So I know this is super super early, but I wanted to start a thread going for us ladies with December due dates. I had a mc during my first pregnancy in January so I'm nervous about everything, but also excited! I'm 4 weeks pregnant Sunday and my test lines have been fairly strong 🙏 I have a sensitive sense of smell and my nipples are sore (but I'm embracing every symptom I get!)

Hi all! Please can I join?! Got my BFP last week which puts me at 4 weeks 1 day pregnant (I think!!) Feel very anxious and currently wishing the days away til I can go for a private early scan! Had a very straightforward pregnancy with my DD which you’d think would make me feel more confident but actually it’s making me feel like what are the chances of being so lucky again…. Ahhh it’s gonna be a long few weeks!

Haxeri · 30/03/2022 16:11

Hey, can I join too? Im also 4+1, and feeling sick already but surely that's psychosomatic!

Stargazer89 · 30/03/2022 16:18

hi everyone, can i join too. i am on the late november/ early december thread but think i'm due 5th/6th December. however, I had misscarrisge in November and again last month so feeling quite anxious.

lottie222 · 30/03/2022 16:25

Hi @ceho88 and @Haxeri I'm sorry @Stargazer89 I've had a few chemicals so I am feeling very anxious too. I'm barely sleeping and just feel so stressed. I need to try and manage it better but its just terrifying everytime I go to the loo Sad

embob993 · 30/03/2022 16:47

It's nice to know that it's the norm to have anxiety about the whole thing. I've had a wobble today because I finally got hold of the midwives and they said its very early and should ring back at the earliest on Sunday (my 5 week point) for an 8 week booking appointment. For some reason it made me realise how early I really is and I got in a bad mindset. First thing I did was come home and do a strip test which of course is still positive and I still have the same symptoms (sore boobs, mega sense of smell)! Just want the next few weeks to hurry up so I can hear a heartbeat on an early scan 🙈 it was only 8 weeks that I had the mc and never made it to the first midwife appointment so it's soo scary. You ladies and this forum keep me going as otherwise feels such a lonely process at this stage! ❤

Hi ladies. I'm pleased to hear that I'm not alone in feeling anxious, but sorry that you are all feeling the same. It feels like it should be a really exciting time and we should be enjoying it, but it feels reckless to get carried away and think more than a day or two ahead.

I've had some twinges this afternoon, some of which are quite painful, which isn't helping my worry!

My DH did say something reassuring last night - statistically, it is far more likely that this goes well than it is that something will go wrong. I'm trying to hold on to that thought!

embob993 · 30/03/2022 17:24

@kittykat1989 that's a very lovely thought! Thankyou 🥰 I agree, we're supporting eachother through this difficult first trimester and will be celebrating with eachother while we count down to our due dates!

That's very true @KittyKat1989, definitely a good thought to hold on to!

I'm still getting lots of cramping/bloating.... How long do you suppose that will last? I'm already a bit over it and it's only been 2-3 weeks! God, how am I gonna deal with an entire 9 months worth of feeling rubbish!?? 🤣

I was just going to comment saying my cramps have eased off but then I've just stood up to go check the oven and had a nasty twinge on standing up 🙈 I think I'd prefer nausea to the cramps 🤣 although I definitely won't say that if/when I get morning sickness

@embob993 where I'm from you can't register for the midwife until you're 6 weeks which is annoying and I don't think they do your booking appointment until 10 weeks. I think I'll actually hold off and phone when I'm 7 weeks

Totally get the anxiety I mc at 5 weeks in Jan and I'm 5 weeks tomorrow so ofcourse I done the last pregnancy test in the house to see if there's an indication it will happen again tomorrow. Constantly on edge at the moment, hopefully get through the next few weeks until I get an 8 week scan 🤞

Nejnej · 30/03/2022 19:40

Ooo no @embob993 - I felt nauseous for about an hour this morning (think it was something I ate combined with anxiety rather than actual pregnancy symptoms) but it really sucked!

Oh wow! I should think myself lucky then, that seems forever away doesn't it 😔

Bless you, I completely get where you're at. But, we're pregnant and there's nothing to suggest for us to worry otherwise. Lets think positive!

@embob993 I love that thought - I couldn’t ask for anything more than being pregnant right now, so will focus on that rather than what might go wrong.

Good night ladies x

Stargazer89 · 31/03/2022 07:27

Aghhhh i had stomach ache last night and now that's worried me sick. Trying to stay positive though.

I'm also thinking about booking an early scan so that I can have something to focus on.

Are any of you telling people your news yet?

Nejnej · 31/03/2022 08:21

@Stargazer89
I've told one friend who recently gave birth (so is an excellent source of advice) and my supervisor at work (in case I start struggling with symptoms, and there's a few accommodations needed because I work in healthcare).
We're planning on telling parents nearer to 8 week mark when we are seeing them Smile

We've told his parents as we're both close with them. My parents don't speak to us, and haven't answered the phone the several times we rung them, so we'll see when they find out 🙈 Other than that, we're telling 2 couple sets of very close friends but that's it until the scan. X
Sera123 · 31/03/2022 11:35

I just spoke to my GP for the first time and she mentioned they don't typically do the 12-week dating scans, unless you've got complications/or are high risk for something. Instead they just do the 20-week scan!

That seems so late!

I know you can go do private scans but from a quick Google of private scans they sound like they're a bit unregulated and may not even tell you if something's wrong, which sort of defeats the whole point of having them surely?

Anyone who's been through this before know how this usually works? 😕

December22NewMomma · 31/03/2022 11:52

Just had my BFP a day before AF due. Couldn’t believe it after trying and failing for a few months. Can’t quite believe it. Due on 10th December.
Congrats all - how is everyone feeling so far?

I really hope this isn't true 😭 We've been looking forward to the 12 week scan. Self referred to the midwives, and got told they won't contact us till 8-10weeks or so, and will also book in 12 week scan some point from 10 weeks. But I'm hoping that all goes ahead 🙊
Norberta · 31/03/2022 12:06

Hi @Sera123 not having a scan until 20 weeks seems very late I agree! I’ve never heard of that before. I’ve had private scans and it was there that identified my missed miscarriage so from my personal experience I found them worthwhile but I couldn’t comment on the regulation. Personally I’m going to have another private at 8 weeks this time as that’s when I found out I’d lost my first so will find it reassuring.

BuchananBaby · 31/03/2022 12:13

@Sera123 I honestly don't think your GP knows what's she's on about if I'm honest. I know all trusts are different but 12 and 20 week scans need to be done. At the 12 week scan they do the combined scan and blood to look for chromosomal abnormalities - you have a choice in this I believe. I would get the community mw to confirm when you have your booking appointment.

Congratulations @December22NewMomma ❤️

Hi ladies! Thought i'd jump on here too. I'm 22 and just found out i'm 4 weeks pregnant. I graduated from Uni last summer and have a really good grad job currently - I am doing my first exams in July and second exams in April (2023) to get qualified (not going to disclose my job / profession but I have to pass these exams to get qualified). I've been with my partner for around 18 months and we both have stable jobs. He still lives at home, and I rent with my uni pals still. I honestly do not know what to do... part of me thinks we'll figure it out and we'll be ok but the other part of me things what am I doing thinking all will be fine... I am still so young and just figuring out my career, would I be stupid to take a break and have a baby? DP is unsure too due to financial reasons.. where we live it is super expensive to rent, and we were looking to buy together next year anyway. Rented isn't something we'd be too keen to do but I can hardly bring a newborn baby back to his family home and keep his mum and sister up... help!!

TheFantastic7 · 31/03/2022 13:01

Can I please join!? Going by LMP my due date will be 8th December! I’m too nervous to get excited yet because I unfortunately MC’d last July and Oct, but I never got a positive digital the last times so feeling hopeful x

Due December 2022 ❤👶

I think in your situation it’s certainly not impossible to have this baby, but only you can decide if that is what you really want. Is abortion something you have considered? Whichever choice you make, make sure it’s you who makes that choice and no one else, sending love x
Haxeri · 31/03/2022 13:09

I told my sister, I wouldn't tell anyone that early but she's a neonatal doctor so she's always my go to for medical things!
