Bump shot for anyone not on Instagram!
I also forgot to say I was trying to go to sleep last night and the baby kept moving. It makes me anxious? Like my brain knows what it is but my body is going omg what's that?! Something is wrong. Its weird. I'm hoping you get used to it and switch off to it!
@larrythelizard I think that's normal as it depends what angle they are at? I feel it more at bed time. But I went about a week without feeling mine around that point. Then I hit 19 weeks and suddenly felt it most days. So I wouldn't worry.

@paintfairy lovely bump snap! You all look great with your bumps I was just a whale because of all the excess amniotic fluid haha

Dropping in to say happy birthday to @Vil10 - easy to remember 😆 looks like your OH has been doing a good job at treating you 👍 good luck with the scan tomorrow too!

I'm supposed to be going for a meal later today for my mum and my birthday but not sure if I will as Matthew is a bit off after his first lot of immunisations yesterday afternoon. Will have to see how he is come this afternoon... it's not fun giving them those!

We had absolutely no antenatal classes during my pregnancy in NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde so I had to just find what I could online instead. If anyone is interested the baby academy do free live online classes on baby care, baby safety and breastfeeding. I joined them all. Worth a go as they are free! mybabyacademy.co.uk/free-online-workshop/

@paintfairy second hand all the way hun! All the stuff we’ve got has either been gifted to us, Facebook market place or sales in the shop! The only thing what’s been an expensive purchase was our travel set but even that was ex display so came with discount! Doesn’t matter where stuff has come from as babies grow too quick anyway and doesn’t look any different in comparison to the prudish Mums 😘 Nightmares are the worst I’m still having them, had a dream last night one of my old school friends I’ve not spoke to in a while his girlfriend had a heart attack 🧐 the hormones are wild!
@bellatrixK hopefully you get your dye stealer! It’ll not be too long away!
@minster2012 cannot beat a solid sleep, spare rooms come with perks after all!
@larrythelizard I’m like this at the moment because it just reminds me of gas so much I never know the difference, I’m sure the further we get along the better the pattern will be for us!
@franklydear I’m sorry your still having issues with the driver :( hopefully the manager can come to some form of solutions to stop all these issues from reoccurring!

Question ladies, how much weight gain is like considered as normal? I’m not to focus on the scales too much as I’ve never been one to be weight conscious but I don’t know what my next midwife appointment is going to be like when they recalculate the BMI 🙈 as I’ve already gained over a stone 🧐

Minster2012 · 15/03/2022 10:52

@paintfairy look great! I think you get used to the movements, I'm used to it now but still finding the very defined "kicks" or "head/bum,foot" I can definitely feel now as those ones are more powerful. I'd def see if you can find your ball im feeling much looser today & they say you can use from anytime. On the nursery's I'd start to have a think when you might want one from (if at all) & make a list of ones in your area & key points (hours/costs/facilities/how you'd get them there) things like that, then have a think what might be important to you. Then you can contact them. Don't worry about after school clubs but a major positive for the nursery/preschool X goes too is that it's open 7.30-6pm & he literally drives past it. (Also on a farm with big ethos for outside learning) So we found it was same cost as others but longer day & he could drop off & pick up (X was there at 7.33 this morning & I will get him at 1 as it's a half day today.) X started at 1 & straight away did full long days, he survived! This one will ideally do 1 day from about 9 months then 2 days from 1, not consecutive days. That long day really helped with me doing good amount of working hours as well as other life crap like washing etc.

@Vil10 happy birthday darling, yep you are being thoroughly spoilt & so you should be!!

larrythelizard · 15/03/2022 13:04

I know what you're saying is entirely logical @paintfairy @kaylsd but the Covid makes me worry! Baby has had a bit of a dance so maybe just didn't agree with my dinner last night!

DH has been and got my prescription (still testing positive) and I'm so excited to actually eat what I want instead of what won't cause heartburn...a simple tangerine would be a great start!

BellatrixK · 15/03/2022 13:14

Yesss @Franklydear you are fierce!

@larrythelizard so exciting that you’re starting to feel movements. Maybe yesterday they were in a different position? Glad to see they’re moving again now.

@bez91 amazing news about avoiding the MIL. Definitely a good idea from DH to keep you happy.

@paintfairy gorgeous bump shot!

@Vil10 happy birthday 🥳

I did the FRER. Not quite a dye stealer, but pretty strong, so I think it’s okay? The bottom one is today.

Minsters Side Car - Thread 7 - annoying neighbours, second hand bargains and how many sleep suits should we buy again?!
Juno231 · 15/03/2022 14:04

@BellatrixK fwiw I never got a dye stealer! Looking at my HCG results from 11 weeks my levels were right at the lower end of the scale but baby is still in there kicking so doesn't seem to matter!

@kaylsd there are pregnancy weight charts/calculators online - tbh i think they'll tell you you're in the red for gaining a stone but the midwife would not bat an eye and say it sounds healthy so I wouldn't pay any attention to it! For reference I've gained just under 5kg and the calculator told me off lol. Bastards.

@Vil10 I didn't have a midwife appointment after my 12 week scan and don't expect one for my 20 week scan either. Another useless answer from me as the trust all seem to be doing different things!

@Minster2012 can't wait to see your finished nursery! Paint wise at least!

@paintfairy I think the only new thing I've bought is two Christmas rompers in the big Jan sale.

@kate105 Def read poonami as poonani and got a bit worried as to what the heck PTSD gets up to!

I don't know if I ever uploaded my bump last week? If not then here it is.

Minsters Side Car - Thread 7 - annoying neighbours, second hand bargains and how many sleep suits should we buy again?!
DKDK123 · 15/03/2022 14:15

Actually nearly happy cried at my appointment today. They're so happy with how things are going so far that I don't need to go next week, they're now moving to fortnightly appointments instead of weekly! 😁 Obviously I was warned that could change again at any point, but neither them nor I thought we'd even get this far with things going so smoothly so it's a massive positive (considering Im just days away from this time last pregnancy I was kept in hospital for the remainder of the pregnancy and on 4hourly monitoring)! I think after all our losses this is life giving us our wee bit of goodness thrown back in our way by making this pregnancy go so well 💕 Doing a little happy dance 💃

@larrythelizard I did the exact same yesterday too and asked for the good stuff for heartburn 😂 Picked up my prescription today so hopefully will have some relief from it tonight

@kaylsd glad to hear pooch is on the mend. I love asda sales on baby clothes, I tend to do it online as theres never a great selection in my actual shop. As for the weight gain, with the exception of my booking appointment the midwife has never weighed me again nor commented on any weight gain so I wouldn't worry too much about it. As @Juno231 said there's calculators online with guides but everyone gains differently so as long as you're not eating for 2 everyday I wouldnt worry about it too much.

@whatwonder baby moon sounds fab tho I'm well impressed with the amount you managed to walk, my back aches just standing doing the cooking these days let alone walking for miles so well done you!

@Minster2012 that's absolute madness on how early you need to get a nursery place 😱 There are only 2 nurseries near me that start early enough for me to get to work on time, I put DS name down 3 months before he started and I thought that was me being super organised to make sure he got a space but nurseries down your way with that high a waiting list is crazy 🤯

@paintfairy baby neither knows nor cares where its things come from so don't feel bad! The majority of my stuff is second hand too, if I pick up some wee clothes it's from the sales, asda or matalan you can usually get wee tops or outfits on sale for about £3 so I usually can't resist picking up some wee things when I see them but the majority is either bought 2nd hand or hand me downs from friends. It's not as easy once they get older as the 2nd hand things start to dwindle as kids are in the clothes longer so they're not kept as good but the first year or two they grow out of clothes so fast that most 2nd hand clothes are practically new when you get them so it definitely makes sense to save some cash and get them that way! Same with other baby items for all the timeframe they're used in you can pick up things 2nd hand for over half the price of new even tho they've barely been used - it's a no brainer for me!

Happy birthday @Vil10 hope you're being spoiled rotten 🥳

Is it your birthday too today @2020mission, if so happy birthday. Hope you get out for your meal with your mum later 🤞

Nice line progression @BellatrixK 😁

Neat bump shots @paintfairy @juno231 I'm in complete feel like a whale territory now.

paintfairy · 15/03/2022 14:16

@Juno231 omg. I've used a calculator and I've put on too much weight as well! 🙈 Based on my previous pregnancy weight being what it dropped to. @kaylsd I don't think they use being as such? I mean about pregnant woman is bloody just that? Pregnant! And no 2 people are the same.
@Vil10 Happy birthday!
@BellatrixK looks good to me!

Juno231 · 15/03/2022 14:49

@paintfairy @DKDK123 right?? The calculators are evil 🤣

I'm so so glad your pregnancy is progressing so well dkdk!! You deserve to catch a break 🥰

@Minster2012 oh and I've heard stories like that about the nurseries in London too - there just aren't enough to around. I've emailed 3 the other week but none of them got back to me lol...

bez91 · 15/03/2022 15:12

@larrythelizard hope it kicks in quick so you can enjoy your fruit. Booo to the still positive tests though 🤦🏼‍♀️

@kaylsd I think it really varies depending on your start weight etc. Your post prompted me to weigh myself for the first time since pre pregnancy 🙈 I look to be the higher end of ok but still ok and that's 11.9kg put on at almost 32 weeks. As long as you don't think it's out of control I don't see the problem! I've also never been weighed since booking appointment so maybe midwives make a judgment call when they see you at subsequent appointments

@Juno231 what a neat bump 😍 how are you feeling?

Happy birthday @Vil10 hope you're having a lovely day 🥰

That's great @DKDK123 hopefully made you feel more at ease too that it looks like you might get to term with no hospital stays 🥳

kaylsd · 15/03/2022 16:03

@juno231 what a gorgeous little bump! I just think it’s a combo of bad diet this last week as it’s been my birthday and because of the pooch being poorly & family dramas I’ve just comforted ate this last week or so, however it’s not a common thing for me so hopefully it’ll balance out of the red (just done the calculator online it doesn’t like me either @paintfairy so don’t worry 🤣🤣😬)
@dkdk123 thank you sweetheart :) no I don’t eat for 2 everyday just been my birthday so there’s been lots of meals out and treats, especially Krispy Kreme doughnuts 😋 I’ve been back on the balance life today 😉 I’ll check out Asda online too for more choice, it’s been a good shout place for neutral bits!
@bez91 I got weighed at both my midwife appointment for the booking and the hospital midwife appointment post scan 🧐 may differ with the sounds from trust to trust, typical as usual!
@paintfairy I used to get irritated at the infertility clinics with how they used to get on at BMI I still don’t think it’s a good measuring tool even from my nursing point of view how heavily focused it is to be used in practice!

Just been to hair dressers and she’s commented how thick my hair has become! I’ve gone for more of a smudge root than full head of colours because I don’t know if anyone else is same but my scalp is so much more sensitive since hormone changes! Love a good hair freshen up feels so much lighter, feel like doing the hair swish flick movements like Pantene 🤣👸🏼

DKDK123 · 15/03/2022 16:28

Forgot to say something else that was cool but scary at first from the appointment. She was checking out baby's heartrate, I could hear it beating and all seemed well other than having to chase baby a bit as she was wriggling, but then she said I'm just going to turn this volume down for just now. Cue utter panic from me that something was wrong! But turns out baby's heart rate was going too high, when she turned the volume down it returned to normal again she said some babies get really excited when they can hear their own heart beat and it makes their heart beat faster with excitement but within minutes of turning the volume down so they cant hear it anymore they return back to normal! I knew babies could hear things from the outside by this stage but didn't realise just how much they actually listened and could get excited over sounds! I thought that was pretty cool. Tho I tried but still feel a bit of a plum talking to my bump as I don't know what to say, I figure DS talks to it enough for all of us so I'm sure she must enjoy his stories and songs 😍

larrythelizard · 15/03/2022 17:39

@DKDK123 yes to the meds, looking forward to starting tomorrow with some heartburn protection! That's so cute about the heartbeat 💕💕💕 I hear you on DS talking a lot, mine doesn't ever shut up, I assume new baby will come out with hands over their ears to get some peace!

Bump looking great @Juno231! My experience of a few different nurseries around here is that they may be good at looking after babies but absolutely shit at the comms and paperwork bit!

I'm in complete denial @kaylsd i am just going to continue to try not to go mental (most of the time) and stay active and deal with it afterwards! I haven't been weighed since my booking in appt either.

Spain sounds lovely @whatwonder maybe not so chilled but Seville has always been on my list, nearly went in 2020 but Covid ruined that one!

Tests looking good @BellatrixK 🤞🏼

Positive tests now just feeling like Groundhog Day as I feel better @bez91!

OP posts:
Franklydear · 15/03/2022 18:11

@Juno231ger That I know is about the shortcut so surely he's looking for a better excuses @juno231 you're even cuter!
@Vil10 enjoy your birthday
@DKDK123 o forgot what I was going to say, it'll come back to me
@Minster2012 love the nursery

With all these, I've forgotten, no spotting for 2 days now, big sore boobs, nauseas, my Clementines gave me heartburn, I am constantly feeling wet and have a tone of cm, I'll test tomorrow bit who wants to bet it'll be negative

Franklydear · 15/03/2022 18:13

Oh yes @DKDK123 the listening, yes, just speak out loud a lot and baby will recognise your voice, daddy too

Franklydear · 15/03/2022 18:17

My post got all muddled up, long story short, today it was ok, left at the right stop, so I'll follow up but not today, but I've not gone away, I am watching

Minster2012 · 15/03/2022 18:50

@BellatrixK I think that looks a great line, I didn't keep testing after 15dpo so I don't know what they are like but it looks great 😊

@Juno231 it's nearly there & I've hung the curtains back up! Need to get DH on with finding & building the cot & can put it all together. Are you getting good kicks now? Chase the nurseries!! Though you gave one at work too right but after the commute?

@DKDK123 that's so good on less appointments, this little girl is so strong and so are you that's FANTASTIC 🥰
For DS you put his name down 3 months before he started?! There are a few that are like that here but they are right in town centres. Funny enough I started talking to bump a bit more recently, it's felt a bit weird til now

@bez91 yeah I've only been weighed the one extra time at my growth scan consultant appointment & I guess that's what they based the "she looks big compared to you on" might be different next time as I've put on a lot they will prob say she looks small 😂

@kaylsd you swish away!!! Can you remember my "orange hair" incident at around 15 weeks pregnant?! God that was awful, my scalp burnt 🥵 I'm having my hair done tomorrow after midwife

@Franklydear your body is totally messing you around but pleased you got the bus sorted

I just looked at the pregnancy weight calculator & got a shock after being under the range for my height/bmi last time I'm now slightly above it so clearly I've just piled on the weight in the last few weeks. Oh well 😂

Midwife then hair appointment for me tomorrow

Franklydear · 15/03/2022 20:10

@Minster2012 yeah, it doesn’t help that with all this stress I don’t know my arse from my elbow

DKDK123 · 16/03/2022 04:02

@franklydear glad to hear he was left at the right stop this time .......wouldn't like to be in their shoes if they fuck up again as they'll have one angry mama bear on their hands!
Sorry to hear your body's messing with your head again, shall be quietly hoping for good news for you.

Ladies with heartburn the omeprazole is AMAZING! 🙌 Wasn't expecting it to work so soon but after weeks of excruciating heartburn particularly at night ive had zero tonight!!! Still awake because well my body decided from early on in pregnancy insomnia was the way to go, but at least I'm awake but not suffering. And I even had half a can of fizzy juice last night to tesr it out (didn't dare drink the full can just incase) but zero issues 🥳

Franklydear · 16/03/2022 06:02

@DKDK123 the school senco called him to the office to talk about the bus and how it makes him feel, so I am hoping we can control the anxiety about it, and that they contact the company too

I am glad they got you a solution, heartburn is truly horrible
My body, I don’t know any more, I’ll test today, it’ll be negative but I want to see it, and then just wait, when the hell do I call cd1?

larrythelizard · 16/03/2022 07:44

Mine wasn't as immédiat @DKDK123 but I already had heartburn when I took one. Have followed @Lexber's advice and taken one on an empty stomach this morning!

Sounds like a decent double pronged attack @Franklydear and one that will help DS.

Nice day for you today then @Minster2012!

Nursery have changed the rules so have to LFT DS if there's a positive case in the house - any of you with an opinionated 2 year old will know the battle of swabbing high up a toddler's nose...! So I'm desperately hoping I get a BFN today, it was much weaker yesterday 🤞🏼

OP posts:
Minster2012 · 16/03/2022 08:00

@larrythelizard oh I know that pain 😂hoping you get no lines 😂😂& the meds help!

@Vil10 good luck with the scan today darling 🥰

@Franklydear did you test? And no idea on the CD1 I'm afraid then

I'm crafting atm in bed 😂

bez91 · 16/03/2022 08:11

@Minster2012 sod the calculators. BMI I think is so outdated, it calculated me at overweight when I was at my fittest/healthiest because of my height. Was just muscle that weighed more! Ooh good luck for midwife app, I met my actual assigned midwife yesterday for the first time at 31 weeks 🙈 she was lovely. I wonder if I'll ever see her again 😆

@larrythelizard that's really frustrating on nursery rules arggggh! I feel for you, when we've had to do it we've had to bribe with juice or similar which isn't the parenting I want to be doing at 7am in the morning!

@Vil10 good luck for today and hope you had a super day yesterday!

We have a nursery viewing booked in for Monday and I'm off all next week so going to get organised with some meal prep post baby arriving

Minster2012 · 16/03/2022 08:17

Ooo talking of meal prep I got discount codes for hello fresh through so I'm thinking I might use those in the last four weeks 🤪not quite what you meant @bez91 😂
