@KokoNights i’m a teacher and back to school tomorrow - just as my symptoms (nausea & exhaustion mainly) seem to be ramping up. I live a ridiculous drive from my school so have to be out the house by 6.15am - genuinely don’t know how I’m going to survive the next 5 weeks until half term! Also not keen to tell my employers yet, especially as if they know before they write the timetable for next year I KNOW I’ll just get given all the dross classes for the autumn term!

Has anyone here who’s on their second (or third?!) managed to not tell their employers until c.20 weeks, or is it just naive optimism that I might be able to keep it hidden from them for that long?

Sounds similar to me - back to it tomorrow for the gruelling half term before exams and I feel awful!

I'm not sure when to tell work, part of me thinks giving my immediate boss a heads up might be better for the kids as I'll be missing at a pivotal time as a GCSE/A level teacher- but I'll also not be taking that long off as I'll be doing shared parental leave with my other half....

Tofu35 · 24/04/2022 16:38

I just had a quick try on of work clothes for tomorrow, we usually work from home but there's a big meeting in person on monday. Waaah. I feel a lot more bloated than I actually am, but it's just finding an outfit that feels comfortable that seems to be a challenge. Might be a dress and baggy cardigan combo!

Good luck @pulfy @kokonights for tomorrow! Do you get the bank holiday for the jubilee off? (Not that I'm counting when my next day off is...).

I’ve been awol since Friday because I’ve been as sick as a dog. I can’t believe catching up on the posts that so many of you are feeling the same way!

Had an awful headache, I’m apparently prone to motion sickness in the car now, I’ve been unable to sleep with the nausea etc. I can’t remember who asked for tips because I’m exhausted but I’ve found migraine cool strips some help, one on the forehead and one on the back of my neck.

I’ve gone off most healthy foods. All I want is toast, crackers, ready salted crisps, melon and cereal. Apparently it’s normal and ok at this stage.

Anyone else looking forward to this alleged second trimester glow up? 🙈

LolaJ87 · 24/04/2022 16:55

@BuchananBaby that is a beautiful clear scan! Looks amazing! Congrats, I’m so happy for you.

Graceybaby · 24/04/2022 18:14

@Tofu35 I look and feel so incredibly bloated too.. it feels so uncomfortable.. I'm already living in dresses or leggings!

@LolaJ87 sorry about the sickness! It sounds awful.. I haven't had any yet, keeping my fingers crossed it stays away! Still zero symptoms here just as I said feeling very bloated and tired a lot of time!

We took my son to a place called Blackberry Farm park today which had loads of animals and playparks etc and I am so exhausted, my body feels like I've ran a marathon.. I ache every where! Think I may have over done it.. but my lovely hubby to be has offered me a nice massage later so I'll be holding him to that! 😅

Anyone else struggling to sleep ATM? Or having disturb sleep? I feel exhausted going to bed then just can't sleep.. frustrating! xxx

littlecontis · 24/04/2022 18:37

@BuchananBaby yay to a lovely scan!! You must be so relieved!

I'm very lucky as I get to work from home until July at least.

I have also been so bloated!! Especially just before going to bed, my lovely OH has been rubbing my belly softly to help me let some gas out (I know...so attractive...) I've been been drinking a lot to avoid getting those horrible headaches.

Just over a week to go until our first scan, I am so nervous already!

DogsAndGin · 24/04/2022 18:43

Hi ladies, I’ve been quiet the last week as have been on hols. I was getting cramping at 4 and 5 weeks but nothing too concerning, now though, the cramps are horrendous! So so painful and lasting up to an hour 😢 I have an early scan booked for this Tuesday with the early pregnancy unit. Feeling very tearful, this can’t be good

watchingtheflowersgrow · 24/04/2022 18:46

Hi ladies, sorry to bring bad news to this thread but I had quite a lot of aches & pains in my tummy last night & throughout the night. Went to A&E first thing this morning & they sent me to the EPU. I was given an early scan but sadly found out the pregnancy isn’t viable so will not be going any further on your journey with you but I’m wishing you all the best!

DogsAndGin · 24/04/2022 18:57

Hi all, late to the december party but have just got a BFP at 4w5 unexpectedly really (spent all week waiting for AF!)...

Am due 28th Dec and its my first... am 37 though and had mc at 8 weeks 5yrs ago so am nervous as hell now!!! We have booked a private scan in at 6.5weeks - any experiences of seeing heartbeat that early anyone?

Only symptom at the moment is like a stitch type feeling lower right uterus and just felt bit spaced out last few days...

Hope this thread will encourage me as most will be few weeks ahead of me!! ❤

@LolaJ87 and @littlecontis it was so good to have a positive scan hopefully everything carries on as it should 🥰

Feeling like an awful mum today I have had absolutely no energy so spent the day on the couch napping and feeling sick we were supposed to take DD to the park but couldn't motivate myself to get up 😩 luckily DP is fab and done everything for her today but got serious mum guilt at the moment 😩* *

hopefulsunshine11 · 24/04/2022 21:01

Mumsnet hasn't let me post so just testing testing! ...

@watchingtheflowersgrow so sorry 😞

Sunshine92 · 24/04/2022 21:09

Hi all,
just jumping on as I’ve finally gotten round to confirming pregnancy with another test.
still early days - think I’m 4 + 4 and EDD of 28th December. This will be my 2nd baby :)

Thinking of booking an early scan - we did it last time and it was really reassuring!

Can someone add me to the Facebook group please? Joined one last time and it was great!x

lovesT · 24/04/2022 21:14

Apparently I can post from the website but now the app 🙄 very annoying. I'm in the Facebook group so that's great 😊 but have been reading through the posts, just haven't been able to post!

I had a lovely day with my daughter yesterday where we made cakes (sit down activities are great) and then went out to a new park with loads to do, felt fairly okayish yesterday but today not so good 😅. I do wonder if it's because I snacked more yesterday, but today I don't fancy anything again, even my favourite spaghetti Bolognese 😭.

I'm so so tired and have an assignment due (in French 😩) and my brain just isn't functioning so doing tiny bits and will hopefully get there.

12 weeks scan end of next month seems ages away!

8 weeks today so that feels good x

LC84 · 24/04/2022 21:22

@Sunshine92 We have the same due date ❤
