@sarahj878 Thank you x

W1ngingit · 04/04/2022 17:13

Hi all, hope everyone is doing okay. Quick question for those who've had covid since finding out they were pregnant. How did you get on? Was it awful? I got a positive covid test for the first time yesterday. I've had all three vaccinations so hoping not to suffer too badly, but the breathlessness is disturbing! I know that the evidence shows that it is not very dangerous to mum or baby in early pregnancy, so I guess it's better getting it now than later on. Apparently after 28 weeks it can be very serious. Anyway, just hoping to get some reassuring (or not so) info x

Yutes · 04/04/2022 17:18

I have covid now @W1ngingit and I’m around 8 weeks. Only had two jabs but breathlessness hasn’t been one of my symptoms at all. Feeling horrendous otherwise, and I’ve been pretty anxious as I’m PAL with a silent miscarriage. Had to reschedule my booking in appointment and everything.

Keep your fever down. Take paracetamol and drink plenty. Plenty of naps too

sarahj878 · 04/04/2022 17:29

@W1ngingit @Yutes hope you both feel better soon. I had it a couple of weeks ago and it wasn’t nice, felt very congested (still do slightly), had bad headaches and a cough. Can’t say felt breathless thankfully but did feel like I had no energy and like I couldn’t breathe deeply without coughing. Keep an eye on temperature throughout and take paracetamol to keep it down!

HRHFandango · 04/04/2022 17:37

I'm just getting over covid now and it's not been a pleasant experience, unsurprisingly. Tested positive for covid towards the middle of last week and symptoms included hacking cough, cold and terrible sickness. I thought the sickness was mostly morning sickness but its died down considerably with the other symptoms so hoping baby is still OK in there (7.5weeks).
I vomited so forcefully last night that I burst blood vessels around my eyes and look like I've taken a beating (sorry for too much information).
Hoping you don't get anywhere near as bad symptoms.
Hoping to book an early scan in a week or two to check all is OK after covid.

RhiRhi1988 · 04/04/2022 18:39

I’m 10 days into covid. And I’ve felt terrible. Had a really wet mucous cough, lots of sticky phlegm in my throat and up my nose, no energy and quite dizzy. Still testing positive, but it’s fading now finally, I felt my worst on day 8. Back to work today but it’s really took it out of me.
I’ve been worried of having covid as my pregnancy follows a MMC in Feb, I didn’t have a period since. So it was hard to date and I had falling HCG at the beginning. Was told it was failing or ectopic. Luckily we could see something in the uterus just before my covid began, otherwise the stress of ectopic and covid would have been too much.

Anyways I’ve had a lot more cramping today that felt like my previous MC. So trying to be positive, but worried also.
I’ve not had a full pregnancy before so no idea if this cramping is bad, or not, but just know it as similar to my MMC.

Cheetocat · 04/04/2022 18:41

I wish you all speedy recoveries, it must be so hard to be ill AND pregnant!

Get well soon everyone!

@RhiRhi1988 Hopefully nothing to worry about. Get yourself checked over as soon as you can to put your mind at ease. Get well soon x

Kathno4 · 04/04/2022 19:18

@Cheetocat , I’m on fluoxetine and quetiepine told my midwife today and also been on them previous two pregnancies I will not come off them no matter what they’ve saved my life . I hope you find something suitable xx

RhiRhi1988 · 04/04/2022 21:48

@LS1983 thank you. Hopefully it’s nothing to worry about.

Good luck with your scan tomorrow. Fingers crossed x

W1ngingit · 04/04/2022 22:04

Thank you all for the info and good wishes!

@Yutes and @RhiRhi1988 sounds like you've both had a bumpy ride with covid. Hope you're fully recovered. I understand the anxiety that you both feel. I have also had a miscarriage so super anxious. The good thing is all that I've read suggests that if we are going to get it, now is the best time - early on.

@RhiRhi1988 Cramping is very normal. I had the most awful cramps - like period cramps all the way up to 7.5 wks. And even today (I'm now 9+1) I had cramping. Try not to worry too much! I also fell pregnant with my DD (now 3) straight after my miscarriage without a period in between. It can increase the anxiety but there's no reason why it's more risky as a pregnancy.

@HRHFandango thank you! I hope to god it doesn't get that bad! That sounds awful! Hope you are over the worst though.

@Cheetocat

9 weeks today, I can't believe I'll be in the second trimester so soon!
Exciting! But week 9 marks the start of the 3rd month which is even more exciting! Congratulations on being 3 months pregnant 🥰
Natalie2304 · 05/04/2022 10:21

@LS1983 how has your scan gone? Got everything crossed for you ❤️

AbbiL0u · 05/04/2022 10:23

@Cheetocat I am 9 weeks today too, it feels so exciting to reach a new week! Double figures this time next week! :D

FlowerJ · 05/04/2022 10:48

So sorry to read so many of you Mamas either have terrible sickness or covid! I hope you all feel better soon ❤

@Kathno4 Yep we've been discussing the snip here too 😂 Glad you are getting somewhere and have had your booking in appt. Fingers crossed you get a scan date soon!

@Cheetocat Yey for reaching 9 weeks! I hope you are resting and not cleaning up after your OH!

@sarahj878 I'm already trying to guess, it will kill me having to wait to find out gender. Like you said, I've previously found out because I've felt like it's helped me prepare for baby's arrival and helped with bonding too.

@LS1983 How did you get on this morning ? I've been thinking about you and hoping all is good.

LS1983 · 05/04/2022 10:49

@Natalie2304 I am no further forward. Measuring roughly 6 weeks instead of 7 and too small to see any heartbeat. I've to wait a week for another scan to see if there has been growth and a heartbeat is there or I've miscarried. Devastated. Literally going to spend the next week in my bed 😭💔

Lou2022 · 05/04/2022 10:52

Hey can someone post the Facebook link please?

Cheetocat · 05/04/2022 10:57

@Natalie2304 I didn't even realise that meant I was in the third month! So exciting!

@abbiL0u I know! We'll be so much further along before we know it!

@flowerJ Don't worry, we had a very serious chat about what he expects of me and I think he understands how I'm feeling a bit better.

OP posts:
FlowerJ · 05/04/2022 11:16

@LS1983 I'm so sorry it didn't go as planned, Don't lose hope though, sounds like baby is just too small to see the heartbeat atm. Fingers crossed you will see it next week when you go and everything will be fine ❤

@Cheetocat I'm so pleased you've had a chat about it. Sometimes I think partners just don't understand how early pregnancy makes us feel x

Cocobeau · 05/04/2022 11:23

I feel so awful for those of you suffering with such bad sickness. I just have the constant nausea and even that today is just too much for me. I'm miserable. I'm also finding it really hard to justify why I'm being such a miserable bastard to people because I can't tell them why, and I can't keep telling them I don't feel well because it doesn't people long to guess.

Cheetocat · 05/04/2022 11:31

I've already told my Mum, sister, nephew, MIL, FIL, two SIL and one friend. I really need the support. I almost told even more people multiple times.

OP posts:
tigger2022 · 05/04/2022 11:32

@Cocobeau that's exactly it, you can't tell people why you feel so ill all the time... I think everyone at work is getting annoyed with me!

It's my first midwife appointment this afternoon, not sure what to expect!

DizzySquirrel90 · 05/04/2022 11:36

Sorry to jump on the thread, I thought it was the thread I was part of last year -

@LS1983 I had brown spotting very early on, along with cramping. My baby is currently having a nap on my lap.

Early scans aren't very reassuring as the measurements are literally minimal so loads of room for error! I really hope you get a positive outcome.

Good luck all!

Casper94 · 05/04/2022 11:39

@ls1983 thinking of you, I know there's nothing that any of us can say to make you feel better but just remember at the moment your baby is okay in there and just measuring a bit small - all could still be well 💞💞
