When can we use baby brain as an excuse for things? I just left my phone in morrisons 😬🙈

BuchananBaby · 19/04/2022 19:10

@lovesT and @RSmamaa thank you so much! I'll absolutely be picking your brains! It's the only regret I have with my daughter was not trying but it was definitely the right choice considering I was clueless 🙈 feel a bit more confident now 😂

@FlowerJ I'm glad it can happen 🙈😂 it's weird how you find yourself worrying about everything at this point 😂😂

I've decided to get a new car absolutely hate mine so I'm using the new baby as an excuse 🙈 only thing is it's 6 months to get a new one built and I don't know if I'll last 6 months in that car without abandoning it somewhere 😂

BuchananBaby · 19/04/2022 19:10

@embob993 right now! My baby brain has been awful the last week 😂

lovesT · 19/04/2022 19:30

@Buchananbaby do I remember right that you're in Scotland? I can't remember which part if you are but there are quite a few Breastfeeding Network meet ups around which you might find helpful! They have a Facebook page and might have some local things to you x

baby2in2022 · 19/04/2022 19:48

I've changed my name from @whilstwewait it was the name I used when trying to conceive my son and just doesn't seem right anymore

@Gofortea congrats. I could never keep it a secret for that long fair play to you

BuchananBaby · 19/04/2022 19:58

@lovesT I am I'm in North Lanarkshire I'm hoping the breastfeeding support is good because I found the maternity services appalling in my area. There were no classes running either in person or virtually and was told to join a fb group by my midwife which was just a mum group tbh 😩

lovesT · 19/04/2022 20:04

@Buchananbaby that's rubbish! I hope you can find some support, definitely look at the Breastfeeding Network but also online things like La Lèche League. The Breastfeeding Network around here has walks and meet ups quite often which I'll go to with baby even just to meet others in the same boat x

Jj19 · 19/04/2022 20:14
@Jj19 I'm testing everyday with cheapies! It gives me a level of comfort. What was the stark difference that you had previously? Did you see it get darker and then lighter over time?
Not massively darker but enough to settle my nerves. Going to to a CBD tomorrow and hoping to get 2-3 weeks as I’m 4+2

RSmamaa · 19/04/2022 20:58

@BuchananBaby there is so much help out there for you. My advice is lots of research whilst pregnant to imprint it into your brain how to get them to latch and all the different kinds of positions there are. Get a nursing pillow too and a breast pump as on sore days you can pump and bottle feed it. Your hospital will also have an infant feeding team where if requested will watch you feed baby and give you advice on latch etc if you struggle. It gets muccch easier after the first few weeks. My son had tongue tie and it was cut when he was 4 weeks old. The pain was bad for 2 weeks after but then no more pain and he fed so well after.

MiaSparkle · 19/04/2022 21:23

Again I have been sick 🤢this is now 5 times today! I just feel like it will never stop🤧 I have spoke to my GP but they said I need to message into the live chats but with those you don't get a response up till 2 days. Absolutely horrible this is

BuchananBaby · 19/04/2022 21:45

@RSmamaa thank you that makes me feel so much better 🥰 I've been looking at a Pippeta pump as the reviews are fab I'm hoping to introduce an expressed bottle at a couple of weeks all going well 🤞

Aww @MiaSparkle that sounds awful! Could you ask to speak to the practice nurse at your GP? Either that or try 111 for advice they may be able to get you an out of hours appointment to get a prescription for something

LolaJ87 · 19/04/2022 21:53

Hello lovelies, I’m just dropping a quick note. I read the lovely news from @lovesT and @embob993 last night and I’m so happy for you both.

I’m having a big struggle with fatigue/mood swings/brain fog and just a bit all over the place. Hope everyone is ok and I’ll drop back in when my head is less fuzzy!

KittyKat1989 · 19/04/2022 22:02

@MiaSparkle I’m sorry to hear you are having such a rough time. I hope it eases soon, and it will be so worth it in December Smile

Sdoubleyou · 19/04/2022 22:35

So I've recently discovered that it's possible to be both absolutely full and starving all at once 🤷‍♀️.

Noodle87 · 19/04/2022 23:16

I've been really tired the last few days, and I haven't even done much. I'm really lucky that it's Easter (another teacher), and so I've had some time off to get used to the idea of being pregnant, but I'm dreading going back next week! And I'm already worrying about letting work know as the timing isn't exactly great 🙁

Jj19 · 20/04/2022 07:03

Phew…my frer lines have gotten considerably darker since I last tested on Sunday. Plus I’m now 2-3 weeks on CBD which makes me feel so much better. I never got past 1-2 weeks with my loss at 7 weeks. A slight bit of relief for now…

Due December (thread 2) 👯
TradedAtlanta · 20/04/2022 07:12

Morning everyone. I tested positive last Thursday - I have long and irregular cycles so not too sure of my due date. The NHS calculator that takes cycle length into account reckons 23rd December. Eek! A Christmas baby. I'm already feeling guilty about missing/spoiling Christmas for my DD who will be 3 when this baby arrives. Sleeping badly already needing to wee loads in the night. I know I should be excited to be pregnant with this very much wanted and tried for baby, but now I'm actually pregnant I just keep dreading doing the whole newborn phase again!

Graceybaby · 20/04/2022 07:17

@LolaJ87 feeling the same! Just a bit all over the place atm.. very emotional and tired all the time.. feeling quite alone in it all tbh, my OH is fantastic but struggling still.

Booked a scan for 8 weeks yesterday so hoping that will help x

LolaJ87 · 20/04/2022 07:24

@Graceybaby yes! It’s a very lonely feeling. You can share how you’re feeling but it doesn’t convey how overwhelming and all encompassing it is. I felt myself getting really irritable on Monday and purposely removed myself from company because I didn’t want to snap at someone (especially my husband) and then burst into tears 🙈 it’s quite horrible to feel this out of control/not myself. It’s so isolating. I hope this passes for us both soon.

I’m 8 weeks on Saturday, have my scan on Friday. I was really excited but now I just can’t wait for it to be done, so I can see everything is ok.

@Seajelly4life

I'm around the same stage as you and also symptomless. I occasionally have sore boobs but then I think maybe I'm imagining them.
At this stage with my son I was the same. It's hard to not get anxious though. Especially after a loss.

I don't really have much discharge at all. I remember when I was last pregnant it was the same. Everyone used to go on about increased discharge in pregnancy but it never happened to me.

I don't think yours sounds concerning at all though. Unless bright red they say not to worry and even then it can often be fine.

Laughingmole · 20/04/2022 10:37

I just had a phone call from the midwife and she’s fitted me in for my 8 week appointment this afternoon 🙂 so glad that things are finally happening that make it seem real!

lovesT · 20/04/2022 10:38

@Seajelly4life welcome 😊 I've had the same, I can't remember if it was the same last pregnancy (my daughter) but I think it was, I had an early scan due to brown discharge on Tuesday and all was okay. If it's not brown it's similar to what you describe (brown has gone now thankfully!). I don't think that sounds worrying but everything is at this stage especially if you've had a loss! I hope you're okay. Worth asking for reassurance though x

lovesT · 20/04/2022 10:39

Is anyone else suddenly really hungry? Partly because it helps me not to feel nauseous but also just feel more hungry today! Already had some leftover pasta and dairylee on crackers (and some Easter chocolate) ... I'm 7+3 today
