@Tyla525 Welcome and congratulations! Sorry to hear about your miscarriages, wishing you a sticky baby! I'm in Surrey, not far from Crawley!

littlecontis · 21/04/2022 10:53

@RSmamaa @Mommabear20 I couldn't post any messages yesterday and it seemed like I was blocked! Had to log out and log back on. I know they were doing some updates to the system overnight a couple of days ago and I guess it remained patchy!

AfterBathingAtBaxters · 21/04/2022 12:00

@Graceybaby My first scan is also at 8 weeks on 14th May! This will be a long wait for us 😅

Hi Everyone, I am enjoying reading all of our experiences. I haven’t felt as exhausted as I have since this week. I know it may sound odd but I feel a bit on my own at the moment as only my husband knows. I’m also not too sure when I should feel super excited. Could be my hormones. How is everyone else? I’m in Manchester so had to self refer, haven’t heard anything back yet.

I've self-referred too, and yet to hear back - they said it could take up to 28 days. It almost doesn't feel real for now, hopefully it will once I hear something back.

Nobody except me and my boyfriend know, been living in a nice little bubble for a few weeks, especially with having the easter holidays off work, though I'm not sure it'll stay secret for long once I return if I feel anything like I do today 🤢

Graceybaby · 21/04/2022 13:02

@AfterBathingAtBaxters How exciting! I know, it seems like a very long wait.. I was tempted to book it for 7 weeks but then I knew I'd be waiting forever again for my 12 week scan so thought I'd go somewhere in the middle! I booked the earliest one I could at 9.30 so I weren't waiting around all day haha x

littlecontis · 21/04/2022 13:06

@AfterBathingAtBaxters @Graceybaby I've just booked my first scan for when I am 8+4 on 2 May! Not that long to go but feels like forever!

pinkunicorns54 · 21/04/2022 13:07

@Tyla525 I'm very close to Crawley too in West Sussex! Yay! Glad to have some close people this time - I was so jealous of my first baby's group when they were meeting up and everyone was too far from me!

@littlecontis - yay to another close one!

Namechanged to join this thread as my previous user name was when pregnant with my son following a MMC. The anxiety was through the roof then. I'm just over 5 weeks so very early days here. No sore boobs at all but I did read that if you had it first time arund you might not get it at all on another pregnancy. Also only completed weaning from breastfeeding 4 weeks ago so that might also be making a difference. Only really "symptoms" I have are occassional dizziness and mild cramping off and on. Had a whopper of a headache a couple of days go that ran through the night. I do recall something similar happening when I was about 5 weeks with my son too. He's 17 months and is a lively little thing. His sleep has never been amazing, but we seem to be going through Leap 10 of the Wonder Weeks (if you believe in that stuff), so there are loooooooong wake periods in the middle of the night. He wont settle in our bed either so thats not an option. DH and I have to take it in turns sitting in a chair in his room with him. Obviously not ideal at the moment and Im already dreading proper nausea kicking in. I was pregnant with my son during the first lockdown so had ample opportunity to sit on the couch all day feeling sorry for myself. Not an option now with a boisterous toddler. 😫

Winnie2022 · 21/04/2022 13:41

@Noodle87 also so glad I am off ay the moment as don’t think I could function at school. 28 days feels a long time doesn’t it.

It really does! I know it sounds silly, but I'm really nervous about telling anybody about it until somebody qualified has confirmed it's actually happening in case I've made it all up (and the tests have lied) 🙈

siobhanmt247 · 21/04/2022 13:52

I'm up near Doncaster but used to live in Crawley. Stay down there in hotels quite often for work

Winnie2022 · 21/04/2022 14:32

@Noodle87 I am equally scared that when someone’s says it is real I will be even more like OH MY GOD. Think my hormones are all over the place.

cocoforbes · 21/04/2022 14:41

I'm in London, so close to some of you in the South East too!

I've been quite quiet on this thread but I've been finding it really good to read about everyone's experiences so far! I'm 6+2 today which is a couple of days further than I have ever got after 2 previous early miscarriages. Got a scan at the EPU next Thursday! Just trying to stay positive and take each day as it comes!

Fingers crossed for us all 🤞

I'm not sure that it can be any more of a shock to me than the original positive test was - I was so convinced it would be negative that I let my other half look first and then he was like 'erm, what does this mean?'🙈 and I couldn't speak for a while (VERY unlike me!)

Laughingmole · 21/04/2022 15:08

@Noodle87 I feel exactly like that! That they are going to find out I’m a fraud and there’s no real baby there! But I think I’ve taken about 10 tests and they all say positive so can’t all be wrong!
Had my booking appointment yesterday and they took my bloods, I’m still half expecting them to call and say I’ve made it up!
Got my private scan April 30th so I might believe it then!

I'm in West Yorks so not too far!

Totally understand the nervousness of telling people @Noodle87! How far along are you now?

I'm meant to be at a very boozy hen do this Sat (think strippers & £100pp behind the bar already) - have been debating about it and decided I'll tell one of the friends who is going tonight to hopefully be an ally & help come up with an excuse to leave early & not drink. Hoping its an OK thing to do - feeling nervous!

Saying that, I'm 6+2 today (hopefully) and all my symptoms seem to have gone - first day of no tiredness, no sore boobs, from covid or pregnancy! And now I'm worries about not feeling unwell 😅

stuntbubbles · 21/04/2022 16:00

I had to tell work today even though I’m barely 4 weeks; the intense nausea got too much. Working from bed with a sick bowl already, I’m sure I had a longer grace period in first pregnancy than this before the horrors began.

@Graceybaby @Tyla525 I’m in London but we’ve just sold and planning to be back in Sussex as soon as we can find a house - we were in Brighton pre-pandemic and hoping to land in Eastbourne… some time in the next 9 months I guess!

I'm West Yorkshire too (Bradford)! And I'm 6+6 going on the nhs due date calculator.

Until the last two days I've just been tired and sore boobs, but I've been sick at 11 on the dot yesterday and today. At least if the time stays the same it'll be at break time at work....

Graceybaby · 21/04/2022 16:27

@stuntbubbles Ooo I feel for you, it must be horrible 🙈 I never suffered with nausea with my last pregnancy or this one (yet!) It sounds horrific. Hope it eases for you soon!

Ah so maybe a fellow Eastbourner soon!! Hope you find a house soon and all goes well 🙂

Does anyone think sickness in pregnancy is sex of baby related? Everyone used to tell me when I was pregnant with my son I didn't have nausea because i was having a boy.. don't think it's true though! Xxx

BuchananBaby · 21/04/2022 16:51

Just checking in been in the office for the first time in 2 years today and it's been rather strange! Midwife phoned and my booking appointment is on Thursday 🥳 didn't even have to chase it up!

Still at work for another hour so I'll catch up on the chat on the train 🥰

baby2in2022 · 21/04/2022 17:07

@Graceybaby I had a little bit of nausea in my pregnancy with my son but I was never sick and as long as I ate often I was pretty much fine.

My two friends both had two boys. They were really sick in one pregnancy and then fine in the other. So don't think it really indicates the sex.

Seems to be more common in girl pregnancies though xx

Tofu35 · 21/04/2022 17:13

I don't know what the equivalent of a disco nap is in the first trimester, but just had one of those this afternoon. Put myself on a "telephone meeting" in the calendar, and grabbed an hour nap. Touch wood, nausea feels a bit better after it!

What's for dinner tonight everyone? Feeling very uninspired recently.

I’m in Coventry but currently away with work and in Essex so much nearer to some of you. I’ll also be in Woodbridge next weekend visiting friends which is fun.

I’ve got an appointment with the consultant on wed who I’m under for other gynae stuff (fibroids and historic ovarian cancer) but not sure if he’s aware I’m pregnant - I’ve self referred to his hospital but seeing my midwife on Thurs (at my GP not the hospital). It’s going to be busy!

lots of cramping here and I convinced myself I was having an ectopic yesterday but nothing except sore boobs today so think I was wound up over nothing 😂

baby2in2022 · 21/04/2022 17:56

@Tofu35
I love that idea for a nap night have to try it out.
Pasta bake here tonight. Nothing exciting. Enjoyed it though. I found it so hard to make meals last time as there was nothing I fancied but so far so good with this one x

PinkFizz1 · 21/04/2022 18:04

@Tofu35 just lasagne and chips (and salad/coleslaw for me) tonight. It’s a pre made one from our local farm shop because I’ve lost ALL motivation for cooking these days!

I’m 6+4 and still no sickness 🤷🏻‍♀️ Or real symptoms apart from sore boobs and tiredness.
