Ahhhhhh sitting down now after a loooong day

Glad the scan was all good @whatwonder that's fantastic and you had a lovely time away. Now take it easy!! (She says, knackered!)

@kaylsd I'm sorry Mable still isn't well, poor poochie, but the clothes look lovely!

@bez91 do you have to see MIL before baby arrives??? Just putting it out there. You could be ill when you are meant to be going?? I'm super struggling walking and being tired now, it's hit me like a tonne of bricks with not sleeping well either it's a real killer . Just pushing a full Tesco trolley around today, with toddler in it too just nearly killed me

@paintfairy I've also only seen midwife at 8 weeks, 16 weeks then 25 now after my growth scan at 28 weeks they said they wanted a midwife consult 2 weeks later so that's 30 this weds. X managed the christening it was good actually. And yeah to explain DH is very tall, as is his whole family, he's 6'6", (another brother 6'6 also, other 6'3", sister & mum about 5'8", i'm average, 5'5" so a good foot shorter than him when wearing flats, X is the size of a 5 year old at 3 years 7 months so is it any worse def that baby might be big?? He was a knob cos after the christening (where there were drinks & he had a lot of beer), he then wanted to go to the pub instead of coming home so I agreed to pick him up in a bit...only for him to want picking up right at X bedtime & even X said "I'm too tired to go get daddy" but no choice. He was drunk, & let slip he had mushrooms & egg with his sausage bagel in the morning yet only did sausages for me 🤨and I had to tidy the house on my own when I got back as it was a sh*ttip. So nothing major just annoying. HOWEVER. We did end up having sex on the sofa later & it was me that basically raped him 🤪. I'm a world of pains now. Honestly every time I get up im limping.

@larrythelizard it's so lovely about your sister too, that will be special 🥰

@Vil10 happy 20 weeks!!!! And such good news on the house!! It's so exciting!
all is my scans are just in and out, my midwife isn't at the hospital. However after the last growth one I went back round to the antenatal clinic

@DKDK123 yes DS was great at the christening, it was DH that was the issue, disappearing leaving me talking to ppl I have no idea who they are then getting drunk 🙄but all ok now

Random one for you, I've just sent a form to enrol "baby girl bump" at the same nursery as DS after being told by my friend I was delayed (was worried), she's got hers down already for next year (she's due April) but other ppl are being told there's a 2 YEAR waiting list?!! What??

larrythelizard · 14/03/2022 17:16

Thank you @Lexber - Dr just called and will have a prescription for heartburn meds (the ones you're on) tomorrow - I'm so excited at the prospect of being able to eat fruit again!

@bez91 no bloody idea what I'm going for. But I've got to see my midwife at 25 weeks, then go back at 28 for the anti d. Plus I have a scan at 28 at the hospital. So how many times do I need to go?! Aaarrrgghhh. Good news, kind of, about MIL. But yeah erm, be ill? 🤣
@larrythelizard they don't seem concerned about the anti d thing at all. So I've no idea. I do not want to Google anything. I am in denial. 🤣
@kaylsd clothes look good! I'll have to take a trip.
@whatwonder excellent news about the scan. I really don't understand percentiles but mine is only on like 25. Is that bad? 🤔
@Minster2012 that makes sense. You aren't short then but X is definitely tall! Flipping heck. As for DH yeah that would have annoyed me. Typical man stuff! I honestly can't understand the 2 year wait thing. That must mean everyone is putting their names down before conception? Which is ludicrous. If people just behaved like reasonable human beings, there would be no issue. 🙄

I'm beginning to feel a little guilty that everyone is buying all this stuff. My poor baby has only second hand things so far. I've become obsessed and got maybe too much. I'm banned from vinted. I did have some muslins and towels turn up today though. I've literally bought nothing new yet apart from 2 blankets. And mum is knitting me a cardigan (more in the pipeline) and has already done a blanket. I need to order a mattress for the snuzpod and a waterproof sheet though. 🙈 But the rest is 2nd hand.

larrythelizard · 14/03/2022 18:56

Of course it doesn't matter @paintfairy - there's a couple of blankets that this baby will use which were made for it's uncle so have done lots of hand me downs! There's such little wear on most stuff. If I'm right and this is a second boy this child is basically never going to have anything new 😂

Oooft @Minster2012 this is a thing! I had to sign up the Pope before birth because places were so tight. Issue round here is that there are loads of childminders etc but not so many nurseries (v rural) and v few places that take under 2s. So it's a bit of a bun fight to get in!

PTSD has given me his cold, it's vile, I want to rip out my sinuses. I take it all back about man flu, this is the worst I've felt in YEARS

Franklydear · 14/03/2022 19:05

Aaaaargh, bloody bus have done it again, customer services will make a note, so tomorrow back to the office, much harder to tell me tough in person, if I end up in the bbc I’ll let you know, strong worded email on the go too, from us and the other parents

feliznavidad2 · 14/03/2022 19:10

@paintfairy don't feel guilty at all about second hand lady. This babe has a second hand next2me and pushchair. And lots of clothes from friends who to be honest have far more stylish tastes than me! X

Minster2012 · 14/03/2022 19:34

@larrythelizard yeyyyyyyy for drugs!!

@paintfairy why feel guilty over helping the planet with second hand stuff? this baby has all second hand stuff from X, X had all second hand prams in the first place & most stuff from marketplace. It's really good to reuse stuff you should feel "holier than you". And yeah that's it, I'm not short but he's v tall & when wearing flats it shows. Yep ppl joke that you have to sign them up for our particular one when TTC 🙄there's others that still have year waiting lists

@Kate105 could be covid I guess? But yeah being rural makes sense with not many places

So I just got a text from health visitor to visit on 1st April, I resisted the urge to say "long as it's not an April's fool joke" so it's all getting a bit real now. Will get red book then.

whatwonder · 14/03/2022 19:37

@paintfairy I think it's amazing to have so much second hand stuff, I'm actively trying to get as much second hand stuff as I can for baby. My friends gave me a big bag of 0-3 month clothes when I went back to Canada and I think it's so amazing that this will be the 3rd baby wearing them :)

@Minster2012 I'm having the same nursery reality check right now. Just emailed a couple in my local area (smugly thinking I was being so organised) and just got told by one (our preferred) that the absolute earliest slots they can offer are for September, and that we can go on a waitlist for June but there are already 60 families on the waitlist... wtf!!!!

Kate105 · 14/03/2022 19:51

I have had several Covid panics @Minster2012 but LFT all negative so far... 😬

Yes to second hand stuff @paintfairy most of our stuff was begged/borrowed. All the big items are second hand bar the car seat. Even the newborn nappies we borrowed were third hand at least!

Minster2012 · 14/03/2022 19:58

@whatwonder June and September next year? It's crazy isn't it! We got into ours when the nursery had only been open a year & it still had a 10 month waiting list, it's doubled in size since then adding a new separate building for the preschoolers. It's fab but yeah I should have done it sooner definitely 😫

Minster2012 · 14/03/2022 19:58

@Kate105 that's just rubbish then. Let's Blake the blokes anyway

Minster2012 · 14/03/2022 19:58

BLAME not Blake. Ffs

Minster2012 · 14/03/2022 20:20

Oh and also DH poked me twice last night to wake me saying I was not only snoring but my nose was squeaking 😫it was squeaking as I let the dogs out for their last wee too so can understand it. Spare room for me tonight

BellatrixK · 14/03/2022 20:23

Thank you so much for the welcome everyone. I’m still a bit nervous to be here, and counting down until 8 weeks until an early scan (still 24 days to go!). But I’m reading along!

@whatwonder ohhh, that sounds perfect, Internet detox in Spain… less so all those steps!

@larrythelizard yessssss, food freedom awaits!

@paintfairy I’m totally with you, as much second hand as possible. My brother has 3 young girls and he buys everything on Facebook marketplace. Most of it is like new.

@Franklydear oh no. Is your son okay?

Guys, I have 1 frer left. When did you get dye stealers? I think I wasn’t far off with 15dpo, so tomorrow at 19dpo I should have a good chance, right?

Franklydear · 14/03/2022 20:33

@BellatrixK not really, starting to say he doesn't want to go on the bus, so I promised to raise some he'll, email with copy to 2 MPs, ours and schools, leader of the council, special needs care council department, every email I have for the school and the autistic association, I reserve the local paper and the regional BBC for turning up a notch, and the council leader wants the MP seat, different parties so I'll play them both, I get shit done, and I'll pay them a visit in the office tomorrow, cos I must have turned the heat up a bit much, customer service told me they are just the middle man, so I am going to bother the drivers directly, I wonder if I can show up at the depot....

Franklydear · 15/03/2022 07:41

Off to the bus shop to raise some hell in person, gotta start work late for that, they picked on the wrong kid

feliznavidad2 · 15/03/2022 07:45

You've got this lady @Franklydear 👊

Minster2012 · 15/03/2022 07:45

@BellatrixK did you do the FRER? Should be good by this stage 🤞🏻

Good luck also @Franklydear

bez91 · 15/03/2022 08:11

@whatwonder sounds a lovely break! The walking at this stage would have probably killed me off and fantastic all is well with baby 🥰 I think it pays to have a baby start nursery in September as that's when all the spaces are available from everyone moving rooms, DD was October born so it worked out perfectly, it won't this time 🤦🏼‍♀️

@Minster2012 @paintfairy my DH must have read this thread because he said to me last night he'll take DD up to his mums for that day and I can stay at home and pull a sicky 🥳 which means I probably won't see her until after baby is here and no visits for a couple of weeks so that buys me more time not seeing her 🙈

@Minster2012 I feel you on the struggling with normal walking etc now, yesterday was full on with DD in the garden so in bed for 8:30.
Nurseries are mad I agree! I want baby to start March 2023 and haven't committed to one yet, we desperately want them to go to the same one DD goes too but 4 years ago when she started fees were probably £2 more a session than other nurseries and now are more like £11 more a session so would be an extra £2k+ a year, going to view another that's opened close by but they're all starting to book up in 2023. I hope the one nearby doesn't disappoint as they also have a breakfast and after school club for the infant school DD will hopefully get into so it would mean not having to do multiple drop offs and pick ups

@paintfairy doesn't matter, whose to know/care! Baby certainly won't and so much stuff is barely used it's a waste not to reuse especially when you can save £1000s

@BellatrixK I would say a frer should be good by 19dpo for sure! Hope you got your dye stealer!

@Franklydear go on lady 💪🏼

Minster2012 · 15/03/2022 08:32

@bez91 I did wonder when I saw the Insta about you chasing DD round with the broom 🧹 I was like phhhhhh that looks exhausting 😂also £11 more on the nursery session what???? But the one with the after school club sounds ideal! I've not even thought about that. Shit.

I had a lovely lie in this morning after being in the spare room I put my earplugs in & didn't hear DH & DS leave this morning. Slept til 7.35am whoop whoop!!

Also I got on the exercise hall last night sitting watching tv and my hips felt better so that will be my tv watching position now!

larrythelizard · 15/03/2022 09:14

Weirdly I think it's gone the other way here in that when we were looking for a nursery for DS there were only two that took under 2's (and I wouldn't touch one with a barge pole) but now there are 4 (including the one shit one) @Minster2012 but I have put the unborn one down for the 2+ brother DS goes to as that is always always full (to be fair it is amazing)

Well done mr @bez91 managed to read the room!

Well done on a good nights sleep @Minster2012 it makes all the difference!

Go get them @Franklydear I don't think they realise who they've picked a fight with.

How did you get on @BellatrixK? I looked back at my pics and all those from 18dpo onwards looked pretty strong

I have usually been feeling the baby have a wriggle at bedtime but didn't last night which obviously has freaked me out - I know it's stupid as I'm 17+5 so still so early to feel movements and it's probably just wiggled about a bit!

Need to remind DH about my prescription and also ask the MW to chase for my 20 week appt today!

Franklydear · 15/03/2022 09:14

Update, investigation will be finished this morning and manager will call me personally to update on solutions, just go to the bloody stop basically, but hopefully sorted today, I might have lost my cool and cry a little, but I didn't swear or insult anyone, calling the driver lazy is just stating the facts

paintfairy · 15/03/2022 09:21

Yes you are all probably right on the second hand stuff. And most of it is barely used, as you say. I just suddenly felt like a cheap skate. 🤣
@Minster2012 That make sense. You are taller than me but X looks huge next to you. 🤣
@Kate105 nothing worse! Last time I had one I used vicks micromist and I don't usually use stuff like that but it did help and made bed time easier.
@feliznavidad2 I have terrible fashion sense too and most other people probably have better taste than me. 🤭
@BellatrixK I'm not sure. My first frer would have technically been at 17dpo and it wasn't quite a dye stealer, but it was strong.
@bez91 Great news about DH being psychic on the MIL situation. I'm also struggling with walking. And if it's not my hips etc hurting now its my knee?! It even looked swollen yesterday. I must be walking differently? 🤔 Yet I'm not even that big yet! 😫 @minster2012 interesting the ball helps. I wonder why that is? Maybe I need that! I've got one somewhere. I last used it for the horses to play with. 🤭

I had a horrible dream last night. One was I was trying to escape a massive building (like stately estate type massive) that was on fire. Badly. And the other was I saw the evil consultant who laid me down and started coming at me with a scalpel and I was like- what are you doing?! And she hadn't said she was doing anything. And she said she was going to stitch me up so the baby stayed in. Only there was no apparent issue so I started arguing I didn't need it and hadn't consented to it. 🙈

What else. Erm- I've signed up to a 6 week course of antenatal type classes. They are mixed things (ladies only) covering yoga, hypnobirthing, general stuff. I thought I'd do it more to meet people in a hope I feel a bit less alone with it all. But I'm scared to go as I hate going anywhere new/alone. 🙄 They start in April. My official nhs classes are online so they are useless. But this place also does young baby things so if I like it there then later that's an option too.
I've booked baby newborn photos in also! Madness. So cannot afford it, but the 2nd hand buying offsets it at least.
As for nursery and CMs I'm in denial about that. The breakfast club thing etc is also useful but I'm honestly clueless as to how you know what's what and who has bloody what and which schools also do what. God knows.

Minster2012 · 15/03/2022 09:23

@larrythelizard god see there are actually loads of nursery's round here, but many are in the towns with little outside space, so it's those ones that obviously are the top ones (& rightly so DS I swear has learnt EVERYTHING from them not us!) I mean I still woke up twice with horrendous cramp in my thigh this time so still not amazing but I'll take it!! I can't believe you can't eat fruit?! Torture, I'm guzzling down fruit atm

And yessss to mr @bez91

@Franklydear that's good then, well done!
