So I know this is super super early, but I wanted to start a thread going for us ladies with December due dates. I had a mc during my first pregnancy in January so I'm nervous about everything, but also excited! I'm 4 weeks pregnant Sunday and my test lines have been fairly strong 🙏 I have a sensitive sense of smell and my nipples are sore (but I'm embracing every symptom I get!)

@Meowcat89 mine is an evening one (5pm) - I don't know how I'll last the wait that day! I'll have my fingers crossed for you that morning.

@Tofu35 We've told our parents, siblings and a handful of very close friends. I know things could still go wrong, but we would want their support then anyway.

DogsAndGin · 12/04/2022 15:37

@Tofu35 I’ve told my mum, but DH has told his friends, boss and his whole family HmmConfused

PinkFizz1 · 12/04/2022 15:58

@Tofu35 we’ve told our parents and a few close friends. I’ve told my boss. Going to tell siblings etc after our 7wk scan in a couple of weeks. Really can’t wait to see it on the screen and hopefully everything looks good, and then I’ll probably end up telling more people 😂 it’s my first and I swing between super anxious that somethings going to go wrong and being so excited I just want to shout it from the rooftops!

MochaHoldTheMilkAndCoffee · 12/04/2022 16:06

Hello All, I'm sorry I didn't reply to those who were asking how I was after the results of my first scan on Friday. I've struggled with a lot of emotions the last 4 days. I've been reading all your updates and it's so nice to see all the new members.

I just wanted to update you all.
I had a second blood test on Sunday to measure my HCG levels and they went from 5050 (friday) to 7722 (sunday) they hadn't doubled but thats not always the case once the levels get so high. A scan was booked for this afternoon and the gestation sac has grown in proportion to what you'd expect after 4 days and there's now a visible baby with a heartbeat!
I'm measuring 6 weeks exactly, I've a third scan next week then they're signing me off until 12 weeks!
I'm so relieved, it's been 4 days of so much worry!

LolaJ87 · 12/04/2022 16:08

That is amazing news @MochaHoldTheMilkAndCoffee - so delighted for you! It must be a big relief. Seeing that heartbeat is such a huge milestone, congrats.

RSmamaa · 12/04/2022 16:22

@MochaHoldTheMilkAndCoffee that must be such a relief to see. Amazing you got to see the heartbeat. Congratulations! Time to chill and crack the biscuits and tea out!

Nutella99 · 12/04/2022 16:31

My cramps seem to be getting worse 😕 Way worse than any I normally get during a period. It's definitely a crampy pain rather than a stabby pain. Is this really normal?

RSmamaa · 12/04/2022 16:43

@Nutella99 I've been having cramps but I would describe it as an ache rather than a pain and nothing more than period pains. But everyone is different and some pain is definitely normal. Do you feel like you need to take pain relief? If you do it might be worth speaking to a midwife or GP they may get you into EPU. How far along are you?

BuchananBaby · 12/04/2022 16:48

@MochaHoldTheMilkAndCoffee that's such amazing news congratulations 🥰❤️

@Nutella99 it can be normal aslong as there's no bleeding but I would suggest calling your GP/EPU for advice if you're worried and they may be able to check you if needed ❤️

PinkFizz1 · 12/04/2022 16:54

@MochaHoldTheMilkAndCoffee aw what a lovely update, you must be feeling exhausted with all the emotions!

Galaxyrippleforever · 12/04/2022 17:55

I've told quite a few friends this time because I cannot be bothered trying to keep it a secret from the nearest and dearest! I told my dad too, sadly I very suddenly lost my mum a few months ago and I wish I could tell her. So I vote for telling your mums!!

lovesT · 12/04/2022 18:11

@Tofu35 we've told my husband's family (parents and brother and sister in law who are also expecting) as they're visiting and we won't see them again for a few more months. I've also told my mum as I'm not feeling good and she can tell!

@Nutella99 I've had on and off cramps after they stopped for about a week. They feel a bit like period cramps but almost like stretching and they go away. It's normal for you to feel the stretching and going etc but no harm in contacting someone if you're worried x

DogTired22 · 12/04/2022 18:23

Hi everyone! How are you all this evening. Sorry I've not been about to reply much today.

I'm feeling a bit rubbish 😔 think I might have a raised temperature so probably end up calling 111 later. It's not covid. Could maybe be a urine infection, who knows 🤷🏼‍♀️ Just drinking cold water and will take temp again in a bit. It was 37.8 earlier

Beautytobe · 12/04/2022 18:28

I have had 3 baby losses so I get regular bloods from the early pregnancy unit

Good to hear you're being looked after @Beautytobe. I've had 4 miscarriages (3 recurrent ones over the last year) and I'm not being seen at RMC until I'm nearly 8 weeks 😔 6 weeks 4 days today.
lovesT · 12/04/2022 19:09

We're going to need a new thread soon!

I've found that eating regularly in the day really helps nausea. Definitely feeling what I assume is growing pains today on and off.

Watermelonbonnie · 12/04/2022 19:21

Hi all,
I've been lurking a while. I found out that I am expecting my 3rd about 2.5 weeks ago now. I've previously had 4 losses and seem to be on edge all the time. I've paid for an early scan when I thought I was 6+1 but we could only see an yolk sack, a nice looking one mind!! I've got another scan booked in on the 17th to hopfully see beans heart beat. It feels like such a long wait. Symptom wise I have sore breast, and sickness/gassyness in waves but not even every day. And don't get me started on the spots. I've had my hcg tested and it was nearly 8000 so I am hoping for the best. I hope you are all doing okay? I'm sorry that some people have had bad news, you have my condolences and hugs 🫂

Amphibian94 · 12/04/2022 19:50

The sickness has started! Since yesterday I am so nauseous... having to eat small meals but I am soooo hungry! I feel awful. Like hungover with food poisoning lol. Hope this doesn't last.

Hope all the ladies r well today!

lovesT · 12/04/2022 20:20

I have been so tired that I got into bed before 8 ... I went to the toilet and wiped and inspected as I usually do ... There was the tiniest string of darker discharge (sorry for the TMI), it was a tiny tiny bit but of course I'm over analysing everything now. I've wiped quite a few times since and it's clear I think but I can't help but be a bit worried ... I had some mild cramps/ stretching kind of pains earlier but they have stopped. Just feel a bit nervous x

DogsAndGin · 12/04/2022 20:34

@Nutella99 I am having cramps too, it was really sore earlier - lasted about 5 minutes - it was really sore - to the extent I was curled up rubbing my belly. Not sure how normal it is, but if you’re worried, see the dr x

Mamafizz · 12/04/2022 20:44

Hey all.

Please can I jump on this thread. Had a positive test result 7th April and due 14th December.

So nice to hear my anxieties seem to be matching many of yours and I feel like these next few weeks are going to drag.

Hope you're all doing ok.

FlowerJ · 12/04/2022 21:25

@Tofu35 we've only told one close friend so far but we live away from family so it's easier to keep it from them for now. We have just visited my mum but none of my symptoms are noticeable so far so we've kept it to ourselves.

@MochaHoldTheMilkAndCoffee I'm so pleased for you! 🥰🥰

littlecontis · 12/04/2022 21:33

Mine also started today. I just didn't want to eat anything which is so unlike me! I did feel better after a cheeky Kit Kat tho 😂
littlecontis · 12/04/2022 21:36

@MochaHoldTheMilkAndCoffee such great news! What a relief!!

TripleMMM · 21/04/2022 18:30

Hey Everyone,

I hope you’re all doing well, I also cannot stop eating.. obsessed with all butter shortbread which does not have any essential nutrients in it for our blessing 😫

Anywho, we have just got a date for the mid-wife, it’s our first child so I have no clue what happens? Can anyone fill me in?
Will they check my HCG levels? Heartbeat? I’ve been doing ok with symptoms (not complaining) but equally I do have a niggle in the back of my mind like - is everything ok?!

Main question is what happens at the first mid-wife appointment? And are results instant or do we have to wait a few days

xx
