Has anyone booked a scan /had a scan before 8weeks. Just wondering if it’s worth booking . I have one booked for 8weeks but not sure I can wait that long. X

Chanel05 · 14/04/2022 10:06

Hello! I got my (tentative) bfp this morning - I'm only 9dpo.

This is my 7th cycle of ttc #2. I'd be due on 27th December, which also happens to be my birthday 😂.

LolaJ87 · 14/04/2022 10:27

Yes @BuchananBaby @Tofu35 the car definitely makes nausea worse! I have Tuc crackers in the car, and chewing gum. I still think getting out is good though!

BuchananBaby · 14/04/2022 10:30

@LolaJ87 absolutely I need to get out of this house I'm driving myself mad!

F03t · 14/04/2022 10:45

Hello, hope its ok to join?

I got positive test on 11/04, ClearBlue said 3+ weeks - its my first, think I am due 10th-13th Dec but unsure fully on dates, so think I'm 5+4.

I called the GP yesterday and they said call back in a few weeks if still receiving positive test and then they would refer to a midwife - this felt a bit weird, not sure if its common practice?

I've been having really bad cramps since Tues - that woke me up through the night. No bleeding but lots of discharge and lower abdominal cramping/upper leg pain. Again, no idea if this is normal? Feeling really worried and teary so appreciate any advice!

And hope everyone is doing ok

Saza185 · 14/04/2022 10:59

@AfterBathingAtBaxters yes, I feel quite tight too! 😂 I've booked an early scan next week, I'll be 6+3 I think but I just want to know if it's okay! I did notice yesterday that drinking loads of water helped a lot!

BuchananBaby · 14/04/2022 12:51

Been out and about went to aldi and spent £45 on snacks 🙈 feel 1 million times better now so definitely worth it 🥰 now I'm going to have a wee nap 😂 7 weeks today and I'm so excited about it 🥰

Tofu35 · 14/04/2022 13:12

Aldis nutty granola is my number one breakfast cereal just now @buchananbaby. What snacks did you get?

littlecontis · 14/04/2022 13:36

@83dj83 I plan to get a scan when I am about 8 weeks . I wasn't sure if I could wait that long either but felt around 8 weeks is a good time to get a scan.

mmp22 · 14/04/2022 14:03

so I’ve been having really bad cramps today (16dpo and due 16th dec) and had a tiny bit of blood when i wiped earlier. the cramps don’t seem to be going away and just feeling nervous because all my tests have been a super faint positive.. should i be worried?

Tofu35 · 14/04/2022 14:13

@mmp22 if you're concerned about wiping and seeing blood, and your cramps, best thing to do is call early pregnancy unit. They'll be best placed to advise you.

LolaJ87 · 14/04/2022 14:25

@BuchananBaby I'm delighted you went out! Good for you and enjoy your snacks! I agree with @Tofu35, tell us what you got so we can be jealous inspired Grin

@F03t Yeah that's totally normal, they basically don't want to talk to you until you're 6 - 8 weeks (depending on where you are) it seems. Sadly so many early pregnancies don't progress, I think that's why they don't book appointments until it looks like it's sticking. The cramps are normal too btw, I've had them on and off since before I knew I was pregnant (I kept expecting my period) and unless you're in bad pain/bleeding then it's nothing to worry about.

LolaJ87 · 14/04/2022 14:26

@mmp22 at 16 DPO you're probably only due your period? Some spotting is normal in it's place, its likely implantation bleeding. I don't think an EPU will see you this early on but wait a couple of days and test again - if it's darker then everything is going well.

Mommabear20 · 14/04/2022 14:32

Can I ask any of you lovely ladies for who this is baby 2 or 3, do you feel like you're showing yet? I know it's still early days but with the bloating I feel a lot rounder in the front, I know it's only bloating and too early to be baby yet but I'm panicking like crazy that someone is going to say something as I'm usually pretty slim (praise be to high wasted skinny jeans 😂)

BuchananBaby · 14/04/2022 14:59

@Tofu35 and @LolaJ87 I got 3 packs of ginger nuts, oaties (because they're the king of biscuits in this house), Yogurt covered rice cakes, rich tea, more cream Crackers, a large assortment of fresh juice and so many cereal bars! I also got stuff to put in the over for the next few days because I hate cooking 🙈😂

@Mommabear20 this is my second and everytime I eat I'm huge! Even water bloats me 😩 I'm a 16 though so I doubt many people notice except me 🙈

MrsCrumbtious · 14/04/2022 15:27

@Mommabear20 I’m expecting number 2 and bloated already at 4 1/2 weeks 🙈 not sure how to hide this at the weekend when we go and see the family especially as it’s supposed to be quite warm where we are

littlecontis · 14/04/2022 15:43

@BuchananBaby @Tofu35@LolaJ87 I asked hubby to get me some tangerines and rich tea biscuits from the kitchen, he returned with 2 tangerines and ONE biscuit and I am too tired to move... Sad

Tofu35 · 14/04/2022 15:46

One biscuit? That's a jailable offence! @littlecontis

OP posts:
BuchananBaby · 14/04/2022 15:52

@littlecontis 1 biscuit 😳 I would honestly say that's grounds for divorce 😂 we have biscuit tin in this house and if I ask for something he brings in the whole tin 😂😂

littlecontis · 14/04/2022 15:56

@Tofu35 @BuchananBaby I know right! But I do worry about putting a lot of weight on during my pregnancy. We have a couple of weddings to go to in the summer and I am quite excited to be shopping for a floaty dress! I am gonna be a bridesmaid for a friend but I'd be around 22 weeks, I don't know whether I should step down. I haven't told her yet, wanted to wait until first scan. Any ladies going to any weddings this summer? What are you wearing? Looking for ideas!

PinkFizz1 · 14/04/2022 15:57

@littlecontis ONE biscuit? LTB.

lovesT · 14/04/2022 16:36

Good snack ideas @Buchananbaby! I went shopping today and got whatever I fancied 😅 including ready made mash, nice sausages and baked beans (honestly baked beans saved me last pregnancy) and some Muller corner yoghurts with the little chocolate and vanilla balls 🤤 which my daughter then stole some of 🙄.

I don't want to speak too soon but I THINK the brown discharge has stopped/ is stopping, I really hope that's it. It seemed lighter this morning and now seems more of a normal colour. So that was about a day and a half if it is over? And never enough to go in my underwear, only when wiping (sorry the tmi of pregnancy 🙄). When I took a test this morning it was dark within seconds, anyone who knows more would you say that all sounds good? I won't know for sure until my early scan on Thursday next week but having all the pregnancy symptoms and a very strong pregnancy test seems positive right??

Mommabear20 · 14/04/2022 17:08

@MrsCrumbtious my mum comes with me to my kids swimming lessons every week where I have to be in the water with them so literally no way of hiding it! 🤦‍♀️😣

BuchananBaby · 14/04/2022 17:44

@lovesT I love it! I also bought a giant bbq chicken stuffed crust pizza which is obviously for 2 people but I'm demolishing the lot myself tonight incase I can't eat tomorrow 🙈 that all sounds good this pregnancy melarcy is a roller coaster isn't it!
