@PinkFizz1 either Crosshouse midwife led unit or a home birth. I had my daughter in England at a birth center (completely midwife led) in the pool and it was amazing so I'm tempted by a home birth or if not something similar to before.

It's so hard not to worry, totally normal though as you can see from this thread 😅. I hope everything keeps going well for you x

BuchananBaby · 18/04/2022 21:24

Anyone who's already got kids are you worried about the length of this labour? My daughter was born 3.5hrs from waters being broken and heard your second is half the time! I'm terrified of giving birth on the bathroom floor 🙈

Jj19 · 18/04/2022 21:27

Anyone else still doing tests/a bit obsessed with line progressions? There was such a stark difference in my tests with my mc and my tests with my son. I’m only 4+1 so early days but I cant go a day without testing (internet cheapies and the occasional frer). I know I wouldn’t but can’t stop 😂🥴

lovesT · 18/04/2022 21:37

@Buchananbaby I'm hoping for a quick one 😅 maybe not too quick but I don't want to have to be away from my daughter for too long which is partly why a home birth is appealing. My daughter was 13 hours from first contractions to being born (waters we're broken by midwife a couple of hours before she was born). My friend recently had her second, both were at home but this one came in about half an hour 😳 they had sent childcare home and had to ring them to come back and baby was already born!! Her first was playing in the garden totally oblivious 😅.

Sounds like yours are quick! Just make sure someone is on call and nearby!

FlowerJ · 18/04/2022 21:44
@flowerj my due date is 27th November now 😊 its crazy how they can work it out from a scan measurement! I'll probably carry after that though as both of our side have had late baby births and were both tall (more growing required) xx
I meant to say Nov group in my last post.. I'm blaming baby brain already! Tbh if they tell me my date is end of Nov and not 1st Dec I think I'd prefer to stay in this group anyway as I feel its highly likely I'll go over!

In my DS September baby group about 90% of the ladies all had their babies in August and even though I was due 16th Sept I was literally the last to give birth in the group.. it sucked 😂 Everyone was loving their tiny newborns and then there's was me sat waiting looking like a whale 😂

BuchananBaby · 18/04/2022 21:56

@lovesT oh god 30 mins 😳 13 hrs is pretty good from first contraction! I went in with a small bleed and was told I was 3cm but no contractions until they broke my waters 2 days later 🙈 I think I'd quite like a home birth but dp isn't keep, think he's scared I'll ruin the nice new couch 🙈😂😂

FlowerJ · 18/04/2022 22:08
@Melusina123 I chose my closest hospital with my dd, despite the fact maternity services were rated "inadequate". Huge mistake. I've changed hospitals this time!
This worries me too. My closest hospital has just been downgraded to 'inadequate' and now I don't know what to do. I had my 2 other babies there, labour/delivery was fine but the ward care was poor. My OH doesn't drive so I worry about choosing a hospital further away 🥴

Hello.
I think I can definitely stay in December group 👏🏻🙈😄🙏🏻

Hey , hope it's ok to join this thread . I am new to all of this, I already have two children and never did anything like this. This time I thought I would try something different.
Hope everyone is well.

PinkFizz1 · 19/04/2022 06:42

@lovesT I don’t think I’ll go for crosshouse, I’m a bit more familiar with the RAH so it’ll probably be there. Sore boobs was the only constant symptom I’ve had (6+2) and this morning they’re not as sore… so now I’m doing the usual worrying… this happened to you before your scan didn’t it? I need to use you as inspiration I think! Hopefully next week we can see our baby on the screen and everything will be okay…. 🤞🏼

littlecontis · 19/04/2022 07:01

@Jj19 I'm testing everyday with cheapies! It gives me a level of comfort. What was the stark difference that you had previously? Did you see it get darker and then lighter over time?

littlecontis · 19/04/2022 07:01

Such wonderful news @lovesT ♥️ so happy for you!!

RoseGold24 · 19/04/2022 08:00

Welcome and congratulations @Krista1991 ☺️

watchingtheflowersgrow · 19/04/2022 08:01

@embob993 & @lovesT fantastic news! Glad you’re staying in our group @embob993.

@MiaSparkle I’m in exactly the same situation as you because I’m starting a new job on 25th. I’m worried about the mat pay situation now… will need to check this once I’m home (staying w family atm).

We took my 2 dc to the farm yesterday & there were signs everywhere saying pregnant women should not touch or feed goats or sheep. Apparently it can be dangerous. We had the cuddle an amimal part of it & I could cuddle a piglet but not a baby goat!

@Melusina123 I would say journey time is a consideration as when you’re in labour you won’t want to travel too far I would imagine, bearing in mind you’ll b in labour. And getting the baby home afterwards.

Graceybaby · 19/04/2022 08:19

Been a bit quiet on this thread atm, think it's still sinking in that I'm pregnant and I have barely any symptoms which makes it feel even stranger! We had decided that I would stop taking my pill and we'd let mother nature take the lead, before I'd even had a natural period I found out I was pregnant so I was a little shocked as I didn't expect it would happen so fast! 🙈

This is baby no.2 for me and baby no.1 for my OH, I have been dealing with some mum guilt in terms of my son from my previous relationship who's now 5, I wonder how he will take it mummy having another baby and the last thing I want for him to be confused at all (me and his dad have 50/50 shared parenting so his not with me full time unfortunately) My son and my OH have a fantastic relationship so I have no worries about that side of it.

Any one else in a similar situation, having baby no.2+ in a new relationship?

xxxx

BabyC22 · 19/04/2022 08:19

Morning All,

Hope it’s okay to join. I’m 5+1 and due 19th Dec with baby#2. I’m equal parts excited and terrified to have two under two.

Looking forward to getting to know you all and having your support 😊

PinkFizz1 · 19/04/2022 08:23

@Graceybaby I don’t have another so sorry to jump on your post but I’m interested in your lack of symptoms! I’m 6+2 and sore boobs are the only real consistent symptom I have. Maybe a bit tired and sensitive to smell but tbh I thought (maybe naively? It’s my first!) that I’d have all the sickness and roughness at this point. So just interested in how far along you are and if your lack of symptoms is something you’re concerned about? (Just trying to put my mind at ease I think!!) x

lovesT · 19/04/2022 08:24

@PinkFizz1 yes my nausea calmed down and then when I got up to feed my daughter at night my boobs felt hardly sore at all! I was convinced ... But they came back the next morning. Nausea hasn't been as bad since it started but comes in waves when I'm hungry and in the morning. I was worried that it had calmed down but now I've seen baby with a heartbeat I'm just grateful it's not as bad as it was. Completely understand the worry though x

BabyC22 · 19/04/2022 08:50

@PinkFizz1 if it helps I had none of the “normal” symptoms when I was pregnant with my DS. Apart from being more tired than usual I felt pretty much normal. He’s perfectly happy and healthy so I think it’s just luck of the draw and nothing to worry about!

Haxeri · 19/04/2022 09:15

7 weeks today! Finally feels real enough to contact the midwives (living in Sweden right now and they have a different system than the uk) and now I have my first appointment tomorrow!

F03t · 19/04/2022 09:42

If my dates are latest they could be, I’ll be 6 weeks today. Did another cheap test this morning and the positive line came up quickly but is lighter than the one last week (11/04). I’ve also had covid the last few days and a loss of the other pregnancy symptoms (sore boobs, cramps, tiredness) so feeling worried! Has anyone else had tests getting lighter and/or less symptoms?

Whilstwewait · 19/04/2022 09:50

@babyc22 I’m exactly the same as you. My son will be 19 months when this little one arrives. I’m due around 19th December as well. My son took 14 months to conceive and this baby was a massive surprise. We did plan to try soon with it taking so long for my son but was expecting it to take a while. I’m just in shock at the moment still. I don’t feel pregnant at all which makes it worse but then I don’t want to feel symptoms either with having to look after my son. How old will your son be? xx

Krista1991 · 19/04/2022 09:58

Good morning.

I have a 7 month old baby girl and just recently found out I am pregnant 🤰🏼

Is anyone else here with a baby and pregnant?
A bit scared how everything will be when the baby will be born,a very small age gap 🙈

Tofu35 · 19/04/2022 10:00

Good morning everyone. The struggle was real this morning, almost had a cry into my cereal when halfway through I suddenly became repulsed by the idea of a bowl of milk. Serious respect to anyone here who is struggling with nausea while having to parent one or more children!

How are we all doing today?
