Ladies can I ask what tops you’re wearing with your leggings? I’m lucky in that I can wear casual clothes to work but also a bit self conscious so don’t want to just be wearing baggy t’s that make me look like I’m wondering about in my housework clothes.

OtiMama · 29/05/2022 08:35

@Cocobeau I wear maternity dresses, although I had them over from last pregnancy and they look fine with small bump and later on. I have a bump earlier this time. Just feels slightly smarter but if I'm less bothered I have some maternity tops from new look too.

Sorry some of you are getting headaches, I also used to get them at work earlier on, it is tough.
Been home a week, my son got a sickness bug, he was fine after a day but 72 hours later I got it and was very sick, only for a day but really took it out of me and have spent the last couple of days trying to feel more normal again. I can't wait to go out and do normal things again. I'm way behind with work stuff as well and being a shorter working week coming up, I will have to do lots.

No real cravings here, will be interested to see if I get any. Last time ice was my only one. My husband found it so annoying as I crunched on it all the time.

NotAdultingToday · 29/05/2022 08:45

@Cocobeau i have a work tunic that im wearing at the moment, but when it doesnt fit anymore i just have black maternity tops to wear (our uniform is black but they dont supply maternity uniforms)

@OtiMama oh bless you! Are you feeling any better now?

FishyBaby · 29/05/2022 12:12

Nice to meet some due date twins @Cocobeau and @NotAdultingToday and glad to know you are thinking the same about the bump/podge Coco, hopefully will round out a bit soon!

Thanks @Pamctake2 for the advice about this stage of second trimester not being the cute bump - a few of my friends are also pregnant right now, but they are about 4/8weeks ahead of me so have definitely rounded out more and I can't help but be jealous of something that looks like "Yes they're definitely pregnant" rather than "Have they eaten too many pies?". I know everyone is different and it's unrealistic to expect the same type of bump as them particularly at this point!

xreadytoglow · 29/05/2022 15:27

@Cocobeau I usually wear button up shirts. Then I'll put some boots on with a bit of a heel so I feel a bit more dressed up!
My wardrobe at the moment is: scrubs (work), stretchy dresses, leggings + shirt/hoody/jumper. That's it 😂

2in2022 · 30/05/2022 08:39

Haven’t been on for a while so lots to catch up on.
With regards to cravings, I don’t really have any but I have got a massive aversion to meat. I can’t even look at it on my plate let alone eat it. I’m struggling to cook it for my DS & DH too. Is anyone else having this? I’m going to mention it to midwife next week as I’m probably not getting the recommended amount of protein now.

Momz3 · 30/05/2022 11:29

Hi any guess boy or girl??
this scan was from 13 weeks and 5 days

sarahj878 · 30/05/2022 16:59

@2in2022 I had this early on and still have it to an extent with certain meats. I can stomach it if it’s a McDonald’s chicken burger (healthy I know lol) or contained in something like a Cornish pasty (again I’m being really healthy lol) but if it’s meat on a plate or I’m cooking it myself it turns my stomach. Would much rather eat fish at the moment, could you stomach that?

sarahj878 · 30/05/2022 17:00

@Momz3I think girl when I look at that pic but I have no idea why! What do you think you’re having?

2in2022 · 30/05/2022 17:31

@sarahj878 yes sorry meant to say I can eat fish no problem at all but I just feel like It’s getting a bit repetitive so I’m getting fed up lol.
Ah yes I know what you mean, I have managed a chicken Kiev tonight (with you on the healthy stuff haha) but chunked meat, even in a curry just turns my stomach x

Momz3 · 30/05/2022 17:35

i Have no idea! Im feeling girl but my symptoms are the same as my boys which was only nausea, with my girls I have morning sickness! Im usually good at predicting but this one has thrown me off.

sarahj878 · 30/05/2022 17:49

@2in2022 I’m exactly the same on chunks of meat. I make a curry with leftover chicken from a roast sometimes and I shred the chicken really finely, maybe you could try something like that? I also love snacking on edamame beans, I think they’re a good source of protein and any beans come to think of it so might make a break from fish? I do a 5 bean curry which sounds awful but is actually quite nice if you fancy the recipe!

sarahj878 · 30/05/2022 17:51

@Momz3 aw this one’s keeping you guessing then! I’ve got similar symptoms I had with my son but also some new ones and different cravings this time around

Momz3 · 30/05/2022 18:28

Yes for sure 😄. I have pretty much same symptoms as my boys which is eating everything apart from chicken. I can not even look at chicken! The scan picture showing no obvious sign to say yes boy! I can’t figure out the nub or even what I’m seeing!

SonicHg · 31/05/2022 17:53

I’m 15+1 today and have had leaky tits for the past week.

AbbiL0u · 31/05/2022 20:13

Oh no @SonicHg! How are you feeling other than that?

How is everyone doing? I have started to get very achey! Hip and back pain have woke me up the last few nights, I think I need to work on sleeping in a better position!

roobearbaby · 31/05/2022 20:32

@abbil0u. My whole hip, groin, sciatic and stomach muscles are all feeling really achy! Trying a warm bath to help soothe it all!

jordini · 01/06/2022 01:25

Can I be added to the list please? 25th November.

15 weeks on Friday and I’ve just done a £200 order on asos…all maternity clothes😯normal jeans a bit too tight these days.

VolcanicProtectorMan · 01/06/2022 13:29

Anyone else just so over being pregnant already? I know it sounds so bad because ofc I want the baby and I realise I am lucky to carry my own child, but omggg. The nausea, the insomnia, the constant weeing, everything hurts, and the past few mornings I’ve woken up with stomach pain that could perhaps be indigestion as it’s high up by my ribs. Could just be that I have a toddler as well this time round, but I am struggling with it! I’m only 15+4 so still got so long to go!

Bramblecrumble21 · 02/06/2022 06:54

Morning all. I do feel achey but no painful night waking. I'm glad I have two weeks off work as, my work is more screens and sedentary than last pregnancy. I do walk to the further away toilet for excersise. I've blown up my excesise ball and I find that great for stretching out my pelvic muscles. I do need to do more regular yoga. Baths great too. I'm 17+4 and, bump is distinguishable to touch when lying on my back, although moves a lot from left to right. No convincing movements, my maybe ones could easily have been bowel.

@VolcanicProtectorMan it's a very long 9 months, I winced when someone said it will fly by till your holding baby. That's not been my experience.

Maybe it's bad, and not maternal, but my most positive emotions after giving birth first time, weren't how beautiful my baby is, and nice to meet her, they were getting out of bed, feeling I could move and bend comftabley and have room to eat without reflux and indigestion.

Cocobeau · 02/06/2022 08:10

Oh god, sorry some of you are having such a tough time of it. After a rough 4-14ish weeks, at 15+6 today I realised I actually felt normal for the first time yesterday - although than in itself is stupidly unnerving because it makes your mind go to all sorts of negative places. It’s reassuring to see those a couple of weeks ahead of me not feeling movements or bumps quite yet. Hope you all get some let up on your symptoms at least a little!

ChasingRainbows22 · 02/06/2022 09:31

@roobearbaby @AbbiL0u omg same on the pain, what's that about. My lower back is really sore, I thought it was cramps at first but realised it's movement related.

ChasingRainbows22 · 02/06/2022 09:34

@Bramblecrumble21 what kind of yoga do you do? I used to love it but my regular classes aren't suitable as there's so much twisting and lying on your stomach.

I was swimming quite regularly but just read breaststroke could be causing pelvic pain and I'm not fit enough to do front crawl solidly 😂

Bramblecrumble21 · 02/06/2022 11:04

@ChasingRainbows22 I don't do regular structured excersise. I found some yoga videos on YouTube recently, my 3yo loves doing it. There's a local pregnancy yoga class, but I've not taken the plunge as I have a variable work schedule and can't commit to a regular time/day. I do want to do a trial class.

ChasingRainbows22 · 02/06/2022 12:14

@Bramblecrumble21 thanks, I'll have a Google. There's pregnancy yoga classes near me too, I'm my first pregnancy I naively went along at about 5 weeks only to find everyone else was about to burst and it was super gentle 😂 I think I'll wait a few more months this time
