@W1ngingit

Thank you all for the info and good wishes!

@Yutes and @RhiRhi1988 sounds like you've both had a bumpy ride with covid. Hope you're fully recovered. I understand the anxiety that you both feel. I have also had a miscarriage so super anxious. The good thing is all that I've read suggests that if we are going to get it, now is the best time - early on.

@RhiRhi1988 Cramping is very normal. I had the most awful cramps - like period cramps all the way up to 7.5 wks. And even today (I'm now 9+1) I had cramping. Try not to worry too much! I also fell pregnant with my DD (now 3) straight after my miscarriage without a period in between. It can increase the anxiety but there's no reason why it's more risky as a pregnancy.

@HRHFandango thank you! I hope to god it doesn't get that bad! That sounds awful! Hope you are over the worst though.

Thanks for the words of encouragement @W1ngingit praying everything will be ok.

@LS1983 sorry to hear you didn’t get the news you were hoping for. There is still hope though, so keeping my fingers crossed for you.

OtiMama · 05/04/2022 21:13

Sorry to hear some of you had tough appointments. Not what you need.

I think in terms of what seems like an early bump it can just be bloating. I was like this with my first and again now, it isn't the same as when the actual bump comes up!

I had my booking appointment today, due to having the coil out end of January they aren't 100% sure on my dates and want me to have a scan soon as don't want to miss the 12 weeks. She said they may not have time to get a letter out and may ring, so I am guessing it will be within the next week. I am expecting to be less than 12 weeks and to need another in a few more weeks but who knows!

FlowerJ · 06/04/2022 08:34

@tigger2022 I'm so sorry to hear you had an awful first experience. I would complain! I know from previous experience I barely ever saw the same midwife twice so fingers crossed you won't come across her again!

@GabsK92 I've definitely got a bit of bloat going on. Especially in the evenings.

6+3 today and symptoms are just the same. Boob soreness has definitely improved so just left with increased peeing, hunger, bloating in the evening and some cramping on/off.

We still have only told 2 people lol

tigger2022 · 06/04/2022 09:57

@sarahj878 basically she was really judgemental over the fact I was having a baby as a single mother. She kept asking what my parents were going to think. I was never worried about that before, but I am now 😭 I’m booked in another area she doesn’t cover, so when I go to them I might just lie about the father to be honest.

sarahj878 · 06/04/2022 10:20

@tigger2022 that’s terrible of her! I would honestly tell the other midwife you are seeing about how she made you feel and wouldn’t lie at all about the father. They should be making you feel your best, not leaving you feeling like this. There’s no reason at all for you to lie Flowers

FlowerJ · 06/04/2022 10:29

@tigger2022 That is awful! You most definitely don't need to lie about the father, I'd just be open and honest about how that other midwife made you feel. They aren't all like that I promise. She makes it sound like you're the only single mother out there, there are thousands of single mothers, all who do an amazing job! My mum was one of them, she did pregnancy alone. Don't let her dull your sparkle, being a single mum is seriously a super power! I'm in awe of you all x

Cheetocat · 06/04/2022 13:19

Doing extensive blood tests and a urine test tomorrow, I really dislike the thought of bringing a container of wee outdoors with me on a Thursday morning.
The bleeding I've had is easing up which is wonderful. In A&E they told me to use the progesterone until the bleeding stops, I think I'll try going without it tonight if I have no blood loss today and see how I go.
The thirst I'm having is still another level, I feel like a newborn cluster feeding on my water bottle. Grin

Nice to be here, as I am just 6 weeks plus. November, here we come.

Unix · 06/04/2022 17:38

This is my 4th pregnancy, but I understand why I am showing already at 6 weeks. Is this really normal? Everyone around me already suspects am pregnant

sarahj878 · 06/04/2022 18:05

Does anyone else feel really stressed out/snappy? Am really snappy today and I don’t mean to be Hmm

Kathno4 · 06/04/2022 18:26

@sarahj878 not as snappy today, just felt strange since Saturday, constantly sick, dizzy, loss of appetite, constant sore boobs and cried maybe a 100 times since Saturday 😪

On a brighter note, I heard babies heart beat on home Doppler for the first time yesterday 🥰 bought it during my second pregnancy so glad I kept it xx

AbbiL0u · 06/04/2022 18:37

@sarahj878 My mood is very up and down, I have been feeling really impatient and annoyed for no reason too! I have put it down to the hormones…

2in2022 · 06/04/2022 18:57

Has anyone experienced family & friends outright asking them yet? How do you deal with it?
No one ever asked me with me first but already I’ve had my husbands aunt ask me outright at a function as I ordered a Coke instead of an alcoholic drink. And then after a whinge to a group of friends about feeling emotional about some changes at work, one of them text me saying “are you pregnant”.
It’s so infuriating because I don’t want to lie but I’m also really annoyed at them as if I haven’t told them I am then I’m clearly not ready for them to know.

sarahj878 · 06/04/2022 20:33

@Kathno4 aw that’s lovely! How many weeks are you? I was wondering about buying a Doppler. I’ve got sore boobs too, on and off nausea and dizziness, exhaustion and cried at loads!

sarahj878 · 06/04/2022 20:34

@AbbiL0u good to know I’m not alone!

sarahj878 · 06/04/2022 20:36

@2in2022 sorry to hear you’ve had questions fired at you! I’ve not had that although I think partly it’s because I’m blaming my tiredness on having had covid recently. Tonight however I went out for dinner and discreetly asked if the cheese was pasteurised only for the waiter to bellow at the kitchen staff to find out in the middle of a packed restaurant. Pretty sure the only reason someone would be asking that would be because they were pregnant

NotAdultingToday · 06/04/2022 20:42

@tigger2022 i had a horrible first appointment with my midwife with my son. She made me cry and really upset my husband (cant remember what it was about!) she was the only midwife so i couldnt change. I complained to my doctor and he said try one more appointment and if i was still unhappy hed take over as many of them as he could. Luckily she behaved herself and i had no issue the rest of my pregnancy. I really feel for you its horrible to be made to feel like that but at least you can move not all of them are horrible!

I still havent heard anything about booking appointments or scans i was kind of in limbo as i changed surgeries just as i got pregnant. But its been over a week since its all been sorted i just want some acknowledgement of being pregnant does that make sense?
If it wasnt for the constant nausea and very sore books and about 20 positive pregnancy tests i would swear im imagining it all! 😂

tigger2022 · 06/04/2022 20:52

Excited my booking appointments and scans are booked :)

I am going out of area for the hospital so hopefully I don’t have to see that midwife often. She’s the community midwife for the whole area.

I’m a bit worried though. I have a private scan on Friday because I ate a poisoned Kinder egg. Hope little one is OK and forgives me!

arianasky · 06/04/2022 21:05

@tigger2022 wow how awful of that midwife to say that and make you feel so down! 😡

AbbiL0u · 06/04/2022 21:22

@tigger2022 sounds like an awful experience for something that should be nice, really hope you’re okay and it isn’t the same in the future!! Oh no about the egg, my partner told me about it and to ask if I had had any too - really hope all okay and you get good news at your scan, hopefully yours wasn’t affected! Who knew this pregnancy lark could be so stressful?!!

I cannot stop eating - I feel sick but also hungry constantly and at the same time, it’s very odd. I also feel really bloated, but no surprise when all I do is eat and snack all day! Anyone the same? My motivation to be healthy also declines throughout the day and I end up with chocolate!

Kathno4 · 06/04/2022 21:34

@sarahj878 midwife put me at 10 weeks yesterday, I’d definitely say give it a go, but also not to be so tough on yourself if you don’t find heartbeat straight away. I found them later on with my last 2

Kathno4 · 06/04/2022 21:36

@sarahj878 how far are you? And what number pregnancy, sorry can’t keep up with previous messages to see if you mentioned 🥲

Bramblecrumble21 · 06/04/2022 22:02

Abbilu I'm the same with food. Although I really enjoy healthy foods more even now I'm pregnant so have made myself a salad. Although, I've eaten lots of junk.. I haven't had much sickness but when I have felt nauseas it's when it's been a while since eating so I'm eating to avoid that. Also, some days my tummy rubbles but I don't actually feel hungry in my head but feel better when I eat if that makes sense.

sarahj878 · 06/04/2022 22:24

@Kathno4 I have a son, and had a lot of scans with him throughout. I’m 7 weeks at the weekend. With my son I was lucky that the midwife used a Doppler really early on, think I was about 9/10 weeks at the time. I don’t know if having a Doppler at home would help chill me out or whether I wouldn’t be able to use it properly and stress me out!

rickandmorts · 06/04/2022 22:24

Blimey I'm panicking that you guys are all a lot more organised than me?? From the NHS calculator I'm nearly 9 weeks. Not had a booking in appt or early scan or anything. I filled in a form on that pregnancy notes website the other day and I'm waiting to hear back. It was a massive shock to get a positive test last week so I'm still trying to get over that and randomly keep bursting into tears but my DH is being great and supportive. Only thing I've noticed is a bit of tiredness and I can't drink coffee anymore 🤮
