Hey ladies, I'm so excited to be able to join this thread! 🤗 I've got my first ever BFP over the weekend and the NHS due date calculator has me due 4th December.
I've had a fairly eventful path to get here -
Me and my husband have been trying to conceive since September 2020, so it's been a long journey. Had had absolutely no whisper of a pregnancy so 12 months later got in touch with my gp and started getting fertility checkups. Everything came back fine/within normal, so that was I guess good to know but also didn't help explain why we'd had no luck so far!
In December I got the horrible news that my father had been diagnosed with a terminal illness that meant he had only a few months left, so I flew out to Australia as soon as I could. DH stayed behind to look after the house/cat etc and also because at the time Australia still had a closed border, so I had to quarantine for two weeks before I was able to make it to my parents. I ended up spending three months in Aus, so obviously that was a big obstacle to TTC until I flew back home at the start of March.
It appears after all that we may have conceived pretty much instantaneously, I had spotting about three days after I landed, although it was fairly early in my cycle (CD11) I think that may have been it. So after being in slight disbelief and peeing on several sticks to be sure to be sure we're cautiously optimistic we might finally have succeeded. And mildly terrified too lol
I'm hoping I will be able to get a scan as early as possible, as I really want to be able to let my family know a bit sooner than 12 weeks so they can have some good news after a horrible year so far. And maybe fingers crossed if my dad is still with us enough to understand the news that would be so nice.
So it's been a rollercoaster, I'm just hoping it's relatively smooth sailing from here, fingers crossed!!
