@BabyC22 I am due 20th and also will have 2 under 2. How old is DC1?

@Krista1991 I have a 13 month old so not much difference. He will be 21 months when this one is born

@chengez I am also worried about hiding it. I'm not a big drinker but usually have one if everyone else does and if I decline they are all like why??? We want to keep it secret until 16-20 weeks so hoping my bump stays small also 😆. I also feel so so tired. I start work tomorrow and not sure how I'll cope. I'm 5 weeks exactly and only know it's going to get worse over the next few weeks lol

Tofu35 · 19/04/2022 14:57

@MrsCrumbtious I've told my mum and sister, but they were coming over and I felt like I needed to not pretend to be okay, and have a good whinge about feeling rubbish! Still haven't told the in-laws (mainly because they're a 40 min drive and I'm really nauseous just now). Wish my husband would just let me tell them over Skype or facetime (a nice filter on, if possible)

@RSmamaa he’s 10 months. How do you think your little boy will be having a baby sibling?

Wanderlust16 · 19/04/2022 15:02

We have decided to keep ours relatively secret but have chosen to tell our parents as they have walked alongside us while we’ve struggled to conceive. Incase anything happens we think it’ll be easier to have them in for the whole pregnancy!

caulkheaded · 19/04/2022 15:06

A friend guessed today, which is hilarious as I’m only 5 weeks! We aren’t telling people though, although DHs family know we’re trying.

bbno2 · 19/04/2022 15:11

I was feeling marginally better today than I have done, so just eaten a pot noodle as I really fancied it and now feel grim again!! Can't win!

@BuchananBaby - re: babies that sleep... our DD is 5 and still does not sleep through the night. She was a terror to wean and is still the fussiest eater. Was a generally happy baby though during the day but screamed all night for two years.

Also just been to the GP to register as we moved, and asked them how I get referred to midwife services. Turns out I have to self refer now so just done that - but turned around in the queue to find one of my neighbours right behind me - so I'm sure the whole street will know I'm expecting by 4pm! Shock

So I am figuring that this baby cannot possibly be a worse sleeper can they?? Hoping that i've had my "tricky" baby already!!

BuchananBaby · 19/04/2022 15:23

@bbno2 I'm terrified of that 🙈 my DD was formula fed and I've heard they can be better sleepers but I'm going to give breastfeeding a go this time if I can 🤞 with DD I had never changed a nappy so was way out my depth with feeding 😂 my neighbours probably know too with the amount of frer and clearblue boxes that went in the recycling a few weeks ago 🙈😂

PinkFizz1 · 19/04/2022 15:26

So I’ve just contacted the place that’s doing my early scan and they’ve said they only do abdominal scans. Which is now making me even more anxious as I know transvaginal ones are clearer and easier to pick up! I also am not a skinny Minnie so I’m worried just an abdominal one won’t pick things up clearly enough Sad

bbno2 · 19/04/2022 15:33

@BuchananBaby - my DD was bottlefed too! God knows how bad she'd have been with breast!
I am hoping to breastfeed this time. I tried last time and failed and felt guilty about it for a very long time (even though I know there is nothing to feel guilty about!).

@PinkFizz1 - my understanding is if your bladder is full you will be most likely fine with the abdominal scan.

Speaking of which, I am dreading having to fill my bladder for the 12 week scan. I have a crap bladder capacity and pelvic floor now after last pregnancy.

RSmamaa · 19/04/2022 15:51

@BabyC22 I'm not sure. He is so loving and calm but I know how much they can change 😆

RSmamaa · 19/04/2022 15:55

Regarding the breast feeding talk. I breastfed for 10 months but at 4 months old I decided to introduce a bottle for bed time and he still woke multiple times a night for a feed until he was 9 months. Even on 3 meals, 2 formula feeds, and 4 breast feeds he still woke. Every baby is different and it definitely doesn't matter if they are breast or bottle fed. With breast I admit they use it for comfort which may look like they feed back to sleep if they wake for other reasons but in my experience he would suckle for 5 mins and be asleep - it definitely was not a full feed. I'll be breast feeding this time too hopefully, top tip from me is to master feeding lying down so you can rest for the whole feed. Sometimes I'd be feeding for an hour and that rest was sooooo good

Whilstwewait · 19/04/2022 16:36

@MrsCrumbtious we have told immediate family. We did with my little boy as well. That was mainly because we’d been trying for so long that everyone was invested in it. This time it was such a shock and I was so scared of being judged about having another so soon we got it out the way. Everyone was so happy for us and it made me feel better. I wouldn’t get away with no drinking either because I love a prosecco

@PinkFizz1 how many weeks are you? I know early scans can often cause anxiety as not much can be seen and people panic whereas in fact everything is fine and it’s just too early. To be fair they shouldn’t allow you to book an abdominal scan too early. I went to window to the womb with my son and before 10 weeks they do an internal. I was just under 10 weeks and they tried abdomen first and found him no problem.

lovesT · 19/04/2022 16:40

With all the talk of having a full bladder for scans it's definitely good advice but don't do what I did 😅 I forgot about drinking before so panicked and drank loads before and was in so much pain before the scan as I was so full that I had to go into a dark dindgy bar to use their loo as the scan place wasn't open and I was busting 😂 so I let a bit out and then the lady did part of the scan and told me to go again because my bladder was TOO FULL 😅. She was laughing at me because she made me go twice to get a better picture.

@PinkFizz1 don't worry, you're similar to me aren't you? With a full bladder she got a good picture at just 7+1. It sounds like you can get a good enough picture around this time x

lovesT · 19/04/2022 16:44

Also anyone thinking of breastfeeding, I'm still breastfeeding my daughter at 2y2m. Yes she still wakes through the night but I've always found feeding her the quickest way to get her back to sleep, especially as I can lie down doing it! We also co sleep most of the time which made things easier. Of course it's up to you how you feed your baby but to me having to get up to make bottles seems more work so I couldn't be bothered 😅 also, remember you milk won't come in for a few days after giving birth and that's normal! Very happy to answer any questions about breastfeeding if anyone is curious and hasn't done it before. For me it has been a good experience so I'm happy to share xx

PinkFizz1 · 19/04/2022 17:08

@bbno2 thank you!

@Whilstwewait I’ll be 7+2 when I go for the scan!

@lovesT ah I didn’t know yours was abdominal. I’ll be 7+2 when I go so fingers crossed they’ll be able to see clearly!

MiaSparkle · 19/04/2022 17:09

I don't think this is normal at this point. Now the 4th time of being sick. 🤢 anyone else being like this ?

lovesT · 19/04/2022 17:15

@PinkFizz1 yes it was 😊 and we saw heartbeat very obviously so I'm sure you'll be okay! Just go with a full bladder (but not about to burst 😅)

@MiaSparkle some women suffer really badlyz I would contact your GP or midwife, could be hyperemesis gravidarum? There is treatment I'm pretty sure. Look after yourself x

Nejnej · 19/04/2022 17:18

@bbno2 I'm already doing pelvic floor exercises, desperate not to have issues after pregnancy! Squeezy app is great

Whilstwewait · 19/04/2022 17:19

@lovesT I was the same as you haha. I was so full and in so much pain that I couldn’t wait for the scan to be over. The next scan I drank less and was still really full I got sent to empty my bladder. I think with me I drank so much anyway during the day I didn’t really need the pint before.

@PinkFizz1 sounds like you should be ok then with your dates

@MiaSparkle you poor thing. Ring your gp. Sickness like yours can be normal but doesn’t mean you have to suffer they can help with medication xx

Sunshine92 · 19/04/2022 17:36

Hi,
I got my BFP today - second baby.
Well, I think I got my BFP today. I’ve been exhausted since the middle of last week. Had what I think was an implantation bleed on Friday (pink blood small amount for one wipe).
Did a clear blue test today and it was invalid. Did another cheapie and after 3 minutes it was negative, then after 5 mins there was a faint line which I thought was an indent line.

Just done another test now as something didn’t feel right earlier and this is what I got…looked like that after 2 minutes (took the photo after about 10 mins though as I was shocked).

Hopefully I’ll be joining the club! No tests left, so I’ll get some more tomorrow!

If I am joining I’ll be due on 28th December!

RSmamaa · 19/04/2022 17:40

@lovesT I also found the thought of getting up and making a bottle a hassle 😂. When he was in our room I would just scoop him up from the next to me and then sleep with him in the bed the rest of the night. If I woke up I would usually transfer

lovesT · 19/04/2022 17:46

@RSmamaa yes we wound that so much easier! We've had her cot attached to our bed for a long time and bed shared (safely, anyone reading this look up safe sleep 7!) and it have us so much more sleep. We've moved and she has her own room and has decided to sleep in there so she spends the first half of the night at least there then I bring her in if she wakes more than once 😊 I'm sure we'll do the same with next baby.

On another note I felt sick this morning then have eaten quite a bit today and been fine then as soon as I'm a bit hungry I feel a bit sick again! Off to eat something haha

RSmamaa · 19/04/2022 17:51

@lovesT that's exactly what we did. We started giving a bottle in the night as I was struugling with latch and he doesn't feed off me anymore 😢. He sleeps through now thankfully. I thought we would never get there!!

I also feel sick when hungry. I don't even feel hungry but if I don't snack or eat regular it creeps up

FlowerJ · 19/04/2022 17:57

@BuchananBaby I worry about this too! My DD slept through from 6 weeks old and everyone told me #2 wouldn't be the same. DS also went onto sleep through from 5 months old! (So it can happen 😛) but I feel my luck definitely has to be up with #3 and its a worry lol
I also worried about sleep and BF babies but DS was BF until 19 months and slept through 😀

@MrsCrumbtious Feeling like a fraud here too. 8+2 today and barely any symptoms, no nausea, boobs just feel heavy, peeing a bit more and that's it. We are keeping it a secret, only told 2 friends so far. Told no family so far!

Gofortea · 19/04/2022 18:07
