We're big fans of our Ergobaby Omni 360. It's suitable from birth and has a supportive band on the back that really helps. I last had our daughter in it when she was 18 months - the carrier could still support her fine at that point, but I couldn't!! Grin

EarlGreywithLemon · 05/04/2022 10:15

And seconding trying them out at John Lewis (sorry for the double post)

EarlGreywithLemon · 05/04/2022 10:17

Oh, and a triple post- so sorry! @Roxystar23 we got our sheets from John Lewis and they seemed to wash and last well.

pregnancydiaries · 05/04/2022 10:34

@Roxystar23 we've gone for the nanit monitor. It's pretty pricey but they often have deals on with 20% off. We know a couple of people who have them and recommended highly so that's what sold it to us. Haven't personally used to give feedback though xx

Prema112 · 05/04/2022 10:44

Can't find who else said they have a sideways baby, but I do too! Well kinda diagonal actually, kicks are all in my top right side. Midwife said not to worry at this stage...

Would definitely recommend a stretchy unstructured sling to begin with and then we got a Lille baby which I'd really recommend

destiEos · 05/04/2022 10:46

@PleaseSendNoodles those tiny parcels of outfits!! My god, that is adorable...We finally bought a dresser this weekend, just second-hand to put in the wardrobe and despite measuring everything a few times before buying, DH had to take the top off, saw it down to size, sand it and then we just about squeezed it in! It's already full, but we are heading towards a nursery of sorts...Still no idea where to put the 4 boxes of travel system :D

@InvisibleDragon I was thinking the same, stretchy to start and then more sturdy one for when he's a bit older.

We had a hello baby monitor for our son. We liked it, it worked well but it didn't last so if you want one to use for multiple kids I wouldn't recommend it

EarlGreywithLemon · 05/04/2022 10:47

@Prema112 our daughter was transverse at this point in my first pregnancy and she turned - definitely before 35 weeks, but might have been a bit earlier.

Prema112 · 05/04/2022 10:49

I'm having a duvet day today. I had my usual porridge for breakfast and now my stomach is really hurting, I guess it's indigestion/heartburn which I've only been getting in the evenings, it's going to be tricky if it starts happening after every meal...

Prema112 · 05/04/2022 10:50

Thanks @EarlGreywithLemon she said they will check him at 34 weeks and order a scan if he still appears transverse

pregnancydiaries · 05/04/2022 10:59

@Prema112 I'm also having a duvet day, can't find the energy to even think today! Going to write a list of what we need to get...I think it's pretty long, eek xx

EarlGreywithLemon · 05/04/2022 11:16

@Prema112 good luck! I think it was pretty much like that for us. The midwife thought she was still transverse, I went for a positioning scan, and she had in fact moved. Hoping for the same for you!

destiEos · 05/04/2022 11:44

@Prema112 I feel your pain and wish I had decided on a duvert day. I started my day with 2 slices of toast with peanut butter for brekkie - blood sugar one hour later: 8.5 :'( I give up - looks like breakfast is a danger-zone. Also decided to stop the omeprazole yesteryday as I didn't think I needed it..within hours I'm getting reflux (not acid, just liquid yuk). And last, but by no means least - the constipation has returned, I had enough: lit a cigarette - 3 drags later et voila!

  1. more. months. Not sure I'm going to make it tbh...
Prema112 · 05/04/2022 12:42

@EarlGreywithLemon I hope that's the same for us!

@pregnancydiaries Enjoy! I've just spent an hour thinking of names DH will probs veto...

@destiEos Aw third trimester is so hard isn't it!! I'm so glad I have you ladies to share it with, I'd think I was overreacting if I didn't have all your experiences to realise it's normal to be exhausted and in pain and need REST

Vimto1991 · 05/04/2022 13:14

@Prema112 I had a bad stomach, too! I had two slices of toast and a tiny bit of lilt for breakfast and had cramps/heart burn. I can’t even take rennies until the afternoon due to my thyroid medication. 😫 I did take some fybrogel yesterday so maybe it’s kicking in. 🙈 hope you feel better soon!! I do have a feeling it may only get worse before it gets better 😅

Rolledthedice · 05/04/2022 14:01

I’m joining the “hip pain while sleeping” camp. I’ve put off getting cushions/pregnancy specific pillow but I just can’t lie on my left side anymore. Any suggestions from those in the same boat? Not sure where to start with pillows?

Also saw pelvic floor physio yesterday and she said my swollen flap (ahem) and groin ache is most likely due to a pulled perineum muscle. I blame hiking and biking on holiday at 28 weeks!! Watch out for overstretching your muscles ladies!

Letsbekindplease · 05/04/2022 14:04

I too having a duvet day!
Mainly because I was working a full shift yesterday and today I can hardly walk. I’m now thinking I need a line from the dr but unsure on what to say as work have said maternity will be taken early. Stressing me out.

PleaseSendNoodles · 05/04/2022 15:06

Urgh! Sorry for everyone’s aches and pains. Third tri can be rough, clearly. @Prema112 that seems so unfair when porridge is such an inoffensive breakfast. Glad some of you are taking duvet days!

@destiEos it looks great! I love changing furniture into something new rather than buying a whole new set.

Confession: treated myself to half a glass of red wine at the weekend. It was as delicious as I remembered 😂

Also - name pondering. For those of you with different surnames to your partner, what are you choosing for baby? I was going to use mine as a second middle name but now I’m not sure whether I’ll bother…

Prema112 · 05/04/2022 15:27

@Letsbekindplease Oh no! Glad to hear you're in bed- look after yourself.
@PleaseSendNoodles Haha yes I know! Not fatty or spicy or anything!
I took my husbands name when we got married but I miss my maiden name and it's really cool, sounds French as it's from Jersey, so it's my sons second middle name and will be this baby's second middle name too Smile

Rolledthedice · 05/04/2022 15:36

@PleaseSendNoodles My nephew has my family surname and my partner is likely to be the only one his side to have a child, so I’m begrudgingly letting him use his surname. 😅 Luckily he has a cool-sounding French one!

I’m not traditional at all so it pains me slightly that baby isn’t my name or a mix of both. I wouldn’t even get married! Instead we waited a decade for Civil Partnerships to be available to heterosexual couples.

If you can use it as a middle name then that seems like a nice compromise.

Currently waiting to see the midwife after 32 week growth scan. I've not seen all the results but I do know that I've just measured with increased fluid (polyhydramnios), so waiting to see what she'll say about that. (I've read that you're at increased risk for a cord prolapse with increased fluid so they like to break your waters in hospital) The measurement want too enormous but I have just literally stepped off a plane and haven't drink that much today as a result of all the travelling so I suspect it is a true reading. We'll wait to see what the midwife says now and get the rest of the measurement results!

I've been looking up a local sling library which I'm going to give a go to, to find out which one suits me best as I've read it's a very individual thing hope they fit your body.

@PleaseSendNoodles my partner and I have different surnames, we've decided to double barrel as I don't want to lose my surname, I've even managed to get mine in first as it just rolls off the tongue better that way round 😬

fpeg · 05/04/2022 16:33

Update, baby measuring fine, just planning to recheck fluid levels in 3 weeks with next growth scan. Placental blood flow was absolutely normal which is good.

Unfortunately BP just came back high so now I'm sat in a 15 minute blood pressure triage thing! My own fault for rushing from the plane to this appointment! Latest BP measurement has already come back normal, so they said they might only do one more rather than another 3. Hoping this doesn't mean I'm on BP watch with more appointments now as life is busy enough already 😂

Prema112 · 05/04/2022 17:17

@fpeg Good to hear babe is measuring fine! I'm on bp watch as I had a high bp at booking appointment (because I was spotting and was very stressed). It's been fine though, they gave me a bp monitor and I do it at home once a week, they ring me once a month for the readings and they've always been fine so hopefully it will be the same for you if you have to monitor it

fpeg · 05/04/2022 17:45

@Prema112 oh that's good news thank you and glad yours has been fine! I take mine once a week normally and it's always fine and today is 100% explainable to me and urine sample completely normal so I'm not fussed at all! Good to have the reassurance though xx

Octoblockisadick · 05/04/2022 17:46

@InvisibleDragon is there a sling library near you? Near me you can borrow one for free from 36 weeks and use for free until baby is 4 weeks old. And they have lots of different ones to try to see what you like before buying one.

@Roxystar23 I got some in asda last time, they seem soft enough and fit quite well. Usefully they say on the label what size they are too which comes in handy.

@Prema112 I've got a diagonal baby! He seems to stretch out into my right upper and left lower sides too which is rather uncomfortable!

@fpeg glad baby is fine and they aren't too worried about the waters. Hopefully your BP is stable too.
