@Graceybaby I'm the same as you 5+3 and feeling no symptoms. I think i was the same with my (now) 4 year old too. Trying to pin point when i felt things change but feels like a very distant memory.

Mommabear20 · 25/04/2022 17:49

Just had a scan through a few days worth of posts!
Sorry to see there was a loss amongst us 😢

Not been a great weekend here. Lots of arguing with DH and DS is teething so he's super crabby and clingy which is making DH even more annoyed.

I've got my booking in appointment with my midwife tomorrow morning! Can't wait to see her face when I rock up again!! 😂 is the same one that I saw when pregnant with DD and DS 🤣🤣

Graceybaby · 25/04/2022 18:26

@rj11 Hopefully it stays that way for us!😅 My son is 4 too, Im also struggling to remember too much but I know it was quite an easy pregnancy, I had barely any nausea and was only sick once.. I never really 'felt' pregnant until i felt like I was carrying a bowling ball around everywhere with me 😅

Pinkfig · 25/04/2022 18:49

Evening ladies hope we are all well.

6 weeks tomorrow so I felt brave enough to make my booking appointment and book my first scan. I've also booked a private nipt and scan.

Started feeling nauseous and I can smell all the smells! 🤢

Hi @Pinkfig - I hope the booking appointment and scan go well.

Could I ask what has made you book the NIPT test please? I've been looking at this and the Harmony one, but can't decide whether they are worth it.

Thank you xxx

littlecontis · 25/04/2022 20:01

My scan is in a week and my anxiety level is through the roof 😓

BuchananBaby · 25/04/2022 20:28

@lovesT all I've ate is fish today 🙈😂 had a Prawn sandwich at 10:30 for "lunch" 😂 then craved scampi on the way home so that was dinner it was great I must admit 😁 I'm pretty sure I'll be asleep by half 9 tonight!

PandaOrLion · 25/04/2022 20:44

Finding the anxiety really tough, which is a surprise. I’m not a naturally anxious person and generally stable but was in tears with DH earlier worrying that I’m accidentally harming the embryo somehow. I’m wavering between watching anxiety-inducing tv (SAS stuff!!) or something very calming!

lovesT · 25/04/2022 20:45

@Buchananbaby I feel like I'm getting all my food inspiration from this thread, scampi sounds good 😂 pretty sure it was on here someone mentioned tuna and jacket potatoes! I had it this evening and it was lovely, I have 2 more so will enjoy them over the next couple of days. Oh 100%, I barely make it to 9 at the moment, not great for my assignment 😩 even with my afternoon nap today I'm ready for bed!!

stuntbubbles · 25/04/2022 21:43

Tuna is banned for me ever since the great morning sickness + Pret baguette incident of first pregnancy.

I’m currently living off crisps of all varieties, and trying to eat vegetables in the five-minute windows where the queasiness abates. All fruit is dead to me.

CP22 · 25/04/2022 21:53

Hi all

I’m finding myself struggling with sickness & constant nausea. Today I was sick 4 times throughout the day, and multiple other times just retching over the toilet. At what point is it ok to try and get something from the GP do you think? Should I just be putting up with it or is it reasonable to ask for help?

Going to Rome at the weekend and currently not looking forward to it! 😩

Sdoubleyou · 26/04/2022 01:37

I'm 7 weeks today and the nausea has not been too bad. Possibly because I've been sick the last few days with Covid, which is overshadowing a lot. The absence of sickness has worried me a little, but I've also noticed in the last bit that I feel quite queasy in the evenings and at night. So I've recently taken to leaving snacks on my nightstand so I can munch during the night if I wake up hungry. My DP thinks I am a total lunatic, especially after he found breadcrumbs in bed from one of my midnight snacks 😆. Has anyone else been doing this?

Orcarain · 26/04/2022 06:02

Hi everyone,
This is baby number 1 for me, due 13th December.

So far I’ve not had any symptoms, apart from severe bloating.

I’m also getting a weird tingling in my left pelvic area. Not sure if that’s a pregnancy thing or not.

Just feeling full of worry, but reading the earlier posts it looks like this is a great community.

BuchananBaby · 26/04/2022 08:04

@lovesT managed to stay up until 10:30 😯 although my daughter had me up at half 6 so I'll need to book a meeting later and have myself a nap 🙈

@Sdoubleyou the eating in bed made me giggle! DP has misophonia and I think he would be horrified to wake up to me crunching 😂 although he did laugh when he found a sandwich bag of ginger nuts in my car 😂

@CP22 definitely phone the Dr and get something no point suffering if you don't have to!

@stuntbubbles I lived off ready salted crisps for a few days when it got bad 🙈

@Orcarain congratulations 🥰 don't worry we're all nervous wrecks here!

PinkFizz1 · 26/04/2022 08:10

@LolaJ87 @lovesT Thanks both, I'm a nervous wreck today! The scan is at 5pm.. I swear there was logic to me booking it for that late in the day when I originally booked it! Now it just feels like weeks away!!

I really really hope I'll be able to update the thread with some good news later on, please keep everything crossed for me x

CP22 · 26/04/2022 08:22

@BuchananBaby Thanks, thought I might have been being dramatic 😂🤷‍♀️ But I’ve got a telephone appointment today now so fingers crossed!

@PinkFizz1 hope all goes ok today!

Tofu35 · 26/04/2022 08:36

Eek didn't go on MN much yesterday so trying to catch up now...

@lolaj87 agree with you about the smell from th fridge, it's too much!

@3monkeybars my husband and I had just found out we were at the top of the IVF list when i got my bfp too. So funny how some things work out.

@lovest growing pains! That's a good description of what's happening, and not "anxiety provoking random cramps" 😂 I'll start using that from now on.

Although in my last pregnancy I started crying into a baked potato and tuna because from me saying "oh yum that's great" and it being put on a plate, my food aversions kicked in (and hormones...crying because of baked potato texture is definitely hormones!).

lovesT · 26/04/2022 09:03

@Buchananbaby, I went to bed not long after 9 but didn't properly get to sleep till gone 11 because my daughter had a rubbish night 😩 very grateful that my husband got up with her so I could sleep until 8!

@Tofu35 yes growing pains! 😅 I haven't cried over good yet this time but last time I cried when I went off one of my favourite things (pesto pasta, couldn't finish it) and then cried when my husband hung out the washing and bought me beans on toast (happy tears) because he was being kind and beans in toast was just what I needed 😂😂 I should change my Mumsnet name to beans, I'm sure I've mentioned them a lot 😂

KokoNights · 26/04/2022 09:58

Hope all you lovely ladies are doing ok. I think half of the tiredness is from the constant anxiety. It's so hard not to interpret every symptom or absence of symptom as a sign something is going wrong.

It seems though a few of us are having their first scans this week @PinkFizz1 @F03t @Pinkfig - best of luck to you all. Mine is booked in for Thursday evening. At least then I have one working day before the weekend to mentally recover if it isn't good news.

I love the suggestion of baked potatoes. I think that shall be dinner today :)

Also - on crying over random things. My midwife suggested that I start doing kegel exercises as I'm very petite and it's meant to help with pushing the baby out. I cannot, for the life of me, work out how to properly do a kegel despite watching multiple youtube tutorials, and I was in tears last night! My partner was being super nice about it, but I'm sure he was completely bemused!

Ask for help! There’s no other medical condition where you’d throw up 4x a day and heave lots more times and think “Ah well, suffer through it”. Make sure when you go to the GP you give the total heaves; even if nothing came up – it’s all debilitating and it all counts and contributes to dehydration. Can’t hydrate while heaving!

Sorry you’re so vommy.
