesT · 05/05/2022 12:43

@PinkFizz1 yes I've had quite a lot of aches, sometimes one specific bit and sometimes other places. Achy is the right way to describe it. I think it's everything growing and stretching which makes sense because I now have a small bump at 9+3 days 😳

hopefulsunshine11 · 05/05/2022 13:03

@PinkFizz1 I've been getting cramps again but mind are period type. Actually just now they are quite painful and I'm a bit stressed. Although I did have a stitch type pain all day yesterday in one area but it has eased off. It could just be "things moving"? Keep and eye and maybe text your midwife if you're worried. When is your next scan?

hopefulsunshine11 · 05/05/2022 13:04

@lovesT you're around the same dates as me. I don't feel as bloated and I've actually lost a few lbs. I can't tell if I have a bump as I'm overweight. I do keep having the cramps though. Have you had a scan?

Tofu35 · 05/05/2022 13:05

Today's food disaster- I'm now utterly repulsed by bread. My best chum these last few weeks is now my enemy. Goodbye toast and sandwiches. Trying to find my new safe food (it could be crisps or apple slices).

stuntbubbles · 05/05/2022 13:12

@Tofu35 Oh shit this is my greatest fear. I’m living off beige foods: macaroni cheese, supernoodles, hula hoops, chips – any of those tickle your pickle?

I’ve just discovered that DP, the ratfink bastard, has been dipping into my stash of pickled onion monster munch. May do a murder.

PinkFizz1 · 05/05/2022 13:24

@lovesT @hopefulsunshine11 thanks both, I’m hoping it’s just normal. My next scan isn’t until my 12 week NHS which is 1st June when I’ll actually be 13 weeks.. but I have a feeling I’ll be paying for another private one before then! 😬😬

Tofu35 · 05/05/2022 13:24

@stuntbubbles in the words of Mumsnet "LTB". That is a crime there can be no forgiveness for!

I had a think about your options, and my reaction to macaroni cheese (usual top tier option) was "that's wet=bad food". Today's lunch is some slices of cheese, apple, and crisps. Dinner may be plain cold pasta, as anything with flavour is bad today. Hula hoops sound good though!

Maybe this is why I was craving a buritto yesterday- my body was preparing me for this new food hell!

lovesT · 05/05/2022 13:26

@hopefulsunshine11 I had a scan at 7+1 weeks and 7+4 weeks. The pain usually goes away if I rest, it's usually when I've been walking around the house a lot. I do remember pains like this with my daughter but contact your midwife if you're worried. I'm a size 8 and have diastasis recti from last pregnancy so think my bump is popping sooner this time. I compared and it looks like it did at 14 weeks with my daughter 😬

lovesT · 05/05/2022 13:28

@Tofu35 in off read too mostly 🙁 unless it's jam on toast 🤷

@stuntbubbles I have a stash of super noodles too 🫢

Oh no @Tofu35 that’s a disaster. I’ve been living off sandwiches lately and I went to have a chicken and cheese one at lunch and discovered the mature cheddar tasted too strong?! So ended up having some apple and picking the chicken off the sandwich.

is anyone else feeling a bit nervous about driving? I travel about a bit for my work and have found the last few days with the exhaustion and driving alone has felt a bit much and I’ve got more emotional about it. I’ve ended up taking public transport but there’s no way I can do that in the long term either! Any thoughts or suggestions welcome :)

lovesT · 05/05/2022 13:36

@hopefulsunshine11 @PinkFizz1 I found this website helpful for info on pain www.tommys.org/pregnancy-information/pregnancy-symptom-checker/stomach-abdominal-pain-or-cramps-pregnancy

Tofu35 · 05/05/2022 13:38

No advice @Wanderlust16 but massive agreement and sympathy. I had a bit of a meltdown at the thought of driving yesterday!

Hope you can go back to sandwiches tomorrow (maybe with a new filling though!)

PinkFizz1 · 05/05/2022 13:41

@lovesT ah thanks that’s quite reassuring actually. For some reason the fact that it’s in exactly the same specific spot is worrying me a bit but seems to be quite common.

Graceybaby · 05/05/2022 13:43

Oo.. I've been on the super noodles too! Only certain flavours though, curry or chicken! The idea of eating the bacon flavoured ones turns my stomach.

Been managing to eat mostly anything though luckily.

You do apparently show quicker with your second, third and so on dont you?.. This is my second so will be interesting to see. Think you also tend to get more aches and pains with second, third etc as the relaxin hormone is more effective/quicker because your bodies already been 'stretched' so to speak!

I've definitely noticed a difference, my back and hips are achy pretty much all the time atm x
