Hi there, I’ve been lurking for the past month just reading! I thought it was time I finally joined in. Going off LMP Im due on the 9th (but could possibly be 12th from OV), this will be my 3rd as I already have a 5 and 3 year old.
I too am suffering bad with the nausea, I just wanted to put a suggestion out there for others about the anti-sickness bands! I ordered some off Amazon and I swear it’s massively decreased by about 75% in the hour I’ve had them, so it’s deffo worth a try for the £3 something they were!

5manc · 26/04/2022 11:32

Hi everyone! I've not posted since the first thread but I had an early reassurance scan today measuring 7+3 and the little blob seems to be doing well 🥺❤️ still in shock that there is actually a baby in there! For those that are having scans - my nhs one was internal but it was absolutely fine! Xx

5manc · 26/04/2022 11:37

Also my nausea has been awful so feeling for all of you that are struggling! Hoping to get some anti sickness tablets from the Dr soon! 🤞

Dinners are so hard as I usually plan my weekly meals then realise I don't fancy anything haha. Any suggestions on easy dinners welcome!

BuchananBaby · 26/04/2022 11:46

@5manc so good to hear from you! I've been keeping a wee eye out for you and was worried when you hadn't posted for a bit! Glad you're doing well 🥰 the nausea is awful isn't it! I've just been eating picky stuff but tbh it isn't really helping 🙈😂

LolaJ87 · 26/04/2022 11:47

I think the website is playing up a LOT!

@KokoNights I just wanted to let you know you do a kegel by squeezing the muscles you'd use to hold your wee. So like if you were bursting to go, you automatically squeeze your downstairs to stop yourself from wetting your pants, and it's basically just doing this squeezing while you're not bursting to wee. I hope this helps!

Tofu35 · 26/04/2022 11:49

@5manc we had chicken wraps the other night, which was very plain but was a nice treat from the pasta and potato based meals that dominate my dinners recently!

I survived my trip into work yesterday- full day of meetings so I couldn't even hide at my desk. Chewing gum was my saviour (as was eating a handful of mini cheddars in the toilet when I started feeling woozy in one of the meetings). I think having all the social interaction actually distracted me from feeling too rubbish.

Glad everyones doing well!

Zero symptoms here still, just very tired but I'm not sleeping too well so probably not just pregnancy related!

I don't feel pregnant at all..! Just going to count myself as one of the lucky ones for now .. scan on the 14th.. so longggg!

xx

Chanel05 · 26/04/2022 13:22

5 weeks today and the tiredness have kicked in like crazy. My daughter is napping so I'm sat under a blanket on the sofa watching YouTube.

Sera123 · 26/04/2022 13:57

Hey Ladies, thought I'd pop up and say hi as it's been a little while. I'm constantly reading along with you but I've been relatively symptom-free so not much to report my end.

Midwife appointment is on Friday, annoyingly looks like DH who normally works from home (so any other week would have been totally fine) is on site this week so may not be able to attend unless they finish a bit early. Are your partners planning on attending this meeting? Don't think its as important as later on but curious to know what most people are doing!

We're having our kitchen flooring redone at the moment so hopefully they are done by Friday or it's going to be an awkward meeting crammed into the living room with all of the excess furniture 🙈

SweetMelody19 · 26/04/2022 14:00

Hi just wondering if anyone can help me figure out how far along I am? Going of my last period, it would make me 6/7 weeks. Clear blue digital puts me at 4-5 weeks. Im not too sure when I ovulate due to pcos. I had a mc a couple of months ago at 10 weeks so I think I'm just anxious and nervous and over thinking everything! Thanks for your help! X

baby2in2022 · 26/04/2022 14:03

@Graceybaby I'm glad you mentioned symptom free. I'm starting to feel like a bit of a fraud now.

@Sera123 my husband didn't come to any of my appointments last time due to covid and to be fair it would have been a waste of his time anyway. I don't think id have taken him even if he was allowed. Is it your booking in appointment? They do ask for family history at that one if I remember rightly so may be useful to ask him about any known health conditions in his family. Long as he's there for scans then I'd say that would be fine and of course if later on you feel you need his support or for him to advocate for you at any appointments xx

baby2in2022 · 26/04/2022 14:10

@SweetMelody19 sorry to hear about your mc. If you have long cycles then going off your LMP would put you further ahead than you are and with you not being able to track ovulation I would say going off the clear blue will probably give you the best indication. You won't know for certain until your 12 week scan unfortunately. x

SweetMelody19 · 26/04/2022 14:12

@baby2in2022 Thank you for responding. Yeah I will just stick to that for now. I think I'm just at the stage of over thinking everything 🙈 Want the next few weeks to hurry a little so we can have a scan ♥️

Mommabear20 · 26/04/2022 14:35

Had my booking in appointment this morning, managed to avoid my sister who works there so the secrets safe for now! 😂
Was the same midwife I saw with both previous pregnancies and was greeted with a jokey ' not again!' 😂

Melusina123 · 26/04/2022 15:52

@baby2in2022 @Graceybaby I'm 5+2 and also no symptoms except a bunch of things that happen to me anyway (very sleepy, mild abdominal twinges, mild headache, extra CM like first half of cycle). Sometimes I feel like I almost 'forget' I'm pregnant and have to go look at one of the positive HPTs I have sitting in a drawer to be like, "Yes, this did happen, you didn't just misremember getting a positive HPT, you are indeed pregnant."

I think it's extra weird because other than a CP that basically started the day I got the +ve test, I've never been pregnant so I'm struggling to integrate it into my image of myself, if that makes sense?

Graceybaby · 26/04/2022 16:36

@Melusina123 I do the same! I have to take the odd cheapy pregnancy test now and again and I'm like huh, guess I am pregnant? haha.. I also get reminded when I really crave a glass of wine at the weekend and remember I can't.. I have just bought a o% bottle of rose.. so will see if that settles my craving.. I doubt it😂

I also felt like that with my first pregnancy.. I couldn't imagine myself being pregnant or having a bump.. it was strange.. and even when I was heavily pregnant, I never particularly 'felt' pregnant everyone would always say how big I was and I had a huge bump but it never felt like it too me.. only looking back at pictures do I see it 😅

I'm convinced im having another boy... feel exact same way I did with my son. Id be very surprised if its a girl! Time will tell 🥰

xx

Chanel05 · 26/04/2022 17:05

@Graceybaby I'm convinced I'm having another girl! I knew I was pregnant with a girl from the minute I got my bfp with my daughter.

CP22 · 26/04/2022 17:20

stuntbubbles · 26/04/2022 10:06

Ask for help! There’s no other medical condition where you’d throw up 4x a day and heave lots more times and think “Ah well, suffer through it”. Make sure when you go to the GP you give the total heaves; even if nothing came up – it’s all debilitating and it all counts and contributes to dehydration. Can’t hydrate while heaving!

Sorry you’re so vommy.

Thank you so much! I had a telephone appointment today and the GP was lovely, has prescribed some anti-sickness tablets so I’m on the way to pick them up now! 🤞

Mommabear20 · 26/04/2022 17:22

I keep having dreams of having another girl, and feel the same as when pregnant with my DD, but I'm convinced it's a boy 😂

PandaOrLion · 26/04/2022 17:26

@SweetMelody19 I heard the clear blues aren’t designed to be used after 6 weeks as they only show the dates to then due to the strength of the hormone.

lovesT · 26/04/2022 18:33

@Sera123 with my daughter my husband didn't come to the booking appointment, it was just loooaads of questions and blood tests anyway, this time it was over the phone. He came to both scans and will do this time but I don't think it's worth worrying about for the booking in appointment 😊

I'm honestly feeling pretty rubbish 😅 I'm super grateful as I'd be worried if my symptoms stopped but wow I feel like crap 😅 my daughter hasn't been easy either, such a bad night's sleep and lots of tears today, think it's teething!! I feel like you feel after you've been a bit travel sick in a cat and that hour or so afterwards you feel groggy until it goes away, apart from it doesn't go away 🤢🥴. Plus I'm just soooo tired!

Also, does anyone else at 8 weeks already feel like their jeans are a bit tight?? Especially if it's your second pregnancy?!

Graceybaby · 26/04/2022 18:35

@Chanel05 Oo exciting! Whats making you feel the same way this time?

@Mommabear20 Interesting! What makes you think it's a boy?

It's funny how we have these feelings of 'just knowing' I'm sure some of us will be completely wrong 😅 But I would be shocked if I'm having a girl.. Id be happy either way, it would be lovely to have one boy and one girl but I do also secretly hope it is another boy 🙈

cocoforbes · 26/04/2022 18:36

Hey everyone 👋

I've also got my scan on Thursday @KokoNights and struggle with kegels though I know I really need to do them as I have a super weak pelvic floor!

@5manc such great news!!

@Graceybaby I've also been super tired but not able to sleep. It's like as soon as my head touches the pillow I'm wide awake again. I've also been waking much earlier than usual and I normally don't remember any dreams but have remembered a few recently.

I'm 7 weeks today, first pregnancy, and not had nausea yet but I have been off a lot of food! Like others have said baked potatoes seem to be ok, I also bought loads of baked beans recently and cheddar cheese has serious appeal too! In a shop today and I saw a box of Weetos and just had to have them, had a bowl as soon as I got home. Guess we just listen to our bodies?!

I am also convinced I am having a boy! I'm thinking of getting the harmony test at 10 weeks which can also tell you the sex. Anyone else considering it?

embob993 · 26/04/2022 18:43

@PinkFizz1 thinking of you! ❤ I hope everything went OK for you today
