So I know this is super super early, but I wanted to start a thread going for us ladies with December due dates. I had a mc during my first pregnancy in January so I'm nervous about everything, but also excited! I'm 4 weeks pregnant Sunday and my test lines have been fairly strong 🙏 I have a sensitive sense of smell and my nipples are sore (but I'm embracing every symptom I get!)

Congrats on your positive!

It is defo not impossible and I know I can absolutely go through with it and all will settle into place. There are just so many ifs/buts but I don't think there is ever a right time and I would always find reasons why X is the wrong time etc. Abortion is something I would consider and I am not against this at all - I just wish I knew the right choice! We've decided to give ourselves a time limit on making a decision as it is so hard with each day going by so slowly... trying not to make myself excited etc. Sending love to you too x

Norberta · 31/03/2022 13:33

@mmmm99 such a difficult situation. I think only you can make that decision. I’m 30 and can say from my own experience that I’ve loved having my 20s to work single mindedly on myself, my career, and having all the fun free times that you only get before babies come along. If I had been in your shoes at your life stage I wouldn’t have been able to raise a baby. But you aren’t me! Wishing you all the love and luck with whatever you choose.

Sera123 · 31/03/2022 13:36

@Moosic Yeah it's the first I've heard of not doing the 12 week so maybe she's mistaken or my trust is doing things differently? I wonder I'd it's something they've reduced due to Covid and just haven't put back into place (like so much else grr)?

@Norberta Good to know you've had a positive experience with private scans, I may still go down that route!

@BuchananBaby I hope she is mistaken, she seemed to be saying that if you are high risk for things like downs then they will do the test but who knows. I am also 34 so probably do count as an older mum and thus may fall into that category anyway. But yeah does seem odd!

TheFantastic7 · 31/03/2022 13:45

@mmmm99 that’s a very wise thing to do re the time limit, would be so much easier having a magic ball wouldn’t it!
@Sera123 are you able to self refer to a midwife? Maybe Google your local midwife unit and go from there? Your GP must be wrong as the 12 week scan is to date your pregnancy, get your estimated due date, and also bloods I think x

5manc · 31/03/2022 14:25

Hi everyone! Congratulations on all the bfps ❤️✨ I've just tested positive after an early miscarriage in January (@BuchananBaby so pleased to hear you are in the same boat - I remember you from the due October thread which we both had to leave 😢). Feeling less stressed about this one and just taking it easy and trying not to worry - easier said than done though! X

BuchananBaby · 31/03/2022 14:38

@mmmm99 We decided to try for DD during lockdown then when we fell pregnant we suddenly panicked we were renting a 1 bedroom flat in a terrible area and DP only had a temporary contract but we managed to buy a house when I was 6 months pregnant and DP got his permanent job when she was 3 months old and it was a sigh of relief. Sometimes these things have a way of working themselves out but you have to do what's right for you ❤️ make sure you talk to someone close to you as no matter what you decide you will need a good support system ❤️

BuchananBaby · 31/03/2022 14:41

Aww @5manc it's so lovely to hear from you 🥰, congratulations on your bfp lovely you must be absolutely buzzing ❤️ here's to a long happy 8 months 🥰

Charl1247 · 31/03/2022 15:00

Hi everyone,

I hope I'm okay to join in on the roller coaster journey... I tested positive at 9po and have got my BFP on a clear blue digital this morning 14dpo and it says 2-3 weeks. I had a miscarriage at around 7-8 weeks last year and was under the care of a private fertility clinic as I wanted some tests doing ect. All came back fine and was told to try again ... I have just phoned the clinic to try and get in for an early scan and they have told me to take 75mg of aspirin morning and evening. Does anyone else take this ?

Norberta · 31/03/2022 15:47

@Charl881 I am taking 75 mg asprin! I did a bunch of research and self prescribed it as really didn’t want to lose another one. I know some people would advise against that but I felt based on the evidence I was prepared to take a risk. I’m actually very reassured your clinic told you to do the same thanks for sharing! Ps I buy mine from boots if you’re looking for where to get it xx

December22NewMomma · 31/03/2022 16:04

@Charl1247 @Norberta I’ve never heard of taking aspirin before. I’m going to look into it now, thanks for the tip.
This is my first pregnancy so really have no idea what to do/expect.
I was surprised that you don’t see the midwife until 8 weeks - it’s a little anxiety inducing.

Anyone have any pregnancy tips for a first timer?

My doctor told me it should thin the blood to help implantation and just all in all help everything in the early stages x

FlowerJ · 31/03/2022 16:57

Hey ladies! Can I join?
I got my BFP today ! EDD 1st December 😀 It's not sunk in yet! Only symptoms have been late period (8 days), sore boobs and constipation 😒
Congratulations to you all!! 🌟

FlowerJ · 31/03/2022 17:02

Your situation sounds so similar to mine when I had my daughter !
I was 20 when I got pregnant, I was in the middle of my uni degree, we were both uni students, living in student accommodation and had only been together around 18 months! NGL we crapped ourselves but it was seriously the best thing we ever did and it all worked out!
I took a year out of uni (we actually ended up better off financially!) My OH got a permanent job, we moved out of student acc into a 2 bed flat and it all worked out perfect. I went back to uni when my DD was nearly 1, finished my degree and have since carried on with my career and it didnt effect me and my OH at all 🙂 It's definitely doable but I understand how scary it is! And of course you have to do what's right for you! 🥰

Mommabear20 · 31/03/2022 17:10

Got an unexpected positive this morning. I've currently got the implant so have called doctors to remove asap! Not 100% sure of my dates but I have worked out a due date based off of when I last had a period, and I think I'm due around the 10th December. we already have 2 under 2, so this will make 3 under 3! Freaking out is an understatement!

Congrats!! I can understand how you feel right now! Our BFP today was also unexpected (we'd only DTD once this month!) And it will be our 3rd also. Scared is an understatement right now! Hope you get sorted with the Dr's, didn't even realise you could get PG on the implant 😬 xx
lottie222 · 31/03/2022 17:29

I've had a few chemicals and was thinking if I should self prescribe the low dose aspirin as the EPU haven't yet got back to me Hmm Would it be pointless at 15dpo?

BuchananBaby · 31/03/2022 17:40

@FlowerJ we're EDD buddies 🥰 congratulations ❤️

Oh @Mommabear20 what a lovely surprise 🥰 they'll see you ASAP hopefully 🤞

MadamMaltesers · 31/03/2022 17:55

@lottie222 I'm thinking the same thing. I might start taking baby aspirin, I can't get to see a Dr until next week and after 3 miscarriages I don't want the risk if waiting until then.

Mommabear20 · 31/03/2022 17:56

@FlowerJ neither did I! 🤦‍♀️ but they do say contraception is never 100%. I'm scared to tell DH as he is dead against having more kids, so I'm taking a few days (no more than a week) to get my own head around it before I tell him.

Ooo yey!!! Hi EDD buddy 🥰 Thank you, congrats to you too! Hope you are feeling OK?

Nothing wrong with giving yourself a little headspace 🥰 It's a lot to take in. We are both just in complete shock atm. I'm sure he will come round to the idea 🙂

BoyMum18 · 31/03/2022 18:49

Aaah I made a bad decision!!! Told my 3 year old that he's going to be a big brother (he's quite a rough and tumble little boy) so wanted him to be gentle with me. And he's started telling everyone he sees 😂😂

PinkLemonade03 · 31/03/2022 19:51

Hey everyone, and congratulations to you all!

Just had my first positive test on Sunday and worked out I should be 5 weeks tomorrow and due around Dec 2nd. My boyfriend and I are so excited but I'm also really nervous as my brother's partner recently had a missed miscarriage and I'm worrying that the same thing could happen. We've booked in an early scan for a couple of weeks time to (hopefully) ease the nerves!

I'm new here so I'm useless with all the abbreviations everyone's using but I think I've worked a few out haha. It'll be nice to have more people to chat to as we've only told my mum the news so far!

lottie222 · 31/03/2022 20:09

Ugh having the worst cramping tonight. It's just terrifying. Feels like awful period cramps. I just hope this is ok.

lottie222 · 31/03/2022 20:11

Don't know whether it could also be wind! Has anyone else experienced cramps? They don't seem to be budging!
