Hiya I was on the previous thread just jumping in-my due date is estimated 21st December! X

MariaDingbat · 22/04/2022 20:21

Just spotted the new thread, was thinking the old one was quiet! I'm due 7th Dec.

Teaandbiscuits22 · 22/04/2022 21:31

I'm glad it's not just me! It's strange because I never normally feel the cold. I'm due 21st December and starting to panic about Christmas!

baby2in2022 · 22/04/2022 21:46

@Teaandbiscuits22 I was really cold for a couple of days as well. I'm flitting between cold and hot. No happy medium. I think I'm due 21st as well. I'm tempted to get all my shopping done by September but that is not like me at all. X

baby2in2022 · 22/04/2022 21:49

@Sdoubleyou
Sorry to hear you're poorly. Hope you feel better soon. Must be an added worry for you but I'm sure baby is absolutely fine. Sounds like you're doing all you can to be as well as possible. Keep resting don't be rushing back to work xx

LolaJ87 · 22/04/2022 22:13

Bringing some nice news to the thread this evening.

My first scan went great! It was actually abdominal in the end but we got a lovely clear look at the baby, first thing I saw was a lovely strong flickering heartbeat.

I’m measuring about 4/5 days behind my LMP dates but I have short & irregular cycles so the doctor wasn’t worried, especially at this stage. They were in the right spot with a beautifully strong heartbeat (145bpm) ♥️ We are just over the moon.

Jj19 · 22/04/2022 22:17

Congrats @LolaJ87 I bet you’re feeling over the moon x

LolaJ87 · 22/04/2022 22:32

It feels properly real now! We are just so happy.

Wanderlust16 · 22/04/2022 22:47

@LolaJ87 congratulations! It’s great to read some positive news :)

buzz91 · 22/04/2022 23:07

@LolaJ87 congratulations!

Got my booking appointment organised with the midwife today for next month, all feels that bit more real now!

watchingtheflowersgrow · 22/04/2022 23:23

Congratulations @LolaJ87 . Have you heard that old wives tale - if the heartbeat is over 140 it’s a girl (was true for my dd & ds!) 😉

@PinkFizz1 so sorry to hear you’ve been worrying. I’m 39 so almost 40 too. We’ve booked the harmony test & that’s a scan & check from 10w4d so that could be reassuring if you’re worrying about waiting for your NHS scan.

Not much news from me. Still feeling a bit queasy & really only wanting quite plain foods. Nothing spicy & normally I love spice! Tender boobs that are way bigger already. How’s everyone else feeling?

FlowerJ · 22/04/2022 23:25

Hey everyone, just catching up as I've been off here for a few days! Not been very well, started with this cold/flu virus last week and then Wednesday whilst at work started with blood stained discharge, pain, cramping... turns out I have a bad water infection so now on antibiotics. I feel shocking but still barely any pregnancy symptoms ! It's seriously starting to put me about 😔 Midwife appt on Monday. Really hoping she will send me for an early scan to put my mind at ease.

Tofu35 · 23/04/2022 07:59

Aww @flowerj that sounds like a really tough time, fingers crossed you get the early scan. Are you feeling better after the virus?

@lolaj87 brilliant! Hope you're feeling over the moon with this!

@watchingtheflowersgrow ooh I've never heard that about the heartbeat speed before, learned something new before breakfast!

@MariaDingbat @hboz welcome back, although the speed we're going at, someone will need to create thread 3 soon!

How are we all doing today? Any Saturday plans? Ideally we'd be off to a garden centre today but need to wait and see how the nausea is this morning.

Hi everyone, hoping I can join. Currently 5 weeks today and due 24th! I’d be interested in joining the Facebook group please as i find them much easier to keep up with xx

baby2in2022 · 23/04/2022 08:31

@watchingtheflowersgrow I'd heard that. my sons was always around 145 though but then he's never done anything by the book lol

@FlowerJ that sounds awful. Get well soon

@Tofu35 it's a beautiful day here. I'm off to my friends for food. Thankfully still no nausea so can hide the pregnancy. Have a lovely day

PandaOrLion · 23/04/2022 08:44

When did others begin feeling sick? I’m 6 weeks today and haven’t yet, but the tiredness is unreal which I think makes me a bit unwell!!

BabyC22 · 23/04/2022 09:12

@Tofu35 we are off to a theme park with family. Not looking forward to it as can’t go on any rides and feeling crampy but need to pretend all is well as we’re not telling people yet. Hopefully nobody will question me not joining in 😬

baby2in2022 · 23/04/2022 09:19

@PandaOrLion hopefully you'll avoid the sickness. I'm 5w5 I feel slightly hungover when I first wake and if I go for too long without food but not really sick and as soon as I eat I'm fine. In my first pregnancy I was similar and at around 9 weeks I suddenly felt completely normal wouldn't have known I was pregnant.
I never got the pregnancy tiredness either and so far avoided it this time too xx

Nellynoo182 · 23/04/2022 09:46

Hi everyone!

Thought I would try joining the thread and navigating the world of Mumsnet as I will be a first time mum and have absolutely no idea what I’ve let myself in for 🤣

I think I am about 5 weeks pregnant but as I was on the mini pill and didn’t get periods before coming off contraception I have no idea what my cycle was like! Me and my husband decided to start trying and come off contraception on the 13th March. I have been really struggling with nausea (been sick a few times), sore boobs, fatigue, and my sense of smell is so sensitive and everything repulses me!

This is my first time being pregnant and I am so worried about anything happening that might result in miscarriage. Has anyone got any advice about how to help first time nerves? Is my dog okay to sit on my lap? She’s a little cockapoo and loves lying on my belly but I don’t know if that’s a good idea or I’m being silly…

SweetMelody19 · 23/04/2022 11:39

Hi everyone. I took a test on Thursday and have a faint positive(attached a pic). I had a miscarriage about two months ago and I'm scared and apprehensive to get excited! I think I'll be due around the 20th but not sure as my periods and cycles were never normal before with having pcos. Would love to join and see how everyone is getting on 😊 I think I'm only around 4 weeks and caught it very early.

Due December (thread 2) 👯
Tofu35 · 23/04/2022 11:39

@nellynoo182 hey! Food aversions and repulsions is the worst, hope you're finding things to have for meals. Best thing to do for nerves is to try and stick to NHS type websites if you have any questions. I am so bad for going onto Dr Google for any question but forgetting that some of the websites that say they have the answer are random lifestyle blogs. Trusted medical advice only!

Also have a grumble on here, we're all in this together. It's a mix of first, second and third timers, and I think fourth timers too?

My cat loves sitting on my lap, but I'm trying to stop him sitting directly on my stomach, but at this point (I'm 7wks) the baby is as small as a raspberry, so it's probably not doing to cause any harm!

@PandaOrLion First pregnancy I was fine til seven weeks, then vomited 24/7 til 26 weeks. This pregnancy I’m only 4 weeks but already gagging - improves if I eat constantly so bang goes my healthy nine months again. First time round I lived off hula hoops and McDonald’s; nothing else stayed down.

BuchananBaby · 23/04/2022 12:00

Hope you're all having a fab Saturday the sun is splitting the sky here DP is about to watch the football so I'll maybe have a wee nap as DD is still at her grans 😁

Went for our private scan today and baby was looking fab with a strong heartbeat! I'm 8+4 EDD now 29/11
